Random blurb of me screaming about this character.
Saw a post talking about like year in review that yt and a few music apps have and then asked what Blorbos did you do the most with.
And while I still don't understand Tumblr lingo very well (damn kids and their new fangled words)
I must scream about Austry Dieder. I love him. He's one of my favorite oc's, and he's gotten so much development over this year.
But guys! He was supposed to be an npc. He was just a named talon I needed for a fic to show Piper, and therefore, the reader, that the Dark Ace was just another human being! That's it! He was supposed to exist for a 2 minute scene and then never be mentioned again.
Now he's part of my main cast.
A BIG part.
There's an au where the war gets started back up again because of his death!
This man has taken on a life of his own, and I still don't know how that happened.
I started working on his massive family tree.
I haven't even done that for some of my more long running ocs.

That's what Austry did, and I love my weird diplomat talon assassin with fea ancestry. He's an excellent green bean.

so, about a week ago, I participated on a sort of OC takeover on twitter. essentially, rp as your OC as if they're literally using twitter.
A tabloid device—a laptop—manifests in nothingness itself. Time passes, until a large, bloodstained paw draws near. It seems that oblivion has a sole resident, whose form disintegrates into mist, revealing a tall, disheveled figure looming over the laptop. She retrieves the object, wandering off to whatever an "elsewhere" is to the embodiment of "nowhere."
All the while, an ominous presence observes her.
The figure, Yuánshǔ, is a fox spirit turned obsolete. Using the laptop's web-camera, she takes a photo and introduces herself to the website known as "Twitter." Unfortunately, her bloodied, disheveled appearance is her primary form in this abyss. Oddly, she cannot muster the energy to shapeshift or use illusions in order to appear tidy.
At this point, the fox spirit knows that she is being watched.
Unfortunately, social media doesn't hold her interest for long. One would think that after being alone for so long, she would leap at the chance to finally connect with someone, regardless of whether they were from her native world or not. Not her, it seems. Perhaps she was too tired. She decides revert to her original form and returns to dormancy, hoping to never awaken ever again.
But, like always, her wish was never heard. At some point, she suddenly snaps awake, finally catching a glimpse of the ominous presence stalking her. Whether she got to confront them is unknown. It's hard to tell if she's even mad.
The entity observing Yuánshǔ never showed herself. No name was explicitly said by her, and she only revealed bits and pieces about herself and her motives. All that is known is that she is a mage living on as a spirit, and that she dreams of a world of no limits.
The only physical evidence of this spectre is her own staff of gnarly wood, its branches resembling talons grasping the breathtaking, yet foreboding eclipse.
Before the phantom mage took her leave, she decided to reveal a glimpse into the sleeping Yuánshǔ's mind. It's noted that the fox spirit rarely dreamt; when she did, it often resembled her memories.
Although the original memory took place in her room, the dream took place in a haze instead. The only things that she could recognize were her own body, the couch, and someone sleeping soundly on her lap. Someone very, very dear to her.
Eventually, she found herself slowly draping one of her many tails over them. The way the young one's eyes curved up and crinkled its corners filled Yuánshǔ with a warmth she cannot describe.
content warning / note: the last image depicts a dead kid. not terribly graphic—you might not even find it particularly uncomfortable to look at—but I'm doing this just in case.
The dream faded into the abyss, re-emerging after some time. The room she sat in seemed almost as dark as oblivion, and she could barely acknowledge the form of the sofa, the room, or even her own body.
She could only focus on the cold, battered corpse of her child.

I'm going to do this for characters from Crying Wolf, but first the no pressure tags! I'll be tagging @sarandipitywrites, @tabswrites, @revenantlore, @kaylinalexanderbooks, and open tag!
Now, let's see what those laptop thieves have done!
Justine: Proceeds to get herself into several arguments whose topics range from whether or not pineapple belongs on pizza to mutally assured nuclear destruction. Some of these arguments are with internet trolls, but she never realizes it. The dash is filled with essay-length text posts.
SMAS: Through carefully planted posts, manages to intentionally start wars in five countries and influence the elections of another four. Some of this would be to benefit people who were nice to them, but most of it is to ruin the lives of anyone who was rude to them.
Ogwut: He would return my laptop because stealing is mean.
Jack: He doesn't know how to read (at least not at the start of Crying Wolf. He does learn though!), but that doesn't mean he can't enjoy all the pretty art! He'd spend hours perusing and would eventually figure out the reblog function. He would then proceed to reblog as much art as possible.
Theo: Learns about memes and reblogs many of them. Might also try his hand at constructing a "shitpost." Is somehow wildly successful at this.
Lux: He won't reblog or like or post anything. Instead, he lurks, exploring various tags on both nature and crafts.
Wotan: Reblogs a wide variety of posts, ranging from long text posts to memes to videos of backyard science experiments to shitposts to cute animal videos to fashion moodboards. There is no observable pattern. Tumblr doesn't have an algorithm, but if it did, he would be its worst nightmare.
Daisy: She would post pictures and videos of her dog, Brutus. He becomes a Tumblr celebrity.
