I often think abt the dock goodbye in season 5 in the episode before the finale. Like when Ed and Oswald got into a fight bc Oswald went to go save Gotham instead of run.

I think abt it bc can you imagine getting into a fight with the ex you reconciled with abt saving the city so when says goodbye and that he’s gonna miss you. So you naturally exchange the same thing because you really were gonna miss him. Only to find out he was actually talking abt the dog he named after you.

The fucking dog. Like Ed fr thought he was confessing his love a second time to get it right this time, only for Oswald to ruin it with a single sentence of clarification.

It’s peak comedy. I miss when TV had funny little fruits.

Since Harvey was the best lawyer in town, Oswald Cobblepot regularly hired him whenever he was brought to court, to help cover up his shady business and trump rivals who want to stump him. The thing is, Oswald considered him an almost-friend. They often spent days chatting while working on the cases. Harvey didn’t. He’s just doing his job, and it’s only proper etiquette to be friendly. One day, Edward Nygma hired Harvey to take Oswald to trial (1). Harvey didn't care what the reason was, this is just his job. He had tons of evidence against Oswald but he can’t use it. He often forgets the details between a case and another which helps since he always sticks by the book. The weird thing about this case is that Edward had all the evidence, very very solid evidence. He could hire anyone and the case is won instantly, but he hired Harvey specifically.

as expected, Harvey won the case and Oswald was sentenced to black gate. Harvey is rarely disturbed by his work, but this one case did. As he was taken away, Oswald had given him a look that haunted him for days. While Oswald was in black gate, he still operated his empire (2), and his first order of business is taking revenge from those who wronged him. Thus, sending Harvey a very special gift right to his office. Next thing he knew, Harvey woke up in Gotham General covered in bandages and an umbrella propped up against the table.
