Day 18 coming right up! As always I hope you all enjoy <3, I will be honest though and say it has been forever since I've actually watched my bloody valentine so I'll try my best to do harry justice here.

A is for Aftercare (What they're like after sex):

Hi! I was wondering if I could get a romantic matchup for Hazbin?
I'm bi but with a preference for men, so I would like a male character as a matchup :)
Anyway, I'm an ambiverted female. I may seem quiet and unapproachable at first, but once I get close with someone, I'm a completely different person; I'm a bit charismatic, I like to joke around and I love to engage in playful banter with my friends. I'm also very often sarcastic and sometimes I like to tease my friends (and I don't mind being teased back). I'm also the type of friend in a group who tries to stop the rest from doing dumb shit, especially if I consider it too dumb or dangerous. You could say I'm the rational friend or even mom friend of the group maybe. I may come off as mean sometimes, but it's either my attempt at joking or trying to show that I care. I'm also not afraid to call someone out on their bullshit if I think they are going overboard and I value loyalty a lot.
As for my style, lately I've been dressing mostly in all black, kinda goth style (but I always wear pants, never skirts, I despise them lol). I also love silver jewelry, I always wear some visible earrings (usually dragon or snake themed) and I have a silver ring on each finger on both my hands (I feel almost naked without them).
My main interest/hobby is listening to music I guess, I can't love without it. Lately I've been into any rock type of music, heavy metal, pop-rock, hard rock, etc. Besides that, I also love to draw, read and travel. I guess I should also mention that I've been an equestrian for many years.
And lastly, my main love languages that I use are physical affection (I'm touch starved as hell), quality time and gift giving (basically anything besides words of affirmation, I'm shitty at that).

The first thing that I’d like to note here is that he loves any kind of attention, and that you seem to be quite the attention-giver, given that two of your main love languages are physical touch and gift-giving. He likes to show off your relationship by casually draping an arm over your shoulder each time you lean into him, and by keeping all of your little gifts on his desk as he works.
I find that your personalities are a good match for each other, because you sound like you could stand your ground very well to his snarky remarks. He obviously can hold his own as well, which often results in the playful banter that you know and love.

So this fic was super cute to read! There were lots of memorable moments and romantic tension. Tbh, I'm not typically a fan of NSFW fics for SBSP, but if I had to rec one, this fic would be it. If you're cool with that, great. If that's not your thing, no worries! That part happens towards the end anyway so you will not be missing out on the meat of the story if you decide to skip that part (though even that was well-written). The author does a good job building up to it so it flows naturally and you can see it coming.

I write unrequited love and major character death maybe too much lol I live for the drama but I do prefer happy endings, usually if it's not a happy ending I'll leave it ambiguous so it could be happy or sad

any super romantic relationship tends to be out of my comfort zone simply because I'm not familiar with them irl

She is an agent of chaos and I hate her so much, it's great 💜 I don't have a lot of experience doing the just straight up ridiculously depraved, but writing her is also giving me practice for writing future LRH adjacent fics involving Gabriel 👀👀👀
8) uuuuhhhhhh I like cuddles 😅😅😅😅 I'm fine with both, just not big on smut. I think I'm a little bit romantically starved tbh because sometimes I pull up a comfort fic that I know is gonna make me cry because I just kinda *need* to cry if that makes sense? 9) My current comfort character is Patton from Sanders Sides, and no one is surprised. 😅 I just vibe with him a lot because in also a very emotionally-open and emotionally-invested person, I tend to be a caretaker and I like to be prepared in case someone around me needs help. And RN with fandom drama especially, I just feel connected with Patton. I also experienced a period of my life where I tried to help but made some mistakes and then was demonized and called an abuser, manipulative, gaslighter, horrible person and then I found out I was autistic so the things I was doing (like leaving a party to sit outside and decompress when I was overwhelmed and crying) weren't as common-sense and understood as I thought (aka said behavior was called me going off and crying to isolate people and make them come take care of me) ANYWAY. It's kinda funny because I've always bounced between Patton and Virgil for TS; it was mostly Virgil at first and then I had a gap where Good Omens took over, and then it was back to TS but now more vibing with Patton

And to be 100%, I get frustrated because I want to read poly fic of just the core four and so many people are tossing Janus and Remus in the mix and I just want to find the ones that don't and it takes *forever* to filter out all of the different variants of ships. 🥲 obv I'm not going to tell anyone else to stop enjoying their ships and characters, but I'm not gonna go searching for the stuff that I don't enjoy, either.

I haven't asked anything about it before because it is a bit like being introduced to a part of me I didn't know or recognize or whatever and honestly I've just been scared of it, kinda? I'm happy to explain! I know new stuff can be really overwhelming, so please don't hesitate to send as many asks as you need 💖 There's plenty of articles out there as well that explain things, but I don't have any on-hand I'd recommend over any others (though if any followers do, please drop them in the notes!)
I'm going to go ahead and slap on a read more cause I already know this is gonna be long [spoiler alert: I was right. What's below the cut is some definitions and information about some broad ideas of dynamics in polyamory]
First, little disclaimer that I'm not the foremost authority. These are my perceptions, and I hope to give you an overview of common understandings, but its a diverse community. I'm sure someone'll disagree with me on something.
Alright, let's make sure we have some common understanding of the terms you dropped:
Polycule: Any arrangement of multiple partners, but especially used in large or complicated situations. The name comes from "poly"+"molecule". If you recall your chemistry lessons, you should recognize that molecules come in all sorts of different shapes and sizes, so it makes sense!
Triad (also called "throuple"): Three people all dating each other.
And a few basic related terms just to avoid any confusion
Polyamory: The choice or orientation to have multiple romantic interests at a time. Oftentimes, polyamory will see itself as distinct from open relationships, swinging, and other forms of non-monogamy in that you are romantically invested in all your partners, but there is overlap.
Non-monogamy: any relationship dynamic where you are not sexually and/or romantically exclusive to a single partner or vice-versa. You'll also see "ethical non-monogamy" or "enm" for short often to emphasize this is done with consent as opposed to cheating. I'm of the opinion this is redundant, but I don't knock people for their preferred verbiage.
V or Vee: a three-person relationship where one person is dating the other two, but the other two are not dating each other.
Metamour: a partner of your partner's
Please note there are a lot of words for specific polycules (like triad and V) I'm not even going to touch on here. It gets really complicated really fast, and you can worry about those once you've got your feet wet 😂
Because the point is not, in my opinion, to pick a "shape" you want for you love life, but to have an idea of what sort of dynamic you want. Its very important, so I am once again going to tack on the disclaimer once again that you don't have to have these answers. And if you think you have an answer, but change your mind later after experimenting, that's totally okay, too. You're living your life, and life doesn't always have simple answers. Its just a little more convenient if you can describe to (potential) partners what you're looking for.
My goal is to describe some broad options so you have a better understanding of some different ways things can look. Then hopefully you can sort out what you're chill with.
These are paired as "versus" but in reality they are are spectrums. In any real relationship there will be middle ground and negotiations to be had.
Hierarchical vs. Non-hierarchical
In Hierarchical polyamory, you have one primary partner who is most important to you. They will take up more of your time, love, attention, etc than your other partner(s). For example, this may look like a man having a wife, who he lives with, plans on having children with, and consults for major life decisions, as well as a girlfriend he sees a couple times a week and loves, but never plans to progress the relationship beyond that. He will likely prioritize his wife's wishes over his girlfriend's when there are conflicts
In non-hierarchical polyamory, you don't rank partners. Different relationships are considered to be roughly/functionally equal to you. Examples of this might be a triad, where all the partners live together and make major decisions as a team, or it might be a relationship anarchy sort of thing. Relationship anarchy is by its nature hard to define, but it focuses on setting rules/understandings with individual partners based on each unique relationship.
Kitchen Table Polyamory vs Parrallel Polyamory
Predictably, kitchen table polyamory is when all involved parties can regularly "sit around a kitchen table together." Everyone knows their metamours personally, at least, and may also consider them friends or start dating them as well. This can also become what I call a "poly commune" situation where everyone ends up co-habitating or even raising children together.
Opposite of this is parallel polyamory, so named because your various relationships never "intersect." Your partners all know the others exist, but aren't expected to meet each other or interact. This might look like a married couple who have laid out rules for who and how the other person is allowed to date, but otherwise have a "don't ask, don't tell" policy on other relationships, or it might look a woman who dates several other people semi-casually and will reference them to each other but just feels its easier if they don't meet (or a lot of other things. The examples I list for this whole thing could never be exhaustive.).
I've also seen references to garden-party or birthday-party polyamory, which is sort of in between the other two. The idea is, as you could probably guess, that regular interaction doesn't occur, but for big events like birthday parties, you invite multiple partners. So in our example earlier of the man with a wife and a girlfriend, the wife and the girlfriend might see each other a couple times a year, for the man's birthday and his famous [big sporting event] party.
Degree of "Openness"
What sort of limitations do you have on who you date/sleep with? For example, you may only be allowed to date within the existing polycule (this is called "polyfidelity") (triads are stereotypically depicted as being "closed" in this way). You may have a relationship anarchy situation where you're allowed to date or have sex with anyone you want no questions asked. Maybe you're in a committed relationship with a primary and they want you to check in and talk it over before dating someone new, and you have an agreement to always use condoms with anyone but your primary. Maybe you and your primary are only wanting to date together. Maybe you have a partner who is fine with you dating anyone but their friends.
Polyamory vs Open Relationship or Swinging
Basically, are you loving other people or is it sex-only. I'm not going to get into it too deep here since you're on a poly blog, but if you haven't yet, you might take some time to figure out if what you want isn't just sexual freedom in an otherwise monogamous romance.
So that's a lot, but I think its a pretty good synopsis of common ways polyamory can manifest. As mentioned before, these are all spectrums, and its likely you or your partner(s) will have their own little caveats. You can also be in multiple of these at a time! You may have one partner who doesn't want to meet your other partners, and several other partners who all like to come kick it on your couch together. I encourage you though to imagine which of these you'd be comfortable with. Some people, for example, feel very strongly that they either need to know or not know who their partner is dating. Its really important as you go through this process to sit through your feelings without judgement and to communicate clearly with all your (potential) partners. (You'll also want to be able to listen to their feelings without judgement, even when its difficult to hear, but start with yourself.)

Help I cannot stop thinking about various kinks and other such preferences that characters (canon and OC alike) have:
I'm pretty sure everyone who's found my content is aware that I will put both Dusty and Nick through literally anything. I don't even need to specify them, one of them is shamelessly horny and the other is both curious and too humble for his own good and that's a dangerous thing to be when you're that submissive and bree- ANYWAYS
I've always thought Blade is really good with - and preferring of - two things: personal control and endurance. He's a control freak as it were (this is not new information I'm sure) but he has a vibe that just screams show me what you're capable of. If going the extra mile with your stamina does that, I think that'd be right up his alley.
Windlifter is tricky because I think by default he probably stands on one of two sides of the line, either he's the most vanilla motherfucker you've ever seen, or you don't WANT to know the things that he gets up to. I've always wondered, what do you think of dark sbi fics? I've seen people say that they are very subtle poppy fics, and I wonder what you guys think about that. Are the dark sbi fics poppy??

i think that now a days, most problematic fanfics are very cushy. if you want darker content, definitely scroll down in the sbi ship fics. usually the older the content the darker it is, which supported the whole myth of “dark sbi fics are actually just poppy fics” thing that went around in the early days (poppytwt community was an absolute slaughter house for all dsmp members in 2020, you can find pretty much anything dark)
i don’t think all dark sbi fics are inherently poppy. poppy is more so actively and positively shipping people, while a trauma fic that mentions it without actively describing a rape scene and/or pursuing a romantic relationship between a minor and adult is not poppy work (in my personal opinion!)
i believe the criteria for a dark sbi fic to be considered poppy is to have 3+ of these boxes checked off:
actively ships the adult x minor throughout the story
writes an explicit rape scene
describes the minor and adult’s abusive relationship in a “positive” light (ie. the minor enjoying it when the adult does something to them against their will)
claims it’s a poppy fic
op might say things like “oh why do i kinda wanna write them both a happy ending together lol” in the end notes after the adult rapes minor 😭 (seen this before in a very explicitly poppy “dark sbi” fic intended for regular mcyttwt)
personally i love dark sbi fics. i typically prefer most of my fics to be extra dark because i love seeing the writing in it and it just hits diff. i don’t have many saved but i know for a fact there’s a lot of dark sbi fics around outside and inside poppytwt.
once again, i don’t speak for all of poppytwt though so people may have different opinions!

I am just being a baby about having a cold XD
But I will definitely use that as an excuse to answer al of these about my precious Yara!
I'm gonna put the answer to 1. under the cut, since it involves spoilers for Deference for Darkness. So it's up to you if you want to read it or not ^^
5. How affectionate are they? What are their top love languages?
At first Yara isn't very affectionate, mostly because he's very shy and socially awkward. He prefers tech over people, touch makes him uncomfortable and he generally prefers to be ignored. The longer he stays with Halo, the more he opens up, though! He still won't be affectionate with anyone he doesn't know well, but with Nova, Purrgil and a few others from Halo he feels safe. He's still not usually the one to initiate physical contact, but he does allow it. He doesn't fully come out of his shell until after Order 66, when he's living with Mij, Nuts and the rest of their clan. His top love languages are, words of affirmation and quality time :)
8. What will always make them smile? What will always make them cry?
Anything tech will always make Yara smile! Ask him to fix something, to improve something and he'll be happy. Nuts is also very good at making him smile with his snarky comments and silly antics. There's a person important to him whom Yara loses at some point. Thinking about that will always make him cry.
9. What was their first kiss like?
Ooohh boy... Yara's first kiss is actually with Nuts XD They're both recovering in the care of Mij Gilamar, very much physically and emotionally damaged from everything that happened during Order 66. There's a moment where they're comforting each other and on a whim Yara just...kisses Nuts. He's very awkward and embarrassed about it, but Nuts kisses him back. Then they basically sit back and go...nah that ain't it. They prefer to be friends lol.
17. Do they consider themselves to be romantic? Why or why not?
Yara doesn't consider himself to be romantic, but probably is? He'd be the kinda person to leave sappy notes for his partner to find and hold hands etc. Nuts loves to tease him about it.
21. What are they most afraid of? What made them fear this?
Early on? Being decommissioned. Especially after he loses half his hearing early on after being deployed and ends up with nerve damage in his hands (he loses the rest of his hearing towards the end of the war). Nova and Purrgil promised to protect him, but it doesn't take his fear away completely. Post O66 he is most afraid of the Empire coming for their clan, since they're all deserters.
22. What is something others admire about them? Are they aware that people admire them for this?
His family very much admires his ability to adapt. Especially Mij is very proud of how quickly Yara has learned to lip read, how he has taught himself to live with his disability and how he makes the most with what he has. He's not specifically aware they admire him for this, though he knows his buir is proud of him <3
23. Where would they fall on a politeness/rudness scale of 1-10 (1 being the most polite and 10 being the rudest)?
2. The only reason it's not 1, is because later on he learns to stand up for himself more and sometimes snarks at nat-borns who disrespect him XD

1. Who are they closest to? How did they meet and what do they like to do together?
Yara is closest to Jinn. Jinn has taken care of Yara since he was a tiny cadet on Kamino who showed more interest in tech than in fighting. They met when Jinn found Yara hiding in a supply closet, trying to hack his own training results so he wouldn't be decommisioned. Jinn watched after him after that, named him and stepped in once or twice when other cadets tried to bully him. Jinn loves languages and reading about different cultures, Yara loves listening to him. After Jinn gets deployed, Yara hacks his own files to change his age and assigns himself to Halo Company as well, a full two years before his training is supposed to be finished.
Jinn's death absolutely crushes Yara and it takes a while for him to get close to anyone again after that. Nova pairs him up with Purrgil intentionally, so they can keep an eye on each other, which works. After Order 66 he is closest with Nuts. They like to watch holo dramas together, especially detective ones and try to guess the plot twists and throw shade. Nuts also likes to drag Yara along into his crazy plans.

I've been wanting to send this one in for a while. What was going through the Wolfpacks mind and how much did Wolffe hear?
“I’d heard about him a lot from your brothers, how angry he was and that they thought he could use someplace like here. Home. But I didn’t think that he would ever show up. And, after a couple times something happened. I don’t know who really even started it.” The girl took another steadying breath, before continuing on the now spilling thoughts and feelings she’d been bottling up for months now. Completely unaware of the three men’s attention being drawn out the window where a grey and blue painted trooper walked towards the front door.
“I think about him, all the time. I hear his voice when I wake up, and I constantly dream about him. It’s like I’m constantly in this fever dream where I’ve finally been given something that I can’t deny I want.” All of the confusion crashed down in a wave of crystal-clear realization. Audience of troopers aside, the girl hadn’t thought it all through so straight.
She was brought back to Rex, sitting there drinking his caf with a look of disappointment when she’d mentioned that there wasn’t anything she wanted out of life. Other than helping the troopers. It hadn’t been the first time he’d asked, and she hadn’t realized why until now. She had the ability to have what she wanted. Regulations didn’t affect her, and neither did anyone else who didn’t have her best interests at heart. Rex hadn’t meant love specifically, or anything of the like, but what she didn’t get was why it mattered. His constant reminders spoken to the fact that without knowing… she couldn’t possibly go about getting it. Whatever “it” is. The girl’s sudden epiphany was that she finally knew -for once in her life- that there was something she wanted more than anything.
And that was Wolffe.
Her awestruck reaction and frozen posture thawed to see not a single pair of eyes focused on her. Boost, Sinker and Comet were all watching high above her head into the kitchen at something positively damning. Behind her, the heavy sound of boots thumped against the floor echoing off the silent walls of the house. Her heart, already thrumming with personal-realization began working double-time as the steps got closer.

Let's start with the Wolfpack shall we?
Comet and Sinker know Pup the best, obviously. They think she's sweet, and they've always had a sense of little-sister vibes from her. It's the way she always invites them in, and never let's them leave without being adamant that they come back again... Preferably leaving less time between visits. Her home is one that the Pack really doesn't get to spend much time in, but when they do get the chance it's like they never left. Habits are created very easily, so the same dinners are almost always on the menu and there's almost a bedtime ritual they both have which never goes abandoned. Comet and Sinker are men of habit, but they never miss out on Pup's willingness to oblige them basically anything they want.
For Boost, his normal happy-go-lucky (and troublemaker) attitude is absent. This is the first time he's meeting Pup, and like most troopers he's hesitant for a number of reasons. It's illegal what they're doing, and although this girl has been nothing but a god-send for his brothers, it's nerve-racking to be in an unusual situation like sitting in a living room and talking just for the enjoyment of it. In a matter of an evening though, he's already falling into that same trap of love and affection that everyone else does when they meet Pup. She's sweet, and overly worrisome about his boots not being comfortable. (Something Boost wasn't sure he'd ever thought about before.)
The Pack's decision to make a visit wasn't a difficult one to make. Each of them had seen the changes in Wolffe's personality, whether big or small, and right away they knew that it was because he'd finally went for his own visit. It wasn't until Chapter Five that they realize there's something more going on than just what Comet and Sinker are familiar with experiencing during their stays at Home. It's the way their Commander doesn't seem to respond to them quickly -like he's off somewhere else in his mind- and the many times they've caught him taking a nap during a mission, mumbling to himself with the occasional slip-up of her name crossing his lips. The entire Wolfpack -Plo Koon included- know that their Commander has it bad. And initially, they're a little bit confused as to why Pup would ever take a liking to someone as harsh as Wolffe.
Note: Until this point, no one has seen Wolffe interact with Pup, and I made this decision very carefully. It was crucial that Wolffe come to form some sense of habit and security with her before this moment happens. It's to better display the completely different way Wolffe acts as a Commander, versus when he's with Pup. Wolffe is extremely talented at prioritizing tasks, whatever they may be. Therefore, when he's a soldier that's the only thing he normally has the mental capacity for. But when he's with Pup, he takes that romantic role just as seriously as he would directing troops on the frontlines.
The Pack know Wolffe is the one coming in the door. They also realize that they'd incidentally forced Pup's hand, and now they had no way of stopping her from talking without making everything even more awkward than it's already becoming. With every second that passes between seeing him walk past the window, Pup just keeps talking and the collective hope of the 104th is that Wolffe's change in attitude isn't just a passing fancy for Pup, and that her proclamation of love is one that their brother will see as something significant. In the background of this apprehension for Wolffe's reaction, they're actually shocked to hear Pup admit what she does about Wolffe.
They've always known Wolffe to be a little on the stiff side of rules and decorum, and even the mention of him being the least bit romantic enough to capture her attention is just another blow to these men's (hopelessly misguided) ideas about their Commander. He's not the most gentle person, and Pup is nothing short of an angel... (That's literally Sinker's nickname for her.) They make for a strange pair, and there's a bit of all three of them that have the same worry that Rex does; Can she actually handle him?
Note: I've always thought of Wolffe as a tortured soul, that never deserved the copious punishments that was handed to him in his life. And in the fic, there was a huge motivation to really play up just how worried troopers get about their brothers who end up the way Wolffe is when we see him post-cybernetics. He's angry and vicious to an extent. Not that he was a really carefree guy to begin with, but it's such a contrast that all of the men who knew Wolffe closely can see a very scary change in the Commander once he's brought back for duty. (Fives and Rex's conversation in Chapter Five is where I tried to make that fear a little more palpable and realistic of what war has done to Wolffe through the eyes of men who've seen things similar...)
They hear her words, and they're all staring at Wolffe who's got the most impassive expression they've ever seen before. It's stiffer than when he's at a parade rest, and even his posture looks like it could fucking snap at any second. But the second Pup's pause of realization hits her, Wolffe suddenly decides to join them all. Every last one of the Pack are holding their breath for this; Literally none of them have any idea of what to expect. They're all making subconscious guesses, trying to read his movements, literally anything that might help try and relax this tension. But when Wolffe just sits himself down at Pup's feet; Stretching out his leg and visibly melting back against her chair...
It's utter shock.
Note: I chose Boost for the next POV because he fit the need perfectly. Not only does he know Wolffe extremely well, but he doesn't have this predetermined idea of what Pup is like. He knows on a surface level that she's very kind and a little shy. But I needed him for this moment because it's truly perception-bending to see Wolffe take such a submissive posture towards this girl. (Her admittance that she loves him aside.) Boost has never seen Wolffe carry himself like that, and I wanted you to see it through his eyes because that's Wolffe's constant personality. Pup is the only one who's seen Wolffe soft -so this isn't new to her- but for the Pack, this is unprecedented behavior.
Now for our sweet, sweet, Commander 🤍
Wolffe was very preoccupied with his conversation with Anakin from Chapter Six and the upset over being forced to come back so late in the evening. He wouldn't dare not return after promising that he would, but the idea of making her wait up so late didn't sit right with him in the slightest. Being so caught up in his own head, he doesn't notice the Wolfpack staring at him through the open window dressings, and he's completely unaware that they'd chosen to come and see her as well. (He tries not to worry himself too much about what they do on planet-leave, and this was just one of his weaker moments.) Not that Wolffe would ever admit to being constantly worried about his brother's getting into trouble, and him not being able to get them out of it.
But all of that changes the second he walks into the house and hears Pup talking. It's not what she's saying at first; But instead just hearing her voice is enough to make Wolffe pause and listen as he pulls his bucket off his head. She's so soft, but this time there's a different edge to it; And standing in the hallway is when Wolffe finally realizes that she's talking about him. It's a miracle he didn't drop his bucket in a loud clatter to the floor in that instant.
Pup is saying things that Wolffe couldn't have dreamt about even coming from her mouth. Admitting that he’s in her dreams like she constantly takes a place in his. Detailing just how surreal it is to have him around her, just like it feels in his own mind. Pup is speaking exactly what Wolffe has been feeling for months and it's all Wolffe can to do try and stay quiet, just so he doesn't miss another word. Every syllable is spoken like she read it right from his heart, and Wolffe is so speechless that he's on the verge of busting through the house to find her and really show her exactly what a fever-dream he could provide for her.
But the moment he sees his brothers, all staring at his shadowed figure in the kitchen he realizes that they knew he was listening, and that now there was no turning back. Wolffe is feeling really pressured at this moment. Not because he doesn't love Pup -because he really does- but it's hard to traverse the admission with his men watching him for a reaction. They know nothing about his relationship with Pup, and he's kept it that way for fear of someone thinking it was unprofessional, and attempting to do something about it that would not only risk himself and the other men who need her, but Pup herself for providing care and warmth to men who were considered GAR property. He doesn't suspect that his men would ever do something like that, but there's this sense of fear that makes Wolffe present himself so emotionlessly. That is, until he can collect his own emotions for hearing her, and try to play it off.
Note: Wolffe is very skittish. And that's all to do with the treatment he faced after his fight with Ventress. He thinks very lowly of himself personally, but has an unbreakable expectation that he do everything exactly as it should be done without failure. This makes him a wonderful leader, but god-awful at admitting he has feelings aside from diplomatic neutrality. He's struggling to do the right thing here, when there really isn't a textbook example of how to handle expressing the emotion of know the person you love, admitting to loving you back in front of a small crowd. Wolffe doesn't understand that anything he could've chosen to do would've been acceptable here. But in the end, Wolffe's diplomacy is what guided the plot. (Once again, I only write for the characters, I hardly ever get creative liberty when coming to the conclusion of what my non-OC characters do. Even then, my OC's are very diligent in reminding me that they have their own personalities and I can't just make them do anything.)
Wolffe chooses what feels comfortable to him in this moment. At this point, everyone -including Pup- is waiting for him. And when he walks into the living room, his first instinct is to go where he feels the safest. And that's with her. (It's important that he sits at her feet and I'll tell you why in a moment.) Wolffe wants to be with her as best he can in this moment. He still feels that emotional relief and warmth of hearing her say she had the same feelings for him, but the last thing he wants to do is put either of them on the spot in front of his brothers that are appearing very worried and utterly confused at the moment. So to tone down the tension he'd accidentally created, he just does what feels right; And that's to let Pup know he's happy to see her, and give the apology he'd been meaning to all along.
"Sorry m'late."
From there, his men -sharp as ever- realize that he has wants to do this one his own, and Comet takes the initiative to take conversation somewhere else for the time being. He's silently grateful for that, and although he never says anything to them about it, Wolffe is certain that they did so on his behalf and wouldn't expect a thank you for it.
The rest of the night is easy to get lost in. His boys -always needing to show off- take turns coming into themselves again, and decide that a competition of war-stories and funny -albeit stupid- stories are in order. It feels natural like this, and Wolffe hasn't ever felt so proud having all of his brothers and his precious lady all in the same room where they can just be normal for a little while. He's extremely attentive to Pup's attempts at touching him, and he has to bite back a smile when he feels her secretive touches against his back. She's doing it on purpose to avoid his brother's notice, but Wolffe realizes she's probably just as nervous to be outright about it as well. After all, he'd not made a single comment about what she'd said, but he was kriffing surprised that it didn't change her desire to be close to him.
Note: Wolffe sat on the floor for a reason. And it wasn't my decision in the slightest. The way the living room sits, Pup has the best view of the room. Her back is to a corner, and the couch and chair that Boost, Sinker, and Comet occupy and positioned to face in her direction. It's strategic -and instinctual- that Wolffe put himself at the center of attention. That is basically a requirement that he head his squad at all times, and naturally he doesn't distinguish this scenario apart from any other. It's simply the Commanding Officer in him. But to a -wonderfully complex- part of Wolffe's character, he's doing it because that puts Pup at his back where he knows she's safe. His brother's aren't harmful in the slightest, but Wolffe knows that should there be a threat, he'll see them coming, and they'd have to go through him to get to her first. Protecting Pup is one of Wolffe's greatest motives throughout the entire fic, and this was one moment I wanted to play that theme out silently. (I don't know if anyone really picked up on it.)
This choice to sit at her feet appears very submissive to the Pack, and to Pup for that matter. But really Wolffe is subconsciously staking claim and protective charge over Pup without even realizing that he's doing so. For example; he could've picked her up and sat down in the chair with her in his lap, he could've sat down next to one of his brothers instead, or even chose to stand somewhere. But all of those choices leave Pup undefended. Wolffe doesn't see that he's doing it, and neither does anyone else in a very direct way. But if you pay attention to the way I toned the scene, you'll notice that Wolffe doesn't ever lose control of the room. Focus and power is always on him even when no one thinks wiser. It's what makes Wolffe such a commander figure all of the time. He has a natural predisposition to hold command, so even when Wolffe isn't trying have dominance, it's always present in the subtle way he moves, speaks, and presents himself to those around him.
