KotE......... I do actually rly enjoy KotE I think it has potential in terms of where it's going. But since I only posted one fic in 2023, I'll do my top 5 of fics I've ever posted. Apart from the first one this is in no particular order
tickertape - The A-Team (TV) it's my baby it's all I thought about for months of my life, it's like an iceberg (i.e. most of it is in my WIP doc, and only a tiny fraction is published so far), it got me thru a difficult time, it's an exploration of mental illness and complicated messy relationships expressed in epic format (i.e. it's probably gonna be novel length when it's done)
Bullet Number Six - Starsky & Hutch (TV) it received criticism for being obscure and hard to follow bc it switches pov briefly halfway thru but idc i love it anyway
I Gotta Right to Sing the Blues - The A-Team (TV) it was my first A-Team fic and I still think for a beginner it nailed some p realistic in-character dialogue and addressed an undertone I wished I'd seen addressed in the ep it's a coda to.
When They Sleep - The Man from UNCLE (TV) it's kind of riddled with certain mannerisms of my slightly older writing which I personally find a bit annoying and have worked to iron out for the sake of elegance over the years. but I still think it's a cool little exploration of all my sleep headcanons for the pair of them in one place
King of the Eyesores - Doctor Who (1963) see it made it to the list after all! I kinda like it more for its potential than for what it is right now butttttt who cares.
special mention to Unbereft (Starsky & Hutch) which I really really like but I wrote it in one frenzied sitting and only remembered after I'd posted it that it was very like someone else's fic I'd read several years previously. I don't think it's too much like to be taken down and I've since mentioned the writer of the other fic (it was dawnwind, hello!) in the notes. that's the only reason unbereft isn't in my top 5 because I'm otherwise really proud of how well it's written. Not to tootle on my own trumpet.

Dear Mike - an epistolary between Jo Grant and Mike Yates following her marriage to Cliff Jones.
The Lark/Behind That Locked Door (working titles) - a 30-chapter 2/Jamie fic about season 6B in which Jamie suffers permanent memory problems after the War Games. It explores grief, social ostracism, feeling abandoned, undirected anger, guilt, and acceptance that healing sometimes is a process that is never complete. I've been working on it since about 2016 lol but I'm lazy I just need to press on.
hell valley au - as yet untitled lol. In which the Hell Valley!Marty (who is never seen in BTTF2 as he is in Switzerland) and Hell Valley!Doc (who has been institutionalized) break out of their respective situations and go on the run together. But there's a problem - they had to leave Einstein behind, and when they get information that Einie is to be used for a dogfight, they make the risky decision to go back to Hill Valley to rescue him. However, going back to the place they just escaped by the skin of their teeth also brings them face to face with the last person they expect to meet.
a changed man (working title) - a Randall & Hopkirk (Deceased) fic from Jeannie's pov. mostly it's about their picnic excursions but it's also about Jeannie wishing Marty wasn't such an elephant in the room
mfu/rahd xover (untitled) - the first chapter of this is almost ready to go tbh. it's what it says on the tin lol, Napoleon and Illya go to London and get help from a rather eccentric private detective who has uncanny powers of solving impossible cases but also they think is probably clinically insane
to see him happy - VERY weird rahd fic. it's smut but its also about grief. might never post it because several of my family members have access to my tumblr and therefore my ao3 lol they dont need to see that
the winter of '62 - a study of jeff and marty's life when they lived together in a grotty bedsit and couldnt afford to put the heating on
star wars (untitled) - set during ROTJ, han pov. han's lost a lot of time and now everyone is one step ahead of him which isn't a sensation he's used to
skyrissian - what it says on the tin lol
the older gen (untitled) - jeeves fic about bertie's aunts and uncles and parents as they were as they variously grew up, got married, had children, died (or didn't), fell prey to alcoholism or insanity or petty crime, went to war, prospered (or didn't)... This is pretty unlikely to be finished this year tbh as it's very detailed but I can dream
a couple of long form fics about starsky & hutch and mfu respectively (the s&h one is set post sweet revenge, the mfu one takes place at various moments throughout the show)
x-files series - canon compliant until paperclip and then gradually diverges into how i think the show should have gone lol. another biggie
and a handful of tintin fics that im protective of and might never post but we'll see - one where tintin and chang go on holiday in london after picaros, one where the gang encounters rajaijah one last time (featuring a letter from didi, chang making a very daring crossing at the songolese border, and tintin taking about ten years to chop up a clove of garlic), and one where tintin gets shitfaced at an embassy ball and accidentally starts an Incident. haddock looks on, appalled.
i knoooooooooooooooowww this is a lot but i'm not realistically hoping to finish it all this year but it's nice to have lots of things to play around with lol.
unfortunately i have the eternal problem of not ever knowing which of my mutuals write fic and which of those havent already been tagged but imma tag @theteaisaddictive and genuinely if u see this and u write fic ur tagged i want to knowwwwwwwwwwwww <333

Starter calls from me are a little scant right now just because of how many threads I have LOL. The better way to start interaction with me is to send in something from my ask meme tag or to just tag me in a starter that you make! Those are much easier for me to get to and manage. This is open to do from pretty much anyone, EXCEPT, there is a small caveat:
For new OCs/OCs I have not interacted with before, I am probably not going to interact immediately. I want to check out your blog, see what your character is about, get a feel for your writing style, etc. I've been burned by a few OCs while playing Alastor. You can read more on it here. So I'll just be exercising a little caution first. I love OCs but I really really hate people making assumptions about Al's feelings and characterization, trying to force a ship, OR just using him as a backdrop for their own plots. So just keep that in mind. <3
IF YOU LIKE A POST, usually it will show on your main and then you can use the replies to tell me what the side-blog is! I'll definitely go check it out, though this rly just applies for starter call type things. I'd really like to see more moments of the axis and the allies just hanging out together. Considering theyre the main characters it's lowkey sad many of them barely have any interactions together (Hima pls all I need is a panel w/ Germany nd China). It's probably been said before, but growing up with CLAMP works and then entering another different fandom is surreal. Like, I'll see fans complaining about how their OTPs wasn't canon because they didn't kiss or say "I love you" by the end of the series and I'd just look at them confused as heck.
On an unrelated note, do you know any fics about Kurogane and Fai's bet? I suddenly have this weird appetite for it.
Yup, entering another fandom (buddy daddy one I assume?) after CLAMPdom is a wild ride precisely of what you've mentioned. People are fighting over ships, accusing creators of queerbaiting cuz they didn't see xyz and projecting own expectations onto series and ofc complaining how their ship ain't canon. But what is 'canon' rly, do every ship must kiss, confess love or be seen in irrefutably romantic scenario to be canon? Where is the concrete line between what's canon and what not? Two people can watch the exact same show and one could think ship is canon 100% while other picked 0 romantic clues at all
Look at kurofai for example, they had none of those 3 i mentioned above but vast majority of fandom treats them as canon because of all the little sacrifices and developments as well as emotional bond they share. Whether they kissed behind the scenes or not doesn't really matter to me, their bond is strong and beautiful 💕🐶🐱
Hmm I read some kurofai fics before but never stumbled upon bet trope. So no, I unfortunately don't know any. I'll tag this as kurofai and trc in hope someone who has recs sees the post

LMAOOO honestly my entire reijiro repertoire but it might be “荷物 — baggage.” the puppy jiro one is ICKYBAD because of the extreme age gap and unethical experimentation parts but it’s like SO wack that it’s almost funny imo. baggage is definitely a taboo fantasy but it’s more rooted in reality where forging documents and country-hopping to avoid arrest and kidnapping your favorite son by means of transporting him as luggage are uh. uhhh yeah jail for one thousand years. and i did want it to be a little melancholy and very uncomfortable to read despite how spicy it gets so yeah i guess i’d be an accomplice to Rei’s crimes there PFFFF

ok so i don’t really know how to pin down what a “comfort fic” is to me because i mostly read smut and/or dark fics! so i don’t reread things for like “yay warm nice” feels, i reread for “horny dismal pain” feels…
however i read one recently that was absolutely beautiful and is still haunting me in a deeply touching way, like something more akin to bittersweetness? and i want to mention that here! “are you near me? (my door is open)” by paranatellon REALLY captivated me. it has literally all of my favorite things— a macabre setup, body part gifting, eye horror, epistolary elements, Rodrigue as a background character(!!!), gorgeous imagery… the characterization is spot on for everyone, especially Dimitri who is just so very unwell but still treated with so much care and sympathy! i really love this fic!!!

I already tag it as #B//rbie m//vie (without the slashes. only putting those there so my response to you isn't automatically blacklisted so you'll be able to read this lol) but there might be a few slips bc it's been out for almost a full month now and I've been putting so much in my queue.
If it helps, I'm always trying to tag the major spoilers as #B//rbie m//vie spoilers (though my catch all tag is definitely just #B//rbie m//vie).
When I answer asks, I don't put most of my replies in the main tag because I don't want to crowd it. I will absolutely tag the asks if it has some major spoilers, but most of the time the asks don't have any major spoilers so I don't tag them as strictly spoilers (i.e. someone sending me a self ship prompt involving the characters, that has nothing to do with the movie in itself but ofc it mentions their names). In that case you could also blacklist my self ship tags for B//rbie and Ken (💕♫♪ ♡ You're the pink in my cheeks 🎀🌸✨♡) and (💕 I'll fight for you!! - ̗̀🐎🏖️✨ ̖́-)
However, to be safe, my blog is going to be B//rbie centric as long as this hyperfixation lasts (could be 2 days, could be 2 months, I never know), I would gently recommend you unfollow me for like a month or so... or indefinitely, whatever makes you comfortable. Or temporarily blacklist my URL if you don't want to unfollow. It's completely your decision, I only suggest it because I can't promise I'll remember to tag everything, my queue has 900 posts and I'm always refilling it to the very top and I kind of refill my queue in such a rush. My queue normally posts 10-20 posts per day, a majority of them are B//rbie right now, and I don't want you to have to accidentally stumble across a spoiler (or any other reason you're blacklisting it, if you're blacklisting because you just don't want to see ANY of it in general for whatever reason, then definitely more the reason to unfollow this blog). If only a few posts a week were B//rbie it'd be easier for me to tag things, but I'm completely throwing myself into this film. I'm fully immersed into my ships with the characters now and I'm going to be talking about it literally allllll the time. This blog is like... 90% B//rbie posting and I just want you to be able to safely scroll without stumbling on something by accident. I can try my very best to tag things from now on but like I said, there is rly so much of it... and there’s some things I don’t want to put into the main tag, like some text posts simply mentioning the name of a character (like my previous text post) but has nothing to do with the film/spoilers. Months from now I won't be tagging spoilers anymore bc the movie would have been out for a long time already, and if this is something that you NEVER want to see on your dash at any point in the future I understand if you'd rather unfollow.

that being said i just rly do not understand at all characterizing carulia as either of them being oblivious about each others feelings just because like. just with their dynamic in the show they rly arent ?? like while the show doesnt explicitly mention any romantic feelings the flirting implied in a lot of their interaction is mutual and like with the "arent you a quick study"/"now look whose a quick study" moment it really just feels like they *know* and are flirting back and forth with each other yk they really dont seem to have that oblivious dynamic (and like. cmon unless they specified while doing so tht it was platonic or the person doing so was someone i had completely established that we are friends with no romantic interest with each other if someone gave me A BOUQUET OF RED ROSES id at least be kinda suspicious of whether the reason was romantic feelings and i think most people would be yk)
also just like. i really hate in general how the oblivious characterization is usually done as like "lol theyre dumb for not getting the other has feelings for them" and i just really dont like that even if it is done "affectionately" towards the characters because carmen and julia are both incredible smart and its a big part of both of their characters so i think its a huge disservice to both of them to characterize either of them as dumb or stupid and takes away from both both of them as characters and their dynamic to do so and imo doesnt add anything interesting to theyre dynamic at all like. idk i think their dynamic is good and interesting enough w out adding the idea of them being oblivious about their feelings which imo actually takes a lot away from their dynamic
but also once again this is just my opinion i just wanted to share it bc i dont like the trend in characterizing the ship that way but again not trying to attack anyone and if u disagree than u can do whatever u want

Hello, friend! Apologies for bothering you but I had a quick fanfic question and you seem like a friendly person to go to!
So, I just got into writing, but I'm a longtime reader. *However* most of the fics I've read come from AO3, not tumblr. So I'm not "knowledgeable" on how to post work on here, so to speak.
That being said, what are the appropriate tags I should make for a fic? Also, how in the fuck do I make a banner?! I've tried making one for a previous work but I just think it's the wrong size?!?
If you have any answers, I would happily appreciate it 🙏

hello hello!!! i'm honored u decided to come ask me aww 🥺🥺 i will do my best to respond!! (keep in mind tht there rly arent any set technicalities to this, it's just what i do!!)
so of course tag the relationship first i would say. im gna use bkg as an example lmaooo so like 'bakugou x reader'. use both his first name and full name in separate tags (bkg katsuki x reader, katsuki x reader) bc you never know how people will look up certain tags. and since people spell his last name differently also tag that. i think there's a thing where ur post appears in only the first 5 tags u use??? but im not sure if thats legit. id still be wary.
i personally wouldnt tag an x reader fic as simply 'bnha' or anything bc like... the x reader niche is pretty mmm small n unique and i dont think ppl who arent into it wanna see y/n fics in the mha tag LOL but thats just me. keep it to the x reader tags or whatever fic youre writing, be it ship fic or whatevr, it's the same process.
u could also tag it as like 'bakugou imagine' or 'bakugou fluff' or smthn. and you can also create a unique tag for specifically your writing so that people can easily look it up instead of hunting for a masterlist! like you can do, idk '__ writings'. makes it easier when theyre on your blog since they can search for its content
in the case of x reader fics, i'd also use 'bkg x y/n' or 'bkg x you' bc again, never know how people will search for smthn.
and make sure you tag any TWs too! for instance, 'tw blood' or 'cw blood'. its good to use both for people who have the tags blocked!! i also find its nice to insert warnings/mentions at the top of your post! like if the reader is fem or gn, if its an AU, any TWs, if its fluff/angst/hurt, the pairing, anything you can think of that you blv readers will want to know abt! maybe add a short summary or a lil snippet.
so. banners. i personally use canva bc its free<3 my banners are 3000 x 1055 px! ive found tht it works p well. you could probably increase the height more, up to u. just fiddle around with the sizing! the lil dividers are typically 3000 x 40 px for me, but only bc i think 40 is the smallest canva can go lol

Cos I keep seeing some mentions of Cassandra joining Vox Machina AUs again and I can’t find my previous post on my blog, here’s some of my ideas:
Cassandra gets onto a ship as she runs away. She’s dropped off at an orphanage far south as she’s like 13. She eventually runs away when one of the workers clocks that she’s probably related to someone rich and wants to get a reward. She decides to live alone. As she’s young she’s inspired by stories of heroes.
She meets Vex and Vax who are like, super cool at their jobs as mercanaries and begs them to train her. They help her out of trouble and agree to drop her off at the next town. But she sticks around and they bond.
Cassandra goes by a random name with them (I’ve picked Lacey for now) and does not tell them her real name until the Briarwood arc. Cassandra is not tempted by vengeance, instead she just can’t handle the grief so decides to not think about her past.
She travels with Vex and Vax until they meet Vox Machina. She becomes close with all of them and Scanlan gets dad feels (after initially being like ‘why are you travelling with a child??’ Though she’s like 17 at this point).
I think a traumatic scene of death of a family could really trigger a depressive spiral in Cassandra (as she’s been bottling stuff up for years) as she’s reminded of her own family, which leads to her past being revealed. I like to think she makes some sort of temporary deal with some sort of demons to see a glimpse of her family in the afterlife or something fucked up and she realises Percy is alive.
They go to Uriel who is like ‘ I literally can’t declare war on your word but I’ll send a diplomatic mission to Whitestone’ and VM tag along.
The diplomatic mission is Kima, Allura and Jarrett and a bunch of guards
Things quickly go tits up in Whitestone and a rebellion is started. Also the Briarwoods rly don’t have any prior warning so uh… no sun tree bodies?
They basically go straight to the castle and discover Ripley and she dies. Later we see that Anders escapes.
They confront the Briarwoods in the middle of the castle and that’s where the main fight is. I think the Briarwoods basically offer to free Percy in exchange for Vox Machina to leave and never return and Cassandra is tempted but they’ve basically left Allura Kima and Jarrett helping the rebellion so she just can’t and then Percy starts helping the Briarwoods fight Vox Machina as he’s been turned oh noooo. Basically if they had left Percy would have tried to get Cassandra alone to kill her there. I also like to think during the fight Percy shoots Vex because I like the drama (like heals her immediately tho)
And then I think Keyleth would manage to cast a sunlight spell to disable the Briarwoods who flee and take one member of VM charmed with them. Percy is freed there and agrees to help.
The rest kind of proceeds the same as Percy has some knowledge of the Zigguraut to lead them there and he’s on their side.
I have some ideas that Cassandra throws herself in front of the finger of death for Vex and flat out dies. They resurrect her and Vex promises herself as a paladin for Pelor very impulsively to try and bring her back (idk not
Percy thinks that Cassandra’s friends are Knights of Emon and she is a noble Knight herself and then gets annoyed at VM that they dragged his baby sister around to be a mercenary. Vex and Vax honestly can’t really argue lol (for comedy though, all jokes)
Percy is generally really not okay. He invented the guns under a ripley (they do not get as sophisticated as we see in canon) before he tried to kill her, and then the Briarwoods decide to ‘take care’ of him instead. I think they’d care less about the emotional manipulation as he’s older and also clearly dangerous as he tried to kill Ripley so they leaned even more on magic.
Cassandra and Percy agree to co-rule Whitestone for now. Cassandra would like to stay with VM but she can see Percy is on the verge of a nervous breakdown. They do co rule but Cassandra finds she takes on most of the ruling, and eventually Percy leaves Whitestone in the middle of the night.
I think she’d join VM to help with the Chroma Conclave and then they eventually run into Percy again (perhaps in the fae wild?). After admonishing him they let him join in on his adventures.

So many hellcheer fics w certain kinks that are extremely triggering and off putting to me and its not even always in a pwp context and its not always tagged either and it feels like its rapidly increasing in presence and frequency and i feel like you could probably piece together what it is from my hints + my previous posts vaguely mentioning it but believe me i have Thoughts and that is 100% choosing violence and anyway. Its in fics. A lot. And its upsetting as a general thing to me but the normalization of it is directly correlated w the lack of tagging it and yeah its just like. Gah
