Me: what if it's Kokichi tho? and the kids are young DICE members, and the "dead wife" he talks about is an older DICE member that left because they got in a relationship with an outsider and left to settle into normal law-abiding lifestyle (it will add a nice layer of conflict to saiou, Kokichi will be trying to keep his distance, maybe rather than hold back entirely, he'll tell Shuichi that what they have can only be casual and hurt him like that), and Shuichi becomes a nanny because he quit being a detective and doesn't know what to do, so he's just trying out local job offers, at the point of considering childcare as an option he's pretty desperate for anything that pays

What do you think Saiou’s favorites are? Songs, colors, foods, seasons, school subjects, etc?
And on the topic of favorites, what’s your favorite Saiou art that you’ve done?
ooooo this is fun, i love thinking about character's interests.
okay so music- i don't have a solid enough idea about them and music to say a specific song, but i can list bands/genres instead.
-Shuichi likes metal, rock, and punk music mostly- with like a touch of chill indie. bands that come to mind i think he's like are Black Veil Brides, Three Doors Down, and Miss May I. (i don't know enough chill indie bands to list any)
-Kokichi's more all over the map. he likes rock, indie, jazz, heavy metal, dark academia playlists, whatever the fuck will wood is doing- all sorts of just totally random crap. he'd like anything from Oingo Boingo to Fish in a Birdcage to Steam Powered Giraffes to Half-Alive. just so long as it gives him brain worms.
Colors are much easier to talk about. i think Shuichi's favorite color is Yellow, and Kokichi's is red.
Foods is harder for me cause i'm a stupid picky eater (adhd go brrrrr) so i myself don't know alot of food flavors. but i can safely say due to my Kokichi having a dulled sense of taste, he ends up making alot of foods and snack for himself that have such potent flavors so he can taste them, and other people can't stand what horrible concoctions he comes up with.
seasons? they both love the fall. they are fall enjoyers through and through (Kokichi even smells like fall- it's only half on purpose tho)
and the school one- idk about Shuichi, maybe literacy? but Kokichi? he's a STEM kid, fucking nerd.

Alright imma say it
It totally makes sense why everyone would be more upset over Kaito's death than Kokichi
Idk why theres this sentiment that Kokichi's desth was unfairly overshadowed by Kaito BUT YEAH NO HARD DISAGREE literally none of those remaining classmates would have any reason to show compassion for kokichi over kaito
Shuichi: as he is mc/player character his perspective matters most, so ill say the most on him. Sorry to saiouma fans (dw i do think the ship is cute but honestly works better under different circumstances for the two) but Shuichi has spent more time with kaito. After Kaede's death, it is Kaito (in Kaito's questionable way) who helped get Shuichi's willpower back. Kokichi says as much in ch 4. With shuichi being a very sensitive detective, he needed that pillar of support from kaito, one kokichi, while providing help in trials, doesnt give emotionally. Sure u can argue bias on Shuichi's part, but it is Kokichi's plot in ch 4 that caused him and Kaito to have a falling out, injured and captured Kaito in a bunker, and is the reason Kaito becomes the blackened Shuichi is forced to exposed and now watch be executed
Maki: Self explanatory af, but kokichi exposed her talent to everyone to have her be isolated due to kokichi's own distaste for murderers, regardless of maki's intent. Kokichi is the one who fucked around in ch 5 with her feelings, making her harbor guilt over supposedly killing kaito. It's his plot that gets Kaito killed off as blackened so yeah dont expect sympathy from her
Tsumugi: while idk if confirmed whether Kokichi had gone off Tsumugi's script, if that is the case, Tsumugi would 100% frustrated for kokichi messing up her plotline. Shes devoted her life to dr and has been a writer in numerous prior seasons. To have some kid try to attack the mastermind directly by messing with the game would to her feel like infringing on the game's intended entertainment. Besides, if everyone else hates kokichi, it's best for her to go along with it to blend in
Himiko: there def is a weird dynamic between the two, with himiko falling for exisal kokichi twice which is weird ... but yeah no overall himiko has a negative opinion of kokichi. While he did indirectly help her releasing her bottled up emotions in the end of ch 3, it's Kokichi’s way of doing things, meaning it usually comes off as rude. Pretty sure what Kokichi (and Gonta to an extent) caused in ch 4 is unforgivable for himiko, since literally everyone liked Gonta. Himiko out of everyone believed kokichi was the mastermind, feeling great despair once he revealed the truth of the outside world. While not specific, himiko is more of a case of kokichi's general creation of distrust in others. In contrast, kaito is uplifitng to himiko, being the one to defend her in ch 3 when tenko's death was ignored and moving the group along during ch 5.
Keebo: keebo admittedly has the most sympathetic view of kokichi after the trial, alluding to his "hopeful" nature and such, as well as his logical understanding of kokichi's motive. But generally, kokichi is just robophobic to keebo for the sake of pestering keebo, as well as asking invasive questions (do robots have di-?)
Kaito: without getting into kaito and kokichi's relationship/rivalry, kaito id argue does have the second most sympathetic reflection on kokichi, providing the group with Kokichi’s last words. Tho he does doubt them, mentioning he believed kokichi's plan wouldnt work (i personally hc that as just bluff to make shuichi feel better tho). And since its kokichi who blackmailed him into the plan, kokichi is in a sense responsible for Kaito's death so he'd probably wanna focus on making Shuichi and Maki feel better
Kokichi is my fav dr character but ngl he's a little shit to the remaining survivors. While i as an audience memebr feel terrible for him, im not upset or shocked by the characters' disinterest in his death

i love the idea of the Ultimate Hunt but at this point in time in the other DR games, everything revealed was either 1) a red herring or 2) not the whole story. so i know the actual Plot probably has nothing to do with the UH in the end, or it was a Good thing, or...

Kokichi Ouma - LIKE I KNOW THE ISSUE WITH THIS ONE! but i related to really hard to him, espeically with the lying thing. Where people would listen/pay attention to you when you make up elborate stories but once you trying to say something truthful and heartfelt you are ignored, dismissed or get told that your issues isn't as important as theirs.
I've learnt not to spread white lies about themselves because that doesn't help me one bit and would actually make my depression and mental state worse because i could only dream to do the shit i would say i did.
Izaya Orihara - kind of in the same boat as Kokichi but this is a character i've always seen myself in since day one. I've always had an obsession with Izaya since the the anime first came out which then lead me to reading the manga & novel and soon writing him as a muse my early teens. I never understood why until like a couple of years ago where i finally was a better mindset to see why i was so drawn to him as both a character and a muse - loneliness.
I've always made friend after friend both in real and online but i never felt close to any of them because i always kept everyone at arm's length due to the fear of being hurt or betrayed which resulted in me always feeling alone.
Sonic The Hedgehog - this is a bit of a weird one but??? i love sonic. like on an obsessive level of love. i've always love this view on life of facing life foward regardless how tough it gets and mowing down whatever gets in myway. he's the exact type of character i needed in my childhood and still is even as an adult.
my motto in life changed from 'just survive until i drop' to 'TAKE LIFE BY THE BALLS AND MAKE IT YOUR BITCH!' and it has helped a lot. i fall back a lot on revisiting old sonic ocs ive made in my childhood as comfort as well as rereading the lil comics i would make for them. some of becoming main stays in my muse filled brain that i always think of when i need a bit of confidence.

Celeste somehow manages to balance on the top of the chair and puts her feet on the seat part, it’s a challenge now to find a chair she can’t sit on (she likes to feel tall even though she’s already the tallest of the class, excluding Yasuhiro because. he’s a grown man)
Asahina manspreads too much, like she looks like she’s doing the splits while sitting
Sayaka always sits close to a wall and she’ll lean back until her chair is leaning against it. It calms her down, but sometimes she forgets when she’s not against a wall and will just fall (Leon also leans, but definitely not as much)
Togami always holds his arms behind the back of his chair. It’s just a stim he does, but he’s convinced the class that it’s some fancy etiquette. Most of the time people think someone snapped and tied Togami to a chair when they see it for the first time
Ibuki sits with no caution, the way she falls in that beach pic??? that’s just how she sits down, full lean into freefall. She breaks a lot of chairs
Peko relaxes her whole body and it always looks like she’s sleeping. She models it after a cat, where she can jump up at any threat, but she ends up actually falling asleep a lot (honestly she has insomnia but she refuses to admit it, so she’s constantly tired)
I don’t know a lot about these guys but I’d like to try;
Kaito sits with his legs up on the armrests. It looks so uncomfortable but he likes it so. the other students are just concerned but letting it happen.
And the mechanic man will sit under the chair. Nobody knows how he does it because he’s so tall, but he will fit under any chair and hang out
Oh and Mikan picks at chairs, she will disassociate and just rip off pieces of fabric or plastic. It scares the shit out of Monokuma - queer eye anon

god okay I couldn’t find the comic it made me think of, but I imagine the first time Makoto sees Celeste sit Like That™️, he accidentally walks in on her and Kyoko and hears Kyoko just very casually ask “are you sitting up there because you want to feel closer to god?”
you know the one with the cat on the counter?? and the artist mentions that it was something that happened between with them and their roommate?? yeah that one!!
anyway he is obviously confused and concerned but slowly comes to realize that oh no. this is literally just how everybody in his class performs normal everyday behaviors. (That being said, he definitely crosses his legs while sitting ❤️)

TW: Animals being neglected
My town does this fair every Fourth of July, it’s pretty fun and I go even tho I don’t celebrate. One of the things I don’t like no I actually hate it is this stand that thinks giving out lizards as a prizes is a great idea. They sell these small little lizards but 5 can be “traded” in for a fucking iguana.
I see six year olds with baby iguanas in a small critter keeper. It makes me upset since I love reptiles and seeing them be used as game prizes is awful. They don’t even have a good set up, they just stuff them in this cage and call it a day.
Then people impulse buy these lizards and don’t think anything of it. Iguanas are not a pet you should impulse buy, actually no pet should be an impulse buy. Iguanas need a lot of care and a big space to live in. The tank could be 4ft x 6ft x 6ft depending on how big the iguana grows. Iguanas can be up to 5-6 ft in length and weigh up to 11-20 pounds.
They’re also very intelligent and can actually remember the person who takes care of them. But it takes them awhile to be comfortable with humans which. So if you get too close to one that isn’t used to you it can result in a nasty bite or being hit in the face with their tail.
But despite iguanas being pet that should be owned by advanced reptile owners these people still sell them to parents who think it will be a good pet for their elementary schooler.
Also people who have no braincells will decide instead of re homing their pet iguana. They will release them into their local park. This is why iguanas are now an invasive species in Florida.

Spy - Ughhhh, another batch of hooligans- Wait, these are kids??? What. Actually feels bad but tries to hide it lmao. Frenchman tries to father 8 traumatized children without actually fathering them while leaving his own son in the dust.
Medic - Oh??????? Fresh samples for experiments???? >:3c Though he’s worried that they’re also going to scream Medic and annoy the life out of him. (Gonta has that covered akfkskkfks)
Engineer -Aww, also feels bad ): someone’s gotta teach these kids the ropes and what better person would be Engie himself. Very nice man. Amazed to find out they’re geniuses and prodigies though. Definitely interested in Kiibo’s creation.
Soldier - Fucking hates them. It's not because they're Japanese. It's because of their stupid colorful hairs that's probably dyed (that's like true to two or one but like, Kokichi's hair is dark purple and it still pisses him off) and the fact that half of the boys are built like sticks
Pyro - New friends!!! :00000 Loves them. Wants to play with them.
Demoman - huh. He tries to see if he’s drunk af when he heard that they’re kids. They don’t look like teenagers. One of them has deeper voice than Heavy. Confused black scottish cyclops. One thing’s for sure is that he’s gonna keep his alchohols away from them.
Heavy - WHAT SICK MAN SENT BABIES TO FIGHT?? Wait they're teens? So they're technically babies??? He has no idea how to deal with them. They’re so wild and strange, he's better dealing with girls
Sniper - An eh reaction. Doesn’t care. Probably wouldn’t treat them as differently. He stays away just in case they try to mess with him
Scout - “Wait what do ya mean they’re younger than me?” Doesn’t like it. At all. They all look cooler than him. One of them is a robot and not that kind of ones like Gray Mann’s. Even if some of them have no combat skills, they’re better at the intellegent department. The youngest can literally chuck him into the sky with no effort and is smarter than him. I've let the concept of The Horrors stew long enough yeah? I'm just gonna explain the idea cause I cant explain how and why without explaining what's fully going on
ok so NHPA is mostly staffed by either old HPA staff that survived the tragedy or FF members who were moved over, the school (and it's siblings HPES and HPMS) are heavily if not primarily funded by the FF and has become kinda a hub for the FF's little pet projects.
The school is still split but in a less obvious way, and while Super High School Levels are still scouted (That's how Kokichi ended up going to NHPA) they still accept students through a regular entrance exam process but they clearly prioritize the Super High School Levels above the talentless kids and dont mix classes between them.
So with the school's quieter prioritization of the super high school levels and their penchant for housing "Pet projects" for the FF, the V3 kiddos ended up being one of those projects (And it game them an excuse to get all of the remnant kids and shuichi in one class without raising too much suspicion "Well we wouldnt want the Super High School Levels to outpace the talentless kids" and all that)
So here's what they did. They slipped a few vaguely worded consent forms into the stacks and stacks of paperwork that had to be signed to attend the school at all and from there took full liberty to play around with the kiddo's brains a bit.
Building off of the NWP they put all the kiddos in a sort of vr experience and while in there, had most of their previous memories locked away (Any time they tried to think of those memories either leading the program to invent temporary new ones that would fade out shortly after exiting the program, or just leave mental static)
The longer the kids spend inside the program the longer it takes for the real memories to come back. Worse comes to worse, the kids will automatically be ejected from the program the split second before they die (they can still feel the pain of that death tho and the placebo effect is a fucking bitch)
As for why it's a killing game at all? Think about it for a second. The first killing game ended with a lot of dead kids but it also gave rise to the Ultimate Hope and killed Junko Enoshima herself once and for all, and the second killing game had no real deaths (as far as they're concerned) and rehabilitated a group of kids who were considered FAR beyond repair, in the eyes of the FF, what's a few broken eggs for the sake of hope?
As for why these kids specifically? For Shuichi specifically, it's a bit of a question of if they would be able to artificially craft themselves a third "Ultimate Hope" and for the kids of the remnants it's the question of if or if not they're naturally inclined toward the more violent path out (the non remnant kiddos being a control group for this experiment) Kokichi himself is just generally someone they're keeping their eyes on alongside Shuichi due to his lineage but they've been watching Kokichi in secret for a long time. (They want to experiment on him and Shuichi SO BAD)

Danganronpa: 10th anniversary outfits review!
So…quick thought here…I have almost no context for any other character outside of dr1, so if u like some of these characters, and I say something construed as mean…sorry?

DANGANRONPA 1:
Makoto Naegi: 7/10
It’s fine, really. Nothing extravagant, nothing stupid
Kiyotaka Ishimaru: 7/10
The only thing I have to say is that I like the color scheme: it takes from his school uniform, and that palette looks great on him!
Byakuya Togami: 8/10
I like it. The fur coat works for his personality, and the color palette works as well.
Mondo Ōwada: 9/10
I’m not exactly sure what this is supposed to be, but it looks great! The palette looks nice and the coat & pants have a really cool design on them.
Leon Kuwata: 7/10
The plaid looks nice, but in all honesty, I don’t really think it fits his character well.
Hifumi Yamada: 9/10
Not gonna lie…I’m actually loving the pinstripes! He kinda looks like a mobster from Guys and Dolls, and considering that’s one of my favorite musicals, it gets an instant high score from me!
Yasuhiro Hagakure: 9/10
That color combo looks really good on him! I’m kinda glad Spike Chunsoft loves putting Hiro in bright clothes, since they fit so well on him!
Sayaka Maizono: 8/10
It’s fairly basic…but it’s cute at least. Also, I like the little detail that she’s holding a yellow rose, since those mean both friendship, and more commonly, jealousy
Kyoko Kirigiri: 7/10
It’s fine. I don’t hate it, but I think they could’ve done a bit better. In all honesty, I think it would’ve been cool if they put her into a “little black dress” like the one in breakfast at Tiffany’s: simple, but elegant nonetheless.
Aoi Asahina: 9/10
I am fully willing to admit I’m biased, so I will. I’m in LOVE with this dress, and Aoi’s rockin’ it!
Tōko Fukawa: 9/10
I really like this dress! The colors, the accessory, the design, her hair, it’s all great!
Sakura Ōgami: 10/10
YESSS QUEEN FUCK IT UUUPPPPP
Honestly, I love this Kimono! The bright pink and yellow, the (I’m assuming) Chrysanthemums, her hair and the decorations, I love it all, and she looks stunning!
Celestia Ludenberg: 7/10
I…kinda like it? The palette’s nice, and the general feel of it is regal-esque, but I personally kinda don’t like it. I feel like they should’ve gone with something more Victorian or Rococo style for her
Junko Enoshima: 10/10
I’m in LOVE with this dress, and it looks gorgeous! I especially love the little masque that pays homage to Monokuma, and the crown being used as kinda like a hairtie! It really looks like something a fashionista would wear!
Chihiro Fujisaki: 7/10
WHY DOES HE LOOK LIKE A LEPRECHAUN AHAHAHAH
I don’t hate it, but they could’ve been just a bit more creative, I think.
Overall: 0/10, no Mukuro outfit

Hajime Hinata: 8/10
I like the white tux, but it looks like a lot of his palette was just eyedropped from his uniform
Rat Man (more commonly known as Nagito Komaeda): 9/10
I love the way this tux looks on him! The white jacket looks great, and so do the designs on it!
Byakuya Togami: 7/10
It’s alright. Nothing bad, nothing new. Maybe if they gave him a different tux design I wouldn’t mind, but as it is, it’s just fine
Gundham Tanaka: 9/10
I really like the accent colors, and the boa is a nice touch as well
I love the hamsters’ outfits! They’re adorable!!
Kazuichi Sōda: 6/10
This isn’t bad, but it just, once again, looks like they just eyedropped his normal uniform colors onto a tux. It’s not bad, but it does feel a bit lazy
Teruteru Hanamura: 9/10
This might seem like an unpopular opinion (and it is)…but I love this outfit! It’s cute, the accent colors and accessories themselves are cute, and Teruteru’s the only boy wearing a cummerbund (fun fact!)
Nekomaru Nidai: 9/10
I’m in LOVE with this guy’s design
I really like the double-breasted jacket (that’s actually what it’s called, I’m not being horny), and the colors look great on him! My only complaint is the fact that he’s wearing boaters. They’re not bad shoes, but I just don’t get why he’s wearing them
Fuyuhiko Kuzuryu: 7/10
I like his color scheme, but if there were any place to put pinstripes, it’s this guy, due to his title. Also, what’s with the rolled up pants? Is he wanting to wear shorts? He does look like a kid…
Akane Owari: 10/10
I ADORE THIS ONE. The pants, the blouse, the color, the CAPE…HOO BOOOYYYYY
