There are only so many fanfics that use the entirety of DC as cardboard cutouts to prop up bat family characters that I can read before I go berserk.

I swear to god. Every character that has ever been shipped with a bat or coexists on the same team as a bat is owed an apology.

How many Young Justice fanfics that solely revolve around Tim must exist? How many Titans fanfics centered only on Dick? Why is it a herculean task to find a Justice League fanfic without Bruce as the main character?

And then even when you do find a fic that seems like it's balanced, everything still revolves around the bat. Like Kon, Cassie and Bart have nothing else going on in their lives except Tim and Tim's issues or thinking about Tim. Like Donna and Wally and Roy just cannot function if they aren't spending every waking moment thinking about Dick.

I'm... Guys. I'm at my limit. I swear to god. We need to make a Batman tag and surgically remove all these fics and quarantine them there. We'll keep the actual DC fics and they can do whatever the fuck they want in their own tag. It's getting ridiculous how hard it is to find fanfic that's actually DC related and isn't just 'The BatFam Show'.

i like to imagine that artemis is always hilariously late to trends. like he’d randomly dab out of nowhere trying to impress everyone, showing he’s NOT boring and one of the twins (heavily embarrassed of course) would be like “ARTEMIS NO YOURE 6 YEARS LATE PLS STOP”

River: Come on Sunlight. Food and movies sound more comfortable than sitting on the bathroom floor. Lucas: I agree, it does. 

He takes the robes, puts on a boxer shorts and then walks out into his bedroom, missing a munchie of course, but he is still okay with Munchie not being here as River is there.  The rest of the afternoon and evening is only interrupted by his security bringing him the food and drinks he ordered, until his phone goes off. Taking a deep breath, he picks up the phone, listening quietly to the voice on the other end, acknowledging on occasion before hanging up. Then he looked at River. 

Lucas: They sent a car.. it will be here in around thirty minutes. As much as I wish for it, you can't come with. -he rested his head on River's shoulder.- I have no idea how long it will take or what they will say.. but I'll tell you when I can?

River nodded and gently took Lucas' hands in his. He wanted to go with him, or get him a new calming charm just to be safe, but he knew he couldn't. Plus, as the head vet, he couldn't stay away from the clinic for long periods of time. With a sigh he nodded.

River: I'll tell you again. If anything happens, anything at all, call for me, please. I'll always have a place for you and I'll be there for you if you need me too. Okay? Call me the moment it's done, okay?

And again he kissed Lucas' hand, letting him leave, so he could get this over with. Several hours later: It had taken much more time than he had imagined, he also had never imagined himself being as strong as he had been there, neither had they. He noticed the worried look of his driver, who he had insisted on being the one to come get him, one last time. 

Lucas: I'm sorry. Thomas: I know, and it's not your fault, their loss. Lucas: I just cost you your job. Thomas: I'll get a new one, never liked these people.

He almost smiled at the comment, it was by now early morning, the talk had gone trough the night, with back and forth between him and his bosses. They had given him an ultimatum, cut all contact with River and that family, and to never set foot at the shelter again. His answer to that was of course a hard no. Which had led to hours of negotiating where they tried to keep him, and him refusing them every time the same person came up. His contract was now ended, they had, with him there made one last post on his social media, where it said that due to unavoidable circumstances, he would no longer work with them, and that all planned concerts for the band were postponed until everything had been settled. After that he was told to change passwords on all his accounts, which he had done.
