Gale originers and friends, is there any actual downside to taking shadow magic in act 2? Some plot thread I missed in act 3? I’m asking for writing reasons but also because I desperately wanted there to be repercussions for doing this and if there were any, I missed em.

Going back to my theory that the Voices are how Quiet sees himself, I mentioned that it potentially makes Cold and Opportunist much sadder.

To go on about what I mean, imagine Quiet siding with Hero after slaying the Princess and deeply regretting his actions, believing himself to be a cold-hearted killer for what he's done, leading to the Spectre where Cold only serves as a reminder of that.

And when Quiet betrays the Princess right as he's about to free her, willingly or not, it's clear that he'd see himself as a backstabbing monster for what he'd done, and Opportunist trying to justify it in The Witch only makes it feel worse.

And then there's the cases where he doesn't regret it, which turn the sadness into horror.

When I said "this post is going to become so long I'll have to split it into two", it was because in my Trivia post n. 3 I originally thought to include the development and growth of Sakura and Syaoran's relationship too.......and then I fully realized what kind of two beasts I was about to deal with and I was like "no way, these need each their own post" They both refer to Sakura's overall growth, but power+self understanding and her relationship with her boy deserve all the right attention and care in two dedicated, separate post.

I'm not sure if it'll be the next one I'll write or if I'll do something similar for YunaAki first....cause honest to god, the times when I got distracted and pulled into YunaAki's story while I was reviewing Sakura's journey were more than one....more than two....more than three, even. 😅

Another post that I ABSOLUTELY need to do, and might take precedence over all the others, is the one about the significance of food in Clear Card, and all the handmade things. Tamagoyaki, macarons, chocomint... You have no idea how grating it was to see during the past 8 years all those comments mocking the presence of food in Clear Card, and presenting it as an irritating flaw in the narrative structure because "it wasted time", when it was clear as hell people weren't understanding the role of food in this story at all. This one should hopefully be shorter so I might address that topic first.

Okay so yesterday I looked through my folders to answer @einsatzzz's ask and I found the one (1) other KHR WIP I had written a couple years ago (I'm pretty sure it was my first KHR work).

And actually, the writing is not ... terrible? Like it's literally one tiny scene and a bit of dialogue for a future one and it's quite good? I don't know if I will continue to write on this WIP because I totally forgot where I was going with it but maybe I can use it for something else.

Something to keep in mind for later.
