What irks me most about the theory where Tamlin is being said to abdicate his title is the fact that it is tied closely with how he was dragged through the mud by Janet to get there. Acotar Tamlin is not someone who would need to do this at all, we wouldn't even be theorizing such a thing. When the canon portrayal and character assassination is the basis of this theory, it kind of means nothing in the end what anyone thinks because, it's finally Janet's choice what to do with him. And she is so uneven with his characterization, using him as she pleases instead of having any kind of integrity while writing him, its hard to believe logic will play a part in his plot at all. To me, as morbid as this sounds, SJM will no way give Tamlin a path where he abdicates his High Lord status with dignity, she will only do so by killing him or by humiliating him further and that is not something I can ever accept, especially if someone of a different court comes to snag his power and title from him.

meet the mancusos (in order from left to right)
Silvia Mancuso (socially awkward, loyal, peaceful) --- grew up in tartosa as an only child with her mother (vita) and father. mysteriously disappeared 15 years ago.
Dom Mancuso (loner, cat lover, slob) --- born and raised in tartosa, but lives in san myshuno working as a salaryperson; loves his two children (nico and priscilla), but does not visit tartosa often after losing his wife.

I try!! I hope if anyone follows me and has commented and I haven't replied, they know that sometimes I do not know how to express my gratitude and I do try and open my inbox and clean it up but I get in my own head about it. it really means a lot that people take the time to read and especially comment, especially in a time where engagement with organic (not ai) art (and ml fanworks in general) seems to be low.
6. What's the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?

8. Do you get hate on fics?
no, but I always assume someone's going to haha especially on tbsym

yeah. the kind that involves sex. preferably with emotions involved like some kind of extended sexual metaphor for feelings. an ouroboros of sexuality and emotions.

hmmmm. we'll see how I feel after the hanahaki fic, but "my flower is ephemeral". plot takes it out of me and that one requires it, but I do have a solid, good opening and ending and all that.
16. What are your writing strengths? What are your writing weaknesses?
moving past the urge to say "I would need someone to tell me" in order to not be a wet blanket, the things I tell myself I am good at since people say it often are: my prose is poetic / I write longing very well / someone once said for "hearth" that I wrote first love very well (and someone else said that for tbsym, tender like a bruise is how I think they said it)
weaknesses? personally felt: pacing, dialogue. these are things I can get over I think. and some other wetblanket stuff ajfhsdhfsdhfb like I don’t know if I get the characters right, etc
18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language for a fic?
I am not sure I have any thoughts about this lmao
19. First fandom you wrote for?
buuuuuuuuuuuuuuh south park. lmfao. it was literally more than a decade ago. unless you count the special episode I wrote for a Nickelodeon show before I even knew that fanfic was, and my dad encouraged me to send it to Nick Inc or whatever for suggestion lmfao.
20. Favourite fic you've ever written?
I think it would probably always be tbsym, even through the flaws.

OC Evolution is... funny.
So, once again I found Mila’s old Picrew ref and... boy, did she change a LOT from this.
Course if we wanna go even further back, there was when she was a twin OC back when I was 11 and in recent years, it’s been fun going back to OC’s, I used to have and revitalize them into well... proper characters. Which is how she got her start, down to changing her name from Melody to Mila because it suited her better.
First we had this, where she was more soft spoken, still had some of her punk origin with the ear piercings... This was in 2020, when I was trying to and initially could not get a beat for the kind of story I wanted to tell. I had ideas... boy did I have a LOT of ideas. She was honestly more of a girly girl and while goth, was more gothic lolita... and than I realized, that didn’t really work with her profession and it didn’t suit her. I also wanted to do other things with her but talked myself out of it...
Then came 2022, when Aileen visited and we binged season one of SRMTHFG and she kicked me to give writing a fict for it a try and I wanted Mila along for the ride again.
And that’s how we got THIS version of her. This is where her real personality, started to come through. She was no nonsense, still knew how to have fun, but she also had that gentleness to her still... at this point I was using a base and decided...
This ain’t her. Because once again her personality made the deciding factor and after awhile of writing ReIgnition, THIS wasn’t it.
Thus, we get to this.
Embraced her gothic side, with declaring she was never going to fully outgrow it. Brought back the piercings. Probably had too much fun picking outfits for her, buuut that’s the fun of vroid studio. This is, what I can confidently say is her.
Mila is a no-nonsense, snarky, fiery young woman who doesn’t put up with crap from anyone and I mean ANYONE. Passionate for her job as a florist and working hard to upkeep her parents legacy, she runs Hanamura’s Botanicals with an iron fist. She’s skilled with flower language, ikebana, basically if it involves plants, it’s in her wheelhouse.
A former singer, who’s band Cosmic Void disbanded after a certain incident on Shuggazoom, she still practices and plays guitar in private but it’s a hobby now. She’s never sure if she’ll ever get to perform again, but she still uses her vocal training... Sometimes to others’ chagrin. (She can belt out a death metal scream, that’d wake the dead)
She takes care of the family home and makes sure Chiro has a place to always return to. She’s had a hard time finding the balance between being “Big sister” and “Mom” and she’ll be the first to tell anyone who asks, that she has one kid already. It wasn’t easy, none of it ever was, but she has no regrets...
Well, except maybe letting him go out on a certain fateful day to the outskirts of the city...
It’s kinda funny how figuring her out, also helped in figuring out what kind of story ReIgnition was going to be, as while she’s a main driving force... she’s not the main character. That, belongs to Chiro. Mila is just along for the ride, albeit mostly against her better judgement or outright determination to get involved.
So yeah, just my rambles about my girl and what went into figuring out what I wanted her to be.
Honestly, I just like to think that my childhood self would be happy to see where I’ve gone with that first OC.
