I kind of wish Tumblr had a function to "snooze" a particular blog and keep it off your dashboard for a few days, without having to unfollow and remember to re-follow later. I don't typically mind scrolling past the posts about stuff that's not for me or the surge of posts when someone I follow gets obsessed with a new topic, etc., but when internet arguments start up, sometimes it's just like "I respect your right to argue this trivial thing to the bitter end on your own blog, and I hope you're enjoying yourself, but I'd really rather not watch this unfold for the next few days."
(Note: Not vagueblogging about any mutuals here. It's literally just a one-sided follow and an argument where both sides strike me as taking weirdly extreme positions in a way that's touching a nerve for me.)

I was there for some of the SU freaks from 2018-2020 but PLEASE feel free to regale, I'm here to relive & be mad /LH SILLY
Ngl I think I'll use this ask as an opportunity to give everyone Kirm lore™️. The SU bulletpoint WILL be here but;
Semi-cognitive 'Kirm Bullies People :(' saga;
tldr: Back in mid-late 2018, freshly 18 me took notice of this particular person who was vagueblogging my friends in the RPC (roleplay community, think of it like a collaborative fanfic community if you're unaware) on the basis that my friends didn't want to interact with this person. After I decided to do some digging I decided to confront this person (who was well over 10 years my age) and told them to stop. And I left it at that.
Later I found out that were posting our private dms in their personal server and many of my friends told me other things about this person and how they were scared to speak up, so I naturally did some digging and found out this person was. Blatantly homophobic. Like, 'I respect gays but don't condone their lifestyle' homophobia. So, I called them out. Things snowballed and I was sort of thrust into the position of 'make callouts on weirdos.
Things that happened to me in 2018-2021 (broadly). Please note that every callout I have vocally supported / assisted in creating had plenty of evidence to prove the wrongdoings of folks;
I was told I'd go to jail and look 'good in orange' for calling out this guilttripping homophobe by somebody who was pregnant at the time. Yes, she took time out of her day to cry about somebody cyberbullying her homophobic friend instead of spending time with her partner.
Another homophobe (who was later revealed to be anti B/_M and pro-trum///p, fun) going up to bat and constantly trying to smear me while victimizing herself for years
Somebody I told off for forcing nsfw content on people because they forced their 30+ female mario character rp blogs that oversexualized them onto people at random decided to stalk me for multiple months and tried to rally a hate forum to harass me by using a family vacation photo I posted.
Was called the R slur for putting an ableist transphobe on blast
I was called 'elitist' and 'fac1st' by another pro-trum///p jackass because I called them weird for being very passive aggressive towards people not wanting to interact with them
Pr0-cop weirdo & friends got very very mad at me for taking a screenshot of a public blog and tried to frame me as a 'rich white woman who'd never be profiled by c0ps', tried to threaten multiple people in the rpc, including poc, of reporting their 'IPs to the p0lice for cyberstalking'
Basically being called a stalker, harasser, bully, etc for just taking screenshots and informing people of what URLs to block
Somebody who likes hp a lot and victimizes themselves over liking it apparently talking shit about me to this day because I rightfully grilled them for supporting an abuser a few years back
Broadly speaking, the SU rpc hates me because I assisted in boosting callouts against their 'golden gooses'. You know, the people who fetishmined and guilt-tripped as if they were being paid for it. Also a lot of oc drama and a golden goose accusing somebody of oc theft because they made an oc of the same rock they used, fun. I was accused of writing a callout I didn't even write because one of these golden geese recognized me in a rpc and screamed, despite the fact if you read that callout you would've known I didn't write it because the author identified themselves.
Also if anybody 'recognizes' themselves from this post, didn't you accuse me of being a stalker for looking at your blog and gathering evidence for like, a week at post. Why are you still here. Or, if you're a friend of any of these people in 2023 for some reason, fuck off, you're only giving your friend more stress by being their messenger. You're a shitty friend. Lol. Poor Kirm living in your head, still? Pay me reparations, lmao.

Hi! My name's Amata (Amy for short), I use he/she (or almost any) pronouns, and I can be your proship cardgame nerd writer mutual! :3
I've been selfshipping forever, but only discovered and joined the community in February 2022! My main and only serious romantic F/O is Seto Kaiba, obviously. Detailed F/O list on my carrd; I am comfortable sharing all of them, even my husband. ❤️
I follow back from @whats-amata-you
Tumblr media
About Me
I'm 30. Get off my lawn! /j
I am transmasc nonbinary, asexual, and demiromantic.
I'm autistic and mentally ill (primarily C-PTSD and DID).
I'm figuring the DID thing out but other system members include fictrojects and post-fictrojects of some of my f/os; Seto in particular is both an f/o and a member of my system. It's complicated.
About This Blog
It's mostly me ranting like a lunatic about my fictional cardgame fanatic bazillionaire/headmate husband. If extensive rants in the tags and regular spazzy loveposting isn't your thing, this may not be the blog for you. XD
When I'm not screaming my adoration for Kaiba from the metaphorical rooftops, I'm yammering with my mutuals or shitposting about Yu-Gi-Oh!. This isn't a fanblog, but it sure looks like one sometimes.
This blog is safe for work; anything mildly spicy will be tagged as #tw suggestive. Those posts are extremely rare, though.
I love ask games, but am stupid slow with answering them. Sorry about that.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
DNI/BYF
I consider DNIs to be performative at best; at worst, they straight-up advertise to the exact assholes you don't want to have interacting with you that they can easily get under your skin. Therefore, I do not list a specific DNI. I know who I interact with, and the block button and I are BFFs.
I do make an honest effort to check and respect the DNIs of others. If, however, I have interacted with you and you are concerned that I may fall somewhere on your DNI criteria, please feel free to either DM me to clarify (if you have questions) or simply block me. I will not be offended or bother you to ask why, I promise. ❤️
This blog is proship/comship/profic/etc. The real term is “anti-harassment” honestly but like whatever.
This blog is a discourse-free zone.
This blog is extremely and indiscriminately hostile to any form of harassment or bullying. This includes anon hate/askbox harassment and spam, DM harassment, following people to other apps, doxxing, SWATing, rumor-mongering, callout posts except in very specific kinds of cases, broadcasting blocklists, passive-aggressive vagueblogging, etc, etc. I'm fucking tired. I will never participate in this stuff, and I will block anyone who engages in it too often, even if we've been mutuals for years.
I have triggers, but I do not make them public knowledge because I prefer not to tell assholes exactly how to trigger me. My triggers are need-to-know only. I will notify mutuals via DM or anon ask if I need something tagged for filtering purposes.
Those who are only passingly familiar with Yu-Gi-Oh! could be forgiven for thinking Seto is underage. He is not. You can find more information in this post, but honestly if it only matters if we’re talking about my irl headmate husband. The fictional character is fiction so it wouldn’t really even matter if he was.

To keep this as short and concise as possible...
Somebody (I won’t be showing their URL because I don’t want this person to get harassed, but if any of you manage to find out who this is, please keep it to yourself) in the DB RPC decided to vagueblog me over this post I made (+ vagueblog the people who liked or in general showed support for it) regarding how gross it is for characters to call Saiyans “monkeys, apes, etc” -
Tumblr media Tumblr media
(Putting a sc of my post here to show the timestamp. The odds of them NOT talking about me here are veryyyy slim.)
And all I have to say is...Wow. Just wow.
1) Way to immediately throw around the typical “snowflake” insult. Like that alone isn’t VERY telling. But to then go on and insult me, saying I live in “stupid ass projections” and that I should “get lost, don’t be a part of the fandom anymore so I don’t become an eyesore to everybody else” is really just. Going the extra mile to be a douchebag, huh?
2) Since this person didn’t bother to ask me in private why I feel it’s racist to call Saiyans such labels and why I feel the way I do in general (no no, instead they chose to publicly lambaste me), I’ll explain it here.
To start off, it is actually shown in canon that Vegeta (along with Nappa and Raditz) hate being called a monkey or an ape or w/e. Goku didn’t have to deal with living under the oppression of Frieza and the Frieza Force, so such a slur doesn’t hit him quite as hard.
Even if it DID or DIDN’T for either of them...WHO CARES? That STILL doesn’t change the fact that it’s LITERALLY A SLUR IN-UNIVERSE. FRIEZA THREW IT AROUND TO DEGRADE SAIYANS. ZARBON, DODORIA, AND OTHERS DID THE SAME.
Bulma calling Vegeta that isn’t cute, or right, nor is it the case for any other character calling Saiyans that. And before someone goes “they’re fictional characters so who cares lmao” - DUH. I’m well aware they’re fictional.
It’s the principle. The principle behind willingly using a slur that you know has zero positive connotations. Be it for ficitional characters, IRL people - racism is racism to me, and people having no issue with referring to an oppressed race (that faced near total genocide) with a word that they know is a slur is HELLA off-putting.
( Not to mention that...you know. “Monkey”, “ape”, etc are also IRL slurs used for Black people. So there’s that added weight, to hopefully further show just how freely using those particular words to insult / demean whoever you’re talking about is incredibly sus. Point blank period. )
In my eyes, it just shows how ignorant and tone-deaf said person is. That’s all.
...Oh and, I’m not going anywhere btw. I have no plans to ditch my DB blogs currently. So sorry, but my “““snowflake””” ass is staying put for now :)

Someone dropped this in my submission box instead of ask box, “So I’m trying to genuinely understand what you’re saying is you understand corporate execs at the CW had a hand in the ending of supernatural? I’m not judging not attacking I swear I’m just trying to make sense of it because I had no idea about any of this up till now because I had stayed out of online fandom because well for years it felt big but anyways am I getting this right?”
---
The CW has a hand in everything. Here’s how this generally works.
The authors have ~relative~ freedom on a show. That is to say, the execs really don’t sit there splitting the nuances of the storytelling the fandom is receiving. They generally don’t even identify major markers that any of us would know (see: not even recognizing what the Roadhouse is.) -- we all knew the original ending had TFW at the Roadhouse as framed and spoiled by 15.04 among other details, and the whole “heaven/mental bar” theme from DSOTM, Nihilism, and Last Call all amplified this as an inevitability--but when you ask about “hey, is there a bar in heaven?” and get a “no?” that tells you they don’t even understand *ancient* plot beats like the Roadhouse, much less the ramifications of what it’s supposed to entail. Oh look at that, the roadhouse was just in fucking heaven like we said, but you identified it as a “cabin” because of filming locations and your basic notes.
Corporate has very basic compliance demands. They expect X, Y, and Z. What X Y and Z are across different shows vary depending on their markets. As long as the authors operate within X Y and Z, the corporate face essentially works off of synopsis of pitches and ideas.
This is also why I’ve talked about queer writing history and people being careful what they call queerbait: you don’t know what their X Y and Z are. The WB for example does not really CARE about representation. I’ve blogged about this often. We’re dollar signs. If they can package a new product to market it explicitly as LGBTQ fare, then they’ll turn you into a revenue machine by feeding you that particular fodder. When it comes to legacy shows--which is funny, because when the suit went off in my DM about this, they used the exact same phrasing as me--they’re going to play it safe, especially if they don’t truly understand the returns from the demographics they’re observing.
The space between X Y and Z is where the authors have liberty to push and, the longer and harder they push, the louder the content is allowed to get.
Here! I’ll even quote them directly, somewhat truncated because they ranted for fucking PARAGRAPHS.
“In reference to the media landscape, on a corporate level we do not distinguish fandoms. [...] That said, legacy shows such at Arrow, Supernatural, and even Flash are relics and we never really endeavored to reinvent the wheel on a corporate level, we are more focused on shows that are newer and still in our pipeline to premiere. [...] As for social media like all businesses and brands the engagement itself is key, but the content of the engagement is mostly irrelevant, though every show does have certain keywords that are often used in conjunction with harsher interactions blacklisted.”
The funny part is, they thought they were preaching to me like this was new information, but those of you that have been around my blog will PROBABLY RECOGNIZE this is almost VERBATIM exactly what I have told everybody over the years. Enough I half-suspect some trolls out there will think i wrote it myself and made it up and lob that accusation around. But there’s about 50 people that watched this conversation as it unfolded.
If you guys get mad? You’re still giving them PR. If you engage the content? You’re giving them PR. If you guys get bitchy ENOUGH? They completely blacklist a certain kind of engagement. I have literally been telling you all of this for years.
They don’t care who you are or what you want, just if you’re watching and what they at-best roughly estimate your demographic as desiring. So for example, Supernatural reading as a largely non-urban white demographic in its viewership, especially with a heavier lean in red states than most shows on the network, they presume to cater to what they perceive that demographic wants, rather than individualizing the understanding of the content, because they do not distinguish the shows or fandoms. “Oh, heavier republican white non-urban demographic” is where their understanding ends at, which is why they’re going to be utterly mystified why even my trump-voting republican neighbor from rural Alabama looked at the end result and went “what the fuck?” -- they weren’t expecting a big gay confession, but they were expecting a different sort of final tone.
Of course they’re never going to take that on for themselves and go “wow, we’re giant blazing dumbasses that understand nothing about the show!” -- they’ll, for example, claim they don’t leave network notes, when they’re still the ones passing material along about demographics and expectations etc etc. Their notes are *basic*. They do not leave *extensive* notes. Because extensive notes require extensive understanding of the content.
So for example: Berens spent since S9 slowly gaying up our show. Since they do not pay attention to the fine details of the story contents (lol no bar in heaven lolololol just a cabin lololol), he never got a note to *stop*. But it was not within the original structure plans and didn’t technically fit the demographic notes. The show continued to get aggressively gayed up, and Berens never really signed a note like “hey, I’m gaying it the fuck up” so even fandom reporters were going “THERE’S NO INTENT THERE!!!!!” -- berens operated in his very basic X, Y, Z landmarks to expand content within a story the suits literally do not pay the fuck attention to.
Corporate’s understanding is basic: dudes stabbing monsters and brothers against the world. Play in that box and keep these demographic notes in mind. You’re good.
They’ll NEVER mention blacklisting issues directly beyond what they admitted in the above quote but I DO remind you I have ranted ON AND ON AND ON how much Destiel fandom shot themselves in the goddamn foot with a fucking bazooka with the Chad Kennedy incident years ago. Others like Emily handled it intelligently to inform the *authors*. No, the network will never tell you if they blacklisted Destiel, but I informed you pretty heavily years ago that odds are, yeah, they probably fucking blacklisted Destiel.
Add in paying attention to the things Berens himself liked (if you don’t believe, scroll to Nov 5 on his tl)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Like, listen. berens knows exactly what he did and did the best he could do in the situations that were set up for him. And, frankly, I had been talking about this season as a writer room rebellion all year--just like corporate DID leave them a note in S11 that they couldn’t kill god. But if they couldn’t kill him or cage him, they would find another way. In 17 we said goodbye to Meredith and, in a way, to a MAJOR portion of Dean’s substantial story. In 18, we said goodbye to Bobo, and frankly all the parts that grew into queer Castiel that came with it. 19 and 20 became residual notes of hitting expected plot beats on the head on a rhythm, tying off godforces, and then just sliding into the Dabb subversion of them having learned to grieve, let go, and process emotions-- just the surrounding delivery left the feeling of more ~wanting~ on that front which is understandable.
But these are the kind of things people don’t even ~think~ about. This is WHY I’ve turned myself into a bulletshield protecting Berens’ work for YEARS while people yelled about queerbait not understanding the years of process he used in his unbabysat space to make something unable to dodge.
More posts he liked:
Tumblr media
This isn’t a solo story. At the same SDCC he leaned over to my friend and grinned, whispering, “I hope you like what I did this year.” -- he knew. He knew and he fought his ass off but there was an end of the line.
That end of the line having an extra note or two to drop in the finale--never a big gay confirmation, just a “everyone’s there together, assume what you want” --is its own thing. As it is, Jensen even remarked how much of his dialogue got cut in final draft out of 18, and if the brazil dubbing footage leak tells me anything, they got the raw version before it was cut. And before they ADR’ed Dean’s sniffling collapsed against the wall. They had everything right, beyond the fact that there was supposed to be more dialogue from Dean along the lines of, “You can’t go”, or “you can’t leave” (difficult to determine what a ESL person seeing an english draft then yelling in portuguese then translated back to english meant, specifically, but something in that ballpark -- just like “don’t do this” came as “no it’s not” through the translation pipeline), and other similar minor bartering about this. And we’re not even gonna get into Dean’s hilariously loudly ADRed sniffling on the wall. Here, Jensen, breathe IMMEDIATELY into this microphone.
But they’re never going to tell you this. Of course they’re not.
Summarily, corporate had half a year of having to re-manage scheduling everybody’s flights and planners during covid rewrites to stare directly into the huge gay abyss and fuck things up.
It’s all about the unmonitored space vs the monitored space. Of COURSE they’re never going to fucking tell you these things.
FRANKLY I am DYING to see the Portuguese dub of the show to see what the fuck they do with it, all things considered. I’m pretty sure the suit in my inbox that’s trying to vagueblog around things sideways now never accounted for the fact that there’s copies of the raw available in some parts of the world. I’m... pretty sure they thought they were my only leak source in fact.
Either way--it’s not that corporate micromanages and passes constant notes. It’s that they gloss over vague summaries and plans, drop a few base expectations and performance boxes. It’s up to the authors how to kick up dust inside those boxes.

Again...a-fucking-gain
February 24th, 2021. We’re 7 months into The Old Guard fandom and we’re back on this bullshit.
I’ll be as brief as I can.
We all had to endure this discourse that goes way back to july (literally as long as the fandom existed) and we have gotten nowhere. Nowhere. I don’t know how many times and in how many ways I can say this but sexual positions tells you nothing about how a character is/will be portrayed in a fic. Nothing.
Top!Joe has racist implications? Yes.
You know what also has racist implications? That’s right...Bottom!Joe.
You know what other types of fics could have racist implications? Fics that have no sex at all!!
I love it how some of these blogs have said that top/bottom is a small part of the problem and the focus is actually Joe’s characterization but it all starts, ends and goes back to freaking top/bottom dynamics. I wonder, do these people read T or G-rated fics? Does those count at all when speaking about characterization or it all really boils down to who gets to insert what inside the other??
I’m tired of having to justify my likes and dislikes, of the vagueblogs, being called racist and seen as less than by people who probably don’t even read topJoe fics just because I prefer to consume and create content with topJoe.
READ. THE FICS. FIRST.
You don’t like topJoe? Great.
You think they switch? Also great.
I don’t care!! I only care when you start caring and judging what I like. There are so many different reasons as to why someone might prefer topJoe and automatically putting a stamp of racism on it reeks of performative activism. So it doesn’t matter how much research and care I put into writing Joe, if I still headcanon him as a top...I’m still racist??
If you’re new in the fandom, this is for you: WRITE WHATEVER YOU WANNA WRITE.
You have a really cool headcanon that has been in your mind for months and you just need to type it down? DO IT.
You have a really niche story idea that you think no one would care about? DO IT.
You have an epic WIP planned of 30k words? DO IT.
You have a desire to write about Joe railing Nicky until the ends of time?
FUCKING DO IT.
You like the opposite? FUCKING DO IT AGAIN.
I want people to write the content that they wanna see out there and that makes them happy - not because they feel pressured, their white guilt is telling them to, or because they feel morally obliged to close alleged gaps (yes, alleged). But simply, because it’s what works best for them. Because at the end of the day is not about what you write it, is about how you write it.
The only thing this fandom owes each other is respect. And not even that is present here with the harassment, death threats and bullying (funny how that’s never mentioned).
Check your biases, create the content you wanna see and have fun.
This discourse was never because there is rampant racism in the old guard fandom. it’s just because their prefered sexual dynamic to read about isn’t the most popular one. Fandom will always skew a certain way first and will never be 50/50. Most creators and fans in this fandom agree that they switch and writes them as such. This is legit one of the most equal fandoms when it comes to top/bottom dynamics I’ve ever been in.
Most importantly: READ THE TOPJOE FICS AND SEE IT FOR YOURSELF.
Racism is a factor. It unfortunately will always be a factor, but discussing it with no nuance and context and just waving the racism card everytime someone writes something that you don’t like, without giving any factual, plausible argument as what exactly makes that particular fic racist, is bastardizing the entire conversation.
Vagueblogging, sending hate anons and making passive-agressive posts is not education. It’s performative activism.
The responsability of educating ourselves is ours first and foremost. But answering people with disdain and dismissing them as immediately racists is not contributing to writing Joe sensitively as a more fully-fledged character. I assure you.

about top joe discord
LET ME ADDRESS A FEW POINTS:
There has been many fear and anxiety regardless the top!joe discord I made. I understand how it gives my discord a bad reputation. Somebody has kindly reached out to me to ask me addressing several points, which I’m now gonna clarify:
1. I am racist, I asked why, and they said mostly because of my dismissive behavior to people who called me out for drawing yusuf adorned in gold jewelry which made their friends feel unsafe. So, I am a muslim and was raised in a muslim household and community. I am fucking brown.
I didn’t say it because you don’t need to know that about me. What bothers me is how some people feel the need to come to my inbox informing me “maam yusuf is a religious muslim who prays 5 times a day and do all the supplementary prayers all while he drinks alcohol and fuck nicky in the dailies, he wouldnt be wearing gold maam no maam.” as if I didn’t know any better. so please, now don’t do that. If you care so much about the littlest details like wearing gold then you’ll also call out yusuf because he draws living beings and drinks champagne. yes it’s true muslim men are forbidden from wearing gold AND silk but let’s not forget, nothing in the comic and movies imply yusuf has ever been religious. It’s easier to see nicolo as religious because he was a fucking priest. Yusuf was a fucking merchant, it’s easy to see that he’d be less faithful because he would have been travelling and seen many kind of people to broaden his horizons and not contained to a little bubble of hyper religious community. However, let me remind you: whether yusuf AND nicolo are religious or not is entirely UP TO THE AUTHOR/ARTIST. It’s totally fine to make him religious and if you can respect it THATS GREAT, I ALSO LIKE HIM THAT WAY, but please remember it’s not even canon and hey sometimes I just draw things because I like the aesthetics. Also please, do not harass writers for getting a thing or two incorrect, even white people cannot get christianity correct, even between two muslims could be a disagreement whether this fic’s yusuf is problematic or not. I wouldn’t even expect anything more and THAT’S OKAY. Just don’t be an ass to muslims of color in real life and don’t fall into the believe that it’s a religion of violence. you can say that greg made him that way bc he knew nothing better but hey, I have no problem with that. again, it’s fine to make him religious, I’d be delighted but it’s ALSO fine to make him not religious.
2. I think that people only write Top!Nicky out of political correctness. OKAY. I apologize for this. I thought like this because I have accounts telling me that they were pressured into writing top!nicky or they wanted more readerships so I make a BIG assumption. I realized this is only a small part of switch and top!nicky fics and the big bulk of this must be out of genuine care. So yeah, I apologize for thinking that people only write top!nicky out of political correctness. I think writers should be allowed to write whatever they want. Yes this includes top!Nicky. And in whatever kinks they want it. However, this still doesn’t change that the discourses do scare people away from writing top!joe. Write top!nicky however you want, but stop vague-blogging about top!joe. racism isn’t inherent to top!joe and you can always remind people to be mindful with their writings but discouraging people from writing top!joe is not the solution.
3. Top!joe is racist and people in the discord are racist. Okay, I am gonna touch several aspects why top!joe discord is considered racist: (1) because I don’t like to switch them, therefore I am racist. Sorry that’s not how it works. I have a clear preference and that’s just how I roll. Besides, a lot of people in the discord (including me) think either they switch (because they are 900 yo) or joe just doesn’t like bottoming. I’m not the kind of people who refers to reality for fiction I consume but people who prefer to top or to bottom exist (2) i want to be away from accountability and responsibility. Nope. The reason I made it is because I wanted to gather people with same interest as mine.
4. I paint Yusuf as aggressive and the whole discord like him being an aggressive top. I think this is the only reason why the discord is seen in a negative light. Because wow what a coincidence that someone vagueblogged my discord at the day I celebrated about Nicky suggesting 20 years and wrote a post about how Joe is allowed to be angry. And beside someone made the WRONG assumption that we are focusing on Joe’s anger and violence (what). Okay, I don’t know how to break this down. But I will try. First, yes I was overjoyed at the news. Because I’m one of the people that do not like feral!nicky headcanon. I liked it at first bc it was funny but then it was twisted into Nicky being cold. So I don’t like it (lol), I still like it though but like I don’t seriously think that way. However, I never liked the idea that Nicky suggested higher than Joe. Because then his character just doesn’t click with me, there was a cognitive dissonance for me because joe clearly says nicky’s heart overflows kindness, you can see nicky as a medic in the credit montage. Also, from their body language and from the way the movie set em up, I think Joe is the one who suggested higher and I am glad to be proven right. Second, I did write a post about how Joe is allowed to be angry at Booker. People agreed with me, so I was not alone. But the reason I wrote that post is not because I wanted to paint yusuf as aggressive, but because I’m tired at people who think Joe shouldn’t display any negative emotions. I think it’s out of character. I do NOT think Joe is aggressive. That is NOT his wholeass personality. If you looked at my tog art tag, never once I portrayed Joe as anything aggressive. If I do, please show me. Third, people are conflating this with my post where I reblogged with a comment that implies aggressive Joe isn’t racism. Okay in this, the context is IN BED. It’s Joe being aggressive in BED. It’s literally BED ROLES AND FANTASY. I don’t even have a particular scenario in my head when I reblogged that, the original post clearly refers to bed roles with manhandling and kinks etc. like, why would you spank someone in public? Lastly, about the discord, NOPE, most people in the discord agree that Joe is either a GENTLE DOM or SERVICE TOP. But in my opinion, if someone likes Joe as an aggressive top (again, bed roles baby) I really don’t think it’s racism. It’s just... projection?
anyway, back to joe’s emotions, these are posts from a moroccan man (paragraph #7) and a brown woman whose posts I agree with. Let’s be real, people of color are expected to shut up in favor of white people’s fragile feelings.
Now, about racism in fandom. I understand the concern because muslim men are painted as violent and aggressive. You know what I will never forgive those radicals for taking away innocents lives and to leave a lasting damage in how muslims are perceived in the west. However, you have to keep in mind, Joe in the movie is far from being stereotyped. I mean, Gina and Marwan practically greenlit him? Now, you might have concerns that writers are gonna turn him into a walking stereotype which is... okay, I understand that concern. But the solution is to communicate this ‘hey I think you make him too stereotypical in this etc etc’ not “write more top!nicky AND shame top!joe” because again, top!joe is not inherently racist.
also some people mentioned that they hope I recognize racial bias in the ship. dude, that goes without saying, all aspects of your life will be influenced by racial biases. however, this kind of thing is not specific to fandom/shipping. Like I said I’m fucking brown, friends and families with facial features that cater to white expectation are treated better. I did say at the bottom of this post, yeah I did notice why it’s always a brown character who’s always openly mad. And that’s in itself a form of racial bias. Racial biases affect everyone, white or POC, it doesn’t matter. But I got an issue with how people think this is racism. like how convenient, if by falling to racial biases mean you are a racist then what about those white people who created this racial biases in the first place? and I noticed the persons who got the audacity to cry about everything in this fandom is white?? I mean okay, they don’t know what I am, but not everyone is comfortable with sharing their private information like ethnic group, faith, etc. what if they really don’t want to share it? Because like you said, racial bias, whether good or bad will affect me. Now, I don’t know what white people are feeling, I’m not white. However, based on my interactions with them. We’re all just people sharing same interest, it could be they fall into racial biases, but all we shared about are just regular HCs. Even people making a conscious effort to combat racial bias still in essence fall for racial bias. You just cannot escape it.
According to this post, fandom assumes that the bottom is the proxy of writers, I don’t think this is applicable to everyone but let’s just say it’s true and people tend to write about their projection better so I’m gonna assume the racism part comes from the fact that..yeah I do think the bottom usually gets more fleshed out as a result of them being the writers proxy, so somebody posted this in the discord which I agree because yes I do think there’s a lack about yusuf’s background especially when it comes to crusade era:
Tumblr media
but since I know most writers aren’t muslims, to me it’s not so much about racism but they simply know nothing about it, and not always out of ignorance either but in this climate, if you get a thing or two wrong you’d get harassed. so *shrugs* I understand the reluctancy. But here’s the thing, this is not about top/bottom issue but because most of the fandom are white so they have more freedom in writing the white character. Anyway, plenty of people have projected themselves into yusuf already, the whole “top/bottom” thing in this fandom is not even a thing. Yes, some writers project on the bottom so if you prefer bottom!joe that’s fine, somebody in the discord is doing a research and it turned out top!joe wasn’t even a CLEAR majority in JULY. So clearly they got their share already?
Tumblr media
so please, let’s stop with the vitriol. if people are preferring top!joe it’s clearly because of different preferences. it’s not that deep. it’s the same way with how some people are preferring top!nicky. But we’re being driven out based on a hypothetical scenarios? like what do you want? for us to cease existing??? don’t be ridiculous.
I know people won’t listen to me. So this is my suggestion: LETS JUST IGNORE THINGS YOU DON’T LIKE. LET’S ALL JUST AGREE TO DISAGREE.

Oh i love you for saying Lazaefair's name outloud. Not just you, I appreciate everyone in this fandom who had the guts to call her out.I understand people who are hesitant to call her out, cause she's a snake who have an exceptional knack in gaslighting and turning anything and everything in her favour. Lazaefair, Len and their cronies have hurt so many people inside and outside tog fandom and i won't be surprised if people come out saying they had suicidal thoughts because of these people. These racist antisemitic people needs to be called out ( and i loved the way how you mentioned the cronies without saying their name) . Their 'All and more' discord server is the most toxic racist discord in this fandom cause all they do is cover up all the racist and antisemitic bullshit done by their mods. (well, people do have reciepts of all the things they said in that server)
They should be held accountable for the things they did. They should apologize for every horrid things they did to poc, muslims, jews, writers, content creators and even fans.
Then there are the 'silent ones' ( theres a lot) or the blind devotees (yeah they too follow lazaefair and lens bible) who just keeps on making their cute little posts and a reblogging posts as if nothing happened in this fandom. All i have to say is they are straight up racist. Its like they are all part of this cult.
I am really holding myself back from naming the cronies because its not my place. But they all need to be called out by their victims.
Remember these people have been decieving and bullying people in the tog fandom for a year. For a YEAR they disguised as adults engaging in race conversations and fighting racism but they were like actual 12 year olds making "lists" and sending death threats to people.
But i have to warn you a particular "newb" or a different crony is gonna send you some death threats for mentioning lazaefairs name. Just be prepared to fight that anonymous 12 year old.
They better not start sending anon hate or threats or nasty comments, because everybody will know it's them and their reputation is already six feet under as is. Making it sink even lower would be embarrassing even for their standards.
And I have already mentioned this to a couple of friends, but... it's hysterical that these people are literally know for sending death and rape threats - across multiple fandoms too!!! -, pushing people out of fandom, harassing, bullying, and vagueblogging, and yet they took time to create a secret Discord server to recruit people into and "make the fandom great again" or some shit, as if they weren't the ones who ruined it in the first place - also by spreading actual misinformation and accusing actual MENA people of not telling the truth, with Lazaefair who worked real hard to spread the rumor that one of the MENA bloggers who were writing informative posts was actually an evil sockpuppet, and rejoicing when they wrote their last post before leaving fandom after receiving weeks worth of death threats, because we can't forget that! How dare anybody cross the ignorant American woman and her equally ignorant French bestie and their shit takes???
I was never in A&M, literally the only TOG servers I've ever been in are Top!Joe and the Zine one, but... if things are how people told me... whew, guys. And they are supposed to be the good guys? The righteous ones who put us on the right road and teach us how to be better people?
Them having a secret server also explains how it was possible that all the "big names" in the fandom who supported discourse, from Miss Finland to Miss Racefaker and their little cronies too, went real quiet just before the beginning of Pornathon and the day the event began they suddenly began yapping and whining about racism again, reblogging from each other, spitting out the same two takes - I loved, loved, when I pinned Len down when she was trying to shit on people for being """antisemitic""" and reminded her that Lazaefair is actually antisemitic, and Len pretended that she didn't know her lmao. If I were Lazaefair, just for that I would've thrown her under the bus as soon as the exposé was posted. Now that I think about it... was I the catalyst that caused her to write that racist as hell post? The one with the MENA boys who conveniently look like Majid because that's totes how all MENA boys look like in Europe?
Here's the thing: you don't suddenly go online and become antisemitic or racist or xenophobic because you read rambling posts that barely make any grammatical and syntactic sense. You don't suddenly begin sending death and rape treats, insults, threatening people to post about them on KiwiFarms - someone is trying to be edgy here lmao - if you are a decent person. And you don't go out of your way to defend people who are. They were always shitty, they were always antisemitic and racist and awful people. Len and Lazaefair just gave them the authorization to let it all out.
And I agree with you: they absolutely should apologize for the shit they have done and said in the past months, but would that be enough? Would that repair the hurt they caused? Like... apologies are nice, but will they delete Len and Lazaefair's posts from their blogs? Write down that they are awful people who say awful things? Because at this moment I've seen a looooot of excuses but not a single apology - and I very much doubt that any is gonna come from any of them. Their little antisemitic, racist, xenophobic hearts cannot bear to have been proven wrong and that their savior is a flavorless, privileged French lady who is paler than the people they have harassed in her name - me included, which is so, so funny.

In a mood and I’m trying not to be, but oof. Not easy at the moment. Real life stresses are kicking my butt and I’m decidedly limited in resources for addressing that at the moment, so might as well get this off my chest, lol. Already lost the usual fifty followers or so I lose every single time I post about stuff the way I did the other day, so what’s some more, y’know?
So earlier today I tried to get my mind off things with some fic, and happened across one I hadn’t read before that promised Jason and Dick talking things out and bonding. Halfway through I sighed and went oh, this is familiar, and skipped to the bottom to check the end notes and comments to see if there was any mention of this next part, but nope. The reason for the sigh was it took me about halfway into the fic to realize that it was blatantly inspired by my post about what if Jason was missing some memories from his death/resurrection and the Pit, like specifically the ski trip they took, stuff like that. Now I’m not so egotistical as to think nobody but me has certain ideas, but its fairly easy for me to recognize when someone is basing something off a post of mine because of specific turns of phrases that I use and like, they hit ten or so bullet points from my post without missing a one. Like, there’s parallel evolution and similar ideas, and then there’s going down a check list, y’know?
And don’t get me wrong....I don’t mind people basing stuff of my posts, being inspired by them, etc. I WANT that. I’m GLAD to have that happen.
The part I mind is the way this all ties back into my interaction with fandom as a whole....and this fandom’s interaction with me. Which I don’t tend to hear NEARLY as much about as I tend to have people giving me shit about my impact on fandom....but ONLY the negative impact.
In the four years or so that I’ve been active in this fandom, I can think of only three people who have given me some kinda shout out for being the basis of one of their fics. Three people. And in that time I’ve come across literal dozens of fics that I am almost certain can trace their way back to popular posts of mine. There’s the post about Jason’s memories and the ski trip for one - this fic isn’t an isolated occurrence, I’ve found a good half a dozen or so I feel fall into the same pattern. There’s fics based off my posts about how fucked up the blame Dick got for Spyral was, with my certainty based on the fact that I know I’m the only fucking person who ever brought up various key phrases like “Bruce not having an extraction plan for Dick’s highly dangerous undercover op, leaving him stranded when Bruce got/(chose) amnesia.” I made a big deal about that in a few posts because of the fact I NEVER saw that particular element raised in any fics, and a couple months after I started including that bit regularly, I was seeing the words ‘without an extraction plan’ in every other new post Spyral fic. That’s not a coincidence.
There’s been stuff that included bits and phrasings from my post about Dick and Jason being partners who focused on helping kids who had been abused specifically....oh wait, no, my bad. The two fics I’m thinking of there lifted straight up entire lines from that post but just made it about Jason and TIM doing that instead, despite like.....the entire basis of that headcanon stemming from Dick’s juvie origin but whatever. There’s been stuff based on juvie posts of mine, stuff based on posts I’ve made about Mirage, there’s been stuff based on the post about Jason looking into why Dick was undercover as a mob enforcer and then Renegade, there’s been stuff clearly inspired by my headcanons about Jason calling Dick for advice after the Garzonas case. I could go on. There’s a fucking LOT.
I don’t try to give myself too much credit but I’m not unaware of being a loud voice in this fandom and that having an impact. And like I said, I’m not adverse to inspiring people to make their own stuff based off an idea they initially saw me present. That’s fine. People should feel free to do that. My problem is that none of this exists in a vacuum. It exists in a fandom where I regularly get people lecturing me on my presentation, people hyping up how negative I make fandom, my condescension, my anger, my hostility, etc, etc.
But the thing I never see is any awareness whatsoever that like....dudes, I’m literally just a guy on the internet. And that goes two ways. Yeah, I have an impact on people, but they have one on me too. And I’m tired and frustrated by it being acted like this is a one way street and everyone is just helpless victims of my bullying, while meanwhile SOME OF THE EXACT SAME PEOPLE GIVING ME CRAP FOR MY NEGATIVITY are ACTIVELY adding to their own fics with stuff that I JUST posted about.
And like, I see people vagueblogging about the negativity on their dashes and its impact on fandom right after I have a Dick Grayson rant blow up and get a few hundred notes......but its acted like I DID that to fandom, that’s my negativity and mine alone when its like....y’know, if you’re not following me yourself, and this stuff is still on your dash, you uh....have to be following people who reblog my negative posts for some reason or another. And given that there are obviously reasons you follow THOSE people, maybe instead of worrying about what I’M doing all the time, you can spare a thought or two for the fact that I don’t have any power to make people reblog anything, and for whatever reason, something about my oh so negative post resonated with those people reblogging it onto your dash, which also kinda suggests it wasn’t negative in THEIR eyes, but was actually a kind of validation of thoughts or feelings they already had?
Trust me, there’s no mind control ray at work here. This mood is also brought to you by the cricket sounds that come every time I fucking BEG people to reblog and signal boost posts I make about rape/abuse fandom trends and depictions from my POV as a survivor, specifically. Like I mentioned, I LOSE followers every time I bring that stuff up. It doesn’t benefit me in any way whatsoever, in fact my notes tend to go comparatively radio silent for a good couple weeks after I go off on one of those jaunts, because idk, people don’t want THEIR mutuals and followers to think they agree with some of my oh so controversial stances?
Actually, I say idk, but I do know is the thing, because people actually go on anon and tell me they appreciate me posting stuff like this, and its like.....that....doesn’t actually make me feel good? Because I never expect any single person in particular to reblog me, but when I say crickets after I post on those topics, I mean CRICKETS. I’m lucky if I can get five reblogs on those posts in total, and those are usually all from the same people. It actually kinda sucks knowing that people agree with me and what I have to say there, but they won’t put it on their own blogs because this fandom is so fucking STEEPED in its views, they don’t want to risk their friendships or back-and-forths with certain popular fandom authors by rocking the boat.
Because meanwhile I’m making myself target practice for the people who really would like me to shut up on certain topics but are too cowardly to ever confront me directly about why they dislike what I have to say there, in the vain hope that other people might finally even just START to pass some of that on even for consideration....because I can make waves by myself just by being loud and consistent, but I can’t do shit to actually make CHANGE without other people agreeing in PUBLIC so that fandom is forced to confront the fact that no, certain opinions aren’t just one loud asshole being annoying, there’s an actual viewpoint here that people actually have in greater numbers than we realized and we DON’T have as much of a monopoly on this topic as we thought.
I have anons who give me shit accusing me of driving off certain authors by making this fandom not fun for them anymore, when like, I never even fucking INTERACTED with the authors in question. Some of the names I’m accused of driving off I don’t even KNOW. I’m called an ‘abusive survivor shaming cunt’ with zero irony or self-awareness that they’re literally doing the exact same thing because they don’t like the stance *I* take as a survivor posting about how ‘some survivors use dark fic/rape fantasy to cope’ shouldn’t be treated as a monolithic defense of such things if it leads directly into the same kind of survivor shaming other people view criticism of such fic as being in the first place.
I’ve had to unfollow mutuals because I post about how reblogging posts about purity culture is a direct fucking slap into the face to people like me whose stances on fandom culture are directly based on our own personal experiences and the intersection those have with various popular fandom takes.....like you don’t have to agree with all my takes obviously, but if you can’t see how framing a naive pursuit of ideological purity as the only possible reason people object to certain fandom trends when I’m literally standing right here saying no actually, the way these fandom trends impact me is the reason for me saying the things I say when I say “here’s how this fandom trend impacts me”.....like.....c’mon.
And I’ve had mutuals unfollow me because despite following me because they liked my takes on social justice issues THEY care about, I just ‘post too much about what’s really just a personal issue’ and has no larger social relevance whatsoever, obviously. LOL. (Oh and this of course has nothing to do with them getting friendly with various popular authors on discord, who happen to be vocal about ‘disapproving’ of any fic criticism whatsoever. Just FYI, there’s a reason I haven’t followed anyone new or made any new mutuals in like....a year. I have my reasons for being....not quick about that).
I get condescended to constantly about not minding the tags, and then radio silence when I list literal examples of ways in which people haven’t tagged things correctly, tagged things at all, or literally used the tags in an attempt TO trigger people they just don’t like.
And meanwhile, allllllll of this keeps happening while the general narrative is I’m this loud asshole guy with zero concern about anything but his own personal likes or dislikes and who makes fandom a negative place that’s unwelcoming in general. And with basically zero mention of all the ways in which I’ve contributed to this fandom, the amount of content I’ve made that has DIRECTLY inspired people, and the productive conversations I’ve started which have resulted in people actually changing the way they approach various characters or dynamics in fics.
Its THAT part that bugs me, specifically.
Look, I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again now.....I’m not anyone’s victim. Negative fandom interactions are negative fandom interactions. All this complaining I’m doing here - lol, that’s all it is. I’m venting. I’m pissed off and I think its relevant to a greater fandom dynamic or tendencies a lot of people unknowingly or consciously reinforce, and so I’m just fucking SAYING it because while its not something I EXPECT this post will do much to change, if at all, I would still like it to change so any effort towards that end is still better than no effort at all...hence, my posting this rather than bottling it up so at least people have it to consider.
If you don’t agree with it, if you don’t like that it exists at all, if it ruins your day to have to consider whether or not you or people you know or even like are active participants in what someone else is describing as y’know....fairly day-ruining in its own way? Hit that unfollow, that block, that make new text post button of your own and have your own rant about what a douchebag I am.
Literally all I’m trying to express is like.....fa*ndom’s got a lot to say about the stuff I have to say about fandom, but like....this is a two way interaction. A lot of people make a big deal about MY impact (again, JUST the negative though, lol) but I don’t ever see anyone ever addressing anyone else about hey maybe you could spare a thought or two about YOUR impact for a change as well.
I mean, what if....just maybe...what if.....a lot of my behavior or attitude has a lot to do with how people approach or talk about me BEFORE that display of attitude or certain behavior? Weirdly....I feel like maybe something that could then have a transformative effect on the kind of behavior or attitude people dislike from me....is.....them acknowledging or addressing things they might have done to prompt certain responses from me?
I don’t actually like being whiny or negative or down in general, just to be clear? If I see something I have a problem with or think could use change or improvement, I say so - but I pretty much always put an effort into expressing both WHY and HOW I think possible change could look - because I’m not generally interested in being negative for the sake of just being negative. I just....want things to be better. That’s not an obsession with purity or perfection, btw, I will NEVER understand how people think that survivors of rape and abuse (which include a lot more ‘antis’ than anyone else seems to want to acknowledge) and the like EVER expects perfection or thinks that the world will ever produce that - lol no I’m actually pretty clear that things being perfect is pointless, I’m just interested in BETTER.
But I mean, I like being goofy and silly and also analytical and contemplative and also creative and spontaneous. I like lots of things. I like lots of moods. I like producing, creating, generating, interacting, engaging, I like a million things more than I like THIS kind of mood, THIS kind of post.
But I’m just not someone who is content to sit and stew in that sort of thing when I know full well that the problem does not actually stem from something broken or flawed inside of me, because I’m also someone who does believe very strongly in periodic bouts of self-reflection and honest self-assessment.....so that I can change things about myself when and where I feel necessary. But this also has the effect of me also being VERY aware of when the problem is not internal, but actually just me having a perfectly valid reaction or emotional response to outside stimulus. Aka fandom’s interaction with me, every bit as much as my interaction with fandom.
So....posts like this. I’ll do my usual rituals, get myself back onto my preferred trains of thought soon enough on my own, because ultimately that is all I can control and just because I make posts like this doesn’t mean I ever EXPECT any specific result - or a result at all - to come from it.
But, y’know, sue me for being hopeful.
I know. What an ass am I?

A Longer Take on Censorship and Policing in the RPC.
I have two family members who have been consumed by QAnon, a discredited and absurd far-right conspiracy group that preys on people who want to be heard, who want to feel superior over others in an intellectual and racial way, and who want to feel like they're in a special privileged group, in which only "that group" knows certain secrets; "the truth", and which only that group "can fix the world". It is an entirely delusional cult, built upon misinformation, small statements that have been blown out of proportion or misinterpreted entirely, and mob mentality, and it was responsible for the horrific insurrection in the US among countless other events. This group consists of people who insist their delusional way is correct, just, and logical, when it is not. If you try to dissuade a QAnon person with valid, rational information, they shut you down and say it's either not real information, fabricated, or that you are referencing scientists and other accredited people who, to a Qanon, is part of the whole conspiracy and not to be trusted. You can't rationalize with them, because they are so absorbed in their new beliefs and they don't want to lose the sense of community, even if it's based on rage and hate, with other QAnons. Any attempt to make them see the light only makes them dig their heels in more, and is used as "evidence" that the world is trying to "silence them" and "cover up" all of the conspiracy events they believe are happening, or going to happen. It has been heartbreaking to watch the two dearest people in my family succumb to this, and I no longer speak with them.
More heartbreaking is how I'm retrospecting on many people's behavior on tumblr, and how shockingly similar these people seem to QAnon and the mentalities shown in this cult. I'm talking about blog police, people in favor of censorship, and people who refuse to acknowledge fictional characters are not a direct reflection of a writer's own personality. Like in Qanon, you have the following: the belief that only their opinion is right, and everyone else who disagrees is either in on some kind of sick fetish, or they're a closeted axe murderer (or worse) who gets their jollies on writing endless CSA fixes. These people also have the need to "fix the world", to "cleanse the world", but in this case, it's the RPC that needs to be fixed and cleansed of bad subject matter. They do this by running people off blogs, and vagueblogging until the cows come home, which allows this rhetoric to spread rapidly (it has already consumed much of the RPC).
There are two main ways it seems to be spreading. First, when roleplayers are exposed to vagueblogs about "sick people writing (subject)!" on a regular basis, they start to believe it too even if they spend a long time fighting the belief, simply due to familiarity bias, which is a genuine cognitive phenomenon. As for the people who are actually writing this dark content, they are made to feel broken, defective, or worse. Also similar to QAnon, you have the "digging in heels" part where, just like how a QAnon takes any rational argument against their delusions and turns it into a belief that the person is trying to silence them, automatically discrediting anything they say, people in the rpc will take anyone writing certain content, or defending the freedom to write certain content, and call them pedophiles or other horrendous terms related to that specific situation, which again, immediately discredits anything they have to say. Because in their eyes, just like how a QAnon will see a normal person as inhuman and not worth listening to (which just gives them more confidence and firepower to attack them), these people see rpers who write dark content as inhuman. This is why, I feel, so many of these rpers receive asks telling them to "kill themselves", "get a life", and "get help", regardless of whether or not they respect the material and subject matter they write. For a QAnon, everyone who isn't a QAnon is part of the problem, part of a conspiracy, subhuman, with no exceptions. It is black and white thinking. It is easier for them to think this way. It also helps them feel closer knit to other Qanons, who also "know the truth". Tumblr users in favor of censorship share those qualities, the black and white thinking, and when questioned, falling back on toxic echo chambers that only reaffirm their beliefs that tumblr needs some kind of cleansing, regardless of whether or not that's the particular word that is being used.
This is only the tip of the iceberg. If you understand how cults like QAnon work at their most fundamental levels, however, as I've tried to elucidate here, you will see so many similarities with endless internet mobs, including the growing rhetoric on tumblr here. And it is beyond horrifying. My parting message is, please don't allow yourself to be taken for a ride by these groups, and especially people on tumblr. They are delusional, and to be taken out of their delusion would mean giving up a sense of belonging and purpose, which nobody wants to give up, so they will not change their ways unless THEY make the conscious effort to. This is not likely to happen. It is a losing battle to argue with them, as I'm coming to terms with only now, and it will only hurt you and stress you out. My advice is to cut all ties, not entertain them, use the block button liberally, surround yourself with kind people who continue to use rationality and good sense, and hopefully the fire will die out, at least in your corner.
Thanks for reading.

3, 13, 23, 33, for the munday asks : D
munday asks!!!
3. I started roleplaying on Tumblr. The truth is, once I began watching Hetalia in summer 2015, I had this sudden urge to write fanfiction about it. Fortunately, those will be very difficult for anyone to find without using the Wayback machine. I will cringe if you do. Anyways, some random stranger on the website suggested roleplaying to me, which I declined, because I felt uncomfortable with the idea; it stuck in my head regardless, and once seeing that Tumblr seemed to be a decent platform for roleplaying, threw my hat into the ring.
But I don't like to think back on that time, for good reason.
13. I generally have no problem with OCs. I have seen some of the best OCs, with the most love, thought, and effort put into their characterization, design, and development on this site. I personally never felt confident enough to make my own. I did try with a Mexico in 2017 and an El Salvador with 2018, but those two are long gone by now. I created four, then one more, in 2020, but did little to nothing with them. But it is rather fortunate that you chose to ask this particular question since, as I have alluded to in previous updates on this blog, I am planning to bring that blog back, and continue to improve it (the character pages, of course, especially with regards to backstory and personality [of course]). There will be two new OCs that, I can't lie, I came up with today. In short, if an OC has effort put into them, I have no reason to dislike them.
23. Naturally this depends primarily on whether a writing partner and I agree to the idea. However, in general I don't write ships very much anymore, and most writers like to see chemistry between muses before a romantic relationship forms, so I doubt that I will be tackling that issue any time soon. Personally, I don't have too much issue with it; this is just for fun, after all. I was told years ago that I needed to be more creative, perhaps even outlandish, and the idea of OC x canon ships may or may not be viewed as such. Personally, despite the fact that I plan to bring back my OC blog, I would be hesitant about offering to write an interaction with one of them and a partner’s canon muse [for fear of being turned down, of course], any question of shipping notwithstanding.
33. I outlined this in a previous answer about a week ago. I usually enjoy seeing other writers do dash commentary, but I personally do not write it, for a number of reasons. Firstly, I do not have very much activity on my blogs in the first place, so I doubt that very many people would see it; for that reason it seems unnecessary to me. More to the point, however, to me it is a form of vagueblogging, which I greatly dislike and do my best to avoid. Even now, when I feel the need to emphasize my opinion on it, I worry that someone may take offense to that statement—and in a vicious cycle I feel I should even omit my last few sentences from this answer entirely. Where is the fun in dash commentary if nobody knows what I am referring to? Why risk offending someone by making mention of something they have posted on their blog, or worse, implying that I am referring to it? That is why I do not write dash commentary.

chamblerstara replied to your post “let’s be perfectly clear: it isn’t biphobic to not ship miluca. people...”
While I agree with this, I think all the vague posting of accusations of biphobia is... Maybe not the best way to deal with it. A lot of fans dislike this one particular ship for valid reasons and are seeing this as constant attacks that are hurtful and dismissive of our feelings, experiences, and, in some cases, trauma. I guess I just wish people would address it with the particular people they have problems with, rather than making blanket statements and hurting others
My post was not about any one individual, and it wasn’t about making accusations. I only wanted to identify a trend I have seen not just lately but over the course of the entire hiatus and express a frustration I have with how the arguments over this trend are unfolding. It isn’t about not shipping miluca. I don’t ship miluca. In fact, I dislike it to the degree that I would really rather not be talking about it at all. But I do have a problem with the arguments (like the ones I identified in the original post) some people are using to argue against miluca. They feel hurtful and dismissive of my feelings, experiences, and trauma.
While I sympathize with the need to express frustrations on one’s personal blog without digging deeply into drama, I agree that vagueblogging can be a source of a lot of anxiety for a lot of people, myself included. But I promise that my post was not meant to be vagueing anyone. Nor was it meant as an accusation. Saying that “this argument is biphobic and it upsets me” is not the same as calling someone a biphobe and saying they’re a bad person. People who are expressing their hurt and frustration with biphobia in the fandom aren’t trying to villainize anyone or divide the fandom--it’s just about the way certain arguments are hurting people.

There’s no kind of Problematic Event Horizon that you have to transgress to get called out for Problematic Fandom Content - really, the only essential factor seems to be “upset someone who had enough confidence in their right to dictate fandom morality.”
A black survivor wrote an admittedly dark, intense, and potentially triggering (but no worse in any of these ways than a lot of stuff that gets written about Bucky Barnes or Matt Murdock) Sam Wilson whump-fic with exhaustive warnings in the tags and, at least in the chapters I read, no content that I would consider morally objectionable (no victim-blaming, abuse apologism, Defiled Forever, “marginalized person gets put through the wringer but their own pain and recovery quickly take a backseat to their white guy loved one’s revenge quest,” etc.) - and got a big splashy callout on a fandom social justice blog.  (And to make matters worse, I got the impression - possibly inaccurately - that the caller-out hadn’t even read the fic, and was simply basing their judgement on the tag set, which is a hell of a way to encourage responsible use of trigger warnings!)
Whereas I, a white girl just out for a laugh, wrote about black female AU Deadpool getting chewed up by a flying robot squid monster and then introducing Bucky Barnes to the joys of pegging and cannabis, and nobody’s objected a bit.
How is this fair?
I think part of this could be fandom norms.  Sam isn’t really a Designated Fandom Woobie so it could be perfectly possible to be a regular habitue of the Sam Wilson tag without becoming accustomed to heavy h/c fans and their unconventional ways of showing affection.  Whereas I don’t think anyone browsing the Deadpool tag is going to be offended by a protagonist, of whatever race or gender, being portrayed as a bit of a heroic comedic sociopath or suffering serious but temporary injuries.  Those things are kind of inherent in the concept!
But mostly, I think, it’s because I think a major impetus behind making that kind of personalized fuss - as opposed to just vagueblogging about fandom trends you disapprove of or being crabby on anonmemes - is the desire to punish creators for upsetting you, as much as it is to defend a particular kind of moral/artistic standard.  And darkfic, however unimpeachable its moral universe, is inherently going to be more upsetting than goofy slice-of-life comedy.  That’s part of the point.

why'd you stop talking to velv//etvi//olence
ooooh this is the kinda spicy invasive drunk ask i love lmao
the timeline is like....... god i need to really fucking remember, ok so
so i saw her in the pokeani tag and was like oh she seems chill, invited her to my rocket server, everything seemed mostly alright but she had this tendency to like, dominate conversation that i think i was sympathetic to because i also do that without trying. she cut me a lot of times (usually by interrupting me mid-sentence or just like. changing the topic when i was infodumping) which kinda sucked but i didn’t rly think much of it at the time
i think at one point i did get kinda upset w her a few times but i mostly kept it to myself, we talked it out once and she was pretty chill and i was like cool. that’s the only time i can ever really remember it like, even coming close to conflict.
but then she just kinda disappeared from my life. she left my server, stopped following me, stopped interacting with me. i have abandonment issues like woah but i tried to like. get over myself i guess? cause i rly liked being friends with her. but seeing her on my dash all the time (i was still following her cause... friend? idk) was starting to weigh on me. at some point she started interacting hardcore with another rocketblogger who was just really mean to me out of the blue
(tothestarsabove/fairy-feather, who basically hardblocked me and when i asked why said it was because i was an elitist dsfgsdf.... when i asked them what they meant they basically cited how i don’t like genwunners. which, like, whatever i guess, if hating genwunners & gatekeepers makes me an elitist then cool, ill get that word tattooed, fuck you & ur celebrating of negativity)
and so i unfollowed her because shit just got too painful. around that time she went on a vagueblogging spree where she basically implied that i “drove her out of the pokeani fandom” and i vagueblogged right back because like... wtf dude. in the time since i’d stopped talking to her, i found out she made a NUMBER of my friends wildly uncomfortable--a lot of them felt talked over and made smaller whenever she’d get online, and several of them cited instances to me where she’d literally just backhandedly insult them and pretend it was friendly or constructive criticism. we started combing through reviews she’d left on our fics, and found that a lot of these reviews were just, like... her talking about herself, and her opinions, and then leaving some subtle sneering comment and saying NOTHING good about the artwork. the only person she didn’t do this to was me, the most outspoken and confident of all of us. it was... weirdly predatory. one of my friends in particular confided to me that whenever she would get online, they would leave the chat, cause her mere presence made them feel like utter shit.
a little while after i made my vagueblog abt rachel she was creeping on my blog like she does and she saw some art i drew of me & a friend (one of the aforementioned friends who was in the chat w/ us) and she literally SENT THAT FRIEND A MESSAGE UNSOLITICED, OUT OF NOWHERE, that just said ‘are you and madi dating?’
this made me livid, for a number of reasons, like
1. she insists on using the name madi. people in bad graces with me LOVE doing this. they KNOW that name is reserved for my close friends, they KNOW i do NOT allow people to use it unless they have earned it. they always go out of their way to disrespect me by using it. ALWAYS. it is such a subtle way to insult me.
2. the picture i drew with this friend was completely platonic. it was me and my closest canonmate, dressed in our kintype’s outfits. in the description, i talked about how happy i was to know this friend, to have met them again. it was like, romantic in a poetic sense, but it was nothing i would not say to any other close friend, regardless of gender. the words were just, like, sweet and purple? like most of my words are?
when u consider these facts, the statement ‘are you and madi dating?’ is incredibly fucking gross. what grounds does she have to fucking ask something like that 1. to someone she hasn;t SPOKEN to in months and 2. to someone minding their own business just trying to move on from the terrible fucking experience of knowing her? like, i’m gonna be fucking blunt: it was lesbophobic. it was MAJORLY lesbophobic. one of the most COMMON stereotypes about lesbians is that we prey on women. she saw a lesbian write a sweet message for a close female friend, and she could not POSSIBLY comprehend the idea of a lesbian NOT jumping said friends’ bones. her immediate assumption was that we HAD to be dating.
not to mention, she more or less circumvented the fact that i blocked her by sending this message to a former friend of hers who DIDN’T. and when said friend sent me a screenshot of this message, like “holy shit, can you believe she SAID this?” rightfully appalled, she tried to guilt trip this friend ( “how could you? why would you screencap that? i trusted you!” )
the more i’ve distanced myself from her the more i realize i agree with my friends. she was incredibly mean to me and she made me feel small and afraid to speak up. her defense for this is that i ‘constantly vagueblogged’ about her which is absolute bullshit. she even told me herself that she had anxiety and ‘automatically assumed every single subtweet’ was about her. to this day, she sticks to this story. that i vagueblogged about my friend, even though i’ve never ever since my YOUTH vented about a friend in a public place where they might see it, where it might hurt them. she didn’t even upset me enough when we were friends to warrant that, all the vagueblogging came long after she left my life.
anyways when i called her on this she had the audacity to say she wasn’t a raging lesbophobe. as if she has a right to speak over a lesbian on what is and isn’t dykephobia. she’s not a lesbian. she lost the argument before she opened her mouth.
anyways her fic fucking sucks and she writes the most ooc jessie i have ever SEEN and is probably fandomhopping as we speak but yeah girl is made of red flags and reeks of potential abuser and every time i think about her i really fucking feel like i dodged a bullet. stop reblogging her shit and supporting her. it was a mistake for me to be her friend and a mistake for me to keep her around for so long. i possess immeasurable guilt for exposing half of my closest, kindest friends to her knowing the damage she has done to some of them. i can never fuckin get that time back.

The start of a gallery regarding Belphegor and the guys, but including a great deal of meta and extra gifs behind the cut, including relevance explicitly to Dean and Castiel, as well as Belphegor’s mythological relevance.
Edit: Since this post is making the rounds I’ma drop in my Belphegor meta-fanvid too. The meta/extra gifs are below the vid.

Yeah I know I’m a day late, no I don’t know if anyone has beaten me to this, I know some people beat me to talking about belphegor beyond me vagueblog screaming about him showing up on twitter with livetweets. For those who haven’t seen:
Belphegor - a Moabite god absorbed into Hebrew lore and then Christianity as a major DEMON. The name Belphegor means “lord of opening” or “lord Baal of Mt. Phegor.” As a Moabite deity, he was known as Baal-Peor and ruled over fertility and sexual power. He was worshipped in the form of a phallus. -- that giant rock he talked about worshipping, there you go.
In the KABBALAH, Belphegor was an angel in the order of principalities prior to his fall. He is one of the Togarini, “the wranglers.” He is an archdemon who is part of the demonic counterparts to the angels who rule the 10 sephirot of the Tree of Life; he rules over the sixth sephirah. He sits on a pierced chair, for excrement is his sacrificial offering. In Christian demonology, Belphegor is the incarnation of one of the SEVEN DEADLY SINS, sloth, characterized by negligence and apathy. According to St. Thomas Aquinas, all sins that arise from ignorance are caused by sloth.
Belphegor also rules misogyny and licentious men. He emerged from HELL to investigate the marital state among humans. For a time, he lived as a man to experience sexual pleasures. Appalled, he fled back to hell, happy that intercourse between men and women did not exist there.-- here’s the big block that I find fascinating.
Gully, Rosemary. 2009. The Encyclopedia of Demons and Demonology. New York: Visionary Living, Inc., pp. 27-28.
(For more discussion of Belphegor’s history and mythology on this blog, click this link (x) but I’m mostly narrowing it down to what’s relevant for address here.)
With that out of the way, I refer you to the gallery above, which is only a fraction of what I’ve clipped from the episode.
(Edit: As new things have come to light with a rewatch, or as new thoughts come up, I’ve been reblogging this post with additions; however, at the end of the post, I’m going to make headline titles for update thresholds and include it in here as a sort of Belphegor introduction masterpost. Any time I get to glance at part of this episode again it just gets LOUDER.)
The camera work is uncanny. Castiel and Dean are repeatedly cast not only as a unit, or Sam blotted off, or divided, but of a point of focus. A few more examples:

Oh wow Belphegor really just staring at them.
Think I’m just choosing frames I like? Check back at the scene. Whenever Sam engages it’s literally from a different, peripheral shot as so:
Tumblr media
This filming style isn’t single shots, but the entire scene. Oh, I don’t mean the entire scene, I mean the entire episode. The only place this rule wavers is when literally everybody is packed in the Impala, including when they save the mother and child, and until people decompress it’s impossible to do such controlled shots.
But then there IS when they decompress as I put in the original gallery.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Belphegor sits witness to the pain and upset over Cas, unable to look at him. And, shortly after talking about the giant penis he used to worship and flirting with Dean, asks who the child was to them after Cas has stormed out, finding out about it being their son.
At this point both Castiel and Dean have had their standoffs with Belphegor, which I side by sided in the top gallery. But Dean’s integration with Belphegor goes an entirely extra level.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
We’ll handwave any deep readings about the heart of a man being needed -- but the simple fact is, as we know, this is when Dean and Belphegor encounter the white woman.
That alone is a fascinating point;
Whether you take Sam’s encounter as his serial killer fetish, or his clown phobia, or some people’s read of toxic parenting, or a combination of these -- the first two more likely to tickle the general audience -- this is clear.
Whether you take Cas’ encounter with Bloody Mary as the secret about Jack and guilt over Mary, or the secret over the Empty and general guilt over failing Jack, his connection is loudly clear.
The woman in white was a spouse betrayed by her partner and driven to madness where she killed her children and then herself -- something fairly clear if we remember the metaphorical ledge Dean was on at the end of the season that he steered away from, but the argument continues.
Blahblah *heterosexual handwave* just subtext just interpretation only the other two matter for Reasons(TM), we know how that will go. This, or the random divorce drop from the victim girls for totally inoccuous and random reasons aside, is just a worthwhile note to put in here as we consider the framing of Belphegor.
Throughout the episode, Sam has no identifiable major exchange with Belphegor. He happens to be in the vicinity, occasionally mediating Dean and Cas, or in the same car, but there is no forward led conversation, there is no personal tension or banter, and most of all there isn’t even any attempt at directorial focus. If anything, directorial blotting. Sam’s plot shines more in being a forward moving, smart hunter mediating the two here, but if we’re here to look at Belphegor--
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
As Castiel sadly watches the rescued mother and child go to the school, in the wake of the death of his son, Dean only tersely checks on him. It’s strained, and Castiel is left staggered, only for us yet again to find Belphegor framed into the conversation, observing, as he has through the previous shots.
Belphegor’s placement is right between Dean and Cas, leaving it almost inevitable that as we move forward, he will annex emotional territory if by trust or nuisance to dig a deeper wound and antagonize the marriage he observes dissolving in front of him, a very personal and living manifestation of their struggles for these two to overcome, and inevitably part of what will send Castiel away briefly in 15.3 as he feels himself growing more and more detached from the Winchesters -- particularly Dean, as Sam is actively still engaging with him as is typical of them but like Entertainment Weekly recently put it, Castiel does has his favorite Winchester, and they’re totally-not-going-through-divorce-waves here, just totally heterosexual brovorce, of course.
Given considering my position of the overt and present canonicity of their relationship please note I’m only writing sarcastically towards the inevitable stupidity that haunts this fandom via anti dialogue and those that internalize it, but here it is, folks.
If anyone wants to even try to challenge me, I invite them to find Sam drawing belphegor’s focus on any front or being framed in the shots as Castiel and Dean are here. Belphegor is ... going to be a ride, folks. Buckle up. He’s literally been observing the hunter husbands, wracked with pain over the loss of their child, in active conflict despite their lingering stance as a unit, having held his ground with both of them to feel out their pain and rage each to themselves, and left to sit, and watch, and find what dark humor he may watch from them.
“Wanna talk about it?”
(Suggested reading: check out @tinkdw‘s post about them dividing Cas from his humanity *ba dum chink* and focusing on his angelicness this episode)

UPDATE 1
A belated addendum a few hours late I forgot to include but intended to: It has not escaped me that Dean and Cas also were both part of Belphegor’s spell casting. The aforementioned heart of a man with the trivial second ingredient of salt (truly not trivial at all in the alchemical scale of it, but that’s a topic for another time--just in SPNverse it seems weirdly easy; breaking down the alchemy in the last few seasons and the use of the salt in spell is its own essay), and the other common graveyard dirt and very conveniently angel blood. These things both created intensely powerful deus ex machinas that fall back to other points I made in the OP that are incredibly suspicious about the arrangement, and I’m more curious on if we should expect multiple parts of a spell eg reverse trials if you will or what.
I don’t consider these things a lack in SPN spellcasting integrity in writing. I consider these warnings.
UPDATE 2
Along with updates in the original post, someone posted this clip on twitter giggling about Dean’s expression, and something else I somehow missed the first time caught my eye.
youtube
Every time Belphegor opts to observe people or turn, while he comments on beauty and appearance (or stone penises or Dean being gorgeous), beyond his individual compliment of Dean – he is turning his head at couples. Or, well, we assume couples. At Units Of Two People. The two people units are:
A woman and a woman A man and a woman A man and a man.
Outside of the vehicle Belphegor is not taking any particular time paying attention to individuals. Only duos. The two women pass in front of the hearts, and one (the woman in khaki) even gestures at it to sort of make the woman in green look.
Tumblr media
The man and the women walk by, vaguely locking arms.
Tumblr media
Belphegor looks straight between these units. He leans forward, discussing people on earth being attractive. He turns and looks out the window to observe the two men now walking past the window with hearts.
Tumblr media
Drops the comment about worshipping a giant penis, and so forth.
But the direct observation of duos, potentially queer ones literally framed in hearts in case anybody misses it for not being hetnorm, is… well, in lieu of the OP, this is. Yeah. It’s a whole thing. Holy crap.
UPDATE 3
This one isn’t necessarily big enough for a central update, and isn’t even entirely Belphegor focused as Belphegor adjacent. A friend ( @tarend ) had asked passively why bikes were so prominently featured in this episode, so here’s what I’ve found.
Tumblr media
The green and blue bikes feature predominantly in the clown victim house from the first scene we see the garage, fairly early in the episode and every other showing until they’re extracted from the house. Often central, doorway, access, or backshadow in most shots. Trying to pin it on a single character would be ignoring the broadness of it, but the presence was enough to take note of.
Tumblr media
Various two people units roll around with bikes of different and more muted colors.
Tumblr media
The two dudes, one of them has a green bike and one has a grocery sack which I imagine ISN’T fruit from the tree of life.
I do find it weird and, especially since the green and blue bike collectively manage to get several shared minutes of screen time in a busy episode, I have to wonder, but I can’t find anything meaningful here without jumping to the common “green and blue” thing and a random joke-reach towards Queen which isn’t really my flavor of meta despite it even kind of matching the people passing by. The overlap is there and tangible, regardless, and passes in the background of Belphegor, so I’ll leave that here as a general sentiment.
Compared to the above gold mine of far more overt material, if this ever was intended to be an intentional nod of some sort, I feel like it’s been overshadowed entirely by the other content which might as well have been blasted from a bull horn, but maybe someone else can find use in it in association. Aside from the street highlights in the car while Dean sits by with Belphegor, the prominent double bike placement is best witnessed rather than screenshot into eternity in any scene involving Clown House Garage.
Though I may point out the dynamic impala shot with the paired bikes in the background is immediately followed by a stroller that colllectively haunt the three people in the car, but whether I’d swear to that being intentionally syncretic, I’m unsure. But I do feel it’s worth notating.
Tumblr media
I’m sure you all know I’m guarded about things like this fandom’s build on key colors and don’t apply it in meta outside of standard lighting theory, and generally even props are things I ignore unless they’re actual framing and blocking focuses, but the bikes do ride a line. They just lack the overall thematic story use most things I talk about do, like mystic symbols and the ilk. I would probably completely disregard this were it not for the other elements above, but now I’ll be keeping an eye on it.
UPDATE 4
Yet another thought more from @tarend than me, but his ass just about never posts so I might as well plug it into the viral post with some credit.
There seems to be painstaking effort to frame Belphegor with stop signs.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Cough
Crack aside it’s just some angle play that could be coincidence but I’m going to be throwing that out there for meta fodder for others while this spreads around until I can truly rewatch since life is seriously climbing me right now.
Tarend also points out the school was named after The Great Dissenter (Link).
I’m going to have a bit of a comparative study on Belphegor’s and Chuck’s mannerisms for consideration but life didn’t even give me 30 minutes for a video edit today much less a rewatch.
