Thinking about the implication that Bianca di Angelo, born and raised in fascist Italy, probably knew about Nico being gay, and still loved him all the same.

Listen I know this character is doomed by the narrative. I know their death is the most satisfying (even if painful) ending for their character. I know they were meant to die since the start. I know than the things than led to their death are incredibly relevant to the story and can’t be stopped, and I know than the things than happened after they died, because they died, are the whole point of the story. I know their death was a turning point for the whole story. I know the story would not be nearly as good without this character’s death. I know the impact their death had on other characters, or what it meant on their own character journey, is what changes the story. I know the symbolism their death had, and I know than it wouldn’t have been able to be portrayed on a different way than someone dying. I know there were clues to this character dying since the start, and I know there was no other ending for them.

However what if they lived a happy long life, huh?

some people think nico is cheering and happy, and that’s basically what has been confirmed/ said by the creators of the show, but when i first heard it i thought he had lost her and i am still kind of convinced that he was searching for her, that he loses her over and over again. that this little ten year old boy has spent nearly his entire time in the lotus casino, an entire 70 years screaming bianca’s name. once they get out, he loses her all over again, and it is permanent this time.

Hades taught his children self-defense bc he knows that the monsters, or worse: his brothers, would come to get them sooner or later.

He is a paranoid parent, and oversensitized courtesy of years of overlooking the torturing procedures in the Fields of Punishment. He did not take in account that the 'self-defense' he taught would somehow be viewed as, well, illegal from a non-divine's perspective. He said "well the brain and the heart are their weaknesses. just go for it!" and there they went. Hades was technically right.

I believe than Nico first started dressing in darker clothes after Bianca died, aside than that’s how it went in canon, there’s also something something mourning rituals in 1920s Italy something something Nico just discovering he’s a son of hades and wanting to learn more about what it means and death and it’s rituals something something, but also, because he genuinely likes it. He started as a way to mourn, and I believe than after Nico fully heals, he won’t start dressing in like, lighter clothes, because he genuinely enjoys it, he just started doing it because of grief.
