My Husky was with me over a decade after I picked her 4mo self from a litter of rambunctious siblings. If I left her, it was for school plus the family and neighbors were sure you keep an eye on her.
When I'd come back around it was all about hugs, talks, and runs around the lake and overnight the beach where she could show she's okay to other dogs she once knew. My mom, uncles, and siblings always treated her like part of the family. In return, she'd stand on guard to protect everyone from danger.
When I was at a low point in my life, she was with me while I'd be discussing job possibilities with companies on the East Coast. My baby sis was pretty darn sure I would've helped with her tuition, yet remembered I need to be close to family because of my ailments! That's before I got cancer again.
As I've said, my husky didn't mind being at my side most of the day. Believe standing watch outside the door when I'd take a shower delighted her. Ohh I'd also give her a treat and congrats on being a good girl when I'd get out.
We'd take 4mi walks 2x a day and I'd groom her on spots of empty parking lots wherever we had fab chats. An ice cream shop wondered why I didn't give her whipped cream as a treat. Ugh, it gives her painful nasty gas. It's not the stuff you'd want around her during a walk.
Hope that didn't sound me centric. I'd be extending the walks so she can let more of the gas out. That's not fair to her or 👩🦽 me. Hope she knows I always had her good health in mind.
