so like i just joined like 4 days ago and my good pals @cocothemunchkin and @lilsak3 have educated me that i have a rare old layout that everyone else wants while y'all have the twidder layout

am i alone on this hill or do i have fellow tumblr users who have the old layout still

cause i ain't using no extension, it was like this when i joined

out of curiosity, what do people dislike about the new tumblr layout?

is it just the similarity to twitter that people object to? or is there another reason? (i've never used twitter, so the similarity to it doesn't bother me.)

i use tumblr primarily in my browser on my computer and on firefox android app, and the new layout on the computer browser is quite similar to the way tumblr has looked on firefox phone app for a while now (especially if you decrease the width of the browser on the computer to cover only half the screen, so that the left panel gets minimized into a hamburger menu)

personally, i don't like that it broke my dashboard bells add-on, but that's a very particular problem to me, and has little to do with the specifics of the layout; probably any layout change would have broken them

HOW THE FUCK DO I GET RID OF THE NEW TUMBLR LAYOUT

the post button’s in literally the opposite corner it’s so jarring

i don't even understand why tumblr would WANT to change the layout to copy twitter. even if it is the mentality that since twitter burned down they can replace it, but the people who have been using tumblr have always been able to use twitter. if we wanted to use twitter, we would have been!

but we don't!

we want to use tumblr!

It takes a special kind of nerve to shit on something in all of your marketing

i've made a strange discovery about tumblr

the current one directs to /messages instead (first image)

emails still direct to the /submissions page for the inbox (seen in the second image) what i find fascinating is the /submissions page has the familar old layout but every button on the page redirects to the new layout

HELP i reloaded tumblr and now its got the new layout can someone find that post with the extension to make it go back to normal pls this is horrendous

I cannot get over this layout change it feels wrong and overwhelming and claustrophobic and mainstream like. How is a website like this?? supposed to have lizard elections?? WHERE?? are they gonna keep the singing frogs? A website looking like this cannot have a merch store?? I cannot have a pet horse on this site?? Where is Do You Know the Color of the Sky?? Is she okay?? I can't talk in the tags on a site like this?? I do not like it here at all.
