Wasp Rider !
Wasp are predators that play an important ecological role in the regulation of insect populations.
There are thousands of species all over the world with various behaviours : some live in colonies, others build lonely nests or pollinate plants ! Figs depend on them to grow, and some species also play a role in the development of yeasts and the confection of wines and beers ✨
If you want to keep them away, you can repel them with natural products, like burnt cofee or tomato plants. Incents can also be a good solution because they work on mosquitoes too !
If a wasp gets close to you, stay calm 😉 they sent hormones and react to strong emotions. They can happen to bite but it’s completely harmless. Single stings are benine as long as you have no allergy, and hurt less than bee stings. Of course, keep a safe distance from nests !

Insectober #6 - Unexpected Predator
Fear not, a Dragonfly will never do any harm to you ! But they WILL eat mosquitoe Larvae and many more.
Both the adult Imago and Juvenile form are fearful predators, and therefor play in important role in ecosystems.
Odonates (that's how they're called) are a very ancient order of insects on earth, and probably some of the first to develop the hability to fly. They live and breed next to water, and lay down in it. The juveniles are called Naïades, and leave underwater where they feed on plancton, insects and sometimes even small fish!
