Film after film: The Exorcist III

I never cared about the highly-esteemed original due to all the religion bullshit, but this film is amazing: slow, full of mannered performances, particularly from Scott, who's beautifully and impressively histrionic, and, above all, one massive jump scare that is achieved through smart pacing, a sharp zooming in, and an abrupt cut. Nancy Fish is a background standout as a suspicious nurse.

It's all so horrible!!!!!!!! Ace dropping the jar into the water and blaming himself for Alice's death. Nancy can also take the blame for being the one to push him to go on this fishing trip and for being the one to hand him the jar. Even amid everything with the curse, Nancy is who Ace calls.
