Every six months you and Namor meet on the beach nearby your house. It was already your tradition. No matter how much he wants you to come and live with him in his kingdom and be his only, it wasn't possible.
Yesterday he didn't show up for unknown reasons, as you two had agreed half a year earlier. You did the same as the day before, you sat down on the soft sand in the light of the full moon and patiently waited for your beloved one to come to the surface. Seconds, minutes and hours passed. It was midnight and there was no sign of him. He was never so late. Something must have happened. What if he was hurt in some way? What if you won't see him again? With those dark thoughts a single tear ran down your cheek, but you wiped it immediatly. He could give at least some sign that he is okay, that he is safe and that he still loves you. Why didn't he do that?
It was getting colder on the beach. The waves in the Atlantic Ocean were getting bigger and the wind stronger, sweeping your hair back. Your body started shaking but you were stubborn. This time, you won't let go and keep waiting, even until the dawn. You got up from the ground and started walking towards the cabin where you lived to take a blanket with you back to the beach to cover yourself and warm up. However, as you turned your back to the ocean, you heard a familiar and calm voice.
"In yakunaj, wait..." you immediately turned towards him and looked into his cholocate eyes. At a distance, you could sense that he felt guilty.
Without overthinking, you started walking faster towards him. Thanks to his wings he reached the sand and opened his arms where you found yourself a moment later. He could only hug you even tighter so that you wouldn't be able to run away from him.
"I thought something happened to you. I was losing my mind." you got out of his grip and cupped his wet cheeks in your hands. Your gaze traveled all over his face, but you couldn't find a single scratch. Namor just remained silent and watched you. "You should have let me know you weren't coming, give me a sign, anything." you started shivering more from the cold, he noticed it and started rubbing your arms to keep you warm. "I was worried."
Namor was acting differently than usual, as if something was bothering him. He looked at you with great sadness and regret, but also love and care. You've known each other long enough that you could tell when something was wrong.
"(Y/N) you need to warm up, you're trembling." you nodded slightly, he put his arm around you, and you went home together.
Tumblr media
You sat on the wooden floor by the fireplace covered with a blanket and stared at the bright flames. A few moments later, you were awakened from your trance by the sound of creaking panels. Namor joined you, holding cups of something to drink in both hands. He brought you hot tea and for himself only water. He sat down next to you that your bare knees were touching. For the next hour he explained exactly why he hadn't visited you yesterday. The whole world can learn about the existence of the Talokan. You knew how much his kingdom and his people meant to him. Everything. So you weren't surprised what next steps your beloved one would have to make to keep it all a secret from the greedy world.
"Tomorrow morning I will sail to Wakanda with my entire army and put an end to this war." you stared at the already empty cup while listening carefully to what Namor had to say. "I can't let anything happen to Talokan..." he took the cup from you, put it on the ground next to him and wraped your palms together "...and I can't let anything happen to you." you looked at him and a small smile appeared on your face.
"I'm not a threat to them, they don't even know I exist, do they?" he nodded slightly, "So what are you afraid of, in amado?" he smiled gently at the nickname. Only you could call him like that. He brought your hand to his lips and kissed it tenderly.
"I'm afraid that through this stupid war I might lose you, that they can take you away from me, just as I took their queen from them." you sighed heavily amd closed your eyes, leaned a little forward that your foreheads touched.
"And what about you, hmm? Will you come back to me safe and sound? Nobody knows about us... I won't know if you survived or not." you said. You didn't get any answer for the next few moments. All Namor did was leaned back and placed a kiss on your forehead and then on your temple. He put his arm around you and came closer to you than before.
"I give you my word, when I am done with this, I will come to you as soon as I can." Namor gave a few more kisses against your temple. "But if... if anything happens to me, you'll find out just as quickly. You have my word in reina." you looked deep in his eyes. His promise was everything to you at this point.
You finally decided to get closer to him. The tips of your noses touched gently, and your lips was only inches apart. Finally Namor brushed yours hungrily but tenderly. You felt like you hadn't seen each other in ages. You wrapped your arms around his neck and his various necklaces. He, on the other hand, began to run his hands over your hips, waist and higher. As the kiss grew more passionate, you pulled away from him to catch your breath.
"Will you stay with me?" you whispered in his ear and brushed it lightly with your lips. The very gesture made Namor shudder. It was his sensitive point. Taking the opportunity that your neck was more exposed, he didn't waste a single moment and started peppering her with kisses, leaving tiny hickeys on it.
"Only if you want it." your foreheads and eyes meet again. You both were breathing hard. "Do you want me to stay?" you nodded immediately. "I need words in lool." before you spoke, you touched his left ear with your fingertips, then slowly took off his earring and set it on the floor. You did the same on the right side and put your hands on his chest keeping eye contact.
"Stay. Stay with me." Namor smirked broadly and kissed you lovingly, but you quickly broke this gesture because you wanted to get rid of the rest of the jewelry that he didn't need at the moment. With slow movements you removed the necklace after the necklace from his neck. He just watched your every single move carefully. Next were the arms, one jewelry on each of his biceps and on both forearms. You had to move away from him a bit to be able to take off the next ones on his calves "accidentally" touching the wings at his feet. They were also his sweet spot. Namor groaned softly at the contact. He needed you. Right now.
He rose a little and grasped your thighs tightly to be able to lift you up from the floor. Once he was standing on his feet, you wrapped your legs around him on the way to the bedroom. Namor kissing you passionately placed you carefully on the edge of the bed. This time it was he who took the initiative. He began to remove parts of your clothes from you, revealing more and more of your skin. You only stayed in your panties. Without taking his eyes off you, he got up from the bed to take off the last parts of his clothes. He threw his belt and shorts on the floor, freeing his cock and climbed on you again. He kissed your neck and sucked it alternately covering it with hickeys. For a few seconds you felt his cock brush against your thigh. With every second he was getting lower and lower. After a few moments, his lips were on your breasts, he worshiped every inch of your body. He started caressing your nipples, making circles around them with his tongue and sucking them as well. You were already a moaning mess, but you still wanted more. You wanted more of him.
You ran one hand through his black hair, and the other you placed on his shoulder and dug your nails lightly into him. He moaned against your breasts and began to go down. He placed wet kisses on your belly, until he finally reached your thighs. He adores them, so he also left a few hickeys and love bites on them. He looked up at you.
He reached for the fabric of your panties with his fingertips, they were already wet. Namor was waiting for your permission.
"Please..." you moaned softly. With one smooth movement, he pulled the last part of your clothing off you and your whole beautiful body appeared in front of him. Namor was enjoying this view as well as the first time he saw you in all your glory.
"May I?" he asked politely being inches from your folds, putting one leg over his shoulder for better access to your entrance. You felt his warm breath against your skin.
"Yes, in amado. Make love to me, please." at these words Namor immediately began to lick the wetness from your folds, teasing your clit with his nose. You rolled your eyes back at the sensation and lay down completely on the freshly laundered sheets as he dived deeper into your pussy while he was on his knees.
You missed this and couldn't wait to suck his dick until he goes wild. You groaned loudly as his tongue was slightly higher on your wet and aching clit. You were so close, but you wanted this moment last forever, so you tense your muscles and dug your nails into his hair. Namor brought his free hand to his mouth and dipped two fingers in his saliva, then sliding them inside of your pussy. When he felt that you're close, he began to curl them in your sweet spot, to which you replied with more uncontrollable moans of pleasure.
"Cum for me in yakunaj, let me feel you" at his filthy words you came so hard that you arched your spine and your body was shaking with the pleasure your beloved just gave you. When he cleaned your folds, he climbed on top of you and placed a long kiss on your lips. You could feel your own taste. Namor pulled away from you and then you touched his cock and started pumping it slowly.
"Let me worship you, my king." taking the opportunity that he didn't pay enough attencion, you turned the both of you that he was now on his back and you were on top. You did exactly what he did to you. "K'uk'ulkan..." you sighed marking every inch of his body, you slide lower and lower until your mouth was on the tip of his cock. You took it in your hand pumping, licked off his leaking precum and sucked gently on the tip. He propped himself up with his hands so he could see what you were doing to him. He groaned softly and closed his eyes with the excess of pleasure. Namor put his hand on your head and started fucking your mouth. At first he kept the pace that you set, but with each passing second he was closer and his thrusts became faster. When he felt that he was about to spill his cum inside your mouth, he stopped his movements as well as you.
"Up, in reina. Up." you did as he told you to. You stood up and pressed your lips together in a passionate kiss. Namor moved you with his arms to make you sit on him. You've been waiting for this moment for a long time. His wings began to flutter, brushing against your bare skin. You touched one with your fingers and Namor let out an innocent groan. You weren't admitting the thought that you might lose him. He directed his cock towards your entrance and in one move he was inside you. You both moaned loudly. You wrapped your arms around him, and he took your nipples in his mouth again and savor them while thrusting his cock against your g spot.
When Namor was making love to you, it felt like it was your first and at the same last time. He was rediscovering your body, every inch of your soft skin, your reactions to his actions, and your beautiful sounds again. Everything was perfect.
You have never believed in what the other people have said about him in legends, because what he is like right now, in your arms, fascinated by all of you, is a complete opposite of what is said in all those fairytales.
When you both reached your climaxes, you lay down on the bed together, Namor wrapped his arm around you tightly, and you put your head on his chest listening to his heartbeat. Until you both fell asleep in each others arms, he whispered sweet nothings into your ear and rubbed your nude and soft shoulders.
"In k'áatech, in yaakunaj.
Teech le in yóok'ol kaaba'."
"I love you, my love. You are my whole world."

The Artist and the Sea (Namor x f!Reader)
MASTERLIST // JOIN MY TAGLIST
Requests are open - slowing working my way through them!
Part 2
A/N: Hello Nonnie! Thank you for requesting! It inspired me, and I couldn’t not write it as soon as I saw it. Also, let's pretend we can't see the spears being pointed at Namor in this gif lol. (Again, if any of the Yucatec Maya to English translations are off, please let me know!)
Request: tbh it's my first time requesting something regarding the marvel fandom but can i request a namor x fem reader where they meet at the beach when the reader is painting the landscape of the ocean? if you don't understand or don't want to write this, it's okay <333
Tumblr media
Summary: You meet a stranger on the beach who takes an interest in your paintings, which somehow puts you in the position of painting the King of Talokan’s portrait.
(Warnings: not a lot?, the kisses gets a little steamy, Namor is a little touch starved, WING TOUCHING!!!!!, no smut (nonnie didn’t specify and I didn’t want to deliver hardcore smut to someone who didn’t want it lol), reader doesn’t speak Namor’s language but loves the nicknames anyways, I think that’s it???)
Translations:
ki'ichpam artista – beautiful artist
pétalo – petal
ch'ujuk ch'úupalo' – sweet girl
princesa – princess
The light reflecting off the ocean was a blinding blue, and you had been trying to blend your paint together to mimic the color for 15 minutes already. You grunted with displeasure as your paintbrush stained three shades too dark. Today was a day for painting. The wind wasn’t blowing too hard, the weather was the perfect mix of cool, but not too cold, and the tides were relatively consistent. When you’d walked out onto your back porch earlier this morning and laid your eyes on the little slice of the beach you owned, it almost felt like an invitation.
Now, you were regretting your decision to lug all of your paint supplies out of your tiny studio and down the beach. You rolled your eyes, tossing the palette down onto the old blanket you used to keep any stray paint from spilling onto the beach. You dipped a clean brush into the tan color you had mixed earlier and began working on creating the right texture for the sand.
The beach was mostly empty today, but even during tourist season, there wasn’t much foot traffic this far down the beach. Your grandmother’s house was a small, but cozy cabin-like home, nestled in a small cove that only locals knew about. You had spent many summers here, tucked away in your little slice of heaven, painting anything and everything you saw. When your grandmother had passed away, the deed of the house was transferred to you, and suddenly you were a homeowner.
You had transformed the inside after moving in, turning the office into an art studio, and transforming the bedroom into a library. Your bedroom, if you could call it that, was actually the living room with tapestries hung up as makeshift walls. You didn’t mind, and neither did anyone else. Or they wouldn’t, you thought, if anyone happened to come by.
You sat back on your stool, looking between the sand around you and your canvas. The texture was coming along nicely, and you grinned at your work. Landscapes had never been your forte – most of your commissions were oil portraits – but you had been working on expanding your skills over the last few months.
“You are an artist?”
An unfamiliar voice startled you from your concentration, and you furrowed your brow at the intrusion. You weren’t one to hog the beach, but you’re clearly a busy woman that didn’t want to be bothered. You leaned around the canvas, intent on staying silent and ignoring the man, but did a double take when you made eye contact with the man.
He was undoubtably beautiful, and definitely not a local. His body was adorned with beautifully carved artifacts draping across his chest and shoulders, and the only actual article of clothing he wore was a pair of green shorts. You glanced down at the light flutter at his ankles, which had small wings sprouting from the sides of them. You brought your eyes back up, not wanting him to catch you staring, but the stranger hadn’t taken his eyes off you since you’d acknowledged him.
“I’m a...what?” You asked, blinking. You’d been so distracted by his sudden appearance that you’d forgotten the question he’d asked.
“You are an,” he nodded to the canvas in front of you, “artist. Yes?”
“Yes.” You nodded, standing from your stool. “But I am not very good at landscapes.”
He walked around you, facing the canvas and looking over it with a prompt shake of his head.
“This is beautiful. You are very good.”
“Oh.” You mumbled, ringing your hands together. “Thanks.”
You could feel your cheeks heating at his compliment, and you didn’t want to know why his compliments were getting such a rise out of you. This man was a complete stranger, and his opinions on your art should not have gotten that reaction out of you.
“You are not reacting to me the way I thought you would.”
You stared at your half-finished canvas harder, refusing to look in his eyes again, as you mulled over his statement. Yes, this was definitely the strangest encounter you’d ever experienced, but you lived in a universe where Avengers seemed to be popping up in every city, so the idea of a man from the sea appearing on your beach wasn’t as farfetched as it sounded. He was clearly a powerful being, but you weren’t afraid of him, or his power for that matter.
“How did you think I would react?” You finally asked, peeking at him in your peripheral.
“I am not sure. This is my first time approaching a surface dweller like this.”
“Surface dweller?” You scoffed, finally meeting his gaze.
He had a small smile on his face. “You dwell...amongst the surface. Do you not?”
“I’m assuming you dwell amongst something else?” Your eyes flicked towards the sea and then back at him.
“You assume correctly.” He dipped his head in a nod, adjusting his stance to face you. “I am Namor.”
You tested the name on your tongue, repeating it under your breath. Your gaze ran across his broad chest, trying to gauge the colors of paint you would mix to paint the golden-brown hues of his skin.
“Can I paint you, Namor?”
The words were out of your mouth before you could stop yourself. He was just so pretty, and the artist in you couldn’t deny how beautiful the painting would turn out.
“You want to paint me?” He furrowed his brows, but the grin on his face grew slightly.
“Yes,” you responded quickly, nodding your head with vigor, “I would like to paint you.”
He was silent for a few moments, before shrugging his shoulders in a very human motion. “Okay, ki'ichpam artista. You may paint me.”
Your portrait of Namor would take you a few weeks, maybe even a month to complete. You wanted to highlight his strength and the unbridled power he possessed, but you also wanted to emphasize his beauty. Namor would have to visit you many times for you to get every detail just right, and the thought of that sent an excited flurry of butterflies through your stomach. You thought about taking a photo of him, to speed the process along, but quickly decided against it. It’s not every day that a girl gets to sit with a God, let alone paint one.
The first visit was mostly a sketch session, and you spent the vast majority of the time studying Namor’s features, sketching a few lines, and then erratically erasing different areas of the canvas. Namor sat patiently, watching you mumble under your breath as you captured the angles of his face. He wasn’t used to being studied so closely but being under your careful eye didn’t make him uncomfortable.
“Why did you become an artist?” Namor asked as you looked between your canvas and his face.
“Because I love art.” You murmured, squinting at the line you’d just drawn.
Namor smiled, and you ignored the fluttery feeling in your chest.
“I know that pétalo. I meant, why do you love art?”
You glanced up at him, studying the way his lips curled when he smiled. You began sketching again before you answered him.
“Art brings people together, you know? That’s super cliché, but I guess it’s true.” You shrugged. “Languages are complex. They cause confusion and barrier us from other cultures. But art is a form of communication that doesn’t have those boundaries. Everyone can look at a painting and understand it at its very core, even if they interpret it differently.”
Namor nodded, leaning back on his hands in the sand. You had a sneaky feeling that not many people got to see Namor in this relaxed state and took a mental picture of it so you could sketch it later.
“You have a very pretty way of saying things pétalo.”
You blushed, focusing on the angle of his pointed ears on your canvas.
It wasn’t until your third session with Namor that he began opening up about his home in Talokan. He told you about his people, and how most of the world didn’t know of their existence due to his vigorous efforts to protect them. You had an overwhelming sense that Namor’s pride lay in the ruling of his people, and that he would do anything to protect them.
While he described his homelands to you, you snuck another peek at his ankles. You’d have to ask him for a closer look eventually. The only way you could do them justice in your painting was by touching them, but you didn’t know how to ask.
“You can...touch them, if you need to, pétalo.”
You looked up, stiffening with guilt. You didn’t know what to say to that.
“You cannot hurt me. I promise.” He nudged his foot out, urging you to touch them.
You nodded slowly, softly setting your paintbrush down and standing from your seat. You kneeled down beside him, leaving a trail of featherlight touches along the inside of one of the wings. The texture was unlike anything you’d ever felt before, and you couldn’t help the second stroke you left across the back of the wing.
Namor inhaled sharply and you pulled your hand away, looking up at him with concern.
“Did I hurt you?” you asked, squeezing your hands together.
“No, ch'ujuk ch'úupalo'. They are very...sensitive.”
“Oh. Oh.” You stood up, swiftly turning to walk back towards your canvas, when his hand lightly wrapped around your wrist, stopping you.
“It’s okay, pétalo. No one has touched them in many years. It was a feeling I had forgotten, that’s all.” His eyes shone bright with ease, and the soft smile on his lips was comforting.
You nodded, returning his smile. You noticed that he hadn’t let go of your wrist, even though it was clear you weren’t moving away from him anytime soon.
“Were you born with them?” You asked, looking up at his tall frame.
“Yes. And these, too.” He pointed at his ears, and you couldn’t help it when you reached forward, running a fingertip along their edge.
“Beautiful.” You murmured under your breath, leaning in to get a closer look. Everything about him was beautiful, and you were finding it harder and harder to breathe when you were this close to him.
Namor stumbled back, facing the ocean with such speed that you stumbled forward in his absence.
“I must go. Something is not right at home. I am sorry to leave so quickly. It was just getting good. I will see you again, next week, pétalo.”
You watched him walk back into the water, washing away with the tide, and just like that, he was gone.
The fourth session you were supposed to have with Namor was nearly ruined by a terrible storm brewing on the coast. You’d startled awake to the loud clap of thunder and watched through your window as the ocean violently responded. The rain came soon after, and just as you convinced yourself you wouldn’t be seeing Namor today, his powerful body trudged out of the water and onto the beach.
You met him at your front door, ushering him inside as the storm raged above his head. He stood in your foyer/living room/bedroom and looked around. You froze with the realization that this was the first time he had entered your house. It was strange, you thought, seeing someone so ethereal surrounded by the familiar, but common, walls of your home. You hadn’t done the dishes the night before, and your bed was unmade, but his attention had been snagged by the light coming from your makeshift studio.
“In here, then?” He pointed, gaze returning to you.
“Yeah. I’ll be in there in a minute. I just have to get my sketches.”
As soon as he rounded the corner, you bolted forward, straightening the covers on your messy bed and throwing dirty laundry into a pile in the corner. You ran your fingers through your hair, and finally joined him in the room a few moments later.
He was hunched over, looking at the dozens of sketches you’d drawn of him. You face palmed and internally groaned as you realized that you hadn’t put them away before inviting him inside. This was an embarrassing secret, to say the least, but you couldn’t stop drawing him. Every time he sent you a new look or moved his body in a way that captured your attention, the urge to draw it in your sketchbook wouldn’t leave your mind until you finally gave in and sketched it out.
“You are very talented, ch'ujuk ch'úupalo'.” he said, standing to his full height.
“Thanks.” You mumbled through your hands, trying to hide the fact that you were blushing, again. You shifted your focus to the painting, which was nearing its completion. “I’m almost done with the painting. I think after today I’ll just have to do minor touchups.”
“That is...wonderful, pétalo.” He plopped into one of the chairs you had set up around the room. You moved toward him and reached your hands out, intending to turn his head the way you needed it to finish the painting, but you hesitated. Your arms were frozen, stretched out in front of you as you met his heated gaze.
He shifted forward, keeping his gaze on you as he slowly leaned into your outstretched palms. Your hands curled into hair, and he shuttered, eyes closing as he forcefully pushed his head further into your hold. You tried to ignore the butterflies his slight movement had spurred in your stomach, but the soft groan he let out as you ran your fingers through his hair ruined any chance you had of controlling your blood pressure.
“It has been...a very long time since I’ve been touched so gently, princesa.”
You swallowed, unsure what to do next, but he was quick to hoist you into his lap. You traced his jaw and couldn’t help but glance at his lips as you met his gaze. He wrapped his arms around your waist and tugged you closer to his body.
“I did not mean to fall for you so entirely, ch'ujuk ch'úupalo', but you have not left my mind since I saw you painting on the beach.”
His voice was soft, but his hands tightened around your waist as he spoke. He had to physically restrain himself from pulling your lips down to meet his. But he would wait, a lifetime if he had to, for a sign of consent from you before crushing his lips against yours.
“I finished the painting last night.” You revealed, choking out a laugh. “I just wanted one more day with you before you left.”
Namor let out a deep laugh, throwing his head back against the back of his chair. “What were you planning on doing all day, princesa?”
You groaned, resting your forehead on his shoulder. “I was going to pretend to paint for a few hours before showing it to you.”
“If you wanted to spend more time with me, princesa, you only had to ask.” Namor was grinning wide, running his fingers along the curve of your waist.
“Don’t you have important kingly things to attend to?”
“Yes, but nothing that can’t be rearranged, ch'ujuk ch'úupalo'. You are also important to me.”
You smiled, cradling his face between your hands. His expression turned molten as you leaned into him, parting your lips in anticipation. He cupped the back of your head, pulling you the rest of the way down to meet his lips. The kiss was both sweet and lustful. His tongue dominated yours, begging for more as he ran his hands over your waist.
He pulled away from you abruptly, squeezing your waist. You were about to crawl off of his lap and begin profusely apologizing to him, but his words stopped you.
“You said you finished the painting. Can I see it?”
“Of course.” You jumped off of his lap and ran to the closet you’d hidden it in, suddenly excited to reveal it to him. You’d been keeping it a secret until it was finished, and to say you were eager to hear his thoughts on it was an understatement.
You set it on your canvas stand and stepped back, allowing him to fully see the painting. It had come out better than you’d hoped, and you’d known by the time you were halfway finished that it would be your best portrait yet.
He leaned in, marking the tiny details you’d spent hours polishing, and smiled.
“Ch'ujuk ch'úupalo', I have seen many paintings of me over the years, but none come close to this. You are so talented, princesa.”
“Do you really like it?” You asked, clutching your hands into your chest.
“I love it, my ki'ichpam artista. If I could take it with me and hang it for all my people to see, I would.”
“Really?” You squeaked, trying not to tear up at his declaration.
“Do you like it?” He asked, raising an eyebrow at you.
“I think it’s my favorite painting I’ve ever done.” You breathed, glancing at it.
“You should keep it, ch'ujuk ch'úupalo'. Hang it in your home as a reminder of me, for when I have to attend to those kingly duties.”
You thought it over for a moment, and then smiled. “Okay.”
Parting with that painting was something you’d been dreading since you’d started it, along with the idea of not seeing Namor on a regular basis, but he’d just relieved your doubts in one sentence. You got to keep the painting and you’d be seeing him again.
“Okay.” He repeated, pulling at your waist until you were situated in front of him. He leaned down, planting a soft kiss on your lips, and you finally gave into those damned butterflies, wrapping your arms around his neck and pulling him in for another kiss.

Sugar daddy Namor spoiling reader with everything that is possible and making she move into his palace?
Namor x Reader
Summary: You had simply done a good deed not expecting anything in return. But now you had a mysterious king showering you with gifts and affection.
Genre: Fluff angst and fluff.
AN: probably not what you had in mind but my brain just kept going
Tumblr media
You met him days after moving back to your ancestral home. A bittersweet return to the large and solitary beach house you had inherited. You were determined to make the best of it despite how far you were from any town and the rumors that still lingered about your grandfather and other family. You had all been unique. The whispers that you could breathe underwater weren't necessarily wrong.
You had startled him that first day. You had swam far out wanting to cool down during the excruciating heat of the summer. If anyone saw you they would wonder about the bubble that covered your mouth and nose, like a clear scuba mask. Manipulating water was a skill that ran in your family and you had been taught how to preserve air for yourself early in childhood.
You were swimming deep when you saw the man drifting, his ankle tangled in long tendrils of seaweed. You'd never seen such a man with golden tanned skin, draped in jewelry, with small wings on his ankles. You swam up to him, already thinking of how you were going to drag a body back to the shore and how you would explain it to authorities.
You realized as you got closer that he didn't have the normal pale pallor that you would find with a drowned body. You cupped his cheek gently, feeling warmth. Your eyes widened just as he opened his own. He looked surprised but grabbed your hand before you could move away from him.
"Help me," You jolted when you heard his voice. It was not every day you met someone who could communicate underwater. The look in his eyes held no threat but only a silent plea. He tugged his leg and you could see just how tangled up he was.
You swam down and pulled at the seaweed. Yanking and clawing at the tendrils wrapped around his ankles. You nicked one of his wings with your nail and he jerked.
"Gently please, I'd rather not lose an appendage," He said, flicking his ankle.
You nodded and shrugged apologetically. He gave you a small smile in acknowledgement. You continued to tug at the plant but it only grew tighter. Giving up, you swam toward the ocean floor, looking for anything sharp.
"There's nothing, I already looked," the man said, swaying lazily in the water.
You glanced up at him, made a gesture to give you a moment, before you headed for the surface.
"Wait, don't just leave me here," You heard the man call to you.
In record time you swam back to shore and headed into your house. The machete you kept near the door was finally going to be put to some use for once. It was heavier than you remembered and even heavier once you were back underwater.
The man saw you approaching, "Woman, you could have told me you were coming back!"
You just laughed then started hacking away at the seaweed. Within the hour you found yourself sitting on the beach with the mysterious man. You both were exhausted and silent.
"Thank you, I'd been down there for awhile," the man said, running his fingers through his wet hair in embarrassment.
"How did you get stuck down there?" You asked as you wrung out your hair.
"That's the first question you ask? Not 'who are you?' or 'why do you have wings?' or 'how can you breathe underwater?'" The man asked incredulously.
"In case you didn't notice, I can also breathe underwater in my own way, and we got here much quicker because I manipulated the water to take us to shore. Whatever 'unique' qualities you have are not my business," You replied, "I'm y/n."
"Those on land call me Namor," he replied, taking in your features, "You are very beautiful."
The compliment caught you off guard making your face flush. "So, um, Namor, do you need anymore help?"
"With some rest I should be fine and to answer your previous question, I was hunting a fish," Namor leaned back looking out into the horizon. The sun was close to setting now, painting everything in a golden hue. He was stunning.
You shook your head to clear your thoughts, "You were hunting a fish?"
"There is a very specific fish, native to these islands, one of my people asked if I could find one. They want to study some aspect of it. I did not ask too many questions, I simply wanted a reason to venture farther than our borders. I did not expect the fish to be so hard to catch or smart enough to lure me into that forest of seaweed," Namor huffed and turned at the sound of your laughter, "Do I amuse you?"
"Yes," You replied unapologetically, "You look like a king, Namor, and you got caught in seaweed chasing a fish because you wanted to go out for a swim."
"I am a King, and yes that is true. In my defense, it was a rather small and fast fish," Namor couldn't help but chuckle at himself.
"Well, King Namor, it was nice to meet you, and save you. I won't pry anymore and I will keep your secret if you keep mine," You said as you got up and dusted off the sand. The sun had set and the cold was already settling in.
"Do you live in that place?" Namor asked, gesturing toward your home on the hill.
"Yes. It is my family home, although I am the only one left," You replied, a wistful look in your eyes as you took in the scene.
"It used to be full of life," Namor was standing next to you now, looking at your home, "I am sorry for your losses."
"You knew my family," You asked, surprised.
"I knew some of them. Your people have helped me before. Maybe those of us who can dwell in the ocean are all connected," Namor smiled down at you, "Be well, y/n. This will not be our last meeting."
He took your hand and kissed the back of it chastely before he walked back into the ocean. The blush had returned to your face, and only intensified as you watched the half naked man step back into the ocean with a rogue-ish smile playing across his face.
...
It started with flowers. Flowers of every kind, color, variety would appear in flourishing bouquets at your door step. Tied together with twine and always appearing in the morning. You never caught him but you knew they were his doing. It went on for two weeks before you made sure to wake up early enough that you could intercept him.
"You think I do not know when you are awake, pretty one," Namor said right next to your ear, making you jump. You had been waiting on your porch for hours in silence.
"Namor! Don't sneak up on me!" You exclaim, smacking his shoulder. He caught your hand and lay a kiss on your knuckles.
"You were waiting for me? Why have you not come to the beach? I have been waiting for you," Namor asked standing very close to you.
"I've been busy, and the storm has kept me inside," You weren't lying. You had been busy looking up anything you could find on the mysterious man before you. Although you hadn't found much. "You were waiting for me?"
"Yes, I have more gifts for you," Namor said with a grin, he pulled you to the bench near your door and sat you down. You noticed he actually wore a type of cloak or cape this time. Although he still wore those sinful shorts. From somewhere in the cape he pulled a small canvas bag. "I had this made for you."
You watched as he pulled a gold necklace on a hammered chain from the small pouch. A rough green gem hung from it and glinted in the light of the sunrise. You lifted your palm up to catch the hanging gem and admired it closely.
"Let me put it on for you," Namor insisted. You turned and allowed him to move your hair to the side and place the necklace around your neck. His soft touches and the light breeze of his breath sent shivers down your spine. You didn't know why you accepted it without any hesitation.
You turned to him, "Namor, why are you doing this?"
He let out an amused chuckle, "Is it not obvious? I am courting you."
You stared at him and felt your heart flutter as your face turned red. He brushed your hair out of your face then touched the jewel that now lay on your breastbone.
"This is a promise of my affections. I felt I needed to come on a bit stronger since the flowers weren't working. But, in yakunaj, nothing is too valuable for you," Namor winked at you as he combed his fingers through your hair.
"Affection? Courting?" You were still sitting in disbelief.
"Yes. I want you to be my queen, y/n," Namor said with a surety that came so naturally you just nodded.
You shook yourself out of your stupor, "But you don't know me, and I don't know you."
"This is true, but that is why I have come here and will continue to come here. I will make sure you know how much I admire and wish for you to be mine, and we can learn more about each other. It's simple, no?" Namor was being cheeky and you couldn't help but crack a smile.
"But I cannot stay today. I had only meant to give you your gift but I have some duties to attend to. I will return tomorrow at a much more convenient time for you," Namor stood with a flourish. The sun was now fully risen and the storm clouds that had been hanging on for the past week had dissipated. "Do not miss me too much in the mean time."
Namor kissed your hand again and started heading back to the beach, leaving you in a stupor. Your mind was racing and your heart was beating out of control. You fingered the necklace and a smile spread across your face. You'd never experienced anything like this before and you already knew that you were going to miss him.
...
The weeks that followed found you and Namor seeing each other daily. He brought gifts every time, from jewels to flowers. Food and artifacts he handmade. You tried to refuse some of the larger ones but he insisted. The amount of jewelry you now owned had more monetary value than you had in your whole life combined.
You spent days together talking and learning everything about each other. You learned that a couple centuries ago one of your ancestors had helped Namor and his people when a strong storm had washed his explorative mission team on to their beach. You learned about Talokan and its history. Namor asked about your family and your abilities. Swimming together and enjoying the water was one of your favorite pass times. Being able to spend time together on sea and land was a novelty for the both of you.
Months passed as you courted. He was ever the gentleman even when he had stolen a kiss from you and apologized for it. You had simply pulled him in for a deeper and longer kiss. You tried to give him gifts in return but he merely asked for affection instead.
Namor was touch starved to say the least. Once you were both comfortable with each other he could always be found holding your hand, playing with your hair, tracing his fingers across your skin, and practically being melded to your side.
When he had told you the name his people called him and insisted that you call him the same, you refused. No manner of convincing could make you change your mind, for now. You felt you were not worthy to call him that because you were still not sure if you would accept a proposal from him when the day came.
"In yakunaj, I want to show you Talokan," Namor said to you one day while you were huddled up on the couch in your living room. A nasty storm had been raging outside for three days and Namor had stayed with you.
You turned to him slightly, "Are you sure?"
"I want you to see the kingdom you will rule by my side," Namor kissed your temple, "I know you will love it."
Once the storm subsided Namor took you to see Talokan. His flourishing descriptions of it did not do it justice. It was more beautiful and magnificent than you could have anticipated. But his people were weary of you. He brushed it off but you saw how Namora and Attuma analyzed you, approached you with caution despite the enthusiastic welcome from their King.
When Namor returned you to your home the next day you did not let him know of your apprehension. As much as it pained you, you did not visit the beach for a few days. Even leaving your home to take a trip to town so that when he came looking you were no where to be found.
You intentionally returned back to your home during a storm. Hoping the torrential downpour would keep Namor at bay. But he was there waiting for you, soaked through with the cold rain, looking dejected as he sat on the steps of your porch. He stayed seated as you approached, looking up at you with searching eyes.
You stopped in front of him, not minding the rain that was soaking through your clothes. You had missed him so much. You had missed his soft touches, lingering kisses, and the way he made you truly feel like you deserved to be queen.
"In yakunaj, I don't know what I've done but let me fix it," Namor stood now, pulling you into his arms desperately. His hug was fierce and consuming as he spoke in your ear, "Whatever it is you want or need I will give it to you. If I upset you I will beg for forgiveness on my knees. If you are angry with me I will let you strike me. Just do not disappear from me again. In yakunaj, in reina. Please I can not bare it."
Tears welled up in your eyes and you hugged him back just as desperately, "I'm sorry."
...
"They do not matter, y/n. I just need to tell them how you saved me and they will welcome you," Namor had just listened to all your worries, "Regardless they will have to accept you since I chose you to be my queen."
"Namor, I don't want them to resent you," You were laying in his arms on the sofa, the fire blazing in the fireplace to warm you after your soak in the rain.
"They will see just how amazing you are, I promise," Namor reassured you.
"Ask them to tell you their thoughts, and don't punish them for it. I know how much Namora and Attuma mean to you. They are your family and know your people better than I ever could," You pleaded with him.
"And if they can accept you will you finally accept me? Will you be my queen and call me by my name?" Namor looked deeply into your eyes, tilting your chin up slightly. He glanced at your lips briefly.
"Yes, Namor. I will accept you if they accept me," You breathe out. His pupils darkened with desire just before he claimed your lips. His kisses soon softened as he whispered promises of your happiness and your future with him.
...
The next time you found yourself on the beach the sun was blazing as you waited. Then they rose from the surf, Namor flanked by Namora and Attuma. Your heart raced at the sight of the three of them. Namor gave nothing away as he approached you.
When he stopped short and Namora and Attuma stepped forward, you resisted the urge to back up. But they did not look at you with disdain as they did before. Instead they bowed on one knee and together said, "K reina!"
A smile exploded onto Namor's face as he quickly closed the distance between the two of you and lifted you in his arms. Before you could protest he wrapped his arm around your waist, cradled the back of your head and took your lips in a passionate kiss.
A soft but distinct cough interrupted you, and you felt yourself go hot with embarrassment. Namora had an eyebrow raised and looked slightly judgmental, but there was a softness to it. Attuma was smiling at the sight of you in the arms of the happy King.
"In yakunaj, I kept my promise," His cheeky smile was back.
You looked at the two Talokanil in front of you. Then the man at your side. He was as stunning as ever in the morning sun. Your doubts had been abated and the happiness in his voice made your heart skip a beat, "K'uk'ulkan, in ajawo', my love. Make me your queen."
Namor tilted his forehead against yours, trying to cover up the tears of joy that welled up in his eyes. That's when a small fleet of Talokanil broke the surface bearing more gifts of flowers, jewelry, and handmade goods. You gaped at the lavish display and the smiling faces of the people.
"What is that?" You turned to your king.
He ran his hand through his hair with a bashful look, "It was incase you said no and I needed to convince you a little more. It was Namora's idea. She said I hadn't given you enough if I was still convincing you!"
Namora looked flabbergasted and Attuma was openly laughing. It was a surprise to see the playful side of the Talokanil as Namora made an obscene gesture behind Namor's back. Even the people in the water were smiling.
"Let's go home," You finally said as you took Namor's hand, a smile gracing your face as you looked out to the sea.
...
AN: There we go. I know it could have been fluffier but I can't help where my brain goes sometimes.
Hope you enjoyed

IT WAS NOW EVENING, the sun dipping below the horizon kissing the ocean goodbye, the sky a purplish-orange color adorn with a few grey clouds as Huracan and you were still outside enjoying the last bits of the day before it was time to go back in.
You had came to term with the fact that Huracan staying with you was only going to be momentarily. You grew attached to the child due to the loneliness that you felt from staying by herself for months in isolation, away from others due to your health issues.
You wondered if Huracan was also lonely and just wanted some company but your mind now questioning if Huracan has a family, what if they are waiting for him? Worried about him and in search of him, thinking of the worst things that could have happened to him. This left you to ruminate over
your thoughts as your gaze fall on the sky, that is becoming darker and darker.
There was thunder clouds looming above you due to the hot weather you experienced today, the clouds were forming and becoming aggravated with each second that passed by— this alarming you as you walk back to the tidal pool to retrieve Huracan and putting a stop to your fleeting thoughts.
"C'mon, Hura. We need to get back in." You say, watching as the boy breaks through the surface of the water— eyes sparkling with life as he listens to you instantly, emerging from the pool only to latch onto your arm, his skin turning back into a shade of blue as you both walk home.
The rain came down. It suddenly came down heavy causing you to gasp in shock when the harsh rain pelted down onto you, you turn towards Huracan to notice that he had his eyes closed— enjoying the rain water that got soaked into his skin while you on the other hand felt a shiver tingling down your spine even though the air was warm.
Knowing that if you had to stay in the rain for way too long— you would definitely get sick but watching the boy enjoy the fresh water that falls onto him , you decided to wait a few minutes because seeing his face brighten up from just the simple feeling of rain water against his skin made you realize that the simple things in life is what makes living much better, it made you feel at ease with yourself.
A bright flash of purple and then a loud crackling noise followed by a hiss came from above you and Huracan shocks you at the loud noise and the thunderstorm that has finally brewed up, the rain became even heavier causing your heart to beat faster.
"Let's get back inside, we don't want to become fried fish today." You say, laughing at your lame excuse of a joke which Huracan didn't understand fully but he did understand that you wanted to go back inside from the way your body had stiffened slightly.
He was about to agree but then the sight of a shiny, shell that was a bit closer to the ocean water grabs his attention— he wanted to get that shell so that he could give it to you, forgetting that you wanted to go back in as he leaves your side, alarming you as he runs down the bank to go and retrieve the shell.
"Huracan!" You shout out alarmed, the rain pelting down heavily, the sky above you becoming dark— the only source of light now coming from the lighting that viciously flashed from above and the few outside lights from your house.
You slide down the steep slope to get to the boy only for your flip-flop to get stuck into something and in turn crashing into the youngster causing him to also fall and let out a small yelp.
"oh gosh, Hura! I'm so sorry, I didn't mean to!" You cried out, you moved to his side to see that you had slightly bruised his knee cap, crimson escaping from the bruise as guilt consumes you from being so unconscious and not watching where you walked.
Huracan didn't feel much pain from the small bruise, he was about to tell you it's okay but you tore a small part of your shirt to help stop the bleeding. A small amount of blood covered your finger tips when you wrapped the small piece of cloth around his tiny knee cap, tightening the cloth around it.
A throbbing feeling around your ankle became prominent as you gazes down at your leg, to find that you had slightly twisted your ankle due to your flip-flop getting stuck onto something— that being the whole reason you slipped.
A small cry leaves from your parted lips, the thunderstorm viciously going on above them as the rain fell down. Your body was drenched in rain water, making you shiver adding more to the pain you felt in your ankle.
"Y-Y/N!" the young child cried out grasping onto your shoulders, he gazed at you to find that tears were also trailing down your cheeks with the rain water, your hands covered in wet sea sand and dabs of blood.
This made tears to form in Huracan's eyes, he was now scared and worried about you, the person that took care of him like he was their own child— he didn't know what to do to help you, making him feel even more worried and scared as the thunder flashed and rumbled.
Your body that trembled suddenly went stiff, your blood running cold— you felt like you and Huracan were being watched.
You were right.
The sound of something fluttering, similar to the sound of a rattle snake mingled with the harsh noises of the rain, lightning and the waves that crashed close by.
The fluttering sound stops , it suddenly goes eeirely quite, Huracan's whimpers go silent and before you could comprehend whether you was just feeling paranoid —something grasped the collar of the shirt you wore and pulled you harshly away from Huracan, throwing you to the other side away from him.
You heard Huracan scream your name out, your body feeling extremly numb, the world around you spinning while terror sunk into every firbe of your being.
Your neck twists to the side to see what had thrown you so viciously away from Huracan, fear laminating in your eyes, your gaze being met with the tip of a sharp spear, your body flinching away from it in terror but it was now pressed against the side of your neck in a threatening manner to slice your head off clean.
The lightning struck again, giving you a better vision of what was being hostile towards you , your eyes widening when your gaze falls on a man— his entire being radiate regality from the way his body oozed confidence to the jewelry that was adorn upon him. His chest covered in some sort of metal that was beautiful crafted, the same type of metal also adorning his biceps and wrists.
She also noticed that he had pointed ears, adorn with jewels just like the rest of him.
You shakily raise your hands, to say you was no threat or harm but this act seemed to make the man even more infuriated when he spotted dabs of blood smeared on your finger tips and then seeing blood around the area where Huracan was.
"How dare you take my son away and harm him?"
Shit. Was the first thought that came to your mind, you was right, Huracan did have someone to go back to— your thoughts being cut short when the cold tip of the spear pressed even closer to your neck that you could feel the pressure tearing slightly into your skin.
Your words were stuck in your throat from fear, you couldn't formulate a response except for a shaky breath to escape past your lips, your body trembling from pain and fear.
Due to your lack of response that made the King even more agitated, his spear was about to press into the side of your neck but tiny hands wrapped around his arm, holding it in place before he could slash at you.
"Father, please don't!" the young child cried out in his own language, this alerting the king who turns towards his son— the furious look that had adorn his face moments ago was replaced by one that was filled with worry.
"Huracan, my child. Are you alright? Did it hurt you?" his voice venomous when he says the word it , you didn't understand what they were saying but from the side glare the man had passed to you, you knew he had said something about you.
"No! Do not bring harm to y/n, she had saved me! Please do not harm her, she didn't do anything wrong. If you want to punish someone, father— it should be me, I should have never left Talokan." The boy sobs out, hearing Huracan's broken voice made your chest hurt— your eyes squeezing shut to prevent any tears from escaping as everything around you started to spin, the world around you becoming blurry as all the pain you felt physically and emotionally became blunt.
Your vision being filled with black dots that became larger until your eyes closed completely, body slumping into the sand— the fear you felt along with the pain made you fall unconscious this grabbing Huracan's attention, the boy letting go of his father's arm to rush towards you.
A cry leaves past his parted lips, his hands reached out to hug your cold body against his.
"Look what you have done, father. You killed her!" The boy says inbetween sobs, you was far from dead but to Huracan seeing your still body, no warm smile on your face and your eyes that twinkled with care and affection was no longer there— you looked dead to him.
K'uk'ulkan looked down at you. His son held onto you so gently, the rain easing down — the thunderstorm slowly clearing up.
"Hura.. she's not dead." The king says while his inner voice says  'well not yet'. He didn't trust you, this human but the way his son held onto you like his own life depended on you— he could not just kill you after he found out you had saved his son.
"You have to help her then or else I'll hate you forever." Huracan suddenly spat out— eyes shining bright with anger and saddness, his words stung K'uk'ulkan , his heart aching at the words his son spewed at him. An expression of hurt forms on K'uk'ulkan's face, a soft sigh leaving past his lips.
He glances down at your unconscious form that laid on the sand, his son's words floating around in his mind. He bends down towards you, taking in your features— noticing your skin has gotten paler and your ankle was swelling.
He was not keen on helping you, a surface dweller, he had hate for these disparage creatures but seeing how his son has become attached to you, clinging. He couldn't just kill you.
With one last glance towards your unconscious body, he looks back towards the raging ocean as he signals for Namora to come to him. He turns away and looks down at his son, his heart softening when he sees the tears on his cheeks as he sighs lightly.
'I'm only doing this for you my child.'

"Mornings Like This"
Summary: A little bit of how your mornings with Namor were.
Pairing: Namor x Fem!Reader
Warnings: Pure fluff and slight smut
A/N: I've been away from Tumblr for a while and I recently had a creative spurt that resulted in three different stories, and this is one of them! Sorry for possible grammatical errors and please enjoy!
Tumblr media
Namor loved mornings like this.
The opportunity to wake up next to you could only have been a gift sent from a divine being. Seeing her smooth face, slow breathing, and the little crease forming between your brows was quite a sight for him.
His dark eyes would travel to your parted lips, luscious and pouty, then down to your neck, where love marks adorned it, a beautiful reminder of the night before.
The memory of having you on top of him with your eyes closed and lips parted in pure ecstasy was fresh in his mind. You looked absurdly heavenly, a true goddess.
The memories flowed freely through the king's mind, in a complete trance of love and adoration.
"You're looking" You would say without opening your eyes, the low voice making him smile. "It's not my fault you look so wonderful in the morning" Namor retorts earning a small grimace from you, he would give that husky chuckle that never failed to send butterflies in your stomach. "You say that because you love me" You would answer by opening one of your eyes, seeing the image of your loved one smiling in front of you.
Your hand would go up to his face. Namor had always been as wonderful and fierce as the stories told. But having him there, in the vulnerability of their shared bed, stirred the rawest, most beautiful emotions in her chest.
"They say that life is better when you are loving and being loved" He would reply now kissing the palm of your hand. The beard tickled.
The kisses would make their way to your neck, covering the love marks with the light touch of his lips making you moan in satisfaction. Namor's simple touch would make you melt beneath him, he knew the effect he had on you and would always use it to get the best reactions out of you. He would easily reach your lips, in a slow and lazy kiss. His hands running over your body again, tracing the familiar curves.
You would leave a bite on his bottom lip, making him smile. Namor never hid the effect you had on him, he was devoted to your existence, capable of moving seas and lands if it meant your happiness.
In that bubble of happiness, you and Namor would start your day, light and warm, showing each other how deeply you loved each other.

Say it with me:
Namor would not speak spanish unless he absolutely had to
He would speak Yucatec Mayan/Maya Yucateco
Here are translating sites to use:

I better not catch y'all writing K'uk'ulkan speaking spanish unless the story actually calls for it.
If you know better sites, feel free to reblog the links to it so we can avoid erasing this mesoamerican man's actual language and culture in fic writing.

"Baby, baby, baby… "
Evil Needle & Sivey—"Baby"
He liked to kneel before her and kiss her belly button first.
The indentation on her lower stomach seemed to be his activation button for Lebadi and she loved to stand over him, weaving her fingers into his soft black curls that crowned loosely around his scalp, still moist from the sea. The tip of his warm tongue dipped in and out and when he kissed the skin around her belly piercing, his dark brown eyes never left hers.
That was his way… always.
Touch. Kiss. Gaze up at her. Kiss again. Lick. Stare deep into her soul before sucking and tasting again, lowering his head to her sopping folds that plumped and bloomed open, revealing the sticky pink entrance to paradise. She learned over the two years of their forbidden courtship that he used those dark eyes to claim ownership of her. Every part of her. Cloying… fiery at times, and oh, so sensual, the sloe-eyed gaze of K'uk'ulkan demanded obedience. Submission.
She gave in.
The loss of will had her leasing a small houseboat in the middle of the Indian Ocean. Staying on the water was the only way to keep their liaison a secret from her world. He couldn't come on land without alarming her people, and she couldn't go down into his depths either, so they were forced to meet in the middle far off the Umkhombe Coast.
Anticipating his arrival was always the best part of their unions. She'd dance seductively on the deck, playing the erotic sounds of her favorite joot band, a style of Wakandan music that mixed instrumental sounds with dubbed vocalizations that played with the human voice in strange ways to evoke a hypnotic, romantic mood. Draped in a sheer azure cover-up with nothing else underneath except for a gold-hooped belly chain with matching bracelets on her wrists, Lebadi cranked up the swirling sounds and gyrated her hips with the syncopated rhythms. Tapping her bare feet on the deck with her arms dancing in the air, she snaked her body with sultry rolls of her hips to tease him from the sea.
Sipping on honey wine, she'd grab a handful of a mixture made from dried flower petals, spiced herbs, and brown sugar to rub against her shaved mound so that the scent of her juicy pussy was added. She called it her love offering and sprinkled it into the ocean, helping to entice his arrival sooner.
It always worked.
Humming and swiveling her loose hips, her eyes followed the line of the horizon illuminated by silver moonlight, waiting for the waters to part as her offering sank below the surface.
There!
A ripple breaking the tranquil ocean that grew into a wave rising to the starlight, his taut form bursting through a mountain of dark liquid, wings fluttering… behold… K'uk'ulkan. He flew high above Lebadi's line of sight, floating gently on a balmy breeze toward her, his dashing eyes never leaving her face.
Lebadi danced, twining her arms with slow sinuous motions that gestured for his company. When he landed next to her, she parted her sheer covering and fingered her folds, sharing glimpses of her wet arousal glistening like dew on a gossamer web across her fingertips.
"Namor…" she purred.
He closed his eyes and his nostrils flared, taking in the sweet odor of her swollen folds.
Down he went, on his knees, clasping desperate fingers on her graceful hips.
"In yaakunaj…" he murmured, sliding a fat wet tongue across her stomach before pushing his entire face into her pussy.
"Show me how much you love me, then," she replied with breathless abandon.
"Ch'ujuk," he whispered.
Sweet. That's what she tasted like to him. She kept that pussy sweet and delicious, like a ripe mango, eating plenty of fresh fruit and honey before traveling to see him.
Hot kisses slathered her clit with saliva and his mouth wasted very little time becoming reacquainted with what belonged to him. He sucked and licked her delicate parts, tracing wet silhouettes with an artful tongue tip. She gasped out loud, holding back her release until he told her she had permission to do so.
Standing up, Namor peeled off his skintight shorts, and she helped him unfasten his choker necklace. Tossing it on one of the bolted chairs set up for deep-sea fishing, he led her into the interior of the boat where the luxury stateroom awaited their in-depth union. He slid his fingers on the pearl clasps of her cover-up and pulled it off. Slanting his head to align his mouth with hers properly, his warm belly rested upright against hers, turning their bodies into writhing, serpentine creatures yearning to become one flesh… one being.
The interlocking of their tongues breathed life into her clit and it came alive between her thighs, thumping a staccato rhythm that made her pussy throb in anticipation for deep-rooted dick that would take her far beyond her stimulated senses.
Lebadi dropped to her knees and engulfed his thickening length into her greedy mouth, slurping his dick like it was the last bit of nourishment she would ever have between her full lips. Her neck worked his girth as it stretched her lascivious mouth, making her cheek and jaw muscles exhausted from handling such a thick erection. She made his dick shiny and licked around the head where pre-cum spilled all over her tongue. Namor tasted like the sea and promises of something smoky and rich that she couldn't get enough of. He threaded his fingers through her textured hair, twisting into the heavy locs securely before yanking her head back so her eyes stayed fixed on his face. Fisting his dick, he pressed it against her painted lush mouth, forcing her to lick away the spewing of clear arousal that had his lips twisted up with pleasure.
The man his people called K'uk'ulkan hated surface dwellers.
But he loved her.
The cognitive dissonance was never lost on Lebadi, even with all the libidinous, erotic things he did to her wanton body. She became a willing concubine under his magic touch. He was unpredictable. Dangerous. Irresistible. Their forbidden love was an addiction she couldn't be without. They were both from cultures that prided themselves on secrecy and discretion. Being practically invisible to the rest of mankind kept their people safe… and yet, they chose to be reckless with one another. It made their love illicit and delicious.
His fingers grazed against her cheek as a clap of thunder boomed above them.
"K'iibal cháak," he said. "The thunder… it will bring a strong rain."
"There was a ring around the moon. It won't rain until three days from now," she said.
He sniffed the air.
"Sáamal," he said.
Tomorrow. It would rain sooner than what the gauzy, reddish ring of light around the moon told her. Rain meant poor weather on the water, no lazy day of sunshine, and swimming with him in the open ocean.
He lifted her in his arms and placed her lovingly on the berth they would share. His dick pointed at her with a raging hardness that needed careful tending. She parted her thighs and used her fingers to push open her folds for him. The thick vein on the top of his erection showed the severity of his need. His slit wept pearls of pre-cum onto the berth. His regal bearing looked mystical in the low candlelight she had illuminating the quarters. He crawled onto the bedding and wedged himself between her legs. Gripping the heft of his dick securely, he twisted his fingers under the thick ridge of his frenulum and pushed the wide tip against her slick opening. Her pussy throbbed, letting him see the pink entrance wink open. The sight of it excited him more, and he held his slit closer to her as sizzling ropes of thick cum shot all over her, drenching her folds. It was so hot that she hissed with the intense feeling, wanting more. He gave it, cumming all over her clit, drowning it with a whiteness as creamy as icing on a cake. Namor groaned out loud and aimed his release toward her stomach, where warmer streaks painted her dark brown skin, pooling into her belly button before turning clear and messy all over.
Lebadi whimpered and played with his cum across her vulva. She spanked her glossy folds and Namor growled with pleasure deep inside his throat. Fingering her pussy, she licked his cum off of each fingertip like it was a sugary glaze. He dipped his finger into the sticky heat and traced it along her lips until she swallowed it all. Pushing her legs open wider, he parted the curtains of her inner lips and penetrated the deepest part of Lebadi, forcing the whimpers of happiness to ring in his ears, ushering a pleased smile to his face that lit up his eyes as well. He cradled the side of her neck and pulled out, swiftly thrusting back in again to make sure he hit her spot just right and she clawed his back to let him know he made it.
Linking her ankles around his waist, she panted as he stroked her walls, seeking new pleasure points to rub against, plucking out heavy moans from her mouth. At one point, she couldn't even close her lips, the delicious tugging against her clit weakening her hold on his shoulders. Arching her back, she sought his right earlobe and bit the pointed tip that was so sensitive to the touch. Namor groaned and pistoned his hips faster, the soft wavy pubic hairs of his groin mingling with hers until everything was frothy and wet with sweat and her slickness. The friction caused her to pee a little from the pressure inside and out, but her lover didn't care. He accepted all offerings from her body, everything became lubrication and a sign that he was putting in the necessary work to please her.
The churning water outside couldn't create more waves like the ones he made between the joining of her thighs, fucking her until she was cross-eyed and the cultivated coils in her thick hair flattened. His lips tilted up at the corners like a crescent moon then, pleased with her breathy sighs and pleadings for more until a strange shadow clouded his dark eyes. He stared at her primrose pink opening surrounded by the rich raven brown of her vulva, adoring the contrast of colors her body created compared to his sun-drenched sienna brown. Licking the pebbled nipples on her breasts, Namor thrust forward and cried out her name, his orgasm transforming his face into such sublime beauty that Lebadi wept under him, breaking apart all over his sturdy length.
His warm sweat fell onto her and cooled within seconds. He stayed inside of her pussy, filling it with more cum until he was satisfied that she was sated from clenching all over him.
Namor rested his head on her breasts. His breathing became soft as she fingered his hair. They fell asleep together just as light raindrops fell outside, making a gentle patter on the houseboat's roof. Both of them had been wrong in predicting the weather. No matter, though. Their entangled bodies basked in the afterglow of lovemaking.
Tumblr media
The rain splattered harder on the roof.
Lebadi woke up with Namor still asleep on her chest, looking all serene and cozy while she listened to the rainfall outside. The houseboat rocked on the water and she wondered if they should move more inland to avoid larger waves.
His body had cooled on top of hers, and she reached for a thin blanket to cover them.
She stopped.
They weren't alone.
The shadow of a person stood across from them in the stateroom. The candles had burned out, and the moon had shifted its position in the sky, making it difficult to see who watched the forbidden lovers sleep. Lebadi shook Namor awake and his senses went into overdrive immediately. He rose from the berth, blocking her body from the intruder.
"Ba'ax ka beetik?" said a muffled woman's voice in Namor's language.
Namor picked up a small lighter and held it against the wick of a large yellow candle resting on a small wooden dresser. He spoke to the woman with an irritated tone.
"Táan in chan weele'—"
"Jach u yoojel tuus," the woman replied.
Namor flung a dismissive wave of his hand to the stranger and she lunged for him, coming into the light. Most of her face was covered with what looked like a green and blue turtle shell. Her skin was a pale blue color, too, a sharp contrast to the dark wet hair that hung past her shoulders. She had eyes like Namor's. Intense and angry.
"Ko'x!" the woman shouted, grabbing Namor's arm.
He shoved her back and Lebadi jumped out of the berth, grabbing for a pair of panties and a tank top lying across a chair.
"Is this your wife?!" Lebadi screamed, more embarrassed than angry.
Namor lowered his head before shaking it.
"She is not my wife… eetbak'el… same family… my cousin. Namora."
Namora tilted her head and stared at Lebadi with narrowed eyes. Her voice sounded guttural and mean.
"Bix a k'aaba teech?" Namora spat out.
"Do not answer her," Namor said.
Lebadi held her own name on her tongue as Namor commanded. Namora took a closer step, and she moved behind Namor for protection.
"I can't tell you my name," Lebadi said.
"Ma' tu na'tik," Namor said.
"She doesn't understand for real, or are you just saying that to fool me?" Lebadi asked.
Namor grabbed Namora's arm and pulled her outside onto the open deck while still naked, sliding the door shut behind him. Lebadi waited on the berth and listened to them argue. Their passionate voices raged with loud aggression for over an hour. When silence prevailed, she opened the door and stepped out to check on him. The rain had tapered down to a light drizzle, despite the grouping of menacing gray clouds at least a mile away in the sky.
Namora sat on one of the fishing chairs and Namor sat next to her on the other one. Lebadi reached into a cooler near the sliding door and pulled out two bottled waters. She handed one to Namora.
"Uk'ahech? A k'át uk'ul?" Lebadi asked, hoping she pronounced the words 'thirsty' and 'drink' correctly without starting a war of words between the cousins again.
Namora shook her head and waved her hand.
"She can only drink underwater. She can't breathe up here," Namor said.
"Oh," Lebadi said.
She put the bottles back in the cooler and stood near Namor.
"Is everything okay? Why is she so upset?" Lebadi said.
Namor reached for her hand and threaded his fingers with hers. Namora jerked her head away as if the show of affection disgusted her.
"What is going on?" Lebadi asked.
Namora reached for a reed-thin necklace that looked like it was made from an abalone shell. She blew on it, but no sound came out that Lebadi could hear. His cousin dashed from the chair, leaping onto the upper edge of the vessel with her arms bowed to dive into the cold depths. Namor flew so fast that he caught Namora in mid-air before she even touched a curling whitecap. The wings on his ankles carried them high above the houseboat. Lebadi watched Namora struggle in Namor's powerful grip.
In the water, a blast of air from a blowhole caught her attention. An orca with a massive dorsal fin circled the houseboat as the Talokanil fought above it. Namor dropped Namora into the ocean with a loud splash and the orca swam to her.
"Namora!" Namor shouted down to her.
Namora threw one arm around the dorsal fin and pointed at her cousin with the other.
"Sáamal!" Namora shouted and the orca dove under a wave, allowing the sea to swallow them up.
A crack of thunder boomed, and bright swords of lightning clashed together, brightening up the sky, and transforming her lover into a deity lost to the world floating above her. Lebadi rubbed her arms as a fresh shower of rain poured down. Shaking her damp hair, she returned to the stateroom and changed into a warm robe. She used a towel to dry her tresses that clumped up into tight spongy curls. Namor met her in the small kitchenette and watched her make a fresh cup of ground Jabari Mountain coffee. She offered him some, but he turned her down, studying her face for a long time.
"Why did she come here? And why did she mention tomorrow?" Lebadi asked.
"She has seen me like this before."
"Like what?"
"In love."
Lebadi mixed sugar in with her coffee and sipped it with her back against the stove.
"So I'm not your first surface dweller girlfriend?"
"You are."
"Have you been married? Have children?"
"You never asked me things like that before."
"Because this has been a fun fantasy while we were alone. Someone knows about us now… and I realize we are really strangers. Fuck buddies."
Namor slid his hand around her neck and brought her lips to his, sliding his tongue out before they connected. He sucked on her probing tongue and did the same to her lips, forcing waves to tumble in her stomach. His kisses were always slow and demanding. The man knew her weakness with him. She pushed him back.
"I want to know more about you, Namor. Will we just hook up on the ocean every three months when you make time for me?"
"We are not what you say… fuck buddies."
"Answer my question. Have you ever been married?"
"I have."
"What happened?"
"She died."
"Did you have children with her?"
"I did. They died too."
"How?"
"They grew old and died."
Lebadi blinked her eyes a few times and tilted her head as if that made the understanding easier.
"What do you mean? How old were they?"
He moved away from her and lowered his head, contemplating his answer.
"Namor?" she said.
"My wife lived to be ninety-eight. My daughter eighty-one… and my son… seventy-nine."
"I don't understand, you… you're close to my age. How do you have children older than you?"
"Lebadi… I have lived for nearly five centuries."
Lebadi laughed and threw up her hands, turning away from the bullshit. A warm hand slid up her thin robe and held her shoulder. Namor turned her to face him.
"I am telling you the truth—"
"You told me you were a mutant. That explained the wings and your other abilities… but now you're an immortal?"
"How do you think I know your language and so many others? There was a time when your people were not so secretive."
His eyes challenged her to doubt him. She couldn't. He could fly. Breathe underwater. Had the strength of many men, and could summon creatures from the deep.
"My people named me after an ancient god. They believe I am the return of him and I have cared for them like they were my very own children. I have lived many lifetimes under the deepest parts of the sea and lost more than one family. Colonizers have brought pestilence to my people… stolen land… destroyed so much. They continue to do so, all over the world-"
"If you hate surface dwellers so much, why come to me? You could've left me alone after that first time we met."
"I could not forget you… could not keep you from my mind. Your people are like my own. They want nothing to do with the outside world, and that makes you different."
"What are saying? You want to live a lifetime with me, too?"
Lebadi held her breath inside her chest. She curled her hands between her breasts and Namor cuddled her in his arms, peppering her face with tiny kisses.
"Namora is angry because she doesn't want me to hurt anymore. She has been alive long enough to know my last wife and the pain it caused me to lose her. After my first wife passed, I stopped having children. I had two more wives after her, and I made a vow to take care of my people and never have a woman again. Until you. My love for you clouds my eyes every day that I am by your side," he said.
Lebadi's eyes welled up, and he kissed away the tears that dropped like rain onto her cheeks.
"You are worth the pain… teech k'abéet ti'teen—"
"I need you too, but this is so much to take in all at once," she said.
"Tell me you love me."
She pressed her forehead against his.
"In k'áatech," she whispered into his parted lips.
The edges of his mouth ticked up into a smile, and he spanked her backside, making it jiggle. He rubbed on her bottom, lifting and separating the round mounds in his hands, squeezing them to enjoy the softness.
"Take this off," he said, fingering the top of the robe.
She undid the belt, and he circled her waist, lifting her up on her toes, his warm naked body evaporating the rain from his skin as it absorbed her heat too.
"Namor, what happens tomorrow?" she said.
"Namora will come back."
"For what?"
He walked her backward on her toes toward the stateroom. She pressed down on her heels to stop him.
"I don't want to talk about that now. Let me love you, Lebadi… your skin is like honey in my mouth, I want to lick all over your body…"
He nuzzled the side of her neck where fleshy immortal lips sucked and kissed chills down her spine and into her toes.
"Let me love you," he said.
She gave in, as he knew she would.
Tumblr media
His morning loving was as good as his nighttime lust.
With her head down and her ass up in the air, he took her with long strokes from the back as she rested her head on a pillow at an angle where she could watch his face. His lips quirked up with tension and his right palm pressed down into her lower back. Her pussy squelched and became a gushy ride. Namor slapped her rump hard and used his right hand to palm her left ass cheek as he glared down at her throwing it back on him with frisky twists of her waist. He glanced at her face as if to question what right she had to have a pussy that good on his dick. She arched her back further, and he cursed at her with words that were too filthy for him to translate into Wakandan.
"Fuck me…" he panted.
"I know you like that," she grunted, shifting her hips and widening her thighs to let him sink deeper.
His fingers slid to her hips, and he gripped the supple flesh to anchor himself. He gave quick thrusts that just rested at the entrance of her pussy and she pouted, needing all of his thickness to make her feel full and stretched. Her toes lifted and teased the feathers on his ankles at the quill, which was highly sensitive to touch like the tips of his ears, stimulating another part of his erogenous zones that she liked to play with on his body.
"Fuck my pussy… s'good baby…," Lebadi moaned as she bit into the twisted, sweaty sheets.
Namor teased her entrance until she whimpered his name and he plunged into her, cumming while he did. He drenched her walls, then pulled his fat dick back out and ejaculated onto her ass and back before stretching her out again. His cum painted her walls with creamy warmth. He reached around and played with her clit, two of his fingers strumming a love language that only her stimulated nerves could translate. It was enough of a conversation to have her walls throb back with an answer. She squealed with pleasure and he laughed with obvious delight.
Afterward, they went for a swim.
The sky had cleared up enough to let a few rays of sunshine peek through. He dived below with fish netting and left her alone on the boat for an hour, returning with swordfish, shrimp, and mussels for them to enjoy at lunch. He cleaned and prepared the seafood. She seasoned and cooked it. They ate with their fingers and she showed him how to eat sticky yellow rice balls with a soft fermented flatbread that she made the day before. Namor liked the sour, porous texture of the bread, stuffing it down his throat with the fish tea she made from the swordfish.
Later in the afternoon, they moved the houseboat to another area when the water became choppy and unpleasant. Sleeping nude on lounge chairs, Namor watched her skin darken into a rich mahogany hue. He made her lay on top of him so he could run his hands all across her back and ass, fingering her pussy from behind until she came all over his hand with a sticky release.
Lebadi took a nap inside the stateroom for a few hours. She needed to recharge from a day of lovemaking and eating well. Waking up alone, she found several loose mothers of pearls wrapped in a large seaweed leaf fresh from deep sea oysters. Smelling the odor of good cooking, she rose naked and joined Namor in the kitchenette. He stirred a thin soup of clam meat that she liked for dinner. Holding up a spoon for her, she tasted it.
"Good… ooh, and hot," she said, waving her hand in front of her open mouth to cool the soup on her tongue.
The sun was low in the sky, announcing a gorgeous sunset that saturated the ocean backdrop with blazing red and deep mauve.
"Oh, shit!" she said, rushing back to the stateroom and changing into a short azure blue tunic over a bikini bottom. She dug into one of her travel bags soon after.
"What are you doing?" he asked.
She strode back into the kitchen, clutching a small sachet of her annual offering to Mama Wati. Bypassing the beach and surfing with friends again in Birnin S'Yan that year, she wanted to honor the mother of the sea with Namor by her side.
"Come," she enthused, tugging on his hand to follow her.
Lebadi prayed over the small bundle before untying it and dropping some of the mixture into the sea. She gave the rest to Namor, and he sprinkled it with amusement.
"This god brings you joy?" he asked.
"She does."
He touched her hair, which had shrunk up into tightly coiled spirals from the seawater. She twirled a thick lock of hair and stretched out its length, letting it bounce back into place.
"Children in Wakanda who are born with extra curly hair, like me, are said to be children of the sea. My grandmother was a child of the sea, and so was her grandmother before her. I come from a long line of Mama Wati babies!"
Namor leaned over and kissed her cheek, then held her face with both hands to kiss her longer. She was about to wrap her arms around the nape of his neck when the houseboat listed to one side, knocking them off balance. Namor flew with her a few feet above the deck to keep her from falling. The surge of water lifted the boat and brought it back down roughly, and from Namor's arms, Lebadi witnessed a pod of humpback whales breach the surface and rock the houseboat even more.
"K'uk'ulkan!"
Namora called to him as she pulled herself up onto the back of the closest whale. Namor put Lebadi back on the houseboat and two tall Talokanil men climbed onto the boat, giving her menacing looks. Namor barked orders to them and the men stopped moving, watching their god fly onto a whale to confront Namora. There was no reasoning with Namora and she leaped onto the boat and grabbed Lebadi by the throat, tossing her far over the side. The icy splash punched into Lebadi's back as the dark waters covered her face. She held her breath, watching the light from the surface fade from dark blue to rising ebony the deeper she went down. Flailing her arms, she tried to swim back to the surface, her lung capacity helped by her years of surfing and having giant waves crash over her before she could get more air. Her loose tunic floated above her, tangling her arms and covering her face. She pulled it off and pushed her arms to her sides, swiping away the weight of water crushing her.
Kicking her legs, Lebadi's ascent was thwarted by another Talokanil woman below her, who grabbed her ankle and dragged her further below. Seconds later, Namora was upon her, her hands choking the life out of Lebadi. Bubbles rose out of her mouth and she became woozy from the lack of oxygen in her lungs. She almost blacked out to the haunting, melodious sounds of whale song, until Namor fought off his cousin and the other woman to drag her away. Lebadi noticed a great number of his people holding spears and hugged up close to the whales, using them as living ships to travel on.
Tumblr media
Namor burst through a wave and flew Lebadi to the houseboat. The rage on his face frightened her and he screamed at his people. Most stood on top of the whales wearing the same breathing apparatus Namora had to use above the surface.
Namor pulled Lebadi behind him and faced his people. Rapid-fire conversations ricocheted around them as she tried to pick out any words that she knew from being with Namor. It was clear to her that the posse revered him even as they pressed to retrieve him, but his actions upset them. She upset them by claiming his heart.
Namora had a pleading quality to her voice, and it softened Namor. He kept glancing back at Lebadi, and the longer his people spoke to him, she could see his body language changing. His shoulders slumped, and a light went out of his eyes. The voices grew louder, more incessant, and Namor threw his head back as if the stars above them had all the answers he needed. Then… they started singing to him.
Even the whales emitted sounds that Lebadi could feel flowing across her skin above the surface. The haunting melodies of the Talokanil mixed with the vibrations of the sea creatures they rode upon brought Lebadi to her knees. She wept from the pure beauty of it.
Namor looked down at her with a torn expression. Namora climbed back onto the boat and held her hands before him like the wide maw of a shark about to attack. The others made the same hand symbol toward him.
"Líik'ik Talokan!" Namora said.
Namor closed his eyes and Lebadi felt a trembling soul shift inside of him. Namora nodded her head and the other Talokanil on the houseboat dropped back down into the water. Namor sauntered over to Namora and held her face. Only their eyes spoke in a secret language they knew. He stroked his thumb across Namora's forehead and slowly flew up into the sky alone, raising out his arms.
One by one, the whales and the sea dwellers departed.
Namor came back to her side, and she knew.
It was over.
His people came first and she would become a lost footnote to the seductive antics of a foreign god who wanted to fuck a Wakandan woman for fun.
She ran from him, hot tears spilling in fat drops onto her arms as she wailed and beat her fists on the berth. He tried to comfort her, but she thrashed her body to get his hands off of her.
"Get out!" she shouted, burying her wet face. Snot and copious tears clogged up her nose and throat.
He wouldn't leave her side and stroked her back.
"You said I was worth the pain!"
"They are my children."
"I am your woman! They can have you forever, but I only get this one lifetime, Namor! Just this one!"
He pushed back the springy curls on her forehead. His soulful eyes bled into her spirit and she covered her face to hide all the pain that soaked her heart. Namor spooned around her and she wilted. Crying and pleading meant nothing. His duty to his own came first. Always.
They slept curled into one another. By daybreak, he was gone.
Lebadi ate leftover shrimp and rice for breakfast and tossed all the uneaten food into the sea. She started the quiet engine of the houseboat and programmed it to take her back to the Wakandan coast, where she would leave it at the marina rental space she kept for the past two years. Leaving the seaside was the best thing for her sanity.
Returning inland for good would help her forget.
Tumblr media
Lebadi couldn't believe the message on her kimoyo beads.
Her former college roommate, Okoye, stared at her.
"Well, did you make it or not?" Okoye said.
Sitting inside an artsy café together, a table full of half-eaten shredded beef and coconut curried rice between them, Lebadi stared at the formal rejection of her application to the Dora Milaje corps.
"I was rejected," Lebadi said.
"Why?"
Okoye's voice went up an octave as she swiped the floating image of the document.
"I failed the physical apparently," Lebadi said.
"How? You seem fit to me… wait… what is that look for? Did you already know you would fail?"
"Not when I applied, but…"
"But what?"
Okoye nudged her wrist with her hand.
"Talk to me, Lebadi. We were supposed to tag-team in this thing."
"I know," Lebadi said. "I just failed. You'll have to become a Dora without me."
"Rhino shit! You always wanted this. We went to school purposely cultivating our education to prepare us. You did an internship in the palace for Bast's sake!"
Okoye lifted a finger to her lips.
"Call them and ask what happened. They have to give you specifics."
"No, they don't. I'm not qualified. I'll find something else to do."
"Like what?"
"I can be an executive assistant to a senator, or maybe a personal assistant to a Council Elder," Lebadi said.
Okoye's kimoyo beads glowed a neon blue.
"Dammit, I have to go. I'm picking up W'Kabi from his mother's house. His hovercraft was fixed at the shop finally."
"When is he going to buy proper transportation? He's had that hovercraft since he was in high school."
"You know how stubborn he is. He'll have that thing until he's an old man," Okoye joked.
She touched Lebadi's hand again.
"Do you want to go out for drinks later? Talk some more? I feel terrible about this news."
"No, go on and spend your evening with W'Kabi. I'll call you later if I find out anything more."
Lebadi didn't bother to stand up. She let Okoye bend over and kiss her temple before she dashed out to give the love of her life a ride to the bike shop. When Okoye was out of the café, Lebadi tapped her kimoyo again and swiped the second page of the form letter for the Dora Milaje corps. There was a listing of categories that could be checked off to explain why a candidate was rejected. The one that prevented her from becoming a Dora Milaje for that recruitment cycle was smack dab in the middle of the page.
Pregnancy.
Lebadi sighed and paid for the food by swiping her kimoyo beads over the dishes and stood up. The thick-layered skirt and jacket she had on barely concealed the baby bump sprouting from her middle. Four months along and she was already showing. Fatter in the face, too.
Walking alone in the downtown area of Birnin Zana, she turned her head to look over at the double palace. Okoye would get through Dora Milaje training easily. Her father was a lieutenant in the military and a decorated pilot. It didn't hurt that her mother was an interpreter for King T'Chaka Udaku either. The dream was for Okoye and Lebadi to protect royalty and travel with the king. She rubbed her belly and sighed. There were plans in place for her to live secluded in Birnin S'Yan and work discreetly as a monorail operator until the baby was born. No one knew she was carrying the seed of a foreigner, a mutant king who once said he loved her, but left her anyway. They had been careless with sex, and now she faced a daunting future.
What kind of child did he put inside of her?

There will be a part 3! I’m working on several fics at once so be ready! And once I fnally see “Wakanda Forever” y’all in trouble!!!
Reminder:  I switched up the spelling of the actual Mami Wata to Mama Wati to give myself space to reshape my ancestor’s actual African/African Diaspora spiritual water being into a fictional Wakandan one.

y'all make chicken scratch with Namor fanfics using Spanish, I know DAMN WELL in the past I've seen bitches make Loki fanfics using fucking all of Norse mythology and it's native tongue. In ajawo' and the Talokanil literally spoke Yucatec Maaya
The caucasian audacity of y'all culture-vultures I swear, sometimes gatekeeping is okay because we want our ancestors to be PROUD of us to defend what they died fighting for in my opinion.
POC writers and readers rise up. I must add as a Bruja and history nerd not every noble/royal of ancient Mexico was Heterosexual. There were literally twin gods of homosexuality (Xochipili and Xochiquetzal literally the god and goddess of prostitution and other aspects of life, the og WLW and MLM solidarity) there was I believe a space/sky deity that was a Muxe (genderfluid/bigender for religious purposes to honor the gods). I believe there's a even a tale of lady Micte the Aztec goddess of life and death falling in love with a female priestess.
Anyways you get the point. We must collectively remember that cisgender and Heteronormativitly was forced upon us by the invaders. Take a step back because honestly based on Namor’s geography and history, I'm 50% sure he has a harem I mean come on he's In ajawo' of Talokan.
REMINDER; Be respectful to Olmec, Izapa, Teotihuacan, Maya, Zapotec, Mixtec, Huastec, Purépecha, Totonac, Toltec, and Aztec when researching.

angst headcanons
Angst bug bite for some Namor angst headcanons and his s/o
Tags - angst, little itty bit of fluff at the end, some mentions of death
Tumblr media
If you are injured, he is on HIGH ALERT!!
Your safety is his first priority, and help the offender who dared to wound you because it’ll be the last time for them!!
If you were fatally injured, Namor is a complete wreck without you. Your last words are forever seared in his mind to the point of obsession.
There’s a memorial dedicated to you and all that he admired about you. But it’s not enough. Never will be.
Though he starts to be more short-tempered with the others of his leadership, they know why and if he allows it, try to work through the grief with him.
If you pull through your injuries, Namor never leaves your side. Sure he may chastise you about being so careless and reckless, but you know it’s from a place of caring.
Either sleeps by your side or constantly checks on you every second of the day. Healers are ordered to stay by your bed side
If not a mutant or Demi-god, the whole “immortal loves mortal” totally applies. It’s bittersweet but neither of you regrets it
If you are immortal and/or mutant, then it’s a true match made in the celestial heavens. Constantly praising the other and the safest you’ve felt in centuries is in his arms

Superstition Teaser
Tumblr media
(Chapter One Now Live HERE! Thank you <3)
They said women of her kind should never touch the sea before falling in love, that they’d lose their hearts to the waves. A forfeit to destiny or some such shit.
It was an old wives’ tale. A superstition.
But as the car careened towards the edge of the pier, rocketing over splintered wood without a hope of stopping before it hit the water, she kinda wondered if it was true. Just a little bit. The idea popped into her head like a bubble in a fountain drink, random association as her brain fizzled through shock. Pain. Panic.
A bullet caught the driver’s side window, and it exploded in a rain of glass. Flinching away with closed eyes, she instinctively threw an arm across the wheezing, blue-skinned child in the passenger seat. The wheel jerked with the motion, and the car went over the side of the pier.
Freefall stole her belly, her sense of time, her understanding of gravity.
She had a suspended moment of clarity to reflect on her life choices, on her chances of surviving all this. In summary: she was an idiot, she missed her brothers, and she would not be seeing this adventure to its end.
None of it mattered. She had to escape, and she wasn’t about to leave the little girl with her big, terrified eyes floating in the tank beside her cell. Fuck that. The car, the pursuit, and the bullets were probably inevitable, anyway. At least she’d get the kid back somewhere she could breathe.
One of them would make it out alive.
And she’d rather bleed out from the bullet she’d caught than end her days in that cage. Or under a curious surgeon’s knife.
Better to give the ocean her heart.
They hit the water, and all was pain again. Saltwater gushed through the broken window, and the waterline climbed up the windshield much faster than she’d anticipated. But the kid looked better already. Less blue where the water swallowed her legs and chest.
Unlocking the girl’s seatbelt, she grabbed her by the arm, dragged her across her lap, and started stuffing her out the window. Hopefully she wouldn’t cut herself on the glass, but she needed to be out of the vehicle and on her way out to sea before the men with guns left their cars and started spraying the water.
“Go. Go on.” The water lapped up to kiss her chin, and ominous bubbles billowed from under the hood. She only had a few more good breaths before the car went under. “Get out of here, go.”
The kid reached through the window, pulling her arm, like she could return the favor. Scrambling to unlock her own seatbelt, she shook her head, trying to push the girl away. “I’m fine! Go!”
But as she tried to work the seatbelt free, she realized with dawning horror that the button wasn’t working. The mechanism must’ve jammed in the crash. She was anchored to her seat, and it was sinking fast.
“Fuck.”
She tipped her head back, neck straining as the surface moved up, and up, and over her face. Salt burned her eyes, and she barely saw anything beyond vague shapes in the dark water. The only light came from the full moon, and that was dwindling fast as gravity pulled her deeper. She ran her hands over the console, along the side of her seat, and along the edge of the window, looking for a shard large enough to cut herself free. But the window had shattered into diamond-sized fragments. Nothing big enough to save her.
The pressure roared in her ears, the ache bad enough to draw tears – not that she or anyone else could recognize them in this salty hell.
By the time car settled on the seafloor, about a dozen yards below the surface, she could see a faint cloud of red leaking from her side, and her brother’s taunting voice rang in her memory. “Don’t go swimming with a papercut or the water will get in, and it will get infected, and you will die.”
Well. This was no papercut, and she probably wouldn’t live long enough to get an infection, but she probably would die.
Wouldn’t he be so pleased to have been right?
She wanted him. She wanted all of her brothers. If any of the bastards shook her awake and laughed at her for being a big baby crying in her sleep she’d hug them, thank them, and never run off alone again. Or. She’d at least try. She’d really, really try.
She’d do anything.
Danu.
She didn’t want to die alone.
Thrashing in her seat, pinned as the burn in her lungs turned into frantic spasms, she clawed at the safety belt poised to end her life. Her chest was on fire. Her head felt like it might explode. How long before she broke? Before she had to breathe anything at all, even water?
Little hands clamped around her wrist, tugging.
And the damn fish kid still hadn’t left.
Fucking fuck.
The child was trying to say something. Her voice carried through the water, but she didn’t recognize the language, and it wasn’t like she could answer. Bubbles crept out her nose and she gestured out, away, towards deep water where the kid could escape their pursuers.
Shadows interrupted the moonbeams dancing over the wreck.
Gunfire, muted by the water, just barely cut through the thump of her heartbeat in her ears.
Another good tug on the seatbelt. Nothing.
And then...
She didn’t mean to open her mouth.
But she did. And the last of her air rose to stick on the roof of the sunken car in uneven bubbles. Her diaphragm jerked, inviting the sea into her lungs. It didn’t feel like water. It coursed through her like lava, an alien pressure with the soothing touch of an electrical burn.
Every limb took on a life of its own, a last ditch animal reaction to scramble for oxygen. A slow-motion blur of terror and agony as her brain shut down.
The last thing she felt was the seat belt’s sudden release, weightlessness, and hands on her shoulders.
Hands much too large to be a child’s.
Don't worry, regulars, Hello, Mr. Monster is next on the docket.
If you all can wait, like, a week and a half, I will be spending a week on the ocean, will have lots of writing time, and ample motivation to spin this into a splendorous fic.
Let me know if this is something you'd like more of, and your Cuckoo will provide. Ta, dears!

MASTERLIST // CLICK HERE TO JOIN MY TAGLIST
A/N: Y'all thought I wouldn't immediately write a Namor fic as soon as I saw Wakanda Forever??? Anyways, this ended up being over 3k words lol enjoy! Also, I did my very best to translate from English to the Yucatec Maya language that Namor speaks. If I messed any translations up, please let me know! I will fix them asap if necessary.
Tumblr media
Summary: You meet Namor on the beach one evening, and what follows is a whirlwind friendship that quickly develops into more, but what happens when the real world comes crashing down around you?
(Warnings: minor character death (off page), angst, grief, mutual pining, flashbacks??, allusions of smut, but no actual smut)
Translations:
jats'uts lool – pretty flower
in ch'ujuk – my sweet
in yakunaj – my love
Rain pelted the windows of your apartment, and the increasingly loud rumble of thunder reminded you of him. It always did. Even the sound of the shower running sent you spiraling into your memories of him. He had completely and irrevocably taken hold of you, and even though it had been over a year since you’d seen him last, you couldn’t shake the grasp he had on you, on your heart.
You had always loved the water as a child; spent hours frolicking up and down the beach, playing a never-ending game of tag with the tide. As you got older, the games eventually evolved into hours of sitting in contemplation, watching the tide inch closer to you until it finally washed over your toes. By the time the brisk water found its way to you, you had figured out exactly what your next steps would be. There was never a problem you couldn’t solve by sitting near the waves, breathing with the sea.
//
The beach near your mother’s house is where you’d first met him. It was dusk, and a storm was brewing on the coast, so the beach was empty of tourists and surfers. It was just you and the waves, until it wasn’t.
You watched as the water began to behave strangely, gently crawling up the beach towards you in an unnatural fashion. The tide was still hours away from being at its full height, and you struggled to make sense of it. Your mother’s voice was screaming at you in your head, telling you to run away from the beach and never look back, but as you stood, the water enveloped your feet, caressing your skin with so much gentleness that you were rooted to the spot.
“Don’t be afraid, jats'uts lool.”
His voice echoed in your head, taking over your body and soothing every fear building inside of you. It was a kiss to each eyelid, a brush across your cheek, a comforting hug around your waist. It echoed safety and warmth, and you felt your anxiety wash away as he breached the surface ahead of you.
You took a step forward and faltered. His presence was God-like, but not scary, you decided. You could tell how much power he held just in the way he stepped onto the beach, covered in beautiful hand-carved makings. He stopped a few feet in front of you, watching you for any signs of fear, but you had none. Pure curiosity lit your face, and he couldn’t help but smile a little bit.
“Hello.” You breathed, unable to take your eyes off the ethereal being in front of you. He was strong, yes, and likely very powerful, but he was also beautiful. You couldn’t move, still rooted to the spot on the beach.
“Hello.” He responded. “I am K’uk’ulkan, but you may call me Namor, if it suits you.”
There was a gleam in his eyes, one that you couldn’t read, but you continued to stare in awe at him.
“Are you a God?” You asked, voice light and wispy. “My mother always warned me not to meddle with Gods, but you are not here to hurt me.”
His smile grew into a wide grin at your comment about your mother, but he didn’t laugh.
“I am a type of God, I suppose. I am not here to hurt you, but your mother is right, jats'uts lool. Meddling with the Gods is a foolish endeavor.”
He turned to the sea and sat down in the sand, patting the space next to him.
“Sit. I will tell you about my people, and you can decide if you want to continue playing with a God.”
His voice allowed room for disagreement – he was giving you the choice to sit with him or leave – but you lurched forward to sit with him, the decision already made.
“My people,” he started, searching the sea in front of you, “belong to the sea. As do I. We are a formidable presence, which is why we are still a secret from the world. Anyone who dares disturb my people learns rather quickly that we are not a force to be reckoned with. So, if I tell you this, jats'uts lool, you must not repeat it to anyone. Can you do that for me?”
“Yes.” You breathed. Your body had subconsciously leaned towards him, drawn in by his melodic voice. “Why are you trusting me with this, K’uk-,” you struggled to pronounce the name he had given you but tried anyways. He turned to you, smiling as you tried again to say his name.
“I have seen you here, sitting with the sea, many times before, even though you couldn’t see me. You are alone, jats'uts lool, sharing your secrets with the tide. That is why I trust you. Because you trust her.” He nodded towards the water.
He began his tale, describing his journey to you with overwhelming passion. When he spoke about his mother, his eyes hardened, but softened when he looked back at you. You sat with him for hours, in awe of his story and his people. When he finished, he gazed at you in question, watching as you processed the information he had shared with you. Day had fallen to night long ago, but the dark felt trustworthy, like everything being spoken would be held within it for the rest of eternity.
“This feels like a dream.” You finally said, shaking your head. “Am I dreaming?”
“This is no dream, jats'uts lool. But I must return to my people tonight.”
He stood, holding his hand out towards you. You rested your hand in his as he pulled you to your feet, refusing to let go, even though you were both balanced in the sand.
“Will you come back?” You asked, searching his gaze.
He brought his hand to your cheek, gently cupping your face. You leaned into his hold, breathing in the scent of salt and sea.
“I will come back if that is what you wish, jats'uts lool.”
“What does that mean?” You call after him as he makes his way back into the sea.
“I will tell you when I see you again.” He smiled as the sea washed over him, pulling him down into the dark depths of it and out of your sight. You watched the sea for a few minutes, trying to convince yourself that he wasn’t a figment of your imagination, and then finally turned and headed back to your mother’s house.
//
A loud clash of thunder brought you back into the present, in your apartment where you had lost yourself, yet again, in thoughts of him. It had been like this since that first night with him, and only got worse after every visit. Your heart panged with guilt over leaving the coast without saying goodbye to him, but you had to go, had to get away from the town that had taken everything from you, and he hadn’t come on the night you needed him most. The storm would leave eventually, but he would stay with you forever.
It had been almost a full year since you’d left your small coastal town, and you eyed your car keys as the desire to return overwhelmed you. It was only a few hours away, still close enough to be reached by car, but not so close that you would be reminded of your childhood at every hour of the day. Before you could convince yourself it was a bad idea, you grabbed your car keys and bolted out the door.
//
Namor visited again two weeks after the first night. You were sitting on the beach one night, later than you usually stayed, half-convinced that you had made him up, when the ocean began to stir. Your heart leaped into your throat as he made his way out of the water.
You met him halfway up the beach, enveloping him in your arms. The sudden reminder that he was a literal God, and that hugging him probably broke all kinds of rules, had you stiffening against him. The thought quickly washed away as he wrapped his arms around you, tightening your body against his. He was unexpectedly warm, even though the sea was cold, and your skin broke out in goose bumps where it touched his.
“You are real.” You mumbled into his skin.
He chuckled, leaning his head back to look at you.
“I am real, jats'uts lool.”
This is how every reunion went. You’d hug him, he’d swing you around in the sand, and you’d spend hours talking about everything. He told you about his home, a place you dreamed about. You told him about your childhood, how alone you had been for most of your life and how he was probably your only true friend, even though he was a literal God. He talked about bringing the sun to his people, and you were so overwhelmed with something in your heart that you had to remind yourself that God’s don’t love humans the way humans love Gods.
One night, he finally asked you what he’d been wondering about all along as you both sat in the sand, watching the tide make its way up the beach.
“Why do you spend so much time alone, jats'uts lool? You speak of your mother, but I never see her here with you.”
“I’m waiting for you, Namor.” You tried to brush his question off by flattering him, but he had never been stupid, and you sighed as he refused to let it go.
“No, even before you knew of my existence, you would spend many hours here. Don’t think I haven’t seen you crying. What bothers you, jats'uts lool?”
You couldn’t fight the tears welling up in your eyes. Namor waited patiently as you worked up the courage to respond.
“It’s my mom.” You finally murmured, roughly wiping the tears from your cheeks. “She’s sick, Namor, and I can’t do anything to stop it. The doctors say it’s terminal. All there is to do is wait, now, for the inevitable. She will die, and I will truly be alone.”
Namor watched you, carefully constructing his response. You couldn’t look at him as you tried and failed to stop the tears flowing down your face. He gently grasped your chin, tilting your head to look at him.
“I am sorry, in ch'ujuk, for your sorrow. I understand the grief of losing one’s mother. It never leaves you, and for that, I’m sorry. But you will never be alone, jats'uts lool. You will have me.”
He leaned in, planting two soft kisses on your eyelids and wiping away the tears from your cheeks. You couldn’t stop yourself from capturing his lips with your own. You didn’t think about the consequences, or how many rules you were definitely breaking by doing it. He didn’t seem to mind, though. He grasped your waist, roughly pulling your body towards his.
He laid back on the sand, pulling you on top of him as his tongue explored every inch of your mouth. You rested your knees on either side of his waist, grinding into him. His hands couldn’t figure out where to rest, running up and down your body, cupping your head, and squeezing your thighs as you grinded into him again.
The previous conversation finally caught up to his thoughts, and he gently pushed your body a few inches away from his. Your lust slowly warped into confusion at his abrupt stoppage.
“Not tonight, in ch'ujuk, when you are vulnerable and sad.” He closed his eyes, tightening his hold on your waist. “When I take you, I want it to be because you want it, not because you are sad and in need of comfort.”
“I’m not-,” the look he sent you buried any attempt of continuing what had transpired. Namor was right, and you couldn’t deny his assumption that you needed comfort more than anything.
You sighed, resting your head on his chest. He held you tightly as another round of tears engulfed you, racking your body with ugly and guttural sobs.
“It will all be okay, in ch'ujuk. You will always have me.” He murmured, running his hand over your hair in a soothing gesture.
When it was time to part ways, you walked him into the water, clutching his hand in yours. The tide, usually violent by this time of the night, was peaceful around you. It always was, nowadays. He cradled your face, kissing your nose lightly.
“I have something for you.” He murmured, gently grabbing your hand. He began to tie what was probably the most beautiful piece of jewelry you had ever seen around your wrist. “It was my mother's, and now it is yours. It is a beacon of strength and persistence. My people wouldn’t exist without it. Whenever you are feeling weak, let it guide you towards peace.”
A wave of emotions overwhelmed you, and you couldn’t breathe. The significance of him gifting you something so special to him was so incredibly generous that you couldn’t stop yourself from crashing your lips into his. He kissed you in sweet, unhurried motions, letting you push every emotion you were feeling onto him. He would take all the hurt away if he could. Carry it on his shoulders so that you could breathe easier. It wasn’t just a connection with you, it would always be something more, something galactic, something intangible but never missing from his being.
When he finally slid back into the water, you clutched the braceleted wrist to your chest and swore to never let go of it.
//
The sight of the sea after so long calmed your nerves, as it always did. You had parked in front of the house that had belonged to your mother for so many years and headed towards the beach where it had all started. The house belonged to you now, but you hadn’t stepped foot in it since the awful night that had sent you scurrying for dry land, far away from the world you’d grown comfortable in.
When you stepped onto the beach, your nerves resumed their anxious drumming. The last time you’d been here, you had been so angry at the world, so incredibly grief-stricken and so sad. Your mother had gotten pneumonia, a curse that had taken many sick people before her, but you were convinced she would pull through. When she didn’t, and you had to watch as EMT’s rolled her body out on a stretcher, you had stormed to the beach, intent on burning the world around you.
You had called to Namor, begging him to take you away from here. You prayed and cursed and screamed, pounding at the sand with your fists, but he didn’t come. You sat with the anger until it finally warped into an incredible sadness, swallowing you whole. When dawn finally cusped the horizon, and you had finally accepted that he wasn’t coming, you had turned from the beach, climbed into your car, and driven far away. You hadn’t come back, until now.
The storm had followed you back to the coast, where it was brewing something heavy in the skies above you. A light rain had drenched through your clothes on your walk from your house to the beach. It was dangerous to be so close to the water when the skies looked like this, but you didn’t care anymore. You needed to be with the sea, with him, even if he hated you for leaving.
You sat on the beach, watching as the rain grew heavier around you. The tide was violent and angry, whirling and crashing hard onto the sand in front of you. That’s fine. You shrugged. Let it be angry with you.
A stirring in the sea had you bolting to your feet, running towards the turbulent water. Namor stalked onto the beach, head swiveling back and forth until he saw you. You couldn’t help the sobs coming from your chest. You fell to your knees in front of him, clutching the bracelet you had never removed from your wrist to your chest.
“Namor.” You mumbled, voice strangled and weak. “Please forgive me.” You sobbed into your hands, dropping your head. You couldn’t look at him, but you would accept anything he gave you, even if it was anger.
You felt his presence before you felt his touch. He slowly wrapped his hands around your wrists, gently pulling your hands away from your face. He was kneeling in front of you, concern written on his face.
“In yakunaj, where have you been? The sea has been missing your presence for a year now. Why did you leave? Why did you go somewhere I couldn’t follow? Why did you hide from me?”
“Namor,” you breathed, voice breaking. “My mom. She-”
You couldn’t say it. You hadn’t been able to since that fateful night a year ago. But Namor knew, sympathetic expression dawning on his face as you spoke.
“Oh, my love.” He murmured, pulling you into his chest. You wound your arms around his neck, holding him tightly. You squeezed your eyes shut, relishing his warmth. “I am sorry you have been dealing with this alone. The sea called to me, told me you were hurt and angry, but I was far away, and by the time I got here, you had left. I’ve come every night since, but the sea no longer held your presence. I could not find you, in yakunaj.”
“I’m sorry.” You mumbled into his skin. “I’m sorry for leaving. I've hated myself since I left, but I couldn’t face what I’d left behind.”
“Do not apologize for your grief, in ch'ujuk. I am glad you are here. I am glad you are safe. I’m sorry I could not protect you from this.”
You pressed your lips against his, something you’d dreamt about doing every night since you’d left. After all this time apart, you finally felt like you could breathe again. He was here, and he didn’t hate you.
“In yakunaj, my people have been working on a way for me to bring you home with me, so we can rule the seas together. It could be your home, with me. Is that something you would want?”
You gasped at his proposal, mind whirring. “Do you mean it, Namor?” You murmured, searching his eyes for false promises.
“Of course, jats'uts lool. They took notice of my absences after we met, and I could not lie about falling in love with a human from the surface. Some were weary, understandably so, but the sea whispered to them about your gentle heart, and the sea does not lie. They have already begun constructing a throne for you.”
“Take me home, Namor. Your home.” You whispered, heart aching at the thought of Namor telling his people about you, at the thought of them accepting his love for you.
“I love you, in ch'ujuk.” He murmured, capturing your lips with his.
“I love you, my king.” You responded against his lips.
The surface world had never really felt like home to you. The sea had been your home long before Namor had stepped onto the beach that fateful evening so long ago, but now it beckoned you into its warmth. It called to you, and you would be a fool to ignore it. Yes, meddling with Gods was a foolish endeavor, but Namor was your home, and there wasn’t a chance in the world of you turning away from him now. You took a step into the water.
Home.

Hi if you're still taking request. Can I request a Namor x reader where reader and namor are married and reader is one of the people got turned to dust because of the snap and Namor just don't know what to do. 5 years later reader came back to him what would he's reaction be?
Thank you for the request
Summary: 5 years without you was worse than anything he had ever experienced.
ANGST
In ajawo - my king
In reina - my queen
in yakunaj - my love
in amado - my beloved
Aateni - help me
Tumblr media
It had happened so suddenly it took Namor a moment to realize that you were truly gone. You were together at the time. In the tent in the cave where he kept most of his paintings. The two of you had been laughing when your expression suddenly changed. You stumbled and he caught you.
"In yakunaj? What is it?" He asked as he guided you to a chair, worry etched into his brow. You had a faraway look in your eyes that made his stomach drop.
"In ajawo' something is happening," You stuttered and gripped his hands like your life depended on it. "Aateni' K'uk'ulkan."
His heart clenched at the call for help as he was at a loss on how to do just that. Then right before his eyes you crumbled into dust. He looked around himself like you would suddenly reappear. He tore up the room and the surrounding caves, calling your name. But when reality sank in, he broke. The howl that the king let out rang through all of Talokan as others in the underwater civilization also vanished.
The Talokan King ventured to the surface when he couldn't find any answers in the sea. What he found was the same suffering and loss. He learned of what the alien Thanos had done. Nothing would bring you back. Nothing would bring anyone back. Any hope he may have harbored was now turned to ashes.
For the first year, no one but Namora saw the king. He secluded himself and wallowed in his grief. Allowed himself to feel the anger and loss and guilt. Your last words, your plea for him to save you to help you rang in his ears. Though Namora told him there was nothing he could have done, that did not sooth his aching and yearning soul.
On the anniversary of what the surface dwellers called 'the blip', Namor showed himself to his people once more. He wore his ceremonial garb and they held an official funeral for all those who had been turned to dust. Enough time had passed and it was time to let go. At least that is what he told his people, but at night he held your clothes close to him and prayed for your return.
The King remained detached and always stoic. He no longer swam the streets of Talokan and greeted his people. Nor was he ever seen outside the palace or his caves. No one blamed him. They all knew how he loved his Queen and her loss was felt by all.
The grief and sadness held Namor in such a grasp that he did not smile until over four years had passed. As time passed he had chosen to make room in his heart for the love of his people again. A small child had bumped into him on one of his few ventures into the city to see his people. But the smallest of smiles had finally alighted upon his face at the fright on the boy's face and his repeated apologies. He had patted the young boy and eased him.
Namor was learning to live without you in the smallest ways. He had made a conscious effort to leave the palace and caves more often. To be a more active hand in ruling his people. Seeing them moving forward with life while honoring those who left were a balm for the ever aching parts of his heart. In time he allowed himself to see the surface and the sun again. He knew you would have wanted that.
~~~
Namor was sitting on a beach, listening for any changes in the world. He knew the war against Thanos was waging somewhere, he could feel it. The energy that suddenly rippled through the world sent a hope through him that he dared not take hold of. He ran full pelt across the beach and dove back into the sea.
When he resurfaced in his caves and made it to the tent he paused. His heart was racing and hope had truly sprung up inside of him. But if he pushed this curtain and you weren't there he would be undone.
"K'uk'ulkan?" Your soft voice came from inside the tent, hesitant and frightened. A second ago he had been at your side and now you were alone.
The King almost fell to his knees at the sound of your voice. A sound he had feared he would forget as years passed without you. He threw open the curtain and you turned to him. You were standing at the table looking worried. Before you could speak Namor took three long strides and pulled you into his arms in a an embrace that spoke of longing and so much love. A sob escaped his lips as his legs gave way.
You knelt with him and held him to you as he sobbed like a child into your neck. You gripped ahold of him, soothingly running your hands through his hair as you felt tears well in your own eyes at the sound of his anguish. Namor pulled away and took your face in his shaking hands and looked at you with tears staining his cheeks.
"In amado, in reina, you have returned to me," Namor choked out the words before kissing you fiercely. Although confused you knew that something terrible had happened between the moment you had felt like something was wrong and his sudden disappearance to the entrance of the tent. You kissed him back and then held his face in your own hands.
"In ajawo, K'uk'ulkan, my love, I am here. Whatever happened to cause you this pain, I am here to make it go away," You whispered to him as he nuzzled his cheek against your palm.
"You were gone from me. You and half of the world. We have been grieving your loss and so many others for five years. I do not want to live in that world again. In a world without you," Namor's voice was low and broken. He was trying to calm his gut wrenching sobs as he explained what had happened and why you had disappeared.
The King held you close as he recounted what he knew and that he suspected that Thanos had now been defeated. Your heart broke as he described the mourning and grief that he and Talokan had suffered through. You had lost five years in a moment but he had been alone that whole time. You kissed him again, lingering so he could truly feel that you were there. He clutched on to you as though you would slip through his fingers again if he let go.
"I will never leave you again, my love. I promise you," You looked around you and could see that time had indeed passed. The tent was not as organized as you liked it. The king's paints were haphazard and there were unclean brushes sitting in places they shouldn't. Then you noticed the new mural that to you had not been there a moment ago. It was you; a detailed and intricate portrait of you in your ceremonial dress.
"I painted this the first year you were gone. I would come here and talk to you, imagining you were listening. I had no hope that you would ever return," he pressed his forehead to your temple and you cupped his cheek as you took in the painting.
"Why did you wait for me? I would have understood if you moved on. Talokan is always in need of a queen," You asked him, looking into his dark eyes.
"There was no queen before you and there will be none after you. There is only you, in reina," He did not explain any further.
Tears leaked out of the corner of your eye at his devotion. You pulled him in for a longer more passionate kiss. Pouring all you had into showing him how much you loved him. It broke a dam in the king and he kissed you hungrily. Like a starving man needing air he was desperate for your touch. Namor hoisted you onto the table and continued kissing you as his hands ran up and down your body.
Then he paused for a moment and leaned back, taking in the sight of you with swollen lips, a flushed face and neck, and your eyes dark with desire and he smiled a full wide smile for the first time in 5 years.
...
Alrighty, I think that's good right?
