hi padi, dream anon here! last night i had a dream that i was in trouble and i had to ask our aqua papi namor for help and after i begged him he said “ask me with my name.” and i said “namor” and he said “no, ask me with my name.” and i said “k’kul’kan, please.” and then he said “you are one of mine now. of course i will protect you.” and he gave me the biggest hugs ever it was so good 🥹🤭
oh my gosh!!! i would do anything to be hugged by this man 🥺 what a lovely dream 😴 nonnie 😘
warnings: ddlg implied, reader is called itzia (princess)
You ran to the shore and blew on the shell Mr. Namor gave you.
You had spent more time with him since that first day playing on the beach. He let you be little or big and he was always patient. Only occasionally would his temper flare - usually when there were other "surface people" around. He told you fantastical stories about his home, his many names, and once took you for a ride high in the sky as the sun set.
"If you are ever in trouble, itzia, blow on this and I will be by your side faster than you think possible."
You never thought that day would come but it had been an awful day at work and you were drained. All you wanted was to be held. You knew it was bending the rules to use the shell since you assumed it was for very serious matters. Would he be angry with you for calling him? You felt hot tears gather in your eyes and you went to rub them away.
"Itzia?" You heard his voice and looked up. "Are you in danger?" His eyes surveyed the beach and the skyline beyond.
"No-not really I just- I'm just-" You sniffled, hugging yourself. "I need some help please Mr. Namor."
He clicked his tongue with dislike "ask me with my name."
"N-namor?" You tilted your head in confusion.
"No ask me with my true name, itzia." He coaxed you in his smooth deep voice.
"Ku'kul'kan- please..." You replied quickly, your voice raising in desperation.
"Good, itzia. What do you need?" His posture relaxed slightly, his worry seeping into his face. He was on alert when he saw how upset you were, ready to attack the person making you so upset. But there was no one near. This was a different kind of need and he felt a deep sense of satisfaction when he realized you had turned to him in your hour of need.
"I need-" you stuttered out before wiping away more tears.
"Do not fight your emotions, itzia." Ku'kul'kan cooed.
"I need a hug, pa-ku'kul'kan." You rushed into his arms, unable to hold yourself back when he was speaking to you so softly.
"Ah my little sea star..." He wrapped you close to his warm chest as soon as you hit his arms. Kissing your hair he sighed, "you can always call me."
You cried a bit more but it was less than you were expecting because the relief of being with someone who cared for you, who would do anything it took to protect you.
"Who has made my itzia cry?"
"N-no one." You struggle to explain "a lot of little th-things." You try to stay big.
"Name them and I will make them each regret ever wronging you."
"No, pa- I mean- ku'kul'kan." You giggled a little thinking of how you were mad that your car wouldn't start. "It's not all something that can be hurt."
"Oh you'd be surprised, itzia..." Ku'kul'kan leaned back so you could see the passion swirling in his eyes. "there is nothing I would not burn or kill or punish for hurting you, you are too sweet for the surface world."
"Just hold me, mkay?" You readjust your arms around his broad shoulders.
"Itzia..." He says after a moment, his voice breaking through the peaceful sound of waves crashing and gulls returning to their nests.
"Mm?"
"Is there something else you wish to call me?" He cups your cheeks in his warm hands looks at you knowingly.

attuma/okeye + shuri/namor + namora/riri demons & angels au!
okeye - as one of Heaven's top generals - is sent on a mission to capture one of hell's most calculating and vicious demon (who also happens to be a general) named attuma.
something is happening in the underworld, with more and more demons popping up in random places and shuri (the top angel/ (Michael ig since this is slightly supernatural based ngl)) is TIRED of it. she sends okeye to earth where attuma is rumoured to be.
and.....
okeye finds attuma with a bunch of kids hanging off of him LAUGHING.
okeye has no clue what's going on, but she instantly is on guard. she doesn't attack first - no that's dumb and a way to get yourself killed.
no, she waits until attuma spots her (who saw her the moment she appeared) and throws down a challenge.
"come with me peacefully or come with me unconscious"
attuma - who is one of the most vicious demons for a reason - is annoyed at this uppity angel who's interrupting his peaceful time. he thinks it's going to be nothing to kill her.
he is wrong and they both come out of that battle bruised with no clear winner. and that's when attuma falls in love.
Yada yada, more things happen, attuma keeps flirting with okeye and being respectful and good with kids (of all ages) yet never loses his intensity, he rocks her world, she rocks his, and shuri comes down from heaven because at this point she's going to have to kill attuma herself because something is scarily different with okeye and she's heard stories about attuma, and namor (Lucifer ig) comes up because shuri! is! here! and the whole demons popping up was him trying to court her because she hasn't been off of his mind since three thousand years ago when she could've killed him in a battle but gave him mercy.
and namora? namora hates angels, would kill anyone who tried to ruin her people, but that girl - the smart girl who hangs around attuma and laughs with - at - him like he couldn't kill her with a twitch of his finger - riri Williams who's all human but has amazing weapons because she was raised in the life but she's always been a little twisted. Oh, namora wants to kill her, wants riri's blood underneath her fingernails and then they fight and namora is being blasted with holy water and now she wants riri underneath her for other reasons.
..... Okay I'm done, who wants to write something like this?👀
(main MAIN couple is okeye/attuma tho)

I am SO very proud of my people.
Yeah, this is long but these thoughts hit me hard this morning and I gotta let it out.
Angela Bassett did it. When I first saw the throne room scene where she stripped Okoye of her titles, I knew she was giving us an award-winning performance. Some will see this end result of her claiming her Golden Globe as black excellence...and it is. But black excellence is displayed by the hard work and commitment that began 2+ years ago when a heartbroken cast and crew worked through the devastation of losing Chadwick. That is who my people are...we persevere. The excellence is in creators and artists who dig deep to build worlds that ring true on the screen. So that those communities who are starving for true representation can take pride in what they are consuming; instead of feeding us the same old caricatures that some think should satisfy the call for inclusion and representation.
I think about the brilliance of Ryan Coogler. How he puts in the work, how he listens, how he INCORPORATES the feedback he receives, how he is a true CO-LLAB-O-RA-TOR. He didn't create the Talokanil salute, others did. But some would have brushed it aside because it wasn't their idea. He listened when Tenoch told him he didn't look Mayan and took the time to incorporate Tenoch's heritage into his script (we need that extended cut, y'all!). And I think about how during the filming of this very production, Ryan was subjected to racial profiling when he attempted to withdraw money from his own bank account. Cops called out and handcuffed (don’t get me started). Still, they continued. Through a pandemic, they stayed on course. Through Letitia's injury, they plowed through. THAT IS BLACK EXCELLENCE AND THAT IS WHAT WE DO.
Movies like this hit different for POC... they just do. On some level, they go beyond entertainment for us. Someone who has not suffered the exhaustion of getting beat up by society just for existing may not understand. It is a fucking breath of fresh air to look up at the screen and see cultures that have been shit upon--and in some cases exterminated--presented with the utmost respect. We hold them high as banners of pride. We don't want to go to the movies only to get beat up again by images that only denegrate vs uplifting our people.
I love the MCU. I've been there since the first available screening of IRON MAN. Can't tell you how many midnight showings I've attended. I'd be lying if I said it didn't feel a little (ok, a lot) more special that the first major acting award for an MCU film was from the BLACK PANTHER franchise.
Wakanda Forever! Líik'ik Talokan!
