You know, thinking about it some more, by "Derision"'s own premise - Marinette should have absolutely hated (or at least distrusted) Adrien day one regardless of the Umbrella apology, because him being friends with Chloe would have been the major issue/deal breaker. The moment she hears he's Chloe's childhood friend, she would have been doing utmost to avoid him at every turn despite him being so nice to her (After all, Kim was nice to her too, and look what happened there) because all the apparent deepseated trauma Chloe's prank left her.

Also, by extension, the class would have distrusted him too (and Kim maybe)? This is a dude that's apparently besties with the girl who's been harassing them for years and made their beloved favorite classmate go through a super traumatizing event the year before. A good majority of Adrien's first few months at Francois Dupount should have been the miraclass all avoiding him and playing interference whenever he tried to interact with Marinette, with the only minor exceptions being Nino (Who is the goodest of boys and also wasn't in the same class as Mari and Co when it happened but really should know regardless considering Chloe videotaped it and put it online?), Alya (Who just transferred in and likely wouldn't know what's happening either), and Chloe+Sabrina (The former of whom is more than happy that the losers are keeping away from her precious Adrichou! More of him for her then!). (And maybe also Kim? He probably sees it as Adrien going through what he did after the prank and deciding to buddy up/help him out since "nobody here knows how to take a joke")

Meanwhile, Adrien would feel so confused and isolated because his class all just hates him for some reason and he has no clue what he might of did to make them all mad at him? And it just makes school feel like home except 100 times worst because at least he (thinks he) knows why his dad often ignores and avoids him. And speaking of, he can't go to him about the problem because he'll just use the class's actions as an excuse to lock him back up in the manor for homeschool because it just "proves" he was completely right about Adrien not being safe at public school, and Chloe's no good either because her "help" (i.e Calling daddy or the principal to take away a class privilege or get a trip/activity cancelled those mean losers made her precious Adrien sad - so fix it or else!) ends up just worsening the divide, so he's basically on his own except for Plagg (who sadly can't really intervene in a way that would actually solve the issue). It also ends up funneling into making his crush on Ladybug 220% more codependent because it's literally one of the very few relationships he has where he isn't being treated like a leaper, idol, or a nuisance...except it turns out she also hates Adrien - but that's fine, because Chat Noir hates Adrien too! Dude's just the worst, don't you think my lady? So everything fine because they can hate Adrien together and bond through that (self hatred and poor coping mechanisms go brrr~)!

Basically the first 2 and a half seasons should have played out like an "Enemies!AU" where Marinette and most of the Miraclass is convinced Adrien is Chloe's new vice chief bully and act accordingly as Adrien desperately tries (and fails) to make friends and figure out why everyone dislikes him so much, while the Ladynoir side has the two bonding over how much they hate that lame blonde modeling twink from the magazines.

...Ah crap, now I want to make an AU.

oof. there have been many versions of starscream over the years so i'm just gonna do the ones i think are the most major ones

G1:

probably the starscream i'm the least attached to. i think it's his design and the fact that i have no nostalgia for G1 (i only discovered G1's existence when i joined the TF fandom and i was literally not born yet when G1 was airing).

it's still fun watching him be a big toddler, tho. and i filled out the daddy issues box because he has the vibes of someone who has it.

Max : center — my first instinct for Max was wing but it’s hard not to compare him with either McDavid or Matthews, except he gets way more PIM than the two of them (less and less as time goes)

Checo : defense - this one writes itself, mister minestry of defense, def always has a place on PK1, will block a ton of shots just like my beloved EJ

Charles : center — I will take no criticism for that one, the bossy vibes from Jonny Toews (Jonny has been getting fucked by Chicago’s management for years, same as Charles with the Ferrari strategists) but Charles gets the Calder

Carlos : wing — you’ve seen this man play football, he’s crafty and talented, dishes assists but can also finish, thinking Pasta or Mitchy Marner or love of my life Mikko Rantanen

George : defense — I swear I’m not going to put every tall guy in D but listen : Cale Makar trajectory, quarterback of PP1, Calder and Norris and Conn Smythe trophy winner

Lewis : center — tell me Lewis is not the Sidney Crosby of F1, that’s it, that’s my full reasonning here

Esteban : center — two-way forward, good at both ends of the ice, I’ll give you Patrice Bergeron as reference (will also accept D as an option here)

Fernando : goalie — look, I know he’s small and would swim in his goalie pads but he’s sturdy and crazy enough to be a goalie, because he’s been here forever, Tukka Rask will be our point of reference

Lando : wing — talented winger who was overviewed in the first round of the draft because of his size but he proves everybody wrong with a 30+ goals season in his 3rd year, think Alex Debrincat

Daniel : wing — I struggled with Daniel because I think he could play any position but the idea of him on Max’s wing really appealed to me, would definitely pull moves in shootouts, let’s go TJ Oshie, he fits the vibes

Valterri : goalie — listen, I just vibe with the idea of it, think maybe Pekka Rinne, also Finnish, I will find Valterri a twink who will call him daddy, that’s not an issue (please tell me who do you think our Juuse Saros could be)

Zhou : wing — crafty winger, speedy with the funny moves, he would try the Michigan against everyone and you know it, a Trevor Zegras (in spirit, although Z did play wing too in the past)

Kevin : defense — steady sturdy d-man, gives me Duncan Keith in his prime

Mick : wing — look, I know Michael would be Gretzky but I bring to you : the Schumacher/Tkachuk comparison and Mick as Matthew, don’t tell me Mick in his villain era wouldn’t get hella PIM while scoring hella points

Pierre : center — Pierre screams forward to me and I’ll have him at center, the idea of him and Charles centering the first two lines of a team and being on the PP together is pretty to me, I think bitchy Pierre could challenge bitchy Geno but in terms of style he’s probably more of a Nico Hischier

Yuki : defense — Sam Girard, just imagine Yuki doing the tornade, yes, perfect, that’ll be it

Sebastian : center — I could see current Sebastian as a goalie but Red Bull/villain Seb was definitely a forward who would win the Art Ross/Hart/Ted Lindsay in one year and play on a broken ankle in the playoffs like one fellow countryman Leon Draisaitl (which means I also accept winger as a position)

Lance : wing — I do not know what to do with Lance so I put him at wing, maybe he can be like a 3rd liner or a 4th liner grinder, he gets Garnet Hathaway

Alex : defense — Alex/George d-pair!!! they would be so good, Heddy would never die his hair red but think of Alex as Victor Hedman kind of solid

Nicky : center — the fact that I struggled with the Canadians of the grid is terrible, sorry hockey, but he can grind with Lance, Nic Dowd it is

What are some of your favorite RPG characters you've made? I had a fighter who I played as the most anti violence fighter after he and his volunteer company got slaughtered in some brutal battle. Not even like he was a skilled fighter or renowned or anything, he simply survived and was disgusted with fighting after seeing lives used as political currency. But he spent most of his story trying to actually talk people out of fighting or doing so reluctantly. His arc ended with him going off to train with a group of Paladins because he finally found a cause worthy enough to die for and they were impressed by his moral resolve, I think the GM wanted me to incorporate the party into a larger adventure with the Paladins but tbh I thought it was a perfect end to that character for the time being and let him ride off and made a new one (medic/cleric who specializes in black ops interrogation because he knew exactly how to torture you the most effectively and considered it his responsibility because he could also fix you up, so it was an act of mercy if he interrogated you vs some clumsy sadist) but yeah.

Have you had characters where you let them go off and make new ones? Or do you prefer to keep your characters until they die/the story ends?

Both of those characters sound fun. Myself, I try to work it out so my own character's journey's end coincides with the end of the campaign, but if it's a very long one (or an open ended/sandbox deal) and I wanna shake things up and the current one's run his course, I try to give them a satisfying and appropriate ending. There are exceptions, of course. I had at least one character who was adventuring because he was seeking death in battle for glory's sake, and another who was a grim type seeking to fight the world's evils unto his death to fulfil an oath of penance.

As for noteworthy characters, my most recent lad was an elven desert raider. It was a more light-hearted campaign, in theory. What sticks out to me is that most of the other PC's were more cutesy, pithy types, the sort who have deep emotional storylines about their daddy issues or whatever, so I made my guy a veteran raider who, though constructed almost as a joke (his entire motivation was that he wanted a palace full of money and a harem of gnome twinks) took himself ridiculously seriously and did everything with the utmost dignity and gravitas. He was called "the Eagle of the Sands", on account of his astrological association with eagles and the eagle-feather cloak he war, and also because he called himself that all the time. "Hey, you wanna ride in the carriage with us?" "The Eagle Of The Sands does not dwell in a cage." "Hey, I'm not sure we should be in this creepy haunted city." "The Eagle Of The Sands is ruled by neither fear nor dead men." And so forth. Also, I don't claim to be an ultimate Pathfinder guru but I am autistic enough with numbers and assembling feats and magic items that most combats were the party trying to fire up their wacky pumpkin spells while my boy just rode up on his beloved camel, Nahb (Arabic for "loot", which says everything you need to know about his rider) and just became a walking double-shamshir blender.

Unfortunately, my involvement in that campaign got cut short by the whole war thing.

D - A pairing you wish you liked but just can’t.

i think. romantic ryu//ann. at leats as a pairing and not part of a polycule. i love their dynamic but it's very much not romantic in my head (partially bc i hc ann as a lesbian) so every time i see it in that context i go 😬 even tho it really is very cute and there's no actual problems with it or smth

L - Say something genuinely nice about a character who isn’t one of your faves.

ok. while yukari isn't really my cup of tea as a character. i do think she's written very well, def one of the most interesting female characters in the series, and even anything "annoying" about her is there for a specific purpose and it's very noticable too. also her relationship with mitsuru is important to me......

U - Three favorite characters from three different fandoms, and why they’re your favorites.

i’m ngl most of the reasoning is just “they’re exactly my type” but i’ll try to explain in other ways askjfkldhlghf

persona: naoto my beloved (my fav alongside goro bc if i start talking abt him it’ll jsut be “hhhghnghh look at him 🥺🥺”). i really love how smart they are, that’s honestly the reason why i always latch onto detective characters heh. like seeing them come to conclusions is very intriguing and fun and def made the whole mystery of the game still fun to go through even while knowing spoilers, bc their line of logic is easy to follow even if unexpected at certain times i genuinely love listening to them. also their voice is very soothing ajksdgh (in both english and japanese!!! @ anime’s dub don’t interact). and their inner conflict and shadow are so relatable but still like, not accurate enough to most people’s immediate real life to offer a safe sense of disconnect from it, if that makes sense. as in, it’s relatable, but not in a way that’s already painful to see. like their gender conflict is obvious but the age one hits very close to home and also their shadow being basically a mad scientist is very sexy imo. good for them. this is already getting so long i’m sorry i have a lot of feelings abt naoto

haikyuu (and i promise this one will be shorter aklsdljg): kita my beloved. he’s just such a soothing character, i really admire his approach to life and i think he’s a very good balance for his team, and he offers some sort of break to me in a very intense arc. plus his parallels to daichi in that arc are very sexy i love it. he’s just,,, a very respectful boy,,, who later turns into a very respectful and adorable man who is full of love and i really love that for him……

osomatsu-san: ichimatsu. i reached the situation i said might happen if i talked abt goro i’m sorry. he just makes me feel very happy aksjfdkhgfdg like it’s weird to say but he as a character really helped me get through a traumatic event in my life, and he was my first ever f/o before i even realized i’m self shipping with him so naturally he means a lot to me asfljkldgk. i also think he’s just a very relatable character and super adorable and his voice is so nice to listen to and also he’s quite literally a catboy c’mon can you blame me for thinking he’s the hottest shit ever…….

X - A trope which you are almost certain to love in any fandom.
