Hello again! I've actually written the down some of my "Jason and the Spraypaint 'Thief'" idea tho its mostly scaffolding and i dont feel ready to share it just yet, but progress is being made!

If I may ask for your advice once more, the story has begun leaning towards Anger Management vibes (thanks for that brainrot too (affectionate)), but i dont feel great that the genesis of Jason and Jazz meeting is after Jason basically stalks Jazz in his hunt for whoever is buying his spraypaint before he can. Like, she is the one buying the paint, but the dynamic feels too onesided atm in terms of agency, but idk what Jazz would be doing that could parallel Jason.

The best Ive got is she tried to find out who bought out the yarn she was knitting with (it was Jason being petty), but I dont think she'd care as much as Jason does with the paint and it also feels too samey.

...Just had this thought while writing this, would it vibe with Jazz's character if she kept tabs on the Batfam for Danny? Like in terms of location. Ive got it that Danny dosnt want anything to do with the Batfam atm, Gothem is their turf fighting-wise and he dosnt want to encroach on that (tho he does help people in need when he comes across them), he just wants to make cool art in weird places (and maybe some ghost king stuff, not sure on that just yet) (maybe as a coping mechanism bc I do like the angst that comes from 'Danny leaves Amity bc the Fentons reactly badly to him being a halfa', tho still not sure how he gets into spraypaint yet, that feels like an important detail), so Jazz keeps tabs on their patrols for Danny so he can spraypaint without drawing their attention, and then Jazz notices Red Hood acting a bit odd and does her own investigating to make sure its not ghost business (she would know that RH has ghost vibes from Danny and his current spraypaint investigating behaviour maybe looks like a ghost obsession without context), and maybe she ends up pulling a Tim and figures out Red Hood is Jason, just due to ghost vibes instead of acrobatics.

I havent even gotten to them actually meeting in my planning yey, its just discovery eachother from afar and general thoughts of 'thats the person Im looking for, they're kinda cute' so far. Current vauge idea is they meet in a fight, tho i might be biased bc i did recently reread 'cant help falling (in love with you)' (i think i said this before, but amazing story btw, eagerly waiting for the next chapter!)

I hope this makes sense. This is the first time I've had an idea I've wanted to share with other fandom people and felt comfy enough to do so.

I see Anger Management and go feral

I see what you mean about there being a power imbalance in their meeting situation - but we have to be aware that the source material is like that. Jason is a crime fighter and a vigilante and also a very extra boy. He is petty and arrogant and sometimes he is not above using his skills for personal use.

You can make it so she knows what's going on and leads him in a wild goose chase just for funsies. Make Jazz petty as well. Make her highly competent. Make her win in his own game and boom, no more power imbalance. (Also that can be a cool "I need to know more of this woman" kind of situation.)

Another alternative, is making her think he is stalking her for unsavory purposes and beat the shit out of him.

I like what you said about Jazz being the one that keep tabs on all the vigilantes. She could have profiled them all, studied their patterns, and Tim Drake her way into memorizing their patrol routes so Danny can paint in peace.

So that's why when her new stalker starts bothering her, she is so Done(tm) that she is not afraid to gatekeep, gaslight, girlboss her way into making him stop.

How she does it? Dealer's choice.

(I'm weak to the fight approach, if it wasn't obvious (✿◡‿◡) )

(But outsmarting him could work as well.)

(Jason is into women that can kick his ass, be it physically or in smarts)

So in conclusion I think if you want to not fall into icky power imbalances and not fall into highly competent Mary Sues tropes, the sweet spot would be Jazz making the choice to take act or not, and base it on actual conflict: If she can't just beat the shit out of him, explain why. If she is not going to make a deal out of it, explain why. Make the character have agency and a choice in the matter, even if that choice is inaction.

tbh i probably wouldn't have finished fire candy if i hadn't deduced early on the author was a woman (the plans to cover lesser known women writing typical type seinen/shonen is going. as terrible as you would expect) and in another post i did mention the mixed shoujo/seinen visuals but i guess i focused on like more flowery aesthetics bishonen and stuff. algo guess i ignored to mention that it is pretty much the statement of the author to produce series (or erotica, at any point anyway) that's appealing to both demographics, intentionally.

not that im gonna expound lots on details either though.. (it's stilla bible tho)

i ignored to mention (just forgot sorry) in the short review that in yellow hearts, SA is a verry recurrent thing/part/context of the sex scenes (that i have to define are with the erotic intent). now even then, i don't think [SA, 'age gaps', guys w freudian-esque issues, etc] in this case at least, represent a kind of deterrent for a female audience in intent (regardless of how i feel about it). first bc those are still Very Frecuent Things in erotica more clearly demographically divided aimed and written at women anyway, and second because topics aside the author, as mentioned above, uses the language and form of shoujosei to indicate in an transparent way to emphasize so.

the female characters even in the, yk, Situations... seem to preserve a preocupation with prettiness and the impression of pleasure in their designs/expressions. in net numbers, yes, they are usually/majority of the visual focus of the sexual scenes anyway since it's a seinen (audience implicit), but it's not like i can give you a definitive distinction between what about it is [meant to be in intent] the Object of interest or what has an Self-insert quality.

***the abovementioned preocupations w pretiness etc seem to very pointedly to work under the aesthetic proclivities of shoujosei. at a point it isn't so much about what men/women want but that These XYZ elements straight up don't customarily exist in shonen/seinen and those void bridged by the shoujosei proper also customary structures of the portrayal of intimacy are what evidence the interest of being of a pleasurable quality to read to a female audience, intentionally.

the paneling at points shifts completely to that of an shojosei romance's manga, the use of halftones, textures, neg and pos space, composition; of a tenderness (eh...) and an emotional interest of the parties that for as much shitty horny seinen ive read i dont find ever being as present, like at all (not that im precisely complimenting YH either...). of couse that's speaking of the ones that arent SA; theyre all pretty equally explict and intense regardless, in an customary-shoujosei unlikely fashion, though.

in the men's department.. well, on pretty literal terms the story is about idk yakuza gang conflict or smth, there will be rock bands and whores in between that i guess. from the very beginning there will be a balance to mantain between the main male characters being a more traditional dark but youthful type of masculinity for an seinen story while also obviously being yk. bishonen (most of the main ones at least). pretty easy to discern intent with those elements i think. it also extends to the sex scenes: vaguely speaking the author has a leniency to make them more, expressive? sentitive? something like that; make them have slightly/noticeably more presence in frames, that makes the thing a speck less onesided (well, it's less frequent the older/less bishie/more traditionally masculine the character is, not that that's surprising).

lastly.. hmm.. despite the author being kind of apparently of a bl writer on the side (tho YH is completely straight), male homoeroticism is mostly kept on the side (one char mentions it) or it's expressed thru more conventional male-on-male bloodlust and violence, though limited to the individual than in pro of indicating any particular relationship between the parts. however, i think that keeping the motions of homoerotic violence w no textual outlet for it makes some of the male characters' sexuality interesting so far it's just as confused as the mixed language of shoujosei and seinen of above.

for one, it makes violence, for the seinen audience, sexual but in a slightly more unusual and/or uncomfortable way, for the genre at least. both because of a female audience in mind and how [the male characters] can serve to them in a shoujo fashion but also taking into acc BL fashions, ends up making them as much of the

Saiouma was actualy my first OTP when I first finished V3, but as time has passed I've come to realize that there's actually not much chemestry going on, Shuichi seems more anoyed than anything (lacking the fun confrontation and back and forth that Ouma has with Momota) and Kokichi's really the only one putting in any interest and effort; I'll admit tho that their FTE and love hotel are pretty cute and actually enjoyable so I still kinda ship them but I like to see it as a mostly onesided crush that'll never move past that

The criminal x justice man is such and interesting and appealing concept, I just wish they could've had better chemistry together

And I'm about to go on an absolute rant here, but I'll never get people that compare Saiouma with Komahina, like, no???? It's fine if you do like both ships, and maybe I'm not seeing something, but as a Komahina lover I just can't see any parallels beyond "protag x rival"

Chapter 3 of SDR2:

Hajime when Nagito collapsed bc dispair desease: "omg Nagito are you okay?! Fuyuhiko help me get him to the hospital!"

An then Hajime a few days later keeps visiting Nagito and asking how he's doing, while wondering himself "you've done nothing but complicate things so why do I keep worrying abt you, I don't like having these unnesesary feelings"

Chapter 3 of V3:

When Shuichi found Kokichi collapsed on the floor being a bloody mess: "omg Kokichi are you-? oh, you're fine, doesn't matter that that's actual, real blood and that you injured your head quite severely, stop messing around; now then let me think of this clue that I found thanks to your accident while you wobble your way out"

Hajime in chapter 5's investigation:

"I can't believe you're actually gone, now that I think about it you've always helped me find the culprit during the trial, and I lament never getting to understand you, and here in your room I wonder what were you thinking? what were your intentions all along? guess now I'll never know..."

Shuichi not knowing who's dead under the press:

idk, like dragon ball z, literally the only reason vegeta/bulma happened was to explain trunks, their son from the future. you do have a cute filler episode trying to suggest how it did tho, in a more romantic way in a not-quite-romantic-but-almost-reaching way. (and also to break up yamcha/bulma...?)

and maybe bc dbz is so... haphazard and non-romantic, it works? like there’s no real romance in goku/chichi either, it happens bc goku promised chichi he’d marry her when they were both 10 and then, when they were 18? 19? chichi chases him down to make sure he upholds that promise. do i think they were in love, yeah i do, but i also think that the show... blatantly does not care if they were or weren’t.

gohan/videl was prolly the most romantic tho, and that i’m not sure how much was filler either.

krillin/18... happened offscreen, but 18 SCREAMING ‘i’ll see you later!!!’ in a tsundere way, which yamcha points out ‘hey? did you hear that? she’s gonna see you later -- she’ll see you AGAIN! she wouldn’t have said that if she was never going to see you again’. but krillin’s crush on 18 was cute, regardless if it was mostly onesided during the cell arc.

don’t quite get that with marvel. idk! maybe it’s just. 20 minute format feels different to movie formats, but still. i want... more, somehow.

- this does not take place in the same setting as canon.

-any older siblings, younger siblings, or family members, dont exist in this (so like, Xander Cameron and Brianna don't exist)

-everyone is a young adult

-it has a bit of a videogame theme. everyone has 3 lives, and revival is also possible but its an ability everyone wants to get their hands on so its basically a battle

-violence,, lots of violence

-Siren and Fin are terrorists/murderers; Cain is a manipulative spy/traitor; Tracy is a trickster who uses magic to fuck with everyone for her benifit; Marcus gave up, Ari is the "healer" (but she likes the chaos so..); Bonnie and Sebastian are still good but unlike Bonnie, Sebastian has to sometimes resort to violence for the sake of good; Vincent is captured and constantly used as bait lol; Cassandra is manipulated (by Cain mostly) into giving everyone false hope; Beatrice fucks with everyone by stealing, breaking, etc etc., she mostly goes for the important items (meanwhile Tracy targets importaint info/their minds)

idk idk ill change and/or add more to that- i dont have this stuff typed or thought out bc i never focused on giving the au a solid structure. thats why i never talked about it

a few of the events ig

- Bonnie gave up on the small "village" she started. it was supposed to be peaceful but instead it caused fights and chaos, so after making sure everyone is out and safe (she lured them out), she burned it all to put an end to it. unfortunately tho, the chaos never ended

- Siren was wanted now (just like Fin, and he and Fin don't care either) and Skip became something that they can use as leverage. He might be heartless but he couldn't bare the thought of Skip being tortured as a way of someone getting revenge on him. He killed her himself, giving her a painless death. Ghosts exist for pets, and Ghost Skip doesn't remember Siren, but she tends to follow him everywhere. (she cant be hurt or touched because, shes a ghost lol) Siren doesn't interact with her- (she doesn't mind, she doesn't make sounds either, she just follows, stays close, and observers) -but deep down, he enjoys her company.

-Siren lured everyone somewhere and blew them all up, making it "rain blood" and, like he wanted, making everyone loose 1 out of their 3 lives. (he had a motiv ofc)

- Fin lost his second life by saving Siren; so to return the favor, Siren lost his last life saving Fin (crossbow, a wooden arrow was shot and got him right in the heart). Siren lost his three lives, and actually died.

-Fin lost his last life trying to get revenge. Siren and Fin were dead together until, they were needed alive again, and once they got revived, more chaos✨ (there's even chaos without them alive, so-)

Siren and Fin's relationship:

These two are extremely toxic in this au, but its not onesided. Fin shoots Siren with wooden bullets whenever hes pissed off or even just bored, and Siren feeds off of Fin whenever hes hungry, or just fucks Fin whenever he feels like it (which Fin allows him to do- more like Fin likes it actually, masochistic horny fuck💀) While they do this too eachother, it doesn't bother them at all. They still love eachother, and since they're masochistic and sadistic, the toxicity of their relationship doesn't bother them because they just dont care. They enjoy the violent relationship. They're really fucked up, but then again, almost everyone in this au is-

Holy crap I haven’t posted anything in since July 2020 :O

Anyways my tumblr account is quite on hiatus alot nowadays since I spend most of my time on instagram D: I should spend more time here aswell but I’m kinda slowly drifting away for some weird reason. ._. and work eats up alot of my sparetime.

In general it feels like I’m less and less lurking around on different websites and just focusing more on my job, physical and mental health + sustainable enviroment friendly lifestyle, close friends and personal plans.

I’m sorry if I’m absent alot nowadays here... I’m just focusing alot on my wellbeing and physical health and environment. Also trying to eat more plantbased...^^ Lately I’ve been interesting in collecting some indie artbooks by original independent artists and old nostalgic books. I do plan on buying more manga books in the future :D

I’m trying to make the most of my projects and revive some old hobbies(drawing/painting). I’m planning on starting an art insta account soon... I just wanna find a suitable insta name for my account before I officially publish anything. I have some ongoing knitting/crocheting projects as late xmas gifts for my parents so my main plan is to finish them in January.

For work I’ll be quitting work here and returning to my homevillage there to work in February, so I’m kinda sad that I can’t be in the town where most of my friends are living in (for now but I will be visiting V-town alot whenever I’m having a free 2 day break or so) ...

I really like living in that town but the workplace I’m at atm is not suitable or interesting enough for me to continue. I feel more and more tired when I work there (bcus of bad air, early mornings, onesided tasks + sometimes bad sleeping habit).

Even though the boss, colleagues are nice and friendly I just doesn’t feel free. I feel trapped/ or stuck if I have to sit all day in a room take blood and talk to patients. The worst is probably the timetable there which sometimes is super stressful. Also kids who scream and cry is just not suitable for me who has ADD...Especially in the morning, it’s always many patients reserved and when a problem occurs witth either the phlebotomy or blood draw and leads to longer that the time reserved for the patient you could very fuck up and easily get late with the timatable for each patients time reservation.

The timetables are so tight I’m not having anytime for a morning break. So I usually just skip it and work until lunch break.. But I will still have my appartment there. I’m not moving back my stuff to my parents bcuz I know this is just a temporary stay for maybe like a year at maximum. I don’t mind moving back to my home village tho. It’s quite peaceful and nice but I’m afraid I’ll just be very lonely there.

As soon as I get my covid vaccine I’ll be planning to do some big dream travel ...maybe in autumn. Ultimate Number one bucket list is Japan. Second is Iceland and Anime Expo and Comic Con in San Diego...thats where my money savings will mostly go for the upcoming years. :D

I will also be planning on working abroad sometimes in the future but not at least this year.

trivia:

he really likes white cholate & hot chocolate, often eating handfuls of white chocolate baking discs regardless of the time of day.

visual art major --- tends to stray towards sculptures and installation pieces, though he does have a love for bob ross style landscape pieces. draws a lot of inspiration from older art, and many of his pieces are designed to look worn-out and as though they are missing pieces.

perpetually exhausted --- for all his love of schedules, he has never managed to consistently get enough sleep and though he loves tea, that never seems to have enough of an impact to truly wake him up ---- a.k.a he is a yawn prone little fuck

doesn’t quite believe the local legends, though he doesn’t dismiss them outright either. the statue by wishing tree has, however, made it into several of his works ---- statues seem to have her facial features without him ever meaning to and he will swear to anyone that asks that in sophomore year of his bachelor’s degree he woke up one morning to her face staring at him from amongst the trees on a painting he had been working on. he will hesitantly add that it’s possible that he had just been thinking of her while half asleep, though ethan doesn’t really believe that

currently working as a TA for some of the freshman art classes, as well as overseeing the use of the different art studios from time to time.

doesn’t believe in labels --- and that’s corny as hell, but he just wants to be able to be whoever he is in the moment and has had some harsher reactions when he uses umbrella terms, so he just refuses to label himself. relationship-wise it’s a whole different issue, he floats from one major relationship to another and often times will cycle back to one that’s already gone sour.

has recently started going to a therapist to talk about some of the issues he has processing emotions and his fear of change ---- it’s been helping but he’s still very much on the verge of flight mode and will run away from situations that demand any real sort of emotional input from him on occasion.

personality:

he is cynical, despite a desire to believe the best in people and the world - he has seen too much of the darker side of the world to ever truly believe it ---- this is reflected not only in his interactions with people ( he is open about expressing doubt and disbelief, he won’t believe a word you say, and he overanalyzes promises / invitations / declarations of love ) but also in his art and aesthetic which veers towards the dark and damned, a lot of his work is themed around broken things

stubborn as a mule ---- once he gets an idea in his mind, it can be hard to change his mind with logical arguments though an emotional appeal will have a better chance ---- he’s very set in his ways and struggles with questioning why things are the way they are, insisting that somethings should just be. loathes change and isn’t afraid to express this dislike --- tends to eat the same foods, wear the same clothes, go to the same places ---- despite a childhood dislike of routine, he finds it comforting nowadays, it feels safe.

loyal as all hell, you can hurt him a million times and he will still struggle to walk away and a genuine apology will win him back in an instant. he struggles to cut ties, even with those that he knows aren’t the best for him and has only successfully done so when it is possible for him to do so in a swift and permanent way. in most cases, he will eventually find his way back to those that he knows.

friendly but not overly so --- he has no issue approaching people if he needs something, but he’s not generally one to approach you just to “chat” b/c he’s not big on small talk in general and honestly? he’d never say it but if he doesn’t know you, he doesn’t really give a damn how your day went or how you feel about the weather or current events. if he drinks, he becomes a little more sociable in that matter, but that often drifts into “ethan is going to info-dump about whatever has his interest in the moment and the only way to stop him is to like physically place something in / on his mouth” territory which is a whole different level of awkward.

backstory:

growing up in a household where routine took priority, ethan spent a long time feel stifled by his parent’s demands that everything turned out perfectly ---- the neverending need to do things at just the right time, in just the right way. it was like fitting into a sweater that was just a tad too small, wrong in a way that is hard to explain

it’s in high school that he meets a true kindred spirit in the form of his art teacher ---- he helps ethan to realize his need for freedom and self-expression, and embraces his abilities in a way that he had always been afraid to. it’s a change that his parents are disapproving of, trying to reroute their son’s future to one of the paths that they would have approved of. but for once, he allows himself to rebel.

and after graduation, he leaves. running to new york, where he throws himself into the art scene head first without any real plans. for two years, he works multiple jobs as he cycles through sketchy roommates in his shitty apartment and equally shitty life partners, trying to discover things about himself that he hadn’t known before.

he’s still figuring some of that out, unsure of how to label his gender or his sexuality --- wishing more than anything that he could just be, a desire that he has long held onto since childhood that’s coming back to haunt them at last.

that’s not the only thing that’s caught up with them as of late, the digby’s finally managing to track him down in new york and showing up at his apartment two years after he initially ran off. they came with open minds and a burning desire to see their son do something other than work minimum wage jobs and live in run-down apartments. they were quiet and subdued in a way that they never had been.

it took six months for them to convince him to enroll in college, and he eventually chose to attend radcliffe with an undeclared major. it was far enough from his hometown that his parents couldn’t reasonably drive up too often, but close enough that he could go home if he had wanted. a three-hour drive in the best traffic.

the distance proved to be the right amount --- though his parents certainly seemed to pop up over the first three months with containers of food and worries that their child would have run off, they eventually learned to trust him. and slowly, the wounds healed ---- ethan wouldn’t say that they’re close but they’ve learned to respect each other’s boundaries.

and he’s never seen them more proud than at graduation, except maybe when he told them that he was going to apply to grad school. it wasn’t the path that they had planned for ethan, but they had learned to be enthusiastic about his success, about his dreams and about his art.

doing his master’s degree - it’s been weird. being here is weird for him in general, he still misses new york even though it was a whole different kind of existence ---- he misses the stability of going to work everyday and being completely independent. here, he has to rely on his professors and classmates, he has people that expect him to check in with them and there’s more socialization --- mostly because he’s been trying to do better with that.

connections:

good / bad influence: okay so traditionally, i think these would be separate connections but i think in this case, it’s more convoluted than that. for all of ethan running away from the environment his parents made, he’s very much stuck to those rules and expectations --- i would love for someone to start to break him out of that --- encourage him to party and drink and live life, and it doesn’t all have to be bad, it can be good too. you know, them bringing him to parties and him learning actually valuable lessons from it --- idk open to talking about their potential influence on each other, i think it could be fun

OK OK so i headcanon sam puckett as bi, carly as straight mostly, and freddie as probably pan tbh

i like the idea of in middle school and highschool both sam and freddie crushing on carly like wicked hard, freddie was super annoying about it for a while while sam had accepted, my friends super straight and i love her so much and im not being a dick about it so why the fuck is benson coming out of nowhere and making her uncomf

and thats a big part of why i think sam is so aggressive to freddie at first is cause, he comes on so strong and is so obvious about loving carly and he gets to the point where he make her uncomfortable

by end of season 2 early season 3 hes calmed down a LOT and hes more friends with carly than trying to date her and especially after he events of ikiss i think him and sam would be better friends. i see them talking bout carly together and finally sam had an outlet for this big thing shes kept to herself for so long

so i kinda see them developing a really good friendship especially since freddie and sam are very personable people in that they dont function well on their own and are both very dependent on carly.

carly though is very independent and even tho i did not like the direction icarly went in near the end i DO see carly traveling abroad for college. she would so thrive going to england or paris or somehwhere far away and foreign for school she would loVE IT

i think freddie and sam would stay nearby, for reasons im too lazy to go into rn but i think sam would visit freddie a shit ton, expecially with carly being gone

and i feel like her and freddie would smoke weed together and talk about her mom and his classes and just be casual and friends and it would be really good and he matches her level of salt and she helps him let loose and

i see something more eventually developing that way. not the way the actual show did it. like this. this slow build of trust and friendship and learning more about under the surface of each other and it could have been so good

im sloooooowly getting into voltron and for once have managed to avoid spoilers p. well!!

good luck making sense of this ramble lol

i’m just about to start the episode after the one where they’re having the party and a dude clones the bomb thing.

so far pidge is my fave like from the first episode you know there’s something up with this kid and i’m also intrigued by the missing dad and brother like clearly shiro’s family and pidge’s family knew each other pretty well for them all to get on the same mission together and for shiro to be so protective suggests to me that pidge and shiro also knew each other for a long time before the series and his disappearance. like i know from fandom osmosis and just watching the show that shiro is official team dad but i’m wondering if he’s more like uncle shiro to pidge. correct me if i’m wrong tho.

although hunk is pretty #relatable. kinda sucks that he’s spent most of these first episodes being the comic relief guy - so far his most interesting moment is when he’s honest with allura about not wanting to be here. i hope his ‘moment’ episode will be good, he’s kinda out of focus compared to the others like i’d love to see more of what made him perfect for his lion.

speaking of allura she’s p. cool so far. i hope the ‘thing that’s happening!’ dialogue stops soon like it feels like she’s being used as an in-universe narrator sometimes. her speeches in the training montage were v. interesting as well like she knows what Must Be Done so why aren’t my warriors doing what Must Be Done and she’s def. trying to portray herself as a strong and capable leader but she also throws food at them and tries to get pidge to gossip with her and it’s adorable.

corna’s moment with lance was p much the most interesting thing he’s said so far but it mostly feels like he’s there for ‘we do human thing X with Y! only it’s much more Z!’ alien jokes. that said he’s not irritating at least so he’s fine.

re keith i’d like to see how he knows shiro so well, he def. respects him. so far my favorite keith moment was him saying I’M BONDING WITH YOU to the red lion so i’m wondering if he walked up to shiro and said the same thing like I AM RESPECTING YOU. i don’t really know much about him beyond being a drop out and knowing shiro somehow and that cabin but judging by how upset he was at pidge leaving it can’t be good.

it’s weird that lance’s piloting skills keep getting dunked on bc he’s actually pretty good?? like he flies that lion like it’s nothing! like they say ‘cargo pilot’ like that’s an insult and that he crashes in all the simulations but like we only see one and that’s a cascade of failures that break his focus and that really aren’t related to how well he can steer. at worst he seems overconfident? but like his technical skills are still pretty good to me? Let Him Fly.

on that note i’m wary of the klance train so far since i tend to be super suspicious of the ships everyone insists are canon (and usually end up disliking them if pride/rival, puzzle, blue and polar are any indication lol) and it seems like a space version of naruto and sasuke. otoh it seems like they’re waaaay healthier than naruto and sasuke could even dream of. i mean i really like the “i say ‘vol’ you say ‘tron’!’” “... voltron?” “we’ll work on it” bit. like lance is trying to be social and keith is trying. like i could see these two actually getting along with time bc so far it’s like...

it’s not really /hatred/ it’s like lance is kinda... disappointed by keith? like when he does dunk on him it’s usually related to him being a drop out and it’s like my dude how tall was that pedestal you had him on before it got knocked down and are you gonna let him step away from the rubble anytime soon? i’d also like to see some positive/more-interesting-than-squabbles interaction from keith towards lance before i jump on this train though, so far it’s been pretty onesided. a few scattered compliments in the heat of battle don’t generally make me interested in a ship. (of course i’m a fucking death/euroshipper so really who knows what makes me like/dislike a ship lmao)

like lance kinda poured his heart out to coran about missing his home planet and his family and he’s only known him a day so we know he’s good at empathizing with people and he’s not really someone who hides his emotions or feels reserved about expressing them. so far the only times we’ve seen keith get emotional about on a personal level are related to shiro and his distress at pidge leaving.

finally there’s this one galran dude i’m suspicious of. i can’t remember his name but his face instantly struck me as super human looking, like way more than the other galrans, and there was more emotional range to his facial expressions than you’d expect from an underling of the day. i’m wondering if he’s gonna pull a peridot or maybe a zuko.

idk like i’m what, four episodes in? i’m probably going to be wrong on all of these hahahha.

lets see, i think not so much a full scene, but one of my favorite moments is when Yuuto asks Keagan why Keagan let him in if Keagan doesn't recognize him. and keagan just has the best expression while saying he wonders himself. it was such a great insert of comedy in that moment that i couldnt help but laugh. i also think it was kind of a great showcase for keagan's personality as well

I also agree I like that ryo is only seen through Keegan’s eyes right now. Solely focusing on Keegan’s perspective leaves ryo on a pedestal currently. I have a feeling we’re going to learn more about ryo later, but it’s smart to start us off through Kaegan’s eyes

i like how with the whole mood shift that ryo was super accurate in that he was spoiling the mood. i particularly loved when yuuto caught up to ryo cause at that point just the sheer imagery and what was going on made me feel that the situation was truly dangerous

Yuuto's attitude in general is pretty fun in my mind (okay if I play games?) but it definitely took a turn with the reactions towards the end. I think he didn't do his research on Keagan.

I think it’s an interesting thought that kaegan’s attachment to Ryo is a little selfish. It seems as though it’s literally tethering Ryo’s ghost from moving on and putting his spirit (and others?) in danger, as well as ruining kaegan’s own relationships and life. Kaegan does seem quite overly obsessed(edited)

QUESTION 2. While it’s clear that Keagan and Ryo had past history, a lot is left to question. How do you believe Keagan and Ryo met, especially considering their age difference? Why do you think Keagan crushed so hard on Ryo despite the age difference between them? Do you think the attachment to Ryo was born purely out of affection, or do you think there’s more to Keagan’s past that explains the attachment? Do you think the way Ryo died has something to do with why Keagan can’t move forward? Or is it something in general perhaps about Keagan’s past history with Ryo? Lastly, why do you think Keagan remembers Ryo so well but seems completely clueless about Yuuto?

It's not improbable they (kaegan and yuuto) were friends first, and Kaegan just crushed real bad on the older brother, which would also make sense why it was so one-sided but they would also be hanging out (as he was probably hanging out with/chaperoning his little brother, and consequently his little brother's friends as well)(edited)

QUESTION 3. The entire plot of the comic is essentially based around one question: will Keagan be able to move on from Ryo? What do you think is holding Keagan back exactly? Is it fear of the future without Ryo, true love, or some sort of inner demon? Do you think Keagan is sincere when he says he has tried to move on, or do you suspect self-sabotage? Even if Keagan gets over Ryo, do you think Ryo will successfully be able to move on? How do you even think Keagan might get over Ryo? Also, what do you think Yuuto and/or Suzy’s role if any might be in helping him move forward? Finally, do you have any theories in general for future events of the comic?

I feel like it's one of those things where after you move on, you're worried you'll forget details... which is true enough. But Keagan's got himself so tied up in it that he might forget things about himself. I don't know that it's anything external.

Also, I think Keagan might have tried to move on in the past, but after it didn't work a couple times he just goes through the motions now to appease others around him.

Not just memories of Ryo, but memories of how happy he was back then. Maybe the happiest he'd ever been?

spirit insurance. if only yuuto had come to him sooner, yuuto couldve gotten ryo's spirit state ensured. yuuto is gonna miss out on that sweat afterlife policy money now

in regards to keagan's sincerity in trying to move on, i actually think it was subconscious self-sabotage. so in that he was doing everything he was told mentally and physically, but there was that small tiny part of his brain continually whispering how nothing would ever be right again without ryo

There probably was some self-sabotage, or at least Ryo seemed keen on calling him on that.

Maybe Yuuto was guided to find the stone by Ryo...? Wait, no, because Ryo didn't even think it would work. We're not sure what any of their day jobs are, are we?

well yuuto said he was a spirit medium. albeit doesnt mean thats a career technically speaking. idk if being a spirit medium can pay these days without people staring and accusing you of being a fraud. or ya know if you get a reality tv show.

cleary the entire comic is just a tv show hoax so yuuto can become the most prolific spirit medium on tv

but considering the cover to chapter 1, i will say that its not just keagan holding ryo back. cause ryo is clearly chained to both yuuto and keagan and i dont think yuuto has quite moved on himself.

Oh, that's an interesting point with the visual. Does the chaining work both ways, I wonder, or is it a matter of Yuuto's moved on but is still linked to Ryo out of necessity?

As far as the future of the comic goes, I figure we'll see the results of a spirit being darkened somehow, either directly or in the history books or something.

in the sense that yuuto will tell him, keagan will be like "suuuure"

idk about seeing other spirits but maybe? i do think ryo has some idea about whats happening to him tho. cause i get the impression that its not so much the spirit ceases to be themselves as it is that they become engulfed in their own emotional vengence and can think of nothing else

Do you believe Yuuto’s motivations are purely to protect his brother’s spirit, or do you think he might be up to something else? How do you think Yuuto wound up becoming a spirit medium? Was it family tradition, a career choice for Yuuto to connect with spirits (and his brother by extension), or was it happenstance? Considering it’s been 16 years, why do you think Yuuto waited so long to come to Keagan? Did Ryo’s spirit only come to Yuuto’s attention recently, or did Yuuto feel no need to take action until Ryo was becoming a vengeful spirit? Additionally, why do you think Ryo has been stable as a spirit over all those years and is only now coming undone? What consequences would there be if Ryo became a vengeful spirit at the end?

could be. it actually would also depend how mindful of vengful spirit is. cause if theyre driven by pure emotion than they might not be consciously able to target their hurt and just lash out at anyone

if im going to assume yuuto is actually also chaining ryo to the mortal plane, i actually want to assume ryo has been around for a while and yuuto himself just didnt want to do anything about it. and was like "nah its fine well get you to move on soon bro lets spend time together." and only now when ryo is going crazy is yuuto like "oops"

but this begs a question suddenly

how the heck did they even know its keagan's fault?

Given the need to have the stone, I don't think they'd be walking around semi-randomly.

I'm also not convinced that Yuuto is tying him down. Maybe he's just acting as an anchor, like, to keep you from getting pulled way over there to the dark places, hold onto a piece of me.

That androgynous look that sae brought up is a good point too; I can see it, but Yuuto still comes across as male (and in the genderbend art for q&a as female).

visually i think the comic stands out most when the tone shifts to the creepy. cause thats when the effects really are A+ and just capture that nice unsettling feel
