got another job interview tomorrow. pray 4 me

#it was originally for a busser or server job at a cocktail bar in a luxury hotel but the manager on the phone seemed like she wanted to #interview me for the position of host so. yeah #I’m a little intimidated by that role because I am not the most social person on earth to say the least but. I may be able to get used to it #and I will admit. I am kind of motivated by the pay and tips from being a host. cause holy hell it’s 18 bucks an hour plus tips #and that’s plus tips at a 4 star hotel. where the menu is pretty pricy and the people coming there Well Off.#I didn’t really consider that before but hhhhhhh……………that sure is enticing #hoo boy but anyway. a little nervous about this interview cause I’ve never done a host or server job before #but my conversation with the manager over the phone seemed to go pretty well i think so hey #kibumblabs #oh yeah I also cut my hair short last minute and i can’t tell if that was a horrible idea or not yet #it’s not nearly as finished as I’d want it to be but. here we are I guess #I havent legit cut my own hair (let alone this Much of it) in like. a couple years now I think #I think it looks fine but I’m just hoping I don’t regret it #I know it’ll grow out again eventually but idk #I did this kinda impulsively because of the job interview tomorrow. like I was kinda worried for such a nice place they’d be a little #picky with their appearance preferences and like. one day when i am not busy dying on the inside and out i will write an honest-to-god essay about how people are, for the lack of a better descriptor but simultaneously for the lack of a more perfect one, too edgy about five.

#like yeah five is an edgy game and the darkest in the series and gloomier than all of its predecessors but. i lack the words for it now but #there are important little moments in five where light shines through the carpet haphazardly thrown over a pile of garbage that oft get #ignored in favor of pushing the agenda that everyone in five is filth down to the core and that's just not true #i just- deeeeeeep sigh. people are so shallow sometimes man #this is how we get those characters that do not resemble the original in the slightest that either take one trait of the given character an #then bloat and exagerrate it until the character is a caricature of themselves OR projections of what the people would like these character #to BE in order to... be able to wrap their heads around them and their motivations more easily‚ i guess??#i don't know it feels to me like people just don't want to bother with the intricacies of complex characters and that's how the wood plank #versions of characters get created and then passed around ad infinitum #sweet grouchy baby boy who never did anything wrong ever. man who is either an innocent little big guy or satan himself. guy who is #objectively one of the most flawed individuals in the series being worshipped as a hero (griffith syndrome). guy who is either depicted as #an obnoxious playboy who only cares about getting laid and having as much skin exposed as possible at all times or the most vile man on #planet earth while being neither. the fucking. masochist cyborg thing. i'm gonna explode #oh and if you point out that there needs to be depth to any analysis of these characters if you are to do them justice you end up with a #gaggle of people saying oh yeah of course everyone in here is awful and they all have pig hearts #and i'm just wondering why this is the default conclusion most come to and not‚ you know‚ the thought that complexity does not inherently #imply rottenness but rather that even in the most horrible of situations you can find something good #i'm not the happiest or the most fortunate of individuals but i still refuse to believe in the idea of inherent evil that's being sold for #cheaper than a copy paper pack these days #but that has nothing to do with this my point is if you're trying to do media analysis you've got to look beyond... i don't have a word for #this... i guess you could call them fanmade stereotypes? no that's not it‚ my point is that people need to open their eyes to how complex #motivations and circumstances and human connection are and face that complexity head on instead of rubbing the story with sandpaper until #it's satisfiable to them #logs

sometimes i think being in the riverdale cast is like going to the charter school in my hometown. you have a senior class of twenty two people and by senior year they're all bisexual and openly horny on main and there are only two people in the senior class who haven't kissed every other member of the senior class and it's because they've been in a weird exclusive relationship since they were seven years old and never backed off that shit

#personal #lovecraftian batman lb #i don't get as annoyed by it as most people but i do have a bit of a bone to pick with it #just cuz i think the overuse of it and the lack of sensitivity used towards it #given how ubiquitously known it is in pop culture #has really kinda dulled the teeth of the death of batman's parents #like what happened to bruce that night is such a monstrously horrific thing to go through #he was eight years old and his parents were shot dead in front of him in cold blood for no reason #and he had to sit with their bodies until he was found and the killer was never caught and he had to live with watching them die #watching his parents DIE be murdered in a particularly gruesome way before he'd even lived for ten years #that's awful that's such a horrible thing to happen to a little boy #if we read about that happening on the news we'd all have a very visceral reaction #and because batman media is SO oversaturated with retreading that ground without wanting to focus on what a terrible thing it was #it really takes the punch out of it #don't show the death of the waynes until it's actually necessary guys god #anyway that's my rant for the day back to the movie

#im lost in my own memories as well as recounting what my mother has told me #i will admit i do not fully recall things from before i was 5. but i do have some vague memories. i KNOW Part of Your World was the...#well...first song i ever memorized. i remember putting the movie in my vhs player and rewinding the song . waiting. then pushing play again #to listen to the song and sing along with it. i would sing With ariel. i spent hours doing this with plenty of songs :)#until i got the hang of it and could perfectly (or as perfectly as a prek age kid can) sing it. i did this with a LOT of songs from movies #i sang disney. i sang barbie. (most specifically “free” from princess and the pauper. tbh tho i mostly sang Barbies part and not Ericas???)#but i did sing all of the other girl parts in that movie...#anyway. i joined choir come middle school. was in varsity. joined the highest choir a little 1st year in HS can join when i got into HS #something i still hold pride in bc we had tryouts for it :) i had multiple solos for choir concerts. in my 2nd year of HS i was bumped up #to Chorale choir (aka THE highest choir...intermingling boys and girls) and i even tried out for Show Choir #which you can only try out if you are in Acapella (the highest a freshman can be in) or Chorale. and only 10 to 12 girls make it in #and i made it in :)#sure by then i felt overshadowed but i had a ton of fun :) i quit choir my last two years bc...#well. i was pursuing a possible medical career via classes #but i still sing to this day. its so Relaxing and releases SO much serotonin. and tbh whats the weirdest part..?#when i try to record myself singing i get all nervous. but the moment i hold a microphone? even if im recording? my confidence shoots up #and my anxiety goes away #i love the stage. i love singing. idc if its ''cringe'' or im a Horrible person for ''loving disney'' but without disney songs?#i might not have grown into the person i am with singing as my biggest passion #so YES im going to see TLM live action in theaters. I. Dont. Care. if people think the movie sucks before they even see it #that shit SHAPED my childhood
