ZOSAN Egyptian AU: “For A heart” Collab
Character Sheet: Post!Sanji (2 years into relationship with Zoro)
Hey there, Mossy here! Doing a little solo since @cyriusli is out of commission for a bit thanks to surgery and life! As promised, here’s the art I previewed in the vlog!

Ahah, I’ve been waiting forever to put this up! I sketched it about a month ago now, wow! Time sure flies! But I finally get to show you Post-Timeskip Kitty-Pharaoh Sanji! (We’ve got him in armor later down the line, but for now, let’s enjoy some Sanji butt shall we?)

I actually started Sanji post-timeskip shortly after I sketched both Zoro and Sanji pre-timeskip. I did all my sketches in the nude (will vlog about it later) and then did the outfits over them since I will be using the nude bases for future outfits! Please look out for those too!
As for this design, I wanted to keep some elements from the series post-timeskip, such as Sanji having more yellow/orange on him but still very much portayed as being associated with blue. Black (obsidian, in the fic) went really well with our idea that Zoro would be more into darker colors because of his role as Anubis’s son. Sanji naturally already wears a lot of black, so that was something I was very happy with. I made his ‘blacks’ the same shade as I did Zoro’s to tie them together.
The bandana!
YES. Sanji wears Zoro’s bandana as underwear. I had to. I just had to. He tied it into the gold jewelry he has around his shendyt, to keep it in place, so it’s literally just hanging by the smallest of knots.
As for he rest of Sanji’s ‘clothes’...
He wears his shendyt the same way he wears Zoro’s bandana, and it IS still a shendyt, but he’s not using it properly anymore! Haha! Sanji post-timeskip would definitely be more comfortable about his body, and more into ‘showing off that he’s sleeping with Zoro’. There’ll be all kinds of claw-marks and bites and hickeys all over his butt and sensitive parts.
I wanted to show all that as Sanji’s way of saying “LOOK, LOOK, I SCORED THE SON OF ANUBIS!”, since I know Sanji isn’t the shy type when it comes to Zoro. He’s loud, he’s assertive and hell, they totally switch positions in bed.

Obsession
Two years have gone by since his failed attempt to take down Alabasta. Two years of wondering where it had fone wrong. He had blamed Straehat. Luffy had been the one to defet him after all.
Yet… somwthing was missing and Luffy figuring out how to defeat him was just dumb luck. Truely there was something missing.
When he was in Impale down he had time to think on it. Spent the measily 4 months he was locked away doing just that, thinking. How did he lose? Even as he had seen StrawHat again and had even teamed up with the idiot to.save his brother…. he wasn’t angry.
He couldn’t figure out why. Mildly annoyed. The young pirate iritated him no doubt. Still at the time he truly thought it was Luffy who had ruiend everything. It wasn’t until after the war and as he was healing from battle did he think twice.
His defeat wasn’t because of Strawhat. Sure, he was the man who beat him in the end. Yet… strawhat only had that chance because of dumb luck. He had left Luffy to die… twice. That’s when he started to blame Nico Robin.
He was certian she was the one who helped him escape the sand. She was useing him as much as he was her. He had forgiven her from the start. He had meant what he said when he didn’t trust anyone. He couldn’t blame Nico Robin for betryaing him as he would have done the same.
Thinking about it, she had no idea Strawhat would defeat him either. She saved him out of a whim or perhaps pittied him at the time. Now they both knew that the young pirate wasn’t someone you underestimate. No he was a great challenge. If he was truthful… he would like to fight him again.
No Nico Robin wasn’t the blame. Straw Hat wasn’t the blame. And once again Crocodile found himself wondering what had happened. Who had distroyed his plans. His thoughts went to Princess Vivi. The young girl had done everything she could to stop him.
Yet…. could he blame her? It was her country… her people. She was only doing what she knew to be right. He exspected it of her. He never thought she would win thought. Truthfully she almost didn’t. If not for the Straw Hat Pirates she would have lost.
No vivi was not the problem. He had beaten her. She only wone because of her help. It was something else. It bothered him and as much as he thought about it, he could not figure it out.
Then finally he had gotten his hands on some wanted posters. By this point strawhat had 9 members. Minus Nico Robin, the Brool fellow whos poster was over 50 years… there were two he did not recoginise.
Cyborg Franky and Black Leg Sanji.
He recalled never seeing Mr. Prince. Then just thinking about the man made his blood boil. This black leg Sanji had to be it. He only had a drawing as a poster. Smart enough to keep his face from Cameras.
He had Luffy and his band of misfits caotured. They were moments from death. Then this Mr. Prince showed up and ruiend it all! Even blew up part of cosino! Even by helping out Mr. 3 Mr Prince had rescued not only Straw Hat but Smoker as well. It distroyed everything! He was outwitted!
If only he could see this man’s face. To see the person who had out matched him. Crocodile found himself obsessing over this Sanji. The need to distroy him was strong.
“Crocodile.” Mr 1 Said from behind. He handed his boss a newspaper.
Crocodile read it over quickly. His mouth twitched and curled into a smile. By the time he finished reading he was laughing. He knew his heading. The StrawHates were in Disrosa. If the Flame flame fruit was anything to go by that was….

Weeeell... I've done better lol. Was experimenting with pen, and now I'm curious how it would look in my usual pencil... ANYWAY I'll improve 😊 This is for @mossybrows Friday the 13th themed art swap with me @cyriusli and @auspizien. And I ended up doing... raven Sanji and black cat Zoro. Wow so original Chilly, turn your ship into animals. ANYWAY FOR A SECOND TIME This was fun and I'm glad I did it, despite trying to organise a huge trip at the same time. For A Heart Chapter One
Hey, @cyriusli here and I am super excited to be able to announce that the first chapter of For A Heart is now live and available for you to read! You can find it in the link above on my Ao3 account!
This AU, as well as working with @mossybrows has been fantastic and I haven’t been this excited about a project in a long time! I have always loved Ancient Egypt and was even more excited that I got to incorporate my two favorite gods from the culture.
Working with Mossy is always fun, and it’s been really awesome to see her grow more and more excited for this as she’s learned about the different gods and lore. We have incorporated some of the old lore, of course twisting it to fit our story, as well as just making some things up. As always, there is some base truth to my writing, even if you have to search to find it.
Mossy’s art is simply fantastic! Same as with the writing, her choice of outfits and coloring is based off of actual outfits of the time, as well as colors that the Ancient Egyptians had access to. Of course, there are liberties taken there as well, but there is also an authentic feel to her art.
Either way, I know both of us are really excited to bring this to you and we hope you greatly enjoy it!

Okay, so here we are!
Missing You is a collab fic done by myself and @mossybrows-draws for the Zosan month hosted by @onigirifortwo. This, for me, came off a little weird at first as it hit me in a style I normally don’t write in, but I like it just the same. It’s short (by my standards) but it’s got a little angst and a little fluff. Perfect for these two!

Character: Sora Vinsmoke (Sola Vinsmoke)
Role: Bastet!Sora / Sekhmet!Sola
Pet-Name: Sanji-Mama
Mossy: I was the one who wanted Sola in the fic, honestly. If we were going to have Sanji be the son of Bastet, it had to be Sora/Sola. Even if Cyriusli had said no, I would’ve insisted, I swear I wanted it to be Sola so badly. She seriously doesn’t get enough screen or panel-time. Most of our concept development happened because of the problem we encountered with Bastet/Sekhmet cat-god Sora. I like to headcanon that Sanji takes after his mama, so I used that idea in creating a little more of Sora’s design.
Cyriusli: I admit, I was a little skeptical at first, but she grew on me and I was able to find a way to incorporate her into the plot of the story. Both parent gods make appearances, but this is more about Sanji and Zoro so their roles are minor in the main story.
Mossy: Same reason I don’t really have a lot of development sketches for her. I got distracted and drew in a little baby Sanji just for interaction concept reasons...and then ended up making Zoro and Sanji baby chibis. But more on that later. XD
Cyriusli: The chibis are freaking adorable. You keep getting sidetracked and making new things and I am just sitting here like… you have 5 other things to finish first! What are you doing?!
Mossy: I’m sorry! But his wittle buttt butt wa so nyaa nyaa and I just HAD to! Besides, I’d already drawn the child!versions of them both anyway! So I was like ‘why not baby versions’!?? Ayway. I did have a little more trouble with Sola/Sora. I was like Bastet? Sekhmet? Bastet? Sekhmet? Like we mentioned before, we decided to make 2 different versions of Sola/Sora because of the differences between Egyptian North and South Kingdom cultures.
Cyriusli: Incorporating all the different points in the Egyptian lore is a little hard to juggle, but I think we are handling it fairly well at this point. And besides, we are completely inserting two beings that never even existed, combining Bastet and Sekhmet into one momma god probably isn’t the worst thing we could be doing.
Mossy: True, but I am having a little more trouble with her armor than I expected. Have one design up now ( could be another design up by the time I post this text on my character sheet for her.)
Cyriusli: Yeah and then I get to write her when we pretty much know nothing about how her character operated. I think our little twist of her “ignoring” Sanji a good portion of the time is good though because that plays into the part of Sanji missing her so much.
Mossy: I was thinking about the story Oda had about the Germa 66, where the hero, Sora, who has a telltale similar name to Sora/Sola, Sanji’s mom and how this hero defied the Germa 66 and saved North Blue. With Sekhmet being the goddess of war, I thought it was fitting she was Sanji’s mom. She could be waging war to fight for her babies back from Jaji of another culture or something, being an Egyptian god, maybe fight with the Roman or Greek god she had an affair with? LOL. Not that I’m being serious.
Cyriusli: Yeah, I don’t think that would really work and it would get too complicated. I do however see Sola fighting a lot of wars. Like maybe this is a time where Old Kingdom is crumbling and Unification is on the horizon. Sanji is located in the deep southern part of the Nile but that doesn’t mean there isn’t a lot of fighting. There has to be… Zoro’s place at the scales tells us there is.
Mossy: Ahh, I love having Sola/Sora get to be here and be an active character! The possibilities are endless! I do love the lion look she ended up with being a fire-illusion instead of an actual lion face.
Cyriusli: Yeah! That’s pretty cool!
Mossy: It also helped with Nebit’s design, because...I mean, I’m not against anyone who’s into it, but I can’t exactly fall for anyone who has a lion for a face and a human body. Not into that. So I thought if Nebit was going to ‘take after Sola’ because of Sanji, then having her be a nekomimi would be ideal.
Cyriusli: I know that was my plan for Nebit all along. We cover her background a bit more in her sketch, but my plan for her was to look like Sanji and his mama, different than the rest of the attendants and guards that live in the palace and temple.
Mossy: As for Mama Sola/Sora (I still dunno which one to call her), I finally got my act together after moving houses and countries again and finished her design up. Though I did have a bit of trouble with the colors. Since Sanji’s got a lot of orange to his character (fire and all), I thought it was fitting to keep it in the golds and yellows. Though I did accidentally color part of her armor green at some point. The designs of her armor made me rethink the designs of her Bastet!form dress.
Cyriusli: I think her Bastet dress looks fine and I think her armor does as well. I really love the helm you made for her and her tail is pretty awesome as well, even if that isn’t exactly armor. I’m glad we got the color thing figured out though, you sent me those pics and my instant reaction was, gods, I know we are moss, but please not that. Slight color change made all the difference for badass warrior momma.
Mossy: Haha! I can’t wait to have her in the Chopper’s Comic Corner! I have a lot of Monster Hunter history under my belt (not that I was a good player, but I did manage to collect a lot of armor, so I did have to kill a lot of monsters). It’s mostly that stuff that helped me design her armor.
Cyriusli: This whole process is cool for me because I may think up armor, but I never get to see how it looks outside my head, so to see Mossy bring this stuff to life is just such a great thing to me. She makes it seem so simple, despite the hours we spend in skype screaming at one another over things lol
Mossy: Ahh yes, the screaming. There be plenty screaming. I was screaming about using turtle shells as armor for Sola’s/Sora’s skirt because well...shit forgot my reasons. But yeah, I was screaming about that but then I realized Cyriusli was offline and I couldn’t call her about it and then I was sad.
Cyriusli: Oh no! I’m sorry. You didn’t tell me about that.
Mossy: LOL yeah I forgot. But I should ask now; did they have turtles in the nile? I mean...Sekhmet!Sola kinda has a turtle shell skirt.
Cyriusli: Yeah, they had turtles. The Nile used to be a huge ecosystem, not that it isn’t now, but it used to be bigger, I guess. So there were all sorts of animals that are typical of a water environment, including ibis, egret and the DEATH PELICANS.
Mossy: Oh thank god...they’re very orange though. Is that kinda weird? Ah. I’ll change it to the shell color. XDD I think this is about it for Sora/Sola-sama. Man I love her! I wish she showed up more in the manga, like many other women, we clearly don’t get enough of what kind of person she is other than the fact that she’s a good mother.

Character Sheet: Roronoa Zoro
Role: Son of Anubis!Mihawk
Pet-Name: Zoronubis (Only Mossy says this shit)
Cyriusli: So, with creation of Bastet Sanji, it only seemed natural that we have Anubis Zoro. I immediately googled Anubis and started showing Mossy pictures and linking her to sites with information on him. I also started a google doc and just started listing information and pictures for references to just about everything I could think of that had to do with both characters. I think it’s probably also worth noting that Anubis and Bastet are my two favorite of the Egyptian gods.
Mossy: Hell yeah. Cyriusli got really into it right off the bat and it got me really hyped. I’ve always had to work alone on character designs before, so it was new and exciting to have someone who knew about the history to work with. We wanted Zoro to have a helmet that looked like a jackal because of the reference picture Cyriusli picked out. I had a random brain fart and was like “What if the helmet had holes and his ears are real, like Sanji’s ears are real, but integrated into the helmet to look like it was a part of the helmet too.” This was our first hill with Zoro.
Cyriusli: Not really, cause I was like, oh hell yes! Ears and a tail just like Sanji! The hard part was trying to figure out what the helm would look like with the ear holes in it. We had to struggle with Zoro’s weaponry as well. I started with a more traditional weapon of giving him a staff, but Mossy drew his sketch with a sword and back to researching we went.
Mossy: I couldn’t help it! Zoro uses swords! Three of them too! I thought well, if we won’t have him with a sword in his mouth, we could still have him have Wado Ichimonji in his mouth. All we had to do was change what Wado-san was--Cyriusli wanted her to be a staff. I still drew Zoro with a katana at his side though in my initial sketch and was trying to find any evidence he’d be able to get a katana historically. But no dice. ): As for the helmet, we put it on hold until I had Zoro’s nudes scanned (more on that later).
Cyriusli: Yeah, we had to wait on some things. We came up with a good compromise for Zoro’s weaponry though. I wanted the staff for authenticity as well as a way to command his jackals and with Mossy wanting the swords, we ended up with the staff and two scimitar.
Mossy: I could not pronounce that word for shit. I kept saying “schmiter” or “schimitur--ghelp!”. But I did like the idea of turning the other swords into jackals, colored accordingly to their katana counterparts in the series. It also fit with Zoro’s color palette. The glaring one in design would be the staff, Wado Ichimonji, being white. Which I mean, is pretty much the same for Zoro in the series. Like Sanji, we worked with an egyptian color palette (below) and I also had several pics of Zoro pre timeskip open as well for color reference.
Cyriusli: I think in some ways Zoro was harder to design because of the amount of things we had to look at. With Sanji, it was mostly clothing and jewelry, with Zoro, we had him, his armor, the weapons and his jackals, who each have an independent design and personality. Zoro has been more work than Sanji in a lot of ways, but just as much fun. The jackals were a lot of fun to figure out, both in design and backstory.
Mossy: God I have so many weapon references open. I did like the shoulder guards that Cyriusli sent me. I think it’s from World of Warcraft. As for the jackals (below), I just took the katana designs, which, I am very grateful have golden ornaments on each of them so I just decorated them that way. You can see the parts of the katana I used in the jackals in the following pics:
Cyriusli: I think that’s about it for Zoro as well. There are his scars, but well… spoilers on those, so we can’t talk about them. Oh! He’s barefoot as well, I think almost everyone is barefoot in this story honestly.
Mossy: Well, that’s it for NOW. We’ve got quite a bit of dialogue on Sanji’s design, you’ll all just have to see just what we’ve got for Zoro as well. It’s no less interesting! Stay tuned for Part 2~!

Being a god was easy compared to this.
Mihawk had spent countless eons as the God of Death, watching over the scales and the underworld with only minor incident. He’d created a home out of the dark nightmare known as the underworld and he was fine to spend his free time lounging in his obsidian temple that overlooked the lake of fire.
It was a good life; a simple life and one that Mihawk highly enjoyed. Yet, he felt something was missing and he couldn’t quite figure out what it was. It had taken some time to finally pinpoint the exact thing Mihawk was looking to fill the void with, but eventually he figured it out.
Wrapped up in a tattered blanket, Mihawk almost walked passed the bundle until he heard a small whimpering. He’d never once thought of himself as a parent, but the first time he had laid eyes on his son, Mihawk knew that had been what was missing. Zoro, as Mihawk would come to decide his name should be, was one of the smallest beings he’d ever seen. He was a chubby little thing, blinking bleary and clouded eyes up at Mihawk as he waved fisted hands in the air.
Mihawk had never known such great joy and vowed to keep the young child safe from harm. Cradling Zoro in his arms, Mihawk had first gone to the stables, picking out a sleek red jackal pup to stay by his son’s side as he grew. It was Mihawk’s hope that Zoro and the jackal would bond and spend the rest of their lives together, much like the several that Mihawk had himself.
He’d never regretted making a decision as much as he had that one.
Rubbing at his ears, he flattened them back against his head in an attempt to lower the volume of noise that bounced around the room. It was tiring and endless, hurting his ears and giving him a headache. Yet, he had to constantly remind himself, he loved his son, even if all he seemed to do was yell as of late.
Zoro had grown quickly, but was still very young, toddling around the throne room while Mihawk looked on, keeping a watchful eye on him, as well as the rest of his undying kingdom. “Teach him his native tongue,” Mihawk muttered under his breath as another chorus of Bork Bork Bork filled the air, accompanied by the high pitched yips of the jackal pup. “It will be a way for you two to bond.”
Mihawk was going to kill Thoth, he was sure of it.
“Bork bork Bork!” Inhaling sharply, Mihawk bit his tongue before he snapped at his son. He knew what Zoro was trying to say, but the fact that he couldn’t pronounce the single word, even after all the time, and all the attempts Mihawk had tried to correct him, was frustrating.
Things were quiet for a moment before Zoro gave a high pitched squeal, something close to a giggle and Mihawk dropped the scroll he was reading to his lap as his ears shot forward in alarm. The pup, who Mihawk was calling “Demon” until Zoro was old enough to name him, was growling, all four feet planted as he tugged at the clothing Zoro was wearing. There was a loud ripping sound and another squeal of joy as Demon ran off with Zoro’s shendyt between his teeth.
Mihawk groaned and rubbed at his temples, knowing he didn’t have the energy to chase after the little red jackal. Shaking his head, he looked back to Zoro, who had his arms out, teetering on one foot as he tried to walk across the floor toward Mihawk.
Sitting up straight in his throne, Mihawk held his breath as he watched his son take his first real steps. Zoro had been crawling around for weeks and was able to stand against things, but he’d never seen the young god actually walk. Three steps in and Zoro faltered, dropping to his hands with his butt in the air as he wagged his tail. “Great job, Zoro,” Mihawk found himself saying, his own tail thumping against the back of his throne as pride swelled in his chest.
Zoro’s ears swiveled toward Mihawk as he picked up his head, the tip of one still drooping down as Zoro gained the strength to hold it up properly. He grinned up at Mihawk, eyes bright as he sputtered, drool trailing down his chin to drop to the polished floor. “Bork Bork Bork!” Childish glee bubbled up Zoro’s throat as he bounced on his hands with each word that left his throat.
Zoro kept bouncing on his hands, the single word repeated each time his hands hit the floor and soon enough he was actually jumping, his entire chubby little body leaping off the floor with each loud Bork that came from his mouth. Mihawk sighed, rubbing at his temples. Of course it would be his son that thought himself an actual jackal, jumping around as crazily as a playing pup, instead of trying to learn to walk.
There was a scrabble of nails of stone and Demon was flying back into the room, barking and yipping as he jumped around with Zoro on the floor. Each time Zoro would screech out the single word— “BORK!” —and the jackal would yip back, as they jumped around the room, their combined high pitched voices only making Mihawk’s headache worse.
He wasn’t going to get any work done, Mihawk was sure of it. Closing his eyes, he sighed heavily, resigning his afternoon to listening to his son pronounce his name wrong over and over again, while his pup played along with him. Resting his chin in his hand, Mihawk leaned his elbow on the arm of his throne and sorta dozed on and off. He was aware of the commotion around him, however, perking up when the noise suddenly stopped.
Thinking something was wrong, he sat up straight, looking around the room and only finding Demon sprawled on the floor, all four feet in the air as he slept. Tipping his head to the side, Mihawk perked his ears forward, wondering where his son could have gotten off to, when he felt a tug on his shendyt. Looking down, Zoro was looking back up at him, his golden eyes bright as he grinned up at Mihawk, small canines poking out of his otherwise toothless gums.
“Bahk,” Zoro questioned, his mouth forming awkwardly as he actually said the word correctly, tugging on Mihawk’s clothing as he did.
“That’s right.” Reaching down, Mihawk picked his son up, placing a still naked Zoro in his lap as he twisted his head to look at him. “Bahk; father in our native tongue.”
Zoro squealed again, the sound much louder with him being so close. On the floor, Demon twitched his sleep, rolling over and groggily sitting up at the sound of Zoro’s voice. “Bork,” the young god screeched and Mihawk sighed heavily. At least now he knew for sure, Zoro knew how to actually pronounce the word, even if he never seemed to use it.
