Do y’all ever find yourselves in a situation where you have managed to make such a nice sketch and then the line art just doesn’t line art because you somehow cant make it look just as nice as the sketch

#art #i was brewing up a complicated picture in my head too many factors intermingling and i put a requirement on myself that i would need to #feel a certain mood to create said picture cuz only then would it feel good and true but it was an impossible to achieve mood #and it made me miserable for a week i went to bed as soon as possible everyday to skip to the next one but today i woke up at 2am #and thought well maybe i should just draw something simple that i like it doesnt have to be high concept #so its just darkrai!!!! cuz its such a cooly! and its made out of shapes ive enjoyed drawing recently #smoking fire plumelike stuff u kno...#and i got to try out the spraypaint thing again cuz there was stuff i realized i coulda done better after the red 3 head hybrid pic #so i wanted to do it again. do u like these- with the spraypaint rendering? i will make more of them no matter what u say #but im about to go to bed now. i started the pic at 11am and finished at 8pm so 9hrs spent?! well the stenciling takes a long while in pain #i did the spraying in ms paint again and then composited it in paint net like usually.#also im typing much because the combination of coffee (which i try to make special and rare for me so it hits more cutely)#+ the euphoria that drawing gives me makes me talkative. but now.- ! im tired !! goodnight #pokemon #darkrai

Gotta write a production report for two songs we recorded and I'm gonna have to do at least a third of it for a group of 6 after having done about half of the recording and editing work for one of these two projects...all that cause I still haven't found an internship so I can't just say : do it without me.

It's a little exhausting. I know they will work if I really push them but they'll do it super late and I'll have to revise it when I get back home from the small concert I've allowed myself to go instead of my portuguese lesson (brazilian artist so it's all good my teacher said, I still feel bad) and I'll have to run around tomorrow morning to print it and I'll assume the cost again.

It's...yeah it's exhausting. And my thesis is so far behind, and I still have no internship. I wanna keep strong but man that diploma is slipping away from me. I'm not even sure I have good enough grades at my exams now !

#yeah ok the anxiety is back #I have meds that are over the counter so like not great stuff but I'll just chug that down and hope it does something #plus I'm super stressed cause some of them are coming to a small party at my place (for once that I'm alone without my brother there)#and I was talkign with one of them (the closer one) about maybe coming out to them and he said yeah if you want :)#but now one of them is bringing his girlfriend and I am noooot doing that but also my place is a very intimate space for me #I so rarely invite people over because of that #I should stop drinking coffee it might be helping #my head is killing me #I'm so close to giving up on my studies all together and reimburse my mom #but I don't want to !! the people that inspire me the people i look up to the people i want to be like fought for it and never gave up #I'm not even sure I'm made for these studies. I have no ambition I just want to make people happy with music but the kind I love doesn't #really require me ? cause it's mostly small concerts with acoustics instruments #maybe I should have gone into idk social work but I'm pretty sure I would be way too anxious for it same reason i can't be a therapist #and the situation at home isn't much better rn #I really need to breath rn or I'm gonna be out of commission for so long that it will be even more stressful to do the reports at midnight #I'm gonna chicken out tonight as well and just stand there and listen and not talk to the artist afterwards and try to use the portuguese #I've learned nooo I'm just gonna default to english or french

re: that last post. anyone can drink whatever they want but I wish more people learned to make tea bc it's the most delicious drink on earth. if you've drunk tea using supermarket standard black tea you cannot even compare it to the experience of having some properly brew tea, even the simplest jasmine green tea will unlock your tastebuds!! and you don't need to add anything to it!

#if coffee makes you nervous then tea is the answer as it is more balanced #i've read it somewhere but basically it has less caffeine and it releases more slowly #you get the energy but not the immediate caffeine kick #i truly do not understand adding sugar to tea #it exists as a tradition because of shitty secondhand teas #good teas don't require sugar

Ah yes, my favourite time of year: the time when we figure out what the hell to get my grandma for her birthday

#it isn’t until august but it requires careful planning in advance #the woman is.. particular. about her tastes. and she is VERY vocal if she doesn’t like something #yes even if it’s a gift #she can legit be so rude.. she told the sales assistant in a car dealership ‘i don’t like coffee from these places’#like ma’am what the hell does that MEAN #but she’s also the only reason i have any level of financial security. she helps me out a lot and i do love her even though she’s ridiculous #so we (me and my mom) have got to figure out what to get for her. especially since my uncle (only other descendant) is useless #he is going to give her a card and some random item someone gave him that he doesn’t want. guaranteed.#best case scenario is that it might be edible. worst case scenario it’s a repeat of the ugly bird clock incident of 2020 #(my granddad got rid of that thing by giving it to a recently bereaved neighbour. as if they didn’t already have enough problems)#anyway. so my usual go-to is to buy her jewellery of some kind but i’ve sort of bought myself into a hole with that #because she absolutely loves the bee necklace i bought her for mother’s day last year and hasn’t stopped wearing it since #and she also keeps wearing the opal earrings from christmas. so i’m a bit like.. what do i do now #my mom suggests ‘book’ but my grandma reads more than anybody and neither of us volunteer at the library anymore #so we can’t find out What she’s reading without committing a comedy heist or possibly bribing my old supervisor #i’m in favour of picking a random slightly lesser-known murder mystery author; or maybe buying her the new ruth ware since we know for sure #she’s never read ruth ware & she’d probably like her & also she can’t physically have read a book that’s not out yet #so. that. and probably some dark chocolates from her favourite chocolate shop #and i might knit her a case for her glasses since she really liked the one i made for mine and was making a huge fuss of it. idk though #i just want to do right by her since my uncle is an idiot and also she’s literally just bought me a trip to america. so.#i’ll think on it #personal

With every passing day I become more and more convinced that by far the most controversial opinion I hold is that Fahrenheit is a perfectly fine measurement system for temperature actually

#'but it's so convenient to have the boiling point of water at 100°'#why?#what are you doing in your everyday life that requires you to know the exact point at which water boils at all times?#does the stove you're boiling pasta on operate to within a single Celsius of heat output?#does your coffee maker/tea kettle have a dial on the side where you can select a specific water temperature?#it was an arbitrary choice don't try to act like it wasn't #'but what about 0 being the freezing point of water that's useful at least'#okay I'll give you that it has more relevance than setting 0 to the freezing point of some specific brine solution #but hear me out:#there's a relatively easy way to know at what point water freezes in any temperature measurement system you choose to use #it's called 'memorizing literally one number and it's significance'#now I'm not saying the choices made about where 0 and 100 are in the Fahrenheit system aren't arbitrary #(because they ARE)#what i am saying is that the choices behind 0 and 100 in the Celsius system are ALSO arbitrary #even if America were to completely throw away the rest of the Imperial system and switch over to metric #(something i fully support don't get me wrong)#i see no good argument to get rid of Fahrenheit as well

Having to clean the kitchen within 10 minutes of waking because the coffee machine malfunctioned was not a great way to start my day.

Parents make developing a social life seem 10 times easier then it actually is

#random rambling with starly #it’s like they fail to understand that the way kids hang out has changed since they were kids #sorry that all the places you hung out are now overrun by smokers #and that unlike you if we go outside to hang out we’ll be stuck in 32 degree heat #and it’s not like we have anywhere to go on walks or just sit and talk #everywhere that we could’ve done that has been used for more construction and city shit #not to mention when you’re between the age of 12-15 there’s not really much you can do #the park becomes too boring for you but everything else isn’t exactly 12-15 year old friendly because it all requires money #lots and lots of money #so yeah between lack of things to do and extreme heat #hanging out outside has become really difficult #especially when all your friends like a 2 hour walk away #I feel like I’m complaining too much #but honestly I’m tired of my parents not realizing that things have changed #we can’t do the same things they did in their childhood #unlike my mom I don’t have a mall in walking distance or an arcade that you barely need to spend any money at #I don’t have anywhere to play sports like my dad did #all I have is a coffee shop and I doubt any of my friends want to spend 4 hours at a coffee shop

#my to-do list is a mile long #starting with: Laundry. Text Aspen (friend i made at camp and got their number but ive forgotten to text yet)#car payment. gift for a friend that shouldve been finished months ago. part of a passion project. repair tears in my jeans.#get insurance. pay bill. donate shit to goodwill. emissions test. and new social security card #it gets more and more adult-y as you go #i dont want to do any of it tho... not even the shit thats easy like sending a text or my passion project #BUT heres a hack: laundry is magical #for me at least #laundry has a time limit. like 30-60 minutes. so i drop off my laundry whoch is easy. go home. now i have a deadline #'how many of my tasks can i complete before the wash is done? how many dishes can i wash? how many lines can i write?'#shit like that. gotta create a deadline for mg brain and that helps it get stuff done #its hard to gather my laundry and drive myself to the laundromat tho... thats all thats holding me back #like thats literally it. i could finish half my list if i could just get my laundry going #bad brain bad brain bad brain #mental health problems require wack solutions #'need to do stuff? just do laundry! itll give you a deadline to do stuff!' wack #i am so tired #i should dye my hair again #EDIT: another hack (for me) is to drink coffee #i only drink coffee if I'm doing productive stuff. i drink coffee at the cafe where i do my work or i have a bottle of starbucks #so if i want to work i buy a starbucks glass bottle coffee #it tastes like productivity #idk drinking anything makes it a little more fun to work but sipping a coffee while tapping away at my laptop is a vibe and it works #just find what works for you i guess
