For KinnPorsche week day 1, I had to choose Porsche, specifically Momfriend Porsche. I love so many of the characters in the show, but Porsche's desire to just take care of everyone is so endearing to me. Is he a disaster bi? Yes. Does he struggle with making good decisions in the face of any pressure? Absolutely. But he's also someone, who once he's emotionally attached to you, will be there any way you need. There's many jokes here about his single braincell struggling to keep up with the world around him, and that's valid, but there's an emotional intelligence to Porsche that really shines when he's talking one on one with people.

There's a focus in the show on his skills as a fighter, and the other skills he develops as a bodyguard, but I love the small glimpses into domestic Porsche. One of my favorite quotes has always been "Nothing is so strong as gentleness, nothing so gentle as real strength." (Saint Francis de Sales) and it's one that I think applies so accurately to Porsche.

You think you're safe don't you? You are probably the responsible one in the group, perhaps even the mom friend. You are relatively smart but all it takes is one little thing to suck all your braincells out. It could be hanging around your fellow stupid friends, it could be being left alone, it could be having a bit too much fun. I hope things have gotten better for you - Tumblr/my phone ate my first stab at answering you and I just now got a chance today. The one thing I did really want to say, though, whether things resolved with your friend or not, I think we all get a lot of really destructive messages about making mistakes in this world. Call it purity culture, call it cancel culture, call it whatever - religious spaces, progressive spaces, they both like to subtly or not so subtly make you feel like any misstep you make means that - that's it, you're a terrible, ruined person now. And it's just not true! Literally every person screws up a whole lot, and a whole lot more than anyone wants to admit. And yeah, sometimes you really really hurt someone you care about when you screw up. This does. Not. Mean. You are a horrible. Toxic. Person. My mom (a therapist) has a phrase she likes to use a lot. "Be Clunky" That basically boils down to, we're all out here muddling through life as best we can, and a lot of our best is really messy. Give yourself kindness with your own clunkiness and give other people the benefit of the doubt with theirs.

(*most other people - there are certainly people who you need to keep yourself safe from - whether physically or emotionally)

short concept:

zane gets injured in a surprise attack from a group of assassins. he's shot in the chest and grazed on his cheek. (forgive me, not an expert on injuries) he's got a partial collapsed lung and is having a hell of a time trying not to choke on his own blood. but he succeeds, he wins the fight, and he quickly fast travels to sanctuary.

the moment he arrives on the ship, he collapses.

transition to the sanctuary, and amara is there. she was on the ship at the time, while moze and fl4k were out on personal missions.

the idea of amara being relieved to hear he's actually doing just fine, given the injuries, and he's gonna be out of the fighting business for a bit. he's sedated on heavy pain killers during this time.

amara talking to tannis about how proud she is of him. to see him go from standoffish to being comfortable enough to come back to the ship while injured.

zane going from extremely cautious, yet friendly, to being comfortable enough to let his guard down around them, to caring deeply for his friends when they were in danger, to now.

dude's fine and he pretends he didn't hear all of that while he was actually conscious and resting lol
