Cassandra made a face. “Aren’t you freezing?”

“I run hot.” Varric winked at her, then laughed loudly. Stray, unbrushed hairs fell in front of his face, which he didn’t swipe away.

She flushed red. “No. You’re just drunk.”

“Could a drunk person do this?”

He stood perfectly still. And then, he continued to stand perfectly still. It was ten seconds of full silence, with only music and laughter in the background to break it, before Cassandra finally frowned.

“Do… what?”

“Was that not a backflip?”

Cullen turned his face away. He held his hand over his mouth and coughed loudly, but not quick enough to hide his smile.

“You didn’t do anything,” Cassandra huffed, “you just stood there!”

“Prove it.”

“Prove—you didn’t even move!”

my absolutely pettiest bg3 fandom complaint is the joke of a alistair>gale pipeline because I did not spent years fighting in the zevran&morrigan trenches and committing unspeakable dragon age fandom crimes with my Hot Takes TM (I LOVE ANORA AND RECRUITED LOGHAIN AND EMBARKED ON AN EPIC ALISTAIR FRIENDIVORCE) just to be assigned alistairmancer at bg3

#I did say it was incredibly petty #antiqua plays bg3 #in the spirit of pettiness I did omit the joke about a alistair>cullen>gale pipeline because I so do not like cullen #modern fandom is so nice and loving of zevran and morrigan and everything but the old fandom was a mess #althought I did see some of the same behaviours come back with bg3 #i actually haven't finished alistair romance to this day. but I have failed to romance him four times!

no truly its really sad. there is no bethanyposting anywhere other than people making her entire personality "sweet and nice and sometimes sad" while sometimes shipping her with alistair. girl who desperately wants to be "normal" and never will be and represses all her "inconvenient" emotions is a fascinating character. i bet she has so many fucked up religion thoughts that get worse in different ways based on being a warden or going to the circle. that all being said it used to be worse. it used to be "generic compliments about and characterization of bethany AND vitriolic anger towards carver while blaming him for having ptsd", so. on the bright side. at least thats less common?
