Hi! I'm curious what program you used to put the zine together? Did you use Abode InDesign? Do you have any tutorials/resources that you would recommend for learning whichever program you used? Thanks!

Hey there, this is Grace! Sorry for the delay I was out of town when we got your message.

Both I and Monica, who was the art mod before me, and Batten who tagged in on assisting with merchandise in later volumes, used Adobe InDesign. We didn't list any particular programs in our How To post (didn't want to assume skill level) but if you are hoping to have lots of text or go to print, InDesign will be your industry standard program for that. There are non-adobe alternatives, but I personally didn't use them because they often don't offer the tools needed for print production or meet my needs for a design program. This may be different for you! We unfortunately don't have any strong recommendation for a free program to try, but we do know of Gimp, SketchUp, and Adobe Spark. Take your time trying out different programs to see which one better fits your needs. If you can get InDesign free from a friend that may be worth it.

Should you choose to brave InDesign, Adobe's resource page for tutorials and trouble shooting will be helpful. They also have a forum community where you can connect with others and ask questions. You could also check out the reddit page if you would like to have another community option! A quick search on YouTube also yielded a bunch of different tutorials, so you'll just have to pick and choose which ones would work best for you for the task you're facing. I apologize I can't really give you more specific answers on InDesign tutorials, it's a large program (as are all Adobe programs) so I would suggest just learning about the pieces and parts that pertain to what you're trying to achieve!

WHO SWEARS THE MOST?

percy - obvious.

annabeth - does so in greek and never learnt to stop (probably got encouraged by other campers because watching a child cuss like a sailor is very funny).

leo - look at me and tell me he doesn’t start swearing the moment he drops a screw or something.

nico - previously enjoyed the feeling of rebellion (brought up catholic), but now finds it unnecessary.

piper - willing, but also finds it unnecessary.

hazel - would be in 3rd if it wasn’t all internalised (soap incident).

jason - doesn’t as of now but would pick it up at his boarding school. thinks it’s funny when people are surprised he does.

frank - asian parent. he uses it sparingly.

Boy do I ever Anon! Thank you for giving me the chance to get on my soapbox about this.

Shane doesn't relapse when he is happily married to the Farmer. The popular "relapse" interpretation is based on faulty assumptions about what substance abuse recovery is supposed to look like and flat-out misreadings of the text of the game.

Shane doesn't "start" drinking again: he never stops, just reduces the amount he drinks. (Unless we are supposed to interpret the phrase "cut back" in the 7 Heart Event as meaning "quit” or "gave up” for some reason. Or if we ignore the new 1.6 dialogue about him drinking less after his 6 Heart event.)

Shane's mess is not a consequence of uncontrolled drinking, but a consequence of his depression and possible under-managed ADHD. His room at Marnie's remains exactly as messy when he's in recovery as it is when he's spiraling, so the drinking has no effect on his cleanliness.

”Okay,” you might say, “but he still shouldn’t drink, and he should pick up his room.” And sure, yeah. Ideally we should all do the same. But that’s not always a fair or realistic expectation for everyone. Not everyone can quit their addictions or bad habits cold turkey. Not everyone is going to be the model citizen. That doesn’t mean they can’t live happy lives. That doesn’t mean they don’t have value. That doesn’t mean Shane doesn’t have value.

So instead of complaining about the ways that Shane fails to measure up to typical adult standards, it may be more productive to ask: is he happy? Is he doing okay? By any reasonable measure, a married Shane is living his best possible life. He‘s surprised and delighted to be your trophy husband. He doesn’t have to worry about taking a soul-sucking job or struggling with unemployment. His drinking isn’t causing him any problems, and if he can’t keep his personal space clean, at least he doesn’t let his mess spread to the rest of the house. He has his own little coop for Charlie and it’s just adorable to watch him bounce her up and down. He actually makes time for Jas. I am not requiring everyone to love Shane the way he is written, or to make space in their farmhouse for him. But please, have realistic expectations for the character that exists. And do make friends with him. He gives you an OP recipe and access to blue chickens!

Update to an Incredible Elden Ring Mod that improves Morgott's fight:

So, Theres a mod that improves Morgott's Bossfight, chief among them, adding him SUMMONING A SHADE OF GODFERY/HOARAH LOUX to attack with him, alongside a ton of speed, attack, and strength buffs.

And Now they've updated it so he summons Hoarah Loux in the second phase, and it's GLORIOUS

and it works So well in lore, with him summoning the spirit of his father to help him fight.....should have been the final boss.

Speaking of how I draw them I figured this would make a good opportunity to post the more accurate refs/sketches of my designs for them! :D even if they’re not super different from how Sock draws em I’m just proud of the art and it’s a bit old so might as well post it now shrugs, I usually go back to this sheet any time I draw them,, idk I’m just particular like that w doing my own spin on em even if it’s just small insignificant stuff lol

As said in the tutorial I give Koen more rounded shapes while Jasper leans more on pointy shapes/angles :3€

Tho like I said this is just how I draw them so don’t take this to heart fully, stylize them however u would wish! ^^

Any fun commentary from the postal worker about the amount of boxes?

Gerald was actually very sweet and impressed with the project! He said he’s always excited to “hear what the kids are doing these days” and thought it was a good thing that “there are people out there who are thinking about suicide prevention and domestic violence”. We also talked about the weather and being tech support for family. A nice conversation with the outside world. 😂
