Some hcs that reader (with a gholdengo and drifblim) who takes care of pecharunt after the events of mochi mayhem.. pecharunt tries to get the reader to eat one of its mochi bc it doesn't think reader is their friend unless reader eats the mochi but reader always tells it "im your friend buddy i promise u" but will bonk its head if it tries to get other people to eat the mochi

After Gholdengo and Drifblim helped you defeat Pecharunt back in Kitakami....the next step was to become its friend and show it all the love that it's been denied for so long.

According to one of the elders, there was more to the story about the Loyal Three and Ogerpon and why they sought after her masks all those years ago, but most of it was omitted from books.

Apparently Pecharunt was only obeying the wishes of its owners that it fed mochi to, and in trying to fulfill their request, the mission winded up turning into something quite tragic for everyone involved.

Hearing that tale made you feel a bit more sympathetic when it came time to properly introduce the mythical to your two aces.

Immediately it thinks it's gonna get another beat down and flings mochi at them in self-defense....but your Gholdengo just blocks them with their skateboard while one bounces harmlessly off of Drifblim's body.

"Stop that, Pech...there's no battle going on here. We're not gonna hurt you. You're safe."

Pecharunt spins around to face you, seeing that you're currently preparing a sandwich on the picnic table.

Before you could finish putting the bread on top (unless you feel like leaving it off), it gently sets down one or two mochi atop the other ingredients, looking at you expectantly.

Only to throw a fit when you instead calmly remove them.

"I'm sorry. I just have to make this sandwich a specific way...but a mochi sandwich does sound tasty.."

"...cha..cha..." It retreats into its shell, looking gravely upset.

You know it didn't mean any harm by it...but one of your partners thought otherwise.

"Dengo!"

"Blimmm.."

You see Drifblim trying to discourage Gholdengo from throwing coins at the poor poison type, but knowing your ghost/steel type..they're petty and think Pecharunt is bad news all around.

They're pretty much saying "well let's see how they like having stuff thrown at them!"

Fortunately, you manage to calm everyone down, gently shooing your 'mons into playing elsewhere before looking for Pecharunt...who was hiding underneath the table, shaking.

You simply sit on the ground and talk to it that way, explaining that you learned about its past and understood why it acts the way it does.

"You don't have to give me mochi in order to get me to like you. We're already friends."

"Run..?"

"Listen, you've spent your whole life trying to please others. You feel like you owe them something, and you're afraid that if you stop giving, they won't love you anymore. But you don't have to worry about that here. My friendship doesn't come with a price, Pecharunt." You smile and hold out your arms. "Except maybe...a hug? And a promise to stop possessing my human friends?"

"........."

"In turn, I'll protect you and make sure you never feel lonely again. Does that sound like a deal?"

Given its hesitance to even look you in the eye, you're unsure if Pecharunt was ready to be this open with you so soon, or if it was afraid you were just lying...

Yet it was quickly moved to tears as it floats into your arms, allowing you to embrace it closely.

You're glad you two could finally come to an understanding.

This mythical 'mon wasn't evil at heart..just misguided in its drive for love and affection.

Now it didn't have to worry about losing yours anymore.

Kieran is autistic and you can't change my mind!

Okay, I KNOW that I'm not the only one who holds this headcanon...but I wanted to do an analysis on Kieran anyway, especially since my best friend @sinnohanvulpix said she'd love to see me do one. Credit to her for all the screenshots used btw. The GIFs on the other hand were either found on Google Images or created by me using gifrun.com and these YouTube videos:

I did not use my own footage for this at all...as proof here's what MY character in the game looks like...he has my real name but I tried to make him look like Orange which is why he has the orange eyes 😅

Okay, now without further ado, let's get started with the analysis!

First, Kieran has a CLEAR special interest in Ogerpon, he admires and looks up to her, he was obsessed with the story of the ogre, he was always trying to go to her den and meet her, he has a meltdown when Ogerpon chooses the player over him, etc. Carmine even says that Kieran "really really REALLY likes the ogre" and that made me think, "Ah! Special interest!"

And then at the end of the Teal Mask he gains a new special interest in getting stronger to beat the player...and he hyperfocuses HARD on that...to the point of it being detrimental to both his physical and mental health, as he was doing nothing but training during that time...he barely ate, barely slept, just trained...and that is not healthy. It's a rare example of media showcasing a special interest being unhealthy and absolutely CONSUMING one's life, and the consequences do actually show for it.

Kieran is very introverted and doesn't know how to make friends very well. I actually think the player is his first friend considering his surprised reaction when the player says they consider him a friend, and following this, he quickly becomes a bit...too attached to the player, as he doesn't quite understand how friendships work.

(This is also such a neurodivergent way to say "I'm so happy I finally have a friend")

He also struggles socially, as is a requirement for autistic people to qualify for a diagnosis. Kieran specifically has a hard time reading social cues, he struggles with making eye contact, he has clear anxiety when talking to people as proven by his little stutter he has at times.

He also struggles with social and emotional processing (and might have alexithymia as well due to his sudden huge outbursts of emotion), and he also struggles with initiating conversation as well, as seen when he tries to talk to Penny at the League Club. They both have no idea how to even start a conversation with each other and it's honestly pretty adorable seeing the two quiet adorkable kids trying their best to hold conversation. I get it, you two, initiating conversation is really difficult for me too.

Also the way they try to start the conversation by talking about the weather...that's really funny and ironic to me because that's what NTs do all the time. NTs always use the weather as a small-talk conversation starter but NDs like me (and Kieran and Penny too apparently) just don't get that stuff.

(These two are so neurodivergent it's great and I love them both 🥺)

Kieran also has four in-game animations that I personally see as stimming. The first one is him tapping his fist against his hip when he's thinking or nervous.

(Focus your attention to his hand here and you'll see it.)

The second one is him playing with a strand of loose hair, usually when he's nervous.

(The little nervous side glance at the player is relatable and adorable 🥺)

The third one is a more agitated stim that he only does ONCE in the entire game...and that is tapping the front of his foot on the ground. I do that myself when I'm agitated or impatient, somehow it's comforting, especially since for some reason I really like the way my shoes sound when I tap them on the ground... especially since I got my brand new Infernape-themed shoes, they sound extra satisfying because they're brand new.

(This is not the way most people tap their foot...I've never seen an NT do it like this...only other NDs such as myself and one of my brothers)

The fourth and final one is, unfortunately, a stress stim...Kieran runs his hands very fast through his hair and it also looks like, to me anyway as someone who has self-injurious stims myself, that he is digging his nails into his scalp as well while doing that. I do something similar myself, though on top of running my hands through my hair and digging my nails into my scalp, I also pull at my hair...yeah... self-injurious stims are no joke...and I'm kinda glad Kieran's autism coding brings attention to that aspect of autism...at least in my eyes as someone who does those things myself.

(He's in so much stress here, poor kid 😔)

Another aspect of autism that I'm surprised and kinda glad that Kieran exhibits as an autistic-coded character is meltdowns and shutdowns. Kieran has actual meltdowns in the game! This is something we have never seen in such an in-your-face way in any Pokémon game, and as someone who regularly has meltdowns myself, it hit me in the feels whenever I saw him having them. His first meltdown is in the Teal Mask when he steals the Teal Mask and runs off to Loyalty Plaza where he battles the player. He yells at Carmine and the player for treating him like an outcast...which is unfortunately something that happens to a lot of autistic people, myself included. Kieran screams at the player and Carmine for for lying to him while doing his stress stim, before running up to the Lousy Three's shrine and punching it, without any regard for his safety, which is also something autistic people may do during meltdowns...I know I have no regard for my safety during mine. After that's all over he gives the mask back to the player and goes home, leaving the player to talk to Carmine alone, who says that she's worried and thinks it's just "teen angst". When I saw that I was like, "...Uh, Carmine...I don't think it's just that, I think your brother is neurodivergent and really needs a lot of help and support because he's struggling a lot right now..."

His second meltdown is also in the Teal Mask, when he wants Ogerpon to go with him but Ogerpon wants to go with the player...Kieran can't process that and doesn't understand how to take Ogerpon's feelings into account, instead demanding the player to battle him for the right to be Ogerpon's partner. He collapses on all fours after being defeated again, and it gets worse...he looks like he's crying while the player battles Ogerpon in order to catch her. After the player catches her, Kieran wonders why he can't be like the player, and runs off crying, locking himself in his room for the rest of the story. The end of the Teal Mask has him doing his stress stim while being consumed by a new special interest in a very detrimental way...that interest being becoming so strong that no one can defeat him...including the player.

Kieran's third meltdown is in the Indigo Disk, after the player defeats him in the championship match. That meltdown is a full-on cutscene, where it is CLEAR to see his spiraling mental state through the visuals, and he holds his hands on his head like he has a headache while trying to process the fact that he lost to the player AGAIN (which is also relatable as someone who struggles with processing difficulties myself...it really does give headaches and it is one of the worst feelings when I just can't process what's going on around me or the emotions I feel or anything really)...he collapses to his knees and looks like he's breathing very hard as he is so upset and distressed at this loss. It is definitely one of the most heartbreaking scenes for me because this is a CLEAR CUT MELTDOWN in my eyes and it hits me in the feels like a TRUCK to watch that cutscene.

Also, in the Terapagos fight, Kieran has a bit of a shutdown for a bit, standing there frozen, thinking he's useless and can't do anything right (which is relatable as I have regular shutdowns as well, and I also constantly feel like I'm a failure of a human being who can't do anything right)...but let me tell you, when the player finally gets him to snap out of it and convinces him to help and he opens his eyes revealing that the light is back in his eyes as well as visible tears...I cheered (and teared up myself). My boy was back, and I was so happy.

(When I first saw the tears I was like, "NOOOO don't cry Kieran! 😢)

Also in the Indigo Disk, Kieran seems completely different and "no longer like his usual self". His autistic traits are (mostly) nowhere to be seen as he becomes much more serious, angry, assertive,and aggressive. I personally see this as a persona he puts on by masking, which is common for autistic people to do. I myself can't mask, but Kieran definitely seems to be masking here by putting on this persona in order to get stronger and seem stronger as a person as well. This is NOT his real self, this is a FACADE!

We see him start to drop the mask again in Area Zero when he says it seems like they're in a spy movie or something and how cool that is, but once the crack in his mask is pointed out he immediately puts it back on.

After everything in the under depths ends, and you go back to Blueberry Academy, he drops the mask again completely, and goes back to his real, adorkable, relatable self...and stays that way from then on, which made me so relieved and happy.

(This is my favorite cutscene in the entire DLC because of how adorable it is and also how neurodivergent Kieran is being here while apologizing for all he did 🥺)

In conclusion, I think Kieran is a great example of an autistic-coded character who has many relatable traits, and also does a good job showcasing some of the more "unpleasant and challenging behaviors and traits" (NTs use that terminology a lot, not me... that's how NTs unfortunately view NDs a lot of the time) of autism. I used to be afraid of him during the post-Teal Mask pre-Indigo Disk era but that was my trauma and PTSD talking (I talked about the emotional rollercoaster Kieran's story arc took me on in another post from last year after I finally worked up the courage to play the Indigo Disk...feel free to check that out too if you'd like). Now though I can wholeheartedly say that I love and appreciate Kieran a lot as a character, and his relatability is definitely a big part of why he is a big comfort character for me now (please Pokémon put him in Pokémon Masters EX, PLEASE I will literally cry from joy if he gets added to the game)!

Arven stuttering in the phone call over wanting to hang out at my house, getting flustered when Nemona and Penny tag along because he wanted to hang out alone? Ohohohoh this is why I ship him with my character lol

Penny makes a very... interesting comment about the player's mom. My brain went from "hehe Penny gay confirm" to "PENNY IS A MILF LOVER?"

Let's get one thing out of the way first: Mikey will always place number 1, he's your top priority. If you want something, like to go outside, you go and ask Mikey first. If you genuinely want cuddles Mikey should be your first choice if he's there. Sure maybe one of the other executives found you first, but if Mikey falls for you too that's that; he's number 1, number 2 and 3 are the privileges for the others.

You're not allowed to breath most of the times, Sanzu's overbearing personality and Kakucho's over protectiveness suffocate you to death, Mikey is his own breed as he never tears his eyes off you, even to blink! Though Kakucho's leniency for your happiness cancels some of Sanzu's strict rules and scolding.

Ran and Rindou are always there to provide some sort of activity for you, they make sure you never stay in one place too long. Mochi is like scary dog privileges together with Kakucho, they're your unofficial bodyguards that are on watch 24/7 whenever you go out. But they're a duo that actually let's you have fun and let your leash loose.

Koko and Takeomi are a nice break, they usually just let you just hang around while they work yet they're also the most demanding. Koko always wanting you to wear what he buys and Takeomi just wanting your attention and affection at all cost.

They shower you in gifts, affection basically everything but freedom. A negative is that their hugs are always so tight, your clothes and diet are controlled by them, their kisses always linger for too long, you're always marked with something whether be it clothes, collars or hickeys, not to mention having to deal with the punishments that befall you when you deny them something -depending on the person-

'So how did we come to this.' You thought to yourself, actually, it was hard to even think with the atmosphere in the room. It was suppose to be a normal meeting between the executives and they let you attend because you all were going to go home right after yet Sanzu, like a dumbass, started a brag about how you were Bonten's precious gem, then he said "Now you just need the tattoo." Like you were an animal that was ready to be branded... Everyone assumed Mikey would choose the place where your tattoo was suppose to be, then Mikey presented them with the gasoline to start the fire:

"Wherever they want."

Then they started to argue, yeah that's right, the executives didn't ASK you where you wanted the tattoo. You weren't allowed to pick it as they would be picking for you.

"Can't I choose it?" You sighed out, a little irritated, all eyes turned to you and there was no sound made for a few seconds before Ran lightly laughed at your suggestion "Darling, don't be ridiculous, this is an important decision. You can't just choose it by yourself." And Koko followed suit with a few words of his own "Exactly, it needs to be meaningful. So sit there and let us handle it for you.."

Unfortunately you were sat on Mikey's lap, you didn't want to know what would happen if you just got up and walked away.

Then they started throwing verbal insults and suggesting places they liked the tattoo to be on.

"They should get one on the front of their neck like us! It's a very visible place and everyone can tell at a glance who they belong to." Rindou scoffed in annoyance, glaring at Sanzu who sat right infront of him, the pink haired male stood up and slammed his hands on the table "Fuck off Rindou! They should match with me! I'm the one who's keeping them in check while you and Ran might as well get [Y/N] lost one of these days because of how much you like to run around!"

"Hate to say it but Sanzu is right, if I wasn't with them last time we went out you two would've lost [Y/N] in the alleyways in the middle of the night." Mochi added with a scoff, rolling his eyes "Shows how much you care about them..." Kakucho mumbled to himself in a growl, mismatched eyes narrowing to glare at the two brothers.

"The fuck did you just say!? You're talking like [Y/N] has a blast around you when instead they seem miserable as soon as you enter the room!" Now Rindou stood up, only thing holding him back from punching one of the three was Ran having a light grip on his arm and pulling Rindou to sit down again, yet the older brother's whimsical smile was strained from the annoying accusations "Why don't we relax? [Y/N] doesn't need to have their tattoo on the same exact place as ours." Ran's carefree smile stretched to a light smirk, swiftly changing the subject "Why don't we make them get it on their thigh hmm?~ Maybe inner thigh specifically." Now Rindou, Mochi and Sanzu both stood quiet as they imagined that.

"Or their lower back, that'd be a nice sight as well." Takeomi joined in with a dark chuckle "Or their chest right in the middle." Mochi added in and Kakucho immediately was at attention on that "Maybe on the left side."

"Oh so it can be in the same place as yours huh!?"

"Sanzu, shut the fuck up." Koko sighed in annoyances "... I hate to say it, but while I do like Ran's, Takeomi's and Kanji's ideas, you do realize the tattoo artist would have to see them take their shirt and pants off." The long white haired male explained and had the others dumbfounded for a few seconds "... Maybe we can give them the tattoo ourselves then." Mochi suggested and Rindou, shaking his brother's hand off, immediately stood up and walked off.

"And where are you going?" Sanzu snarled and followed after him "Gonna search up a wiki how on how to do a tattoo." Before Rindou could even touch the doorknob Sanzu grabbed him by the back of the shirt, tugging at his hair on the process and dragged him back.

"No you won't! I will!"

"Bitch go right ahead! Your dumbass wouldn't even know how to if you tried learning it for a year!"

"Sanzu let my brother go."

"And what are you going to do if I don't!? Just stand there stupidly like Mochi and Kakucho do!?"

"Oh so you want your ass to get beaten today huh you pink bitch!?"

"You ain't gonna do shit Mochi!"

"Rindou stop whining over your stretched blazer, I can smell it's cheapness from here so there won't be a problem when you get another one."

Ran's smile was etched on his face but the look on his eyes was cold as he glanced at Kakucho who stole you away.

"Let them breath, you've just come back and you're already overwhelming them." The scarred man glared sternly at Ran, his hands on your shoulders. Kakucho's grip on you tightened a little before he let you go "Are you alright?"

"Enough of this bullshit. Quit wasting their time." And just like before you were stolen away yet again. Sanzu placing you to sit on the couch and immediately sitting next to you, throwing an arm around your shoulder and pulling you closer to his chest "Did you feel lonely without us?~" Sanzu's lips stretched into a grin as he awated your obvious answer.

Did I?~" The question caused Sanzu to flinch and glare at you, you reaching up to playfully pinch his cheeks, making Sanzu grumble and pout in annoyance "Obviously not." Takeomi mumbled as he sat on your other side "That would mean I didn't miss you either Omi."

Takeomi turned to stare at you and sighed seeing your smile "My bad." You giggled and playfully threw both your arms around their necks, hugging them close. The brothers glaring at eachother while laying their heads on your chest "Of course I was lonely without you! I was just teasing~"

"Well you gotta stop teasing like that." You lifted your head up to see Koko looking down at you, his white hair tickling the side of your face from how close he had leaned down to look at you "I really didn't mean it though." You huffed, to which Koko couldn't help but to lean down further and kiss your forehead.

"I told you to quit fighting so loudly..."

They all stopped once seeing Mikey had entered the room as well, silence overcame the previous fighting as Mikey walked towards you, Sanzu and Takeomi.

"Move." Mikey ordered the two, eye lids lowering to an annoyed glare which caused Takeomi and Sanzu to quickly stand up and remove their hands from you. Mikey then turned his stare at you and you smiled back at him, ignoring the light blood soaking his clothes "Welcome back Manjiro~" You opened you arms and without hesitation Mikey gave into your embrace. Sitting next to you to where his thigh touched your thigh, hugging your waist with his head lying on your shoulder.
