little ramble about the mobility aid market, which is--as I am disappointed but not surprised to find--pretty terrible.
After being advised by a few people on this post to try out a mobility aid for fatigue I’ve started searching around for forearm crutches (I have no clue whether I’ll actually try it or if it would even help me since my big issue is fatigue and not mobility, but would like to know my options if I do) and it’s kinda ridiculous how few options there are for platform crutches? M+D crutches seem pretty good but they’re too expensive for me to feel like trying when I don’t even know if they’d help, and I’m only able to find like... MAYBE three other brands besides for platform crutches, all of which are also expensive and none of which are collapsible like many non-platform forearm crutches. I’ve thought about getting a collapsible cane but I don’t know how my hypermobile wrists would like that (and that also seems like it wouldn’t help as much for the fatigue), hence why I was looking at platform crutches which provide more weight-bearing support. sigh.

If my bones went on strike, I'd just say, "Yeah, that's reasonable," and then find a way to make living conditions easier, but alas, I am broke and have very limited access to basically everything

Finally putting my Stardew Valley AU on paper.
Hargrave is obviously in the place of Klint, the war veteran who arrives after the farmer. In this version, Hargrave's discharge is due to injury and unfounded (and untrue) suspicion of leaking secrets. Not the way this lifelong military man thought his illustrious career would end.
But after recovery, and aided by the understanding and companionship of the farmer, he discovers community life has its merits too, and dedicates his leadership experience to rallying the town in support of the efforts to restore the Community Center. Perhaps there is still more he can offer, even when his original source of pride has been entirely squashed.

The plan was to Make Actual Lunch, and Do Laundry, but instead I used up literally my entire burst of energy on going down the street and buying a pumpkin pie of all things, which I don't even feel like eating??? Huh?? The first 20 minutes in like a month that I don't feel Completely Out Of It, and this is how I use my one decision-making braincell.

i am a firm believer in the prosthetic leg bart agenda ( he got shot point blank in the knee with a shotgun that leg is gone dude) and i have such an urge to draw him in a wheelchair or using a cane or smt while his leg is off.

I'm getting a mobility aid!!!
My disability lawyer asked if I was considering any aids such as a walker, and trying to be as honest with my lawyer as possible I said I was going to discuss a wheelchair with my doctor. My mom was there listening and after the call she said we don't even have to wait for a doctor we can buy it ourself—within a reasonable price for our small income of course. Side note: I also took a plunge and bought migraine specific glasses and I'm so glade I did!
My fears of my mom finding it ridiculous where just unfounded, as my fears quite often are with my mom. They represent my own insecurities not her actions and true nature. With her desire to help me with the process any judgment from the rest of my family will be much easier to handle and explain (or ignore).
Praise to gracious Epione soother of pain. Praise to beautiful Iaso processor of healing. Praise to Damu skilled in chasing out pain. And utmost gratitude to you skilled medic Asklepios, glorious Apollo Paian, and the glowing Ninisina Gula.
As well as reverence to you shining Utu of justice, for giving me the strength to be able to answer my lawyer truthfully, even with my mom in the room.
I am truly grateful to all health deities I worship and all deities who give me strength. Loving the Gods and seeing them in something as "mundane" as a mobility aid makes them feel so close to me.
Also special thanks to @crazycatsiren & @helvetica12point for de-stigmatizing mobility aids for me. And all my other closest friends for their immense support— you know who you are.

(Non-animal animatronics turned organic anon) I'm glad you'r fine with It, I was worried my previous ask was coming off as criticism for something that as far as I know you already figured It out.
Also If you don't mind suggestions maybe you could have the daycare attendants new forms look like their previous form but organic, for example their head would be wide instead of a faceplate, the rays resembling petals, their nose pointed in the middle instead on their right, the cracks replaced by scars, and their missing foot... Well It's still missing and Its now a stub, those boys need a prosthetic leg, or crutches, or a wheelchair? Again this is just a suggestion so you don't have to write them like that If you don't want to and instead stick to the anthropomorphic animal idea.
Interesting suggestion!! Not sure what I'll do in the end. We'll see when I get there I suppose ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
And yeah some kind of crutches for them at least. The Meteor isn't erasing disabilities at all, meaning your attendant keeps the missing foot! I'll have to look up specifically foot amputee accessibility needs since it's been a while since I looked up stuff for leg amputees and I don't know if that'll be exactly the same anyway, but yeah! Forgot about that so thanks for the reminder!!!
I was thinking the physical changes between the three could also be like a chamelon? Just fades into the right shades and stuff? I dunno really. They could be a cyborg of sorts, giving them the ability to eat and what not, but still retain things like the spinning rays and stuff. That could be fun. Dunno how I'd do that, but we'll see!
There's plenty of options for them and I dunno where it'll all fall when I get there, so it's like a mystery for all of us I guess lmao

Got my second set of legs today, they definitely make up for the first set being unreliable, but also I just remembered why I didn't get crutches last year. They're obliterating my wrists.
