Adrien was done with Chloe and Lila.
In "Protection", as Lila lies to Kagami, she makes up the lie about experiencing a tragic heartbreak in a previous romantic relationship she once had, saying that the boy she once loved had made the decision to no longer see her. Lila has lied about many things and although we know Lila is lying to Kagami about a past romantic relationship, it's not uncommon for some of her lies to end up being twisted versions of reality.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The "boy" Lila is talking about who left her in so much pain, is obviously Adrien since he is the only boy she has had eyes for since her first introduction in "Volpina". So, perhaps something did happened between her and Adrien, and that something might have occurred not long after Adrien made the decision to end his friendship with Chloe back in "Derision"
Tumblr media Tumblr media
In "Derision", as Adrien silently walked away from Chloe, a lot of things must have been running through his mind as he thought about everything in his life and the life he had with Chloe (more here), but among those thoughts, he might have also begun questioning the one other thing that reminded him of his decision to end a friendship with someone, and that was his reasoning for staying friends with the only other person he knew would, and did, hurt the people he loved, Lila.
At the start of the series, Adrien had made attempts to be patient with Lila and her deceitful nature, why? Because no matter how much of a liar Adrien realized Lila was, after learning she was not a descendent of a superhero or saved by Ladybug, part of him could not help but hope that maybe Lila could eventually come around and realize her lies would not give her the life she wanted and would eventually turn others against her rather than give her the connections he thought she was searching for, to give her the love and attention he thought she needed. To Adrien, Lila had the potential to be good just as much as anyone, but she would never learn to be good so long as there were others who would attempt to expose her and humiliate her in front of others.
(in "Chameleon", Adrien questions Marinette if her attempts to expose Lila in front of everyone was a good idea as doing so would only humiliate and hurt Lila more, pushing her away from following a better path for herself.)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Adrien remembered the way Lila reacted when Ladybug exposed her back in "Volpina", to see Lila cry the way she did after being humiliated made him feel a sense of sympathy as he determined Lila was nothing more than someone who craved attention.
Tumblr media
(Adrien explains his views of Lila in "Oni-chan", believing she was not dangerous and only craved attention)
Tumblr media
At the start, Adrien genuinely believed Lila was not dangerous and just needed someone to trust and confide in, someone who would be willing to offer her a helping hand and be that person she could rely on, and he for one was more than willing to be up for the task so long as she was willing to be honest with him. However, over time, Adrien would learn just how dangerous Lila was, the more he saw the full extent of her lies, but more than anything, Adrien would also learn how his kindness for her fooled him into believing she was someone else entirely.
In "Oni-chan", Adrien did not appreciate Lila deceiving Nathalie and his bodyguard as he knew they would suffer consequences from his father, but despite this, he would later feel hopeful in seeing Lila show a sense of (fake)vulnerability as she clung to Ladybug and expressed how she understood heroes like them were only trying to help her, but it was precisely this moment of potential good that led Adrien to build his understanding of Lila and further imagine the type of person she was, as well as what she could do for herself in the future.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
To see Lila have a more positive attitude towards Ladybug amidst Oni-chan's relentless pursuit, was more than enough for him to believe that Lila was coming around and learning that she could rely on others if she was willing to set aside her ways and open up as a more truthful person, that she really was just a girl who needed a little kindness and guidance her way.
(In "Oni-chan", Cat Noir really thought Lila was coming around to accepting Ladybug, a sign that Lila had made steps to being a better person)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Unfortunately, through that one little moment of watching Lila express a sense of "good", Adrien formed a positive view of Lila which had blinded him to the reality of her deceit, all the while he was amidst a fight against Oni-chan. Ladybug knew what Lila was capable of, she knew how much Lila could deceive others because Lila told her in "Chameleon" just how far she was willing to go to ruin another person's life if they did not fall under the line she had set and let her continue to live out the life she had built around her lies.
(Marinette/Ladybug saw Lila for who she was, a bad person).
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Adrien on the other hand, could not see the same truth Ladybug saw because it was in his nature to see the good in everyone, to love everyone just as much as they were willing to love him, but the good he believed he saw in Lila was something he wanted to believe Lila would prioritize for herself, however, Lila had no such plans to do so regardless of understanding the harm her lies could cause.
(Lila is perfectly aware of her actions and the lies she is telling other people )
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Still, regardless of what Lila did during "Oni-chan" and "Ladybug", Adrien was still not willing to end their friendship, why? Because no matter how cruel Lila appeared to be, Adrien did not have the heart to leave someone, not when he still held out hope that things could change for the better, which is why he didn't officially end his friendship with Chloe back in "Queen Banana", even after he watched her continued cruel actions towards the others over the year.
(Despite their actions in "Ladybug" and "Queen Banana", Adrien could not bring himself to end his friendship with Lila and Chloe and only reminded them of the possibility of doing so if they did not fix what they caused and stopped their ways. Regardless if they did or didn’t, he held out hope they would listen to him and do as he asked, because they we’re friends)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
And yet, in some ways, it was as if Adrien thought he understood Lila and her desperation for attention from others, because he too had experienced life where he was all alone and in desperate need of others' attention. Adrien grew up being isolated from the rest of the world, devoid of interacting with others his age.
Sure, he had Chloe growing up, but it was precisely his experience in having just one person in his life to talk to that made him believe it would be all the difference in others like Lila who had no one. However, to Adrien, it would also be all the more painful if Lila ever lost someone like him who was willing to listen to her. After he became Cat Noir, Adrien even understood what it was like living a life surrounded by lies, lies he knew would hurt him and the good people around him, but was something he would not need to continue in the future if he found ways to improved things for himself, and so odds are, Adrien thought Lila felt the same way, but as we all know, she didn't.
Much like Chloe, Adrien believed Lila's toxic behavior was temporary, that somehow, he could help change her. Adrien never stopped trying to hold out hope that Lila would eventually realize the harm she was causing and learn to make positive changes, all things he had also thought of when it came to facing Chloe. But the more Adrien saw Chloe and Lila continue to fall back into their ways, the more he began to question Lila and Chloe, their actions and whether or not they actually wanted to hold true to their word, to their apologies, as well as their promises and commit to the hard work and sacrifice of bettering themselves, but more than that, Adrien had to question whether or not his kindness and loyalty actually meant anything to them.
After learning the full extent to Chloe's bullying in "Derision" and knowing that Lila had already succeeded in ruining Marinette's life and reputation in "Ladybug", Adrien had to face the cruel reality of his friendship with Lila and Chloe, as well as his attempts to salvage his friendship with them, time and time again, and the reality of it all was that his friendship with the two of them was not like the friendships he had with the others, it had become toxic and one sided.
Things he believed Lila and Chloe would never do, were things he would not do himself and only assumed others had the good sense to do the same, but Lila and Chloe had every intention to continue doing what they did, why? Because they did not see the world the same way Adrien did, and to them, they were entitled to more than others and felt justified for much of what they did.
Adrien had tried to understand how Lila and Chloe felt and thought, but in many ways, those thoughts and feelings were his, not theirs. He tried to find the reason behind their actions, but in many ways, he believed their reasons would be the same as his if he was in their position, but they weren't, their reasons were their own and they took joy for much of what they did, even when they knew it was not morally right in the eyes of others like Adrien.
Tumblr media
In the end, as Adrien faced Chloe in Derision and heard her talk about her views of the world (more here), he did not give the same approach he would always give, because for the first time in a long time, Adrien did not see Chloe through his eyes, he saw Chloe through her eyes and understood that no matter what his hopes and expectations were, no matter what opportunities he and others were willing to offer and no matter how much time and dedication he was willing to give, he could not expect another person to decide the path he believed was best for them, they had to decide for themselves if they would take it, and that is exactly what he had to think about when it came to Lila, he had to look at Lila through her own eyes and understand her for who she was, not who he had imagined she would become if he stayed with her long enough.
In one little moment with Chloe in "Derision", Adrien knew he had a choice to make, should he allow one sided friendships with people like Chloe and Lila to continue? To live a life where he would only have brief moments of hope over the possibility that maybe the two could one day give up their ways, as he continued to watch from the sidelines knowing they felt they were entitled to hurt Marinette and others the moment they did something again, OR set his boundaries and stick to them, say enough was enough.
Adrien told Chloe as far back as "Despair bear" that he could not be friends with someone who was cruel to others, he told Lila as far back as "Oni-chan" that she could always rely on him as a friend, but not if she hurt the people he loved.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
The day Adrien ended his friendship with Chloe, was likely the day he also decided to end his friendship with Lila, he was done with both of them as he understood that although anyone can change, not everyone wanted to, some people are who they are, and not even he could change that.

We all know Gabriel is a heartless bastard regardless of how he likes to see himself as a tragic villain just doing everything he can to get his family back, but I really hate the new levels of hypocrisy he is reaching as of Protection and Emotion.
When questioned about dating Marinette, Adrien point-blank reminded his father he and Emilie came from different worlds too, which judging by the Fathom/Graham de Vanily background and Audrey explicitly saying back in Miracle Queen it was thanks to her Gabriel ever became who he is, seems to hint at Emilie being the rich girl while Gabriel was middle class at best. And yet he is hating on Adrienette just because Marinette isn't part of his creepy, magic-fuelled eugenics rich club.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
And if that weren't bad enough, there's also the very heavy implications that both Tomoe and Gabriel explicitly created Adrien and Kagami with the intention of the two becoming an item.
Tumblr media
Which is just plain wrong for a plethora of reasons, but for now let's settle on the fact that, while he clearly got to be with his one true love and for whom he claims to have become a literal terrorist, from the moment Adrien was born he deliberately chose to refuse giving his son a chance to experience real love by himself.
Tumblr media
Seriously, this coming from the guy whose main motivation is supposed to be bring his beloved wife and mother of his child back is just revolting. And then people wonder why I cared more about the effect cataclysming Monarch had on Chat than the fact that Gabriel's body is literally being destroyed little by little...

MLB SEASON 6 FELINETTE'S BIG TRACK IN JEREMY ZAG'S VIDEO (new Miraculous scenarios via Instagram) ANALYSIS AND FELINETTE CLUES FOR S6 PART 4 marinette's balcony : THE CHAIR.
PART 3 : THE BALLS AND color symbology
Tumblr media
3 THE CHAIR: LET'S TALK about the chair or lounger that Marinette always has on her balcony, it has undergone changes, so let's go in parts. Let's talk first about its use both in the first seasons and in the last ones and then about its design
use SEASON 1-5
A lounge chair is a place to lie down and rest, relax, however, if we see in detail all the Miraculous seasons from 1 to 5 including all the specials and others MARINETTE HAS NEVER USED IT, and there are no excuses, she has He occasionally uses the wooden stools he has where the tea is, the little table, even the balls are on when it's night, but he has never used the lounger, does this mean something? Well, it clearly means that at no point in the series has Marinette felt calm, and this is a fact, right? As the chapters progress, we can see how she was increasingly pressured and stressed, this is mainly due to her role as a guardian.
Tumblr media
So is there anyone who has used it? AJA plagg in the kwami buster chapter.
Tumblr media
And why is this chapter characterized? Because of two things in particular, the danger of identities and the role as guardian, we can see how in this chapter, the identity of the two is in danger to such an extent that two neurons function. And if you wonder if Marinette is Ladybug, so she does everything to create an alibi and thus divert attention.
Tumblr media
This shows that she clearly lives stressed 24/7 due to the danger of her secret identity (which will lead to her ruin) but also in this chapter she proves to be a guardian and carrier with a lot of potential, to the point of holding a lot of miraculous and endure the enormous power, thus demonstrating that she has a lot of talent and potential but that it exhausts her in her civilian life due to all the responsibilities that it entails.
Tumblr media
So, these are clues between now and season 6 that she will burst, and will need support (something we discuss a lot in these analyses, right?) What support? Félix as chatnoir, Where's the Clue? In it she said that PLAGG IS THE ONE WHO RESTS ON THAT CHAIR, COME ON, THE SOLUTION TO THIS IS GOING TO BE FOR FÉLIX TO HAVE THE MIRACULOUS AND NOT ADRIEN.
use SEASON 6.7 ETC..
Here things change and the first thing we see in the sequence is Marinette lying down, with the book on her face, resting, sleeping? The point is that here you can see that she uses it and she is relaxed, let's look at the pose.
Tumblr media
It is the same pose as the one FU IN SANDBOY had, this indicates that in S6 onwards, she will experience certain events that, as we have already said in a previous post, will make her mature, and of course she will become wiser, she will end up finding balance in his life, and also peace, he will know how to organize himself and will grow, he will be a great guardian. We remember that FU had a great trauma that weighed on him because of what he did in the temple, however he knew how to find peace in his life and balance, and move forward protecting the box with all her knowledge, she will overcome it.
but of course in this process she will not be alone, Félix will help her on an emotional level, remember that if you read my posts, THROUGH FU THEY TALK TO US ABOUT FELIX
Tumblr media
so there is the clue, but also, Marinette is asleep with a book, this element is represented by Felix, since he loves reading.
Tumblr media
Marinette will, let's say, be able to rest in Félix from her duties as guardian, he will be her assistant and will help her in various tasks, which will make her suffer less.
-SEASON 1-5 DESIGN
Let's talk about the design, those pink and white lines are references to the character ROSE.
Tumblr media
THROUGH ROSE THEY TELL US ABOUT ADULT MARINETTE, what do we know about her? Well, she is a girl of pure goodness and is seriously ill.
here we have SEVERAL big clues about the future of MARINETTE S9 onwards, if 9 not S6, TO START, THIS WILL POSSIBLY BE THE DESIGN THAT MARINETTE WILL HAVE WHEN SHE IS AN ADULT, NOTE THAT ROSE PHYSICALLY LOOKS LIKE MARINETTE EXCEPT FOR THE HAIR, WHAT DID WE DO? SAID PREVIOUS POST? that she would dye you blonde, it is possible that in the future she would even cut it, because in THOMAS' conceptual art we saw a ladybug with very short hair,
Tumblr media
SHE ALSO WILL LOSE HER MEMORY, THIS WOULD BE A CONFIRMATION THAT FÉLIX WOULD TAKE CARE OF HER WHEN SHE LOSES HER MEMORY.
Now, as for her way of being, it goes without saying that she sees goodness in everything, she sees life in pink, which would not speak of Marinette's maturity, of seeing love in everything, of her complete healing as it was given to her. understand in the inverse special.
Tumblr media
This is a spoiler for the final result of the evolution that Marinette will have, she will heal and see love in everything, it will be pure love (like Rose and her way of seeing life)
Now for that she will give herself her place, as we have said, she will focus on herself, self-love and goals, which is why the sunbed is also pink and white, its colors, which are in all her clothing design and sewing and drawing objects. Now look at the order of shades of pink, it goes from the lightest to the darkest or strongest as if the presence were powerful, for me that tells us about its process and evolution, that is, as we see the chapters and seasons the urgency By focusing on herself she will be more POWERFUL, there will come a time when she will have to change.
-SEASON DESIGN 6.7 ETC..
The chair is SKY BLUE. Who does this color belong to? aha to bunnix,
Tumblr media
(looks dark due to poor quality)
Bunnix is a vital piece in the series, she makes sure that all events happen as they should, she protects the future, and returns to the past if something does not happen as it should, but THIS COLOR ALSO TALKS TO US ABOUT FÉLIX , and it does it through bunnix.
Tumblr media
What do you want to tell us? that in the future, Marinette will look more rested, thanks to Félix.
It will be like a burrow where she can go and Félix will be the tender bunny who will make that burrow and will protect it and take care of it.
Felinette would be confirming to us in the future, that would justify why Bunnix doesn't like Chatnoir, because he knows that Chatnoir is Adrien, and the damage he will do to MARINETTE in all aspects, because of how crazy he is.
IT IS POSSIBLE THAT IN S6 bunnix will appear again and give us clues that in the future the felinette will be insured.
SUMMARY: IN S6 ONWARDS FELIX WILL BE THE CORNER WHERE MARINETTE TAKES AWAY FROM HER DUTIES AS A GUARDIAN, HE WILL HELP HER REST AND RELAX, HE WILL RELIEVE THAT BURDEN, BECAUSE HE WILL KNOW ALL HER SECRETS, he will also be in charge of taking care of her when she loses her memory.
thank you for all your likes and reblogs and support you give me

So this an analysis of a song as it pertains to Jesse and Mundy and their relationship as of Chapter 13. Warning I get... massively in-depth about this. Blessing of braintrot. I did this instead of writing. 😅
The song is Oklahoma Smokeshow by Zach Bryan.
Go on and put on that dress that all the bad boys like I know your daddy ain't home so ride with me tonight You always wind up here in a puddle of tears
Just them tbh. Jess is staunchly against dresses (and skirts!) but for this one day she says fuck it and wears a skirt (to impress Mundy of all things). Meanwhile, Charles is recovering from his whole incident, so it's not like he's able to stop her. These verses can be seen as Mundy acknowledging that despite his plans for the night and how much he's going to devote himself to protecting Jess, they're still in Vegas, Jess is still probably gonna get pissed, and she's gonna be even more Jess. This can be seen as him saying "Ok, go ahead and doll up, there's nothing in our way tonight, we can have some fun and you can act a little crazy and I'll be there to pick up there inevitable pieces when shit hits the fan."
Them boys are out and they're angry and they're looking for blood In the back of a blue old pickup truck You got nowhere to go although you're all gussied up
Not really applicable unless you consider the Valley Vultures, but that's not that big of a deal and Jess also wasn't dressed up them.
There's so much whisky in his coke it'll make her nose bend
The first hint that Jesse gets that Mundy hasn't quite kicked his alcoholism is when he lets her have a sip of his Hemingway champagne and she tastes how strong it is. Mundy doesn't drink soft spirits--he doesn't do wine or spritzers or light cocktails, though he does like beer. Mundy drinks hard liquor--whisky, bourbon, brandy, absinthe. This man drinks bushshine. He drinks to get drunk and forget. Small vices kill your big dreams.
But she swears that his love is a damn Godsend She's known God since she was a child
Jess is Catholic, was raised Catholic, and is very much of the "everything happens as god's intention" variety. She's also of the "but sometimes shit just happens" variety. She's not sure what category Mundy falls in, but she's happy enough with him that she thinks it's the former.
She used to play in the yard and she would dream of one day Till the world came around and took her dreaming away Told her how to dress and act and smile
100% Jesse. The world that came and took her dreams--her aspirations of a baseball career--were largely things she couldn't control (such as MLB not allowing female players). This, coupled with her mother insisting that Jess be a proper lady, is what led to her rebelling and joining the boy's baseball team and going stealth. Even when she was discovered it was mostly alright, but Donovan persisted and that's where things fell apart.
She's an Oklahoma smokeshow
Ok neither of them are from Oklahoma but let's be honest, they're both smokeshows. For Jess: Mundy especially thinks this when he finally sees Jess gussied up. For Mundy: Jess is just always thinking this all the time.
He's an asshole from back home
For Mundy: "Back home" as in rural Outback NSW. And let's be honest, he is a little bit of an arsehole. For Jess: This lyric actually fits better for her than him. For Mundy, when he says he's from Tilpa, he has to explain where exactly Tilpa is each and every time. Curse of coming from the outskirts of a town with a population of 15 on the banks of the Darling. But for Jess, "back home" is simply saying "New York." She doesn't even need to say the name of the city itself because there's no confusion between the city and the state. Also Jess is an arsehole at times. Most the time, even.
She'll never make it out alive From that small town bar scene Where small vices kill your big dreams
Whatever dreams either of them had--Mundy of being someone his parents could be proud to say was their son, Jess and her baseball career--are squashed the moment these two stepped foot on the paths that eventually led them to Teufort. And they're both trapped in this small town, where small vices--corruption, greed, lust, cruelty, callousness, arrogance, cowardice--have killed their big dreams. And it's Teufort--there's a fair chance that neither of them are ever leaving TF Industries alive. This job's for life.
He'd take you home but he's too drunk to drive
This has two meanings. One, you can look at it from the perspective of chapter 13, where Mundy is quite literally too drunk to make a return drive to New Mexico and so the pair stay in Las Vegas for the night and fuckstart a relationship. Or two, you can look at it from a perspective of Mundy wanting Jess to be happy and how his vices get in the way of that. You can bet that if Jess ever expressed her secret desire to just go home to her mum and leave Teufort behind that Mundy would make the drive to bring her home in a heartbeat--if he could keep the muzzle on his alcoholism for that long.
I've been here, I've been up all night Thinking 'bout a life with you and I One you'll never know cuz you're a small town smokeshow
This applies to both of them. Both Jesse and Mundy are of the belief that things would never work out between them because of their differences. Jesse loves where she grew up, and Mundy can't handle cities. Mundy loves the bush, and it's fair to say that Jesse wouldn't survive out there without constant supervision.
Both of them stay up at night imagining what their lives would be like if they could just find some middle ground that both find acceptable, but Mundy doesn't do well outside of Australia for too long, and Jess seems to have similar luck outside of the States (looking at the Italy incident) in addition to seeing Australia as some mystical land full of dangerous things (she's not far off, but Mundy doesn't appreciate it).
These two both know that they're likely incompatible, and they've both resigned themselves to their affections only being one-sided, but they still stay up at night thinking about a life with each other despite knowing full well that even if they did get what they wanted, in the end they're likely doomed to be star-crossed lovers.
Go on and put on that dress that all the bad boys like I know your daddy ain't home so ride with me tonight You always wind up here in a puddle of tears
These verses are repeated but there's a hint of resignation in the singer's voice that I think fits Mundy's mood well in the first two scenes of chapter 13. He knows full well what tonight is going to consist of, knows that Jess will be gussied up, knows that he's going to have to suffer through people staring at her and that he'll be angry at that because they don't know her like he does.
He's worried about something happening to her, about her getting too drunk, about the car, about people flirting with her, worst he's worried about the idea of her leaving with someone who isn't him. There's a level of possessiveness here. But he's resigned, and he's deciding that whatever happens, it's alright. He'll be there to pick up the pieces if she needs it. If she needs him.
Those boys are out and they're angry and they're looking for blood In the back of a blue old pickup truck You got nowhere to go although you're all gussied up
This whole song fits well with events of Jesse's birthday, but I think these verses, the last in the song, fit better with the aftermath. This is Mundy acknowledging that once BLU learns of what happened in Vegas they'll be out for his blood--Charles and Liem in particular, with Liem owning that blue ute--but it's also Mundy acknowledging that he'll do Vegas a million and one times until it inevitably catches up with him. You're all gussied up, so let's go somewhere. Even if it kills me.

MLB Season 4 Character Analysis: "Furious Fu"
Introduction
Hey guys, I'm back with another MLB Season 4 character analysis and now we're onto episode 6. If you missed my last post you can find it here. This is the series where I look into the emotions, motivations and thought processes of all the characters in every individual episode of season 4.
So this episode was a big one. We got to see the return of good old Master Fu with his girlfriend Marianne and we also have Marinette meet the Celestial Guardian of the Miraculous, Su-Han who has come all the way to Paris on foot after the events of "Feast" to reclaim the Mother Box and he was also a very interesting character I am going to analyze in the analysis so let's get started.
Character POVs
Marinette/Ladybug
"You know why you can't come. When he made me the new Guardian his memory was magically erased. Now Master Fu is just like everyone else: he can't know about the Miraculous, my secret identity or you kwamis"
Starting off with the main focus of this episode as always, Marinette had to deal with the immaturity of the kwamis wanting to see their old Guardian and the wrath of a fully-fledged Guardian of the Miraculous who wants to reclaim the Miracle Box from her and is forced to have to show him that she is a worthy Guardian which she did by dealing with the titular villain when Su-Han couldn't showing that she can be a good Guardian in her own way. Overall, she handled the situation very well.
Also from the end of the episode, Su-Han is now watching her every move, ready to the Miracle Box away from her the moment she does something wrong and that adds yet another layer of pressure onto Marinette (as if she needed another reason to be afraid of failure).
Not much to say about her this episode, but for our next character, I might have more to talk about.
2. Su-Han
"Involving Marianne in the fight, a human without powers, was against the precepts too. This has proven two things: the first thing is that you have the audacity to invent your own rules and as crazy as it may seem, somehow they all work. The second thing is that your natural instincts tell you who you can trust, an essential quality for a Guardian."
Moving on to the introduction of Su-Han, He was a pretty interesting character and while many people hated him, you can kinda see where he's coming from. When he woke up suddenly after the events of "Feast", he found the Miracle Box he was supposed to protect missing along with his slacker student, Fu and this infuriated him and when he found out that not only did Master Fu take away the Miracle Box but also left it with an not-properly-trained teenage girl he was furious and wanted to take away the Miracle Box immediately.
It didn't help matters when he also found out that his slacker student lost two Miraculous just because he was hungry and that the whereabouts of the most dangerous kwami is now unknown. It also made sense when he tried to take away Master Fu's staff because that was apparently the disguised staff of a Guardian which led to Master Fu's akumatization into Furious Fu, a supervillain with the ability to use whatever power he makes a symbol of with his paintbrush on a piece of paper and wants revenge on him for trying to steal his staff. Since he was not trained to fight people created from the magic of the Miraculous, the only thing he could do was hide and when Ladybug made him realize he was being a coward and when he saw her in action, she deemed her worthy of being the Guardian of the Miracle Box but was still going to keep an eye on her considering this was still a teenage girl she was dealing with.
3. Adrien/Cat Noir
"Does that mean you won't remember me?............ You want my ring? Then come and get it!"
Finally, we're going to end off with Cat Noir who had one moment this episode where he realizes that if Ladybug gives up the Miracle Box, she would lose her memories and therefore Ladybug would not remember him and since he doesn't know her true identity, he would probably never see her again. This is where his dependency on his relationship with Ladybug for his happiness comes up again back from the episode "Truth" and that dependency is causing problems here but it was also a good thing that Cat Noir did that because otherwise in the end Su-Han would never have let Marinette keep the Miracle Box.
Conclusion
Well, that's the end of episode 6 and I really felt this was more of a plot episode rather than a characterization episode so I didn't really have much to say on any of the characters other than maybe Su-Han. So let me know your thoughts on my analysis of this episode and as always let me know if I missed anything about any of the characters.

Adrigami And Gabenath Parallels💚❤️💜💙
Adrigami and Gabenath are my favourite MLB ships, and I just noticed that they parallel each other really well!
In Adrigami, Adrien’s still hung up on Ladybug even though he’s fallen in love with Kagami, and, in Gabenath, Gabriel’s still hung up on Emilie even though he’s fallen in love with Nathalie! Now, I know the Love Square is gonna be MLB’s endgame, but I feel like these parallels between father and son regarding the women in their lives who they have to move on from and the women in their lives who they’ve fallen in love with and who make them better are wayyy more compelling and would carry more narrative weight and tell a better, more satisfying story, while also being an amazing lesson to the audience! Adrien’s obsessive crush on Ladybug has led to a lot of negative consequences, for him and for everyone else, and Gabriel’s obsession with Emilie has led to......legit him becoming a freaking supervillain and terrorising Paris on a daily basis. Adrigami and Gabenath are healthy and could lead to amazing, loving relationships if Adrien and Gabriel just moved on from Ladybug and Emilie respectively and got with Kagami and Nathalie respectively! This would also send the important message to the audience that sometimes your first crush or your first marriage doesn’t work out, and that it’s perfectly normal and healthy and great for you to move on and be with someone who makes you happy!
So yeah, Adrigami and Gabenath becoming MLB’s endgame couples would be the best!❤️❤️❤️
(Note: No hate on the Love Square or Gabrielie. If you ship the Love Square or Gabrielie, or are anti-Adrigami or anti-Gabenath, please just ignore this post and move on.)

They never blamed her
At the end of "Protection", Marinette finds out that Kagami had come into contact with Lila. This was huge news for Marinette because it finally answered the question of who gave Kagami that friendship test list back in "Perfection", the very list that made Kagami believe that Marinette never considered her a friend and was not good enough to be anyone's friend.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Marinette has previously dealt with Lila's attempts to ruin her friendships and reputation. Way back in "Ladybug", not only did Lila frame Marinette for various misdeeds but she also made sure to cover her tracks by making Marinette seem like the bad guy. As much as Marinette tried to defend herself, even she came to the cruel realization that her words would still fall on deaf ears even in her most dire moment, as she realized Lila was just too good at lying.
When Marinette tried to clear her name to Kagami in "Protection", she once again faced the same troubling situation as in "Ladybug", which was that she was not being taken seriously over Lila's words.
(Kagami believed Lila's lie that Marinette would lie her way out of trouble, she refused to listen to Marinette's attempts to clear her name.)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The only reason Marinette's name was cleared back in "Ladybug" was because Adrien demanded Lila come up with another lie that would prove her innocence, as even he knew he did not have the capability to expose Lila and could only threaten to end their friendship if she did not carry out his demands. And of course, Lila reluctantly agreed, not for the sake of friendship, but because she could not risk losing the privileges that came with such a friendship, including being able to stay close to Adrien amidst her (failed)plans to start a romantic relationship with him.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Near the end of "Protection", Adrien overheard the conversation between Marinette and Kagami and likely also understood that what happened in "Perfection" and "Protection" had all been the result of Lila once again having no regard for others as she now attempted to ruin the friendship between Marinette and Kagami.
Just like in "Ladybug", it was Adrien who stepped in at the end of "Protection" to try and help clear Marinette's name to Kagami, but unlike in "Ladybug", this was different. Ever since Adrien ended his friendship with Chloe back in "Derision", it was very likely that he also ended his friendship with the only other person who would willingly hurt Marinette, Lila. But while the two of them no longer being friends would end up being a good decision for Adrien, this also meant that Adrien no longer had any leverage over Lila.
Risking the friendship Lila had with him, was the only thing he had to make Lila listen as he knew she could not be reasoned with normally. However, by now, even he knew that friendship never really mattered to Lila as he learned she was still willing to make attempts to hurt the people he loved behind his back. The only chance he had at helping Kagami realize that Lila was wrong about Marinette being a liar and a manipulator, was by openly expressing his honest and heartfelt opinion about Marinette.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
It was left to Kagami to decide for herself whether or not Marinette was really a bad person, Adrien could only hope that Kagami did not forget the time she shared with Marinette, what she saw Marinette do for her and for others that proved every day how much of a good person she truly was, and she didn't, but this hurt all the more as she realized that she misjudged the friends who cherished her and the love they had for each other (more here).
No matter how guilty and ashamed Kagami felt for allowing her own emotions to cloud her judgment and believe Marinette was a bad person, Marinette never shunned her for it, because in many ways, Marinette knew all too well the position Kagami was in.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Back in season 2, when Kagami first arrived to Paris, Marinette had the rough impression that Kagami was not only cold, but a threat, someone who never hesitated and was capable of making secret plans in their shared love rivalry for Adrien. The thought of the two of them ever being friends never crossed her mind as she assumed Kagami viewed her as someone who was inferior and imperfect, someone who only ever hesitated at any given opportunity.
(In the past, Marinette believed Kagami was perfect in every way)
Tumblr media
(In "Frozer", Marinette becomes intimidated by Kagami's willingness to not hesitate with Adrien, to not be afraid to take the next step with him and not be considered just a friend in his eyes)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
In "Animaestro", Marinette really believed the idea that Kagami was determined to kidnap Adrien so she could take him to japan forever, and that Adrien was too nice a person to realize Kagami's "evil plan", all things which in reality, never happened. Back in "Ikari Gozen", Marinette really believed Kagami only entered the friendship day competition in a plan to receive all the credit for winning the game that Adrien was involved in, fully intending to use the game as a chance to make Adrien fall in love with her, something that in reality Kagami never did or intended to do, all she really wanted was to make a friend.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
In "Protection", when Kagami believed Lila's words that Marinette was secretly pretending to be nice to her from the start as part of her secret plan to steal Adrien from her one day, she really believed in the idea that everything she did to help Marinette get that chance to get closer to Adrien, and help direct Adrien towards understanding his feelings for Marinette, was all part of Marinette's "evil plan" to act weak as a way to lie and manipulate others into feeling compelled to help her get what she wanted (more here), and Adrien for one was too blinded by Marinette's manipulation to see through her deception, all things that in reality Marinette never did or had the intention to do, all she really wanted was to be a good friend to Kagami.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Marinette's past views of Kagami were of course brought about by her overactive imagination conjuring and believing in situations that never happened (something she would later learn to admit to herself in "Glaciator 2"), that the only solution to stopping what she thought were Kagami's "diabolical plans" was by sabotaging her and even adhering to the word of someone like Chloe, who had a hatred for Kagami, a similar course of action Lila instilled in Kagami in "Protection" as she pushed Kagami into believing that she had every right to go against Marinette and fight to take back what she stole, Adrien(more here).
Although Marinette did eventually come to her senses and realized she completely misjudged Kagami, she never forgot that overwhelming sense of guilt and shame she felt over just how much she misjudged her, especially in regards to what she did during that time she believed Kagami was the evil one in a situation, when in reality she never was.
(In "Ikari Gozen", Marinette realizes Kagami was never the cold hearted perfect person she thought, and was simply a socially awkward girl desperate to learn how to be friendlier and make friends)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Over time, Marinette grew to learn the kind of person Kagami was, she was flawed just like anyone else, she was a girl who struggled to learn about herself, especially friendships, but was eager to learn, and befriend those who were willing to accept her. Kagami has always been very strong willed, and yet despite this, those who would actually take a chance to talk to her would learn that behind that strong will, was a fragile innocence.
Which is why when Marinette and Adrien learned that it was Lila whom Kagami had been listening to, they never blamed her for doing so, and how could they? They understood Kagami knew very little about friendships, and Lila was fully willing to take advantage of this.
To know that Kagami believed the friendship test back in "Perfection" and still stay with Lila even after the matter was resolved, was likely enough to reveal to them that Kagami had considered Lila a friend who cherished and listened to her, because that's how Lila would have presented herself from the start to draw Kagami towards her.
Adrien and Marinette knew they had to warn Kagami about Lila and they did, but being upfront about Lila had already proven to be of no use in the past, so they did what they could and told Kagami that Lila was one person whose actions didn't prove she is as good of a person as she claims to be.
Tumblr media
However, no matter how much they would try to warn Kagami about Lila, even they must have understood that Kagami was now trapped in Lila's clutches. They have seen Lila lie her way out of trouble many times before, and as we all know, that's exactly what she did the moment Kagami confronted her about the lies she spoke about Marinette.
Tumblr media
Without proof, they could only hope Kagami would adhere to their word over Lila's the next time she attempted to lie and manipulate her into another one of her scheme's.

@musicfeedsmysoul12 and @lurking96 this is both of y’all’s fault with that thread about how too many fics where Izuku jumps, gets a quirk and just make Bakugo regret it without any actual character change. Just: Izuku goes splat, and now Bakugo is an uwu soft boy who’s really sorry but had no character development visible.
Y’all both get some of the blame for this fic outline I created after a bang, chocolate, and on 2 hours of sleep. It’s still a really rough outline and I don’t have time to polish it up into an actual outline, draft, then fic with my summer classes and job right now. Enjoy my stream of thought with no filter
The Ripple
Izuku has a concussion from Bakugo attacking him at school so his eyesight is off. Everything else is the same up to when All Might leaves him on the roof.
The concussion fucked with his vision, balance, and depth perception. So he ended up accidentally stepping off the side of the building. (Hush, I know that there’s a railing. We’re pretending that when All Might jumped away from Izuku on the roof, he accidentally took like half of it with him.)
Crash, boom, blood. Ambulance carted him off to the hospital and that’s the last we see of Izuku for a while.
They don’t know that All Might was the one who got him up to the rooftop because the notebook with the signature was blown off the roof and into the river. By the time that it was found, it was nothing but mush and the writing was illegible, all runny and blurry. They also just assumed that a villain ripped the railing off in a previous battle and the owner hadn’t gotten it fixed yet.
Inko tells Mitsuki that they think it was suicide because he couldn’t have accidentally gotten up on the roof (No evidence of All Might). Katsuki hears that but refuses to tell anyone that he told Izuku to jump off a roof because that could hurt his chances of being a hero.
Entrance Exam
Fast-forward to the entrance exam, everything proceeds as canon except for the bits with Izuku, which never happened.
Uraraka is stuck under the boulder with the zero pointer bearing down on her. Canon shows no evidence of any pro except Present Mic at the site, and he was last seen at the gates so he isn’t close by to Uraraka.
Uraraka couldn’t escape from the boulder in time and the kill switch takes up to 30 seconds to receive and process. So, the robot steps on the boulder and crushes her leg. She’s rushed to Recovery Girl but the damage is so severe that they have to amputate a leg.
As compensation, UA takes care of all the medical bills and offers her a spot in the Hero Course at UA with her entire tuition paid for all 3 years. Uraraka accepts to make it easier financially on her parents, so she shows up to the first day of classes with a prosthetic leg that she painted pink in an effort to make it less sad.
Quirk Assessment
A random extra is put into 1-A, but they and Mineta are promptly expelled. The extra just didn’t try at all, relying upon the idea that the teacher wouldn’t actually expel anyone on the first day. Mineta was just too pervy/not heroic enough so he got the boot.
Aizawa was reminded of the death of Oboro when Uraraka nearly got crushed, so he’s on high alert to expel those that he believes would never be good at heroics/ would just get themselves killed. Extra not trying and Mineta just focusing on being a perv, made him convinced they would get killed so he just expelled them straight away [No readmission for them]
This shocked Momo who thought he was bluffing and made her more cognizant of the fact that not everyone plays by the same rules as her.
Battle Trial
Battle trials happen. Momo and Uraraka are paired up together and fight twice in the trials. They won both times because Uraraka floated the bomb and Momo in the fight against Todoroki so that it was impossible for Todoroki to capture them. They win against Iida and Bakugo because Uraraka takes advantage of Iida’s unwillingness to hurt someone he views as disabled/helpless and knocks him out with a bat from Momo, then touches the bomb, Momo just created water and soaked Bakugo so he couldn’t use his Quirk and then ran from him.
All other trials proceeded as in canon.
USJ
Since Tsuyu is the only one in the Water Zone [Midoriya not in the story and Mineta expelled], she just went straight for the shore and got back to the entry area via the river. She witnesses the entire beatdown of Aizawa and his fighting, so she’s very traumatized. But because she’s amphibious and is completely underwater [In my hcs, she can breathe underwater as long as water can access most of her skin. So her suit is very permeable and water can get through it], Shigaraki never sees her and so he doesn’t try to kill her.
Rest of the USJ goes as canon dictates including Aizawa getting his head smashed by the Nomu
Sports Festival
Because 1-A has 2 less students, only the first 40 to get to the finish line can pass on. Todoroki ended up getting first place by icing over Bakugo’s legs at the tunnel entrance. Everyone else that originally passed in canon, also passed.
All the teams are the same, except for Uraraka’s team which doesn’t have Midoriya, and Shoji’s who doesn’t have Mineta.
Bakugo is going after Todoroki instead of Uraraka’s team because he’s focused on snagging the winning headband.
Uraraka uses her Quirk on her team and they just hang out in the sky for awhile, since after the boulder, she practiced to be able to lift more weight so that never happens again.
Shoji’s team is the same as canon, especially because Mineta never actually did anything important to the team.
Todoroki never uses his fire because he used his ice to create a dome that kept everyone else away from his team. Bakugo runs around stealing other headbands since he can’t get to Todoroki.
At the end of the round, Todoroki is in first, Bakugo is second, Uraraka is third and Shinso is fourth.
Ojiro and Shoda both drop out citing the fact that they couldn’t remember the event as the reason. Shiozaki Ibara and Tetsutetsu Tetsutetsu replace them
So now we have the 1v1 battles with the following students.
Uraraka Ochako
Tokoyami Fumikage
Hatsume Mei
Bakugo Katsuki
Kirishima Eijiro
Ashido Mina
Sero Hanta
Todoroki Shoto
Iida Tenya
Yaoyorozu Momo
Kaminari Denki
Shinso Hitoshi
Aoyama Yuga
Shiozaki Ibara
Tetsutetsu Tetsutestu
Shinso gets a free pass onto the next round because he is a gen ed student so they wanted to allow him the best chance possible and it’s better for the optics of UA for watchers to see a hero student beating up another hero student instead of a gen ed kid.
Todoroki v. Sero -Todoroki won ala iceberg
Kaminari v. Shiozaki  -Kaminari won by sending electricity through her hair and knocking her out because Aizawa forced him to start thinking outside of the box after he nearly died during the USJ [shiozaki has to have nerves to control her vines and nerves have electricity traveling through them. So they’re a conductor and Kaminari can send his electricity down them]
Iida v. Hatsume -He doesn’t accept her gadgets and just pushes her out of bounds. After the Uraraka debacle in his battle trial, he realizes that he can’t just go off his perceptions and has to be wary of them.
Ashido v. Aoyama - Ashido won
Tokoyami v. Yaoyorozu - Yaoyorozu won by creating an explosion of light and blinding them, then pushing them out of the ring. Uraraka taught her to take advantage of what she can do and Aizawa forced her to realize that others don’t have the same rules.
Tetsutetsu v. Kirishima - Kirishima won by charging Tetsutetsu and knocking him out of the ring. Again Aizawa forced him to not just behave as a shield because of the USJ
Uraraka v. Bakugo -Uraraka won by taking off her prosthetic, leaving it as a decoy and floating herself so that he couldn’t hear her coming, and the dust from his explosions had blinded him. She tackled him from above and hurled him out of bounds. He got a concussion and Recovery Girl forced him to stay in the infirmary.
Todoroki v. Shinso -Shinso won by coming after Todoroki’s weak spot and making him talk
Iida v. Kaminari -Kaminari won by shocking Iida’s engines when he tried to grab him. Made him collapse, and then just dragged him out of bounds.
Tokoyami v. Ashido- Tokoyami won by Dark Shadow kicking her out of bounds
Uraraka v. Kirishima -Uraraka won by preying on Kirishima’s desire for manliness and to not hurt a girl. Got close enough to float him and then just push him out of bounds. Aizawa has plans to lecture Kirishima about when to be manly and when to not be.
Shinso v. Kaminari -Shinso won. He could tell that Kaminari was a memelord, so he just took advantage of that and said a meme that Kaminari couldn’t resist completing. [Don’t know what yet, I’ll figure it out later]
Tokoyami v. Uraraka -Tokoyami won. Uraraka lost because she couldn’t use her Quirk on Dark Shadow and Dark Shadow was the one to attack her. [See doc of quirk analysis for more in depth in case we forget]
Shinso v. Tokoyami -Shinso won by mirroring Tokoyami’s speech patterns which knocked him off guard and got him caught into Shinso’s Quirk.
Shinso got first place, Tokoyami got second, Uraraka and Kaminari shared third place.
Hero names
Todoroki -Shoto
Bakugo -King Explosion
Iida -Tenya
Uraraka -Weightless [As a pun on weigh less because of her amputation and her quirk. She’s not quite as bubbly and didn’t feel like uravity reflected her anymore]
Tsuyu -Froppy
Kirishima -Red Riot
Yaoyorozu -Creati [I really want to change this but I don’t know to whaaaat!!! I’ll come back to it later]
Tokoyami -Tsukuyomi
Jiro -EarJack
Shinso -Silencer [Stupid but his quirk makes people silent plus I love MLB silencer design of the , not the helmet tho that is ugly looking and the coloring needs to be more muted imo]
Internships
Shinso gets an internship with Aizawa to assess whether or not he’s fit for heroics. Aizawa also prescreens all of his students' internships to make sure that it’s a good fit for them. [He’s a lot more protective of where they because he wants them to be actually learning useful heroics not shit like how to clean and pose for a camera.]
Mirko offers an internship to Uraraka because she wanted to teach a fighting girl that was perceived as helpless by society. [Society views disabled as helpless, a girl is also viewed as helpless, both is bad combination. Mirko wants to prove anyone can be badass with the right training]
Yaoyorozu gets put with Fatgum because Aizawa sees that she’s struggling with the fat part of her Quirk and knows that if she went with Uwabami, she’d develop more insecurities. [Uwabami is a TV actress/model. She’ll pass on weight/beauty related insecurities because that’s what a lot of actresses have and she seems focused more on a fanbase]
Kirishima goes with Rock Lock to be faced with the blunt truth that ideals are nice, but you can’t have them rule your life as a hero. [Canonly, he’s very blunt and pragmatic, so he’d believe that trying to be manly is fine, but there is a time and place for it.]
Everyone else goes with their canon internships.
The Nomus attack Hosu. Because Gran Torino isn’t there, the Nomus are more dangerous and more civilians die. All the heroes are focused exclusively on managing the Nomus and the interns kinda fall to the wayside since they can’t do anything.
Iida slips away and Manual is too busy putting out fires to notice.
Iida runs off and finds Stain. Battle commences and Iida loses.
Stain calls him and Native fake heroes. Native gets a sliced throat. Stain is a little more lenient with Iida because he is a kid. He goes through the fabric pants and slices the femoral artery to the bone. [Femoral artery cuts can lead to death within minutes especially with Iida running on adrenaline which kicks up the blood pressure and rate of bleeding.]
Endeavour comes through with Shoto burning all the nomus and destroying them. Finally the city is quiet and the search for the dead begins.
Every hero in Hosu grid searched the entire city to retrieve the dead and bring them to the morgue for claiming.
Manual was the one to find his dead intern and Native. He had to call UA and tell them that he got a student killed while under his supervision. He gets blacklisted by UA and Aizawa puts out a warning on the Underground network that if others are under his care, that he might lose track of them.
Once everyone returned from their internships, they left red spider lilies on his desk as a way to guide him to the afterlife.
Training Camp
The villains still want Bakugo because they saw his aggression, violence, and determination to be the best during the sports festival and the internships. So they think he’d be an easy switch to flip.
This time, Aizawa doesn’t dump them out in the middle of the forest because he’s focusing on forcing his students to interact and bond with each other instead of doing their own thing. So they all stay on the bus and Aizawa makes them talk about something semi-important with a seat partner for 10 minutes before switching so that everyone talks to more than just their friend groups.
When they arrive, Kota is his bratty self and Aizawa shuts that down fast. He tells him that he has two options, one: stay with his aunts and uncle or two: stay with Aizawa. Aizawa can’t have an itty-bitty child running around loose in the forest when 17 hormonal teenagers are letting off their Quirks which are dangerous. [it was an awful idea in canon to let Kota hide in his treehouse. Imagine if one of the kids near the mountain lost control of their quirk.] Kota chooses to stay with his aunts and uncle at all times because Aizawa is scary.
Once the training starts, he pairs everyone up with different partners to force their Quirks to improve.
Ashido-Kirishima to strengthen her acid and his hardening by hurling acid at him
Tokoyami-Kaminari-Aoyama to force Aoyama to maintain his laser beam for longer, Tokoyami to force him to strengthen Dark Shadow against light, Kaminari to power multiple light sources without burning them out and not going into whee mode so he can avoid the laser beam and Dark Shadow
Ojiro-Koda to force Koda to vary the animals that he calls and Ojiro to give him experience with fending off multiple opponents of varying sizes and skill levels without seriously injuring them.
Todoroki-Bakugo-Tsuyu to force Todoroki to be able to control both sides of his quirks and switch them easily, Tsuyu to force her to get accustomed to varying temperatures and making sure they don’t knock her out, Bakugo to force him to sweat more in both cold and hot temperatures so that he’s more versatile.
Jiro-Shoji-Hagakure to force Hagakure to improve her stealth and fighting, Jiro to make her be able to detect people sneaking up on her, and Shoji to improve his locating skills and stealth. [Shoji is a big boy and needs to work on stealth]
Sero-Sato to help Sero with his dodging and speed, and Sato to help him retain more of his planning and forethought while his Quirk is activated
Uraraka-Yaoyorozu to make Uraraka work on her sickness and weight limits and Yaoyorozu to adapt to planning on the fly and create items quickly.
Aizawa forces them to break away from their training partners when it’s time to make dinner and everyone is required to help in some way during the meal. The help can be gathering the ingredients, preparing them, doing the actual cooking, plating, setting the table, cleaning up after, anything as long as they contributed.
Repeat until the trial of courage.
Vlad wants to do the trial and Aizawa refuses to do it. Aizawa is actively trying to squash out the competitiveness of his students in order to make them work together and ask for help so that they’ll survive longer in the hero society. Uraraka lost a leg because people wouldn’t cooperate to help her in the entrance exam and Iida died because he was too focused on himself and didn’t ask for help. The trial would just reignite the competitiveness and ruin his progress.
1-B does the trial on their own while 1-A is given a maze they have to navigate.
The maze is created by Pixie Bob and is huge. It’s large enough that the students on the ground can’t peek over the walls to see the path. There are two students on the ground, the leader and the guide. The leader can see the walls and the turns but has earplugs in so they can’t hear the guide if the guide tries to talk. The guide can hear the directions from the person who sees the entire maze but is blindfolded and has to guide through tapping the shoulders of the leader. The person outside and looking down has to direct their team through the maze quickly without crashing into other teams. The leader can’t just guess a direction because Pixiebob will shift the maze if they try to do that so they can’t backtrack. It’s in teams of three so Aizawa is directing the last team. [Kinda inspired by survivor but with my own twist]
All of them rotate through each position with different teams each go round to impress on them the importance of all the roles.
In the last round, Bakugo was the person issuing instructions, cursing and screaming through the mic the entire time.
That’s when the villains attacked. But there were a few changes in the lineup.
Toga wasn’t there because the police picked her up and Inko got her case taken on to get her on parole and took her into her home when she saw her at the station while continuing with the criminal charges levied against the owner of the building that Izuku had fallen off of. The appearance of a girl bullied and ostracized for her Quirk, who was going down the path of no return, Inko saw Izuku in her. As such, she wanted to care for her and show her that villainy wasn’t the answer and that there are people who cared for her in spite of her blood Quirk. [Toga is stuck with Inko at this point in time and has a tracking anklet to make sure that she’s behaving. Rehab is going really well with the unconditional care that Inko is providing.]
Dabi got an infection and landed in the hospital ER as an unknown patient and wound up in a coma while his body was busy trying to fight the infection of his staples. [The man’s a walking open wound. You can sneeze in his general vicinity and have a high chance of taking him down in a couple weeks. Haven’t decided if I want to wake him up or not. Depends on my feelings]
Mustard joined the attack via Toga due to them being closer in age and talking. No Toga, no Mustard. [He’s sulking in detention right now.]
So the only ones left are Mr. Compress, Magne, Spinner, Muscular, Moonfish, Twice and the Nomu. Much smaller and no long-range attacks.
Their mission is to get in, extract Bakugo and get out with minimal damage. That’s what happened.
Muscular, Moonfish, and the Nomu all rampage on the opposite side of the mountain to draw attention to them. Magne and Spinner break up the 1-A class and drive them apart. Twice and Mr. Compress work together to snatch up Bakugo in a marble and then they all book it. Muscular and Moonfish are both left behind to keep the heroes distracted long enough for them to get back to Kurogiri and through the portal. Nomu ended up buried in a mountain via a very anger Tiger at the disruption of his naps. The students all worked together to try and bring down the villain to retrieve their classmate, but when that failed, Yaoyorozu managed to attach a tracker to the villains top hat.
Injuries were minimal and the three heavy hitting villains were arrested and locked up. The only casualty was Bakugo being kidnapped.
Kidnapping Arc
Blah, blah, join us you can be stronger and win a villain-Shigaraki
No, fuck off, go fuck yourselves-Bakugo
Repeat until All Might shows up
Then AfO activates goop Quirk [really need a better name for that. better than vomit transport quirk at least. That was my first thought], drags the league and Bakugo to him. Bakugo is held by him, hand on his temple ready to crush him.
Rest of Heroes all show up on the battlefield but aren’t moving so that Bakugo doesn’t get hurt. Essentially a stand off.
You know, you can tell whether or not someone has the potential for villainy by their greatest regret -AfO
AfO has a quirk that allows the user to see someone’s greatest regret, with more details the longer that the quirk is activated. He also has a quirk that allows him to project whatever he’s thinking about in a video format for everyone to see. [the man is old. he probably had a habit of taking whatever quirk he wanted when he was younger before all might turned him into a very ugly potato/alternate darth vader]
Quirks activate and it’s the scene of Bakugo telling Izuku to get jump off a building spliced with the news from Inko that Izuku was suspected of jumping off a building
Interesting. Why is that your greatest regret?-AfO
Quirk gives him more details.
Bakugo only regrets saying that because if it ever became public, he'd never reach the spot of number one hero which is his only goal in life.
Guess you are nothing but a villain after all. Too obsessed with yourself to see the damage you caused.-Afo
Afo shoved the boy away from him and forcibly activated Kurogiri’s Quirk to allow the league to escape.
Every hero on site is frozen in shock at the reveal of what a hero student of UA, the most prestigious hero school that graduated most of the top heroes in Japan, actually believed.
At that point, AfO flips All Might the finger and just goes through the portal because the news would shake society’s faith in UA which is really good. He can kill All Might later. [or just wait for any infection to take the man out. He lost his stomach so he probably lost his spleen too which is kinda important for the immune system.]
Fallout
Bakugo is booted to gen ed because Aizawa refused to teach someone that was just going to end up hurting someone later in life. Because Aizawa is an Underground Hero who specializes in information and predication, schools tend to believe in what he says about the potential/future of heroes in training especially when he has evidence to back up his beliefs. So no other school will take him on as a hero student.
Bakugo is essentially blacklisted from heroics because everyone wants to believe that a hero is good and just. And when the illusion is broken before it has a chance to solidify, they have no chance of becoming a hero.
Aizawa goes and apologizes in person to Inko. Because even though he had no way of knowing, he feels like he should have recognized the abusive tendencies and/or egocentrism  of Bakugo earlier. So, allowing it to continue was a slap in the face to his victims.
Inko accepts his apology because she didn’t know about it either so how could she blame him when she was closer and still missed all the signs. She offers to let Aizawa visit Izuku because Eraserhead was one of his favorite heroes because of how much skill he had. But because Eraserhead was underground, he didn’t have any merch or enough information to write about him.
*Split path here depending on the angst level I want
1. Izuku is in a coma, all healed up, just hasn’t woken up. When they came, Izuku had just woken up a half hour ago so the doctors were busy checking all his vitals, memory, joints, etc. Inko cries, Aizawa stands away because he’s allergic to emotions, and Izuku is just silently fanboying because he sees one of his favorite heroes.
2.Izuku is in a coma and doesn’t wake up. Inko introduces Aizawa to him and tells Aizawa about his dreams and his story. Aizawa makes sure that at least once a week, he comes and visits to talk to him. He also brings other heroes to introduce to Midoriya to make sure that others know about him.
3.Aizawa and Inko go to a graveyard and the name Midoriya Izuku is carved into a family grave marker with flowers and an All Might figure in front of it. Inko tells Aizawa that Izuku died from falling from the building. They thought he jumped randomly, but with the new info, Inko is thinking that Bakugo might’ve pushed him verbally over the edge. Aizawa promises to investigate more.

via Politics – FiveThirtyEight
Welcome to FiveThirtyEight’s politics chat. The transcript below has been lightly edited.
sarah (Sarah Frostenson, politics editor): Georgia’s new voting law has captured headlines for all the ways in which it makes voting harder. It’s also not the only state considering these kinds of laws; there are nearly 20 states in which voting restrictions have already passed at least one step of the legislative process. More than 300 voting restriction bills, according to an analysis by FiveThirtyEight, have been introduced in state legislatures this year following months of fraudulent claims from former President Trump and his supporters that the 2020 presidential election was rigged. (Sixty percent of Republican voters still say the election “was stolen” from Trump.)
But understanding the effects of laws like Georgia’s is complicated. There’s not really solid evidence one way or the other that this law will hurt Democrats or help Republicans. It’s also a point that elides a more fundamental one: If one party increasingly supports anti-democratic measures, does anything else outweigh that?
Public opinion on voting laws isn’t clear-cut either — provisions like a ban on giving voters food and water (something the Georgia law did) are unpopular, but voter ID laws are broadly popular. So let’s address the politics, public opinion and research on voting laws to better understand the contours of this debate, tackling this chat in two parts:
First, how much does it matter that Republicans’ election security push is precipitated on a lie? That is, as there has been no evidence the 2020 election actually experienced wide-scale fraud, does that undermine Republicans’ argument?
And second, how much do Americans care about voting rights as an issue?
OK, first up — The argument from Republicans supporting these new laws. What do they want in the push for more “election security”? And how much does it matter, at this point, that there wasn’t actually wide-scale voter fraud in 2020?
nrakich (Nathaniel Rakich, elections analyst): IMO, the “Big Lie” is the key to understanding Republicans’ motivations. Everyone can agree that elections should be secure. But …
Tumblr media
… the specific methods of voting being targeted by Republicans (almost half of the voting restrictions that have been introduced regulate absentee voting), the states in which they are targeting them (disproportionately swing states), and the timing of that targeting (after Republicans lost the 2020 election) all suggest that they are only passing these restrictions because they think they will help the GOP win future elections.
Tumblr media
alex (Alex Samuels, politics reporter): But to your second question, Sarah, this is the narrative conservative lawmakers and many of their voters have bought into, right? That the 2020 election was supposedly stolen from Trump?
There was never — and still is no — evidence of massive voter fraud that Trump and his allies stated as fact. But because it was repeated so many times and with such certainty, large parts of the GOP electorate came to believe it.
As long as the “Big Lie” continues to be pervasive, we’re going to keep seeing these efforts to get these restrictions passed, as Nathaniel notes.
nrakich: Alex, it’s an interesting question whether these Republican legislators actually believe that rampant voter fraud cost Trump the election or they are just going along with it because it’s politically convenient. But I’m also not sure it matters. Either way, they are making policy based on a conspiracy theory.
sarah: Right, setting aside the question as to what extent Republican politicians buy the “Big Lie,” it is pervasive among Republican voters: In a March 30-31 Reuters poll, 6 in 10 Republicans said they still believed the election “was stolen” from Trump “due to widespread voter fraud.”
nrakich: And rank-and-file Republicans are correspondingly willing to make voting harder in order to get their desired outcome. According to the Pew Research Center, only 28 percent of Republicans now say “everything possible should be done to make it easy for every citizen to vote,” down from 48 percent in 2018.
alex: Republican politicians also seem to acknowledge that it’s likely they won’t win future elections without some sort of changes to the voting system. Sen. Lindsey Graham told Fox News that “mail-in balloting is a nightmare for us,” even though it wasn’t controversial before this past year. I think these changes are more about preserving power than about “voter fraud.”
And to Nathaniel’s earlier point, few Republicans lawmakers are doing anything to stop these bills from passing. Even the ones who don’t necessarily think there was fraud.
julia_azari (Julia Azari, political science professor at Marquette University and FiveThirtyEight contributor): The argument about election security boils down to an argument that people voted who shouldn’t have, right? That there were questionable votes.
And so reforms based on the “Big Lie” hinge on the 2020 election having those kinds of irregularities. People might not come out and say it was because people of the wrong skin color voted — they might say, well, people should have been ineligible because of changes to early voting rules or whatever. But in the context of both the history of disenfranchisement of African Americans and more recent fears about people living in the country illegally voting, the implication is pretty clear. When the solution is to tighten up the voting rules, you have implied that the problem is the wrong people voting.
nrakich: Yeah, Julia, you see this in how surgically targeted some of these provisions are. For example, legislators in Georgia originally proposed banning early voting on Sundays, which would end the “Souls to the Polls” initiatives that are so popular at Black churches. That provision did not end up passing, but one that did — prohibiting food and water be handed to voters in line — will disproportionately affect urban areas, where there are both more lines and more voters of color.
alex: Myrna Pérez from the Brennan Center told us something similar, Julia. The bills we’re seeing now reflect “a real fear over the browning of America, and folks trying to protect what they have and keep the power for themselves.”
sarah: And as you all are saying, sometimes it’s hard to see that this is what these restrictions intend to do, because some of the more draconian measures don’t end up passing and the exact language of the measures that do pass isn’t quite so explicit (i.e., “This voting measure intends to disenfranchise Black Americans.”).
The New York Times’s Jamelle Bouie argued this in his essay on how it’s not an exaggeration to compare the current voting restriction push to the Jim Crow era. That is, a lot of the ramifications and larger purposes behind these bills weren’t immediately clear until all the pieces fell into line. “[T]he thing about Jim Crow is that it wasn’t ‘Jim Crow’ until, one day, it was,” writes Bouie.
At this point, though, do Republicans need the “Big Lie” to push through this agenda?
That is, it feels like there is a shift at play here with Republicans increasingly distancing themselves from the election being stolen in 2020 and more so focusing on scoring points against how Democrats are now characterizing the laws (i.e., Jim Crow 2.0).
In fact, we’ve already seen some of this reframing in how Republican politicians criticized Major League Baseball’s decision to pull its All-Star Game out of Georgia over the new voting law, with Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell warning CEOs to “stay out of politics.”
What’s Republicans’ long-term strategy?
nrakich: Many of the new arguments that Republicans are pushing are in bad faith, though. For example, Georgia Gov. Brian Kemp has claimed that Georgia’s new law actually expands voting rights because it allows for more early voting. But that completely ignores the many more objective restrictions in the law, such as less time to request an absentee ballot and the need for absentee voters to provide voter ID — not to mention arguably the most concerning part of the law, the part that gives the state elections board the ability to remove local election officials.
alex: I agree. Republicans’ motivation, long term, seems to be anti-democratic. Even Trump dismissed proposals to make voting easier last year. So now the post-Trump strategy seems to be focused on how best to win elections, and even though Republicans have maybe not explicitly said they don’t think they can do that without overhauling the current system(s) in place, that seems to be what’s happening.
nrakich: McConnell’s request for corporations to “stay out of politics” is also pretty funny — he sounds like Bernie Sanders! What McConnell means, of course, is that he wants corporations to stop disagreeing with him politically. (Corporations have been intimately involved in politics for hundreds of years.)
sarah: It is a difficult position for a party that is traditionally pro-business to adopt this stance, too.
nrakich: Exactly, Sarah; it’s disingenuous. Republicans have historically wanted corporations to be more involved in politics — e.g., when they’ve defended corporations’ right to give money to political campaigns.
julia_azari: I mean, part of the founding ethos of the Republican Party was about creating a strong national economy based on free (as opposed to slave) labor. Nineteenth-century Republicans saw the purpose of government as being able to help American business grow strong.
So I read McConnell’s statement as “stay out of politics that challenge existing power arrangements.”
alex: Isn’t Republicans’ argument with MLB, though, that it’s overstating what Georgia’s law does?
nrakich: What do you mean, Alex?
alex: Maybe my Texas bias is showing, but Gov. Greg Abbott said yesterday that he wouldn’t throw out the first pitch at the Texas Rangers’ home opener after MLB adopted “what has turned out to be a false narrative about Georgia’s election law reforms.” (That’s straight from his statement.)
sarah: Right, Republicans are now attacking Democrats for overplaying their hand in how they’re describing what the laws actually do. But Nathaniel hit on this earlier — while there might technically be a longer early voting period in Georgia now, there is less time to request an absentee ballot and it’s harder to cast an absentee ballot because a voter must provide voter ID.
julia_azari: The inconsistency of the arguments the GOP has been using to defend their position is wild.
nrakich: Yes, Julia, it’s so bizarre! If you truly believe that “voting shouldn’t be easy” is a defensible position, you should make that argument (e.g., on security grounds).
But instead many Republicans are insisting that they are the party expanding voting rights, which suggests that they agree with the premise that restricting voting is the wrong side of the debate to be on.
julia_azari: I think this reveals a key asymmetry (or at least a potential one). Democrats can overplay their hand by stoking outrage in their supporters and end up being lambasted for being wrong or exaggerating. Republicans, on the other hand, don’t seem to suffer repercussions for changing up the logic of their arguments; instead, they seem to have found a strategy in attacking “cancel culture” whenever under scrutiny.
sarah: What’s also so hard to disentangle in laws like Georgia’s is there are really two things happening at once. First, there are actual changes to the voting process, but then there are also changes that affect how elections are administered, and in the case of Georgia, make it easier for politicians to interfere.
Nathaniel mentioned it earlier, but take the part of Georgia’s law that now allows the Republican-appointed state elections board to remove local election officials and essentially remove the secretary of state’s role in ensuring the election was conducted fairly.
We know that in the 2020 presidential election, Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger refused to kowtow to Trump’s demand that he find “11,780 votes,” but now that guardrail is gone.
A lot of what we’re talking about here is moot, though, if Democrats are able to push through their sweeping voting reform bill, H.R.1.
julia_azari: I’m on team “nothing else matters” once we’ve passed a certain anti-democratic threshold. And the provisions on election administration in Georgia’s law are worthy of a lot of attention — even if it’s not clear what they’ll mean in practice.
The period between the 2020 election and the inauguration featured a lot of attempts to mess with the Electoral College votes. There was real drama over certification in Michigan, for instance. You’re seeing a move — even if it’s slight — toward the direction that people shouldn’t actually get to choose their slate of electors or that state legislatures can have a stronger hand in that process. This is like early 19th century stuff.
sarah: Is voting rights something Americans care about, though?
alex: Considering this is something some people fought for the right to do for decades, I’d say yes. Others might have a different answer, though, because not everyone votes.
nrakich: Historically, voting rights hasn’t been an issue that has motivated many voters; it barely cracks the list of the most important problems facing the country, per Gallup polling. It’s hard to get people worked up about wonky provisions like whether people should be able to register to vote on Election Day or sometime before, or whether there should be one week of early voting versus two.
But I think framing these wonky issues as questions of rights and the health of our democracy has the potential to be very motivating. Especially if some voters (i.e., people of color) feel that their rights are being abridged.
alex: And I think that’s what Democrats have been doing so far: framing what’s happening in Georgia and other states as a “Jim Crow 2.0.”
That’s also probably easier to understand — and more motivating — than explaining the nitty-gritty measures in each individual bill.
nrakich: Look at what happened in North Dakota in 2018. The state passed a law that required voter IDs with residential addresses on them — something many Native Americans who live on reservations didn’t have. But the law appears to have backfired; Native Americans were highly motivated to exercise their right to vote in spite of the law, and Native American turnout skyrocketed.
julia_azari: Yeah, this is a pretty well-documented phenomenon. I want to make sure we clarify, though, that we are using this as an illustration of how important voting rights are to people, and not in the sense of “these laws are OK because there’s always countermobilization!” The latter caused so much angst on Twitter over the weekend in response to The New York Times’s Nate Cohn’s analysis of Georgia’s law.
alex: I’m torn on the countermobilization argument, because I’ve seen the same logic used to talk about Black voters (i.e., efforts to make it harder to vote will motivate more people and backfire against Republicans). But people shouldn’t have to surmount unconstitutional hurdles to vote!
I’m not saying you’re making that argument, Nathaniel, I’m just saying I’ve seen a few people argue that voter suppression isn’t real because a turnout gap didn’t/doesn’t materialize as expected.
nrakich: Agreed 100 percent, with both you and Julia. Even if a law doesn’t deter a single person from voting, it might still be restrictive if it imposes additional hardships on existing voters.
For example, even if people are willing to wait hours in line to make sure their vote gets cast, that inconvenience can have non-voting-related consequences, such as having to pay extra for child care or losing out on wages at your hourly job.
sarah: For sure, the most important thing is that people have the right to vote without it being a burden. But I also want to return to this question of electoral impact, because the research is really mixed on it.
Some studies have suggested that absentee voting didn’t help Democrats’ margin in 2020, or as Cohn’s analysis of Georgia’s law suggests — it’s really hard to know whether this will impact turnout negatively in elections moving forward. But something we found in the research for our 2020 forecast was that if we account for changes in how easy it is to vote in each state based on a cost of voting index researchers have put together, states with higher barriers to voting tend to produce better results for Republican candidates while states with fewer barriers tend to lean more toward Democrats.
nrakich: I think a lot of nuance is called for when attempting to answer this question of electoral impacts. Discussions like these often lump different types of voting restrictions (or expansions) together, but not every voting reform is created equal.
For instance, I am persuaded by the studies that show that changes to absentee voting laws are unlikely to change the outcome of an election. But political scientists have found that things like banning/instituting same-day voter registration actually can have significant effects! This thread from political scientist Charlotte Hill was very instructive in that regard:
The idea that making voting easier *won't* improve turnout is one of political science's worst takes. (And to be clear, many political scientists don't buy it.) In this thread, I'll explain why. Buckle up. https://t.co/NH1HH0YYuZ
— Charlotte Hill (@hill_charlotte) April 3, 2021
sarah: It also seems as if making voting easier is becoming an increasingly polarized issue, with far more Republicans now unwilling to say that “everything possible” should be done to make voting easier.
julia_azari: Yeah, on the question of polarization, this debate isn’t necessarily always going to be directly related to which laws help which parties, but rather how voters understand those laws in relation to their own partisan motivations — what they dislike about the other party, how their own identity motivates their partisanship.
This thread from political psychologist Christopher Federico linking support for restrictions to racial attitudes is also useful.
Been digging into the new 2020 ANES release this week, and I got curious as to what might predict negative attitudes toward increasing ballot access. So, I took a look at the ANES items on early voting, voter ID, and felon disenfranchisement. (1/n)
— Christopher Federico (@ChrisPolPsych) April 2, 2021
sarah: Where do you all think the fight over voting rights heads next?
alex: Whether Democrats can actually agree on something and get H.R. 1 passed is a big open question. But there’s also how many of these restrictive bills actually pass and where that leaves Republicans two years down the line.
If Republicans only pass a few dozen of these bills, do they continue pushing for them in future legislative sessions? (I would bet the answer is yes, but I’m curious to see how this progresses over time.)
julia_azari: A couple of questions I have been thinking about: One is the degree to which Trumpism within the Republican Party is about winning elections without winning majorities of the multiethnic electorate, and another is where standard political hardball ends and being anti-democratic begins.
And at the risk of sounding stupid because I know these things are so intertwined at this point, I also wonder how to think about what’s about partisanship versus what’s about race. A really cynical take would suggest that elite Republicans are taking advantage of the salience of these demographic issues in order to produce institutional changes to consolidate power.
nrakich: I just think voting rights is an extremely nuanced issue that requires people to acknowledge a ton of realities all at once.
Some voting restrictions probably don’t affect turnout or who wins.
But others might.
But backlash/countereffects can scramble that calculus too.
But electoral impacts are only one small part of why these laws matter.
They matter in how they affect the convenience of voting too.
Regardless of impact, intent is important (e.g., it matters that Republicans are pushing voting restrictions shortly after losing a major election and crying “voter fraud” about it).
It matters normatively that it has become the position of one of the two main political parties that it should be harder to vote.
Regardless of impact, context is important (e.g., this is not the first time that a state like Georgia has tried to make it hard for certain people to vote).
It’s important to acknowledge the racial impacts/motivations of these laws.
“Voting restrictions” (or “voting expansions”) is an extremely broad term that encompasses a ton of more specific proposals, which should probably be judged on their own merits because they each have different impacts and are just or unjust to varying degrees.

MLB Season 4 Character Analysis: "Mr. Pigeon 72"
Introduction
Hello Reddit, I'm back with another MLB season 4 character analysis. In this series, I analyze the thought processes, emotions and motivations of the characters of Miraculous in every individual episode of season 4 to help the fandom understand the journey of all the characters and what they are all going through.
"Mr. Pigeon 72" was the first episode of Miraculous where things got toned down from all the angst we've been seeing in the past three episodes. It hasn't gotten quite back to the level of a regular episode of Miraculous meaning it's still a good episode which progressed the plot and introduced us to the magical charms that protect people from becoming re-akumatized and Ladybug's new suit which from now on will come back again when she uses her Lucky Charm. Oh yeah, and Mr. Pigeon is akumatized for the 72nd time, as the title suggests so without further ado, let's get into the character POVs.
Character POVs
Marinette/Ladybug
"Apparently, life is not about waiting for the storm to pass but learning to dance in the rain"
So starting off with Marinette, we see her desperately trying to find out some kind of magic that can stop people from becoming akumatized, in her Ladybug form to protect herself from the magical explosions and when Alya tells her that Adrien and Kagami have broken up, Marinette immediately starts worrying about Kagami and how she must be heartbroken instead of being glad that they broke up meaning that Kagami was no longer in the way of her getting with Adrien.
Alya is surprised that Marinette is thinking about Kagami rather than Adrien and Marinette rationalizes this by saying that Kagami has no friends besides her and claiming that she was no longer in love Adrien, although it was in denial of her true feelings. This is yet another sign showing us that Marinette is willing to give up her own happiness for the happiness of others including Adrien and Kagami, similar to "Heart Hunter" and "Miracle Queen". Another reason for this responsible ties back to what happened in "Truth" as the last to she had a boyfriend, it led to him getting akumatized and Marinette lost all hope for romance in the future and that includes Adrien knowing that if she does go after him, it won't mean anything because he would get akumatized just like Luka.
She starts trying to get Kagami back together with Adrien much to Kagami's annoyance who constantly tells her that she no longer has feelings for him. This moment is where we first see Marinette's desire to control everything which is another symptom of PTSD which we know happened due to Cat Blanc and we will continue to see Marinette try to control things in future episodes. She eventually stops after she takes down Mr. Pigeon with the help of Rena Rouge and gives him his magic charm when Kagami tells her that when Kagami tells her that she felt all the things Marinette asked her about feeling for Adrien but from her and Marinette finally accepts her love for Adrien.
On an unrelated note for Marinette's character arc, one thing I want to talk about is when Marinette told Kagami that she knows Adrien's schedule for the next 3 years. People say that this is "stalker behaviour" but when you look into the details, it really isn't. Don't get me wrong, I can completely understand why people would think this is creepy but when you dig deeper, her knowing Adrien's schedule "for the next 3 years" means nothing because:
i) Adrien has a controlling dad who micromanages every part of his life which makes his schedule the same thing day in, day out and whenever he does do something different its all over the news.
ii) She has schedules for all her classmates because Marinette is planner, not a stalker and she plans stuff for her other classmates too using their schedules to see when they are all free and she has Adrien's memorized because it's just easy to memorize because of how repetitive it is.
OK, now that that's out of the way, let's move on.
2. Kagami
"You know Marinette, that whole heart-beating, tingling, knees trembling thing, I felt all that- from you. You're the one blushing and stuttering and saying silly things every time that you see Adrien, you're the one who knows his schedule by heart for the next 3 years. You're right Marinette, Adrien is perfect, he's perfect for you."
Kagami as we see in this episode, she is still a little bit bitter about Adrien lying to him back in the episode "Lies" and gets frustrated from Marinette trying to push her and Adrien back together and you can kinda tell this is getting annoying for her. She tries to be firm with her and tells her that she is no longer in love with Adrien but Marinette keeps making excuses to get her to come and she progressively gets more and more annoyed. At the end of the episode, Kagami becomes an Adrienette shipper and makes Marinette realize that she is the one for Adrien, showing to us that she has completely moved on from him.
That's really all there is for Kagami this episode, since this episode is primarily focused on Marinette and the rest of the characters here probably will have just as brief of an analysis as Kagami.
3. Alya
"You're not alone anymore Marinette, I've got your back"
This episode is the beginning of Alya's hero arc and in this episode she continues to be the great friend she is and tries to get Marinette to do something besides stay in her room all day trying to figure out a solution to re-akumatizations by revealing to her that Adrien and Kagami broke up so now she has a chance to be with Adrien again. It doesn't work in the way she intended it to but she's just glad that she's going outside to get some fresh air and doing something that doesn't involve her superhero life and offers to try figuring out the solution to re-akumatizations for her while she is.
When Mr. Pigeon is akumatized for the 72nd time, she helps Marinette as Rena Rouge by creating illusions of Ladybug and Cat Noir and after Mr. Pigeon is defeated, she is the one to figure out that the only limits to a Miraculous holder's powers are the limits they put on themselves and she was the reason Ladybug got the idea to make magical charms.
4. Xavier
"Do you hear that, my friends? We'll never be Paris's villains again!"
And of course we end off with the akumatized villain of this episode, Xavier a.k.a Mr. Pigeon. For those of you who didn't know, that's his actual name.
This man is tired of getting akumatized and he is just a man who cares deeply about his pigeons as we've seen in previous episodes, that has made him an easy target for Hawk Moth/Shadow Moth. And he get's struck again when the producer Bob Roth puts the blame on him when Gabriel "figures out" that the birds in his son's ad are pigeons and not doves and tells him that he'll get the mayor of Paris to ban pigeons from Paris. When he is de-akumatized again, Rena Rouge figures out how Ladybug can stop re-akumatizations and Ladybug gives her first magical charm to him, he is filled with joy as he will never be a victim of Shadow Moth again.
Conclusion
Well, that's the end of my "Mr. Pigeon 72" character analysis and since this episode focused more on Marinette accepting that she loves Adrien again her section has the most detail. As always, let me know if I missed something in this analysis, I would very much appreciate the feedback and if your a Marinette fan like me join my subreddit.

MLB: Despair Bear: The Meaning of “Nice”
I was not expecting a journaling crowdcast to give me deeper insight into one of my favourite episodes of Miraculous Ladybug, but here we are!
The topic was kindness, and we discussed contrasting kindness with niceness. I’m sure I’m not the only one who’s always cringed during the discussion of “being nice” throughout the episode Despair Bear, right? After all, we have it drummed into us at school to avoid using the word “nice”. When I include it in dialogue in my writing, it’s usually to show a pathetic or insincere attempt at a compliment. One of the things I thought when watching the episode for the first time was that the writers should have used a better word. Like kind.
But I’ve rethought that now.
Tumblr media
The difference between being nice and being kind, to sum up, is that kindness comes from the heart. Niceness is more performative. So in effect, when Chloé is making her attempts to “be nice”, it’s not kindness. It is a performance for Adrien, to convince him to stay her friend.
Yet at the end of the episode, when she allows Butler Jean to stay on, he says “mademoiselle is so kind.” Why the sudden change of adjective? That used to puzzle me.
To try and answer that, I’m delving into my analysis of Chloé’s character and their relationship. My full post on Chloé is here, but to sum up the relevant part, I concluded that her behaviour towards people does not necessarily reflect whether or not she actually likes them. Take Sabrina, for example—Chloé treats her like a slave; yet I can think of two significant moments when she was clearly pleased to have her friend back. (Antibug and Malediktator.)
Tumblr media
In the case of Jean, I think she does care about him. (She would have to be completely heartless not to. And we know she does have a heart. To quote Marinette: “She just doesn’t know how to use it.”) Her behaviour towards him, like with Sabrina, is her abandonment issues speaking—she’s trying to protect herself by keeping them at an emotional distance. (Feel free to read my full analysis if you don’t believe me. I’m not going to go through all of it again in this post.)
Going back to this episode specifically:
So our first instance of the formerly cringy word is when Adrien confronts Chloé: “I’m sorry, Chloé, but I can’t be friends with someone who treats other people this way. You have to be nice to people.”
Tumblr media
Adrien’s known Chloé since they were toddlers. I’m sure he realises that she does have the capability to be kind, very deep down. From the times he’s defended her to his friends, it sounds like he’s been on the receiving end before. But her being kind to other people not going to happen overnight, clearly. So for the moment, he settles on nice—an improvement in her behaviour, to stop her from causing hurt to his other friends (and the rest of the city).
Now to the scene with Jean. This is a character who is kind. He’s clearly stepping really far out of his job description to help Chloé out, and it sounds like that’s nothing new! The very telling line: “I’m sure mademoiselle can remember when she was a little girl; when Mr Cuddly was always nice to mademoiselle when she was sad.”
Tumblr media
Okay, Mr Cuddly (well, Jean rather than the teddy bear, obviously) was most likely being kind rather than nice. But since nice is the word Chloé says she has to be to keep Adrien’s friendship, it’s the one Jean uses. Which is perfectly logical, especially since he follows it up with: “Mr Cuddly can teach you how to be nice to others.”
This time actually meaning ‘nice’. If the episode hadn’t turned out the way it did, I’m willing to bet he would have worked on turning nice into kind. I mean, this was an opportune moment to get Chloé to start thinking about the impact her behaviour really has on other people. (I’ve actually had the idea of exploring that in an AU; this whole realisation about nice vs kind is definitely going to feed into it!)
Tumblr media
I love the slightly pained yet kind of affectionate smile he makes when Chloé declares “Adrien’s going to see just how nice I can be!” I could theorise forever on the thoughts going on in his head at the time, but that’s probably detracting from the point …
And so we have the party. Chloé does not do things by halves, does she? This whole thing is such a performance. One in which she makes several mistakes and has to be prompted by Mr Cuddly/Jean into correcting. Adrien’s clearly proud of her for trying, though I’m sure he realises it’s for selfish reasons. Maybe he also hopes they can build on that.
Tumblr media
Then we have poor Jean’s mistake, unintentionally humiliating Chloé in front of everyone; she loses it and, in the heat of the moment, fires him. I’m also willing to bet she would have taken him back later even if he hadn’t been akumatized. After all …
Tumblr media
I’d go so far as to say ‘family’ rather than ‘household’, actually. Hawk Moth recognises how much Jean actually means to Chloé. Otherwise why specifically target him as well as her parents on Heroes’ Day? I refuse to believe just because they were all together. Okay, rewatching that to get the screenshot, I see it could be because he’s counting on Despair Bear creeping up on her while her parents distract her—but still, he calls them “the Bourgeois family”, not “the Bourgeois and their butler”.
Tumblr media
Back to Despair Bear: during the battle, there’s a moment of course when Chloé sees Ladybug in danger and leaps in to save her. Afterwards she says “Hey, I was really nice then, wasn’t I?”, sounding surprised at herself, and shocking everyone else so much they fall over! But that wasn’t being nice. That was being kind. She acted on her instincts, not because she had an audience. I’m currently working on a post exploring all the moments when Chloé genuinely acted like a hero, and that’s one of them. Of course it inflates her ego afterwards, but the act itself was not for show.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
She continues helping Ladybug afterwards, and here’s where I think the line becomes a bit blurred; I’m not certain how much of the rest of the battle was made on her “look at me, I’m a hero!” high and how much was her still genuinely wanting to help.
But, and here’s where we get to the point of all my discussion of hers and Jean’s relationship, she un-fires him. To which his response is, “Mademoiselle is so kind.” And I think that’s an accurate description. It initially sounds kind of like he’s being a doormat and forgetting (or ignoring) the fact that she fired him in the first place, not to mention the general way she is. But he’s not making a general assessment of her character; it’s a comment on that single decision. Although she starts off with “I think your thing of being nice actually makes some sense,” I also think that’s an excuse. She wants him back. And he recognises that. It’s a decision made from the heart. Ergo, “kind” is accurate.
Tumblr media
I still despair (pun not intended) over Adrien’s complete naivety when it comes to Chloé exacting that promise from him. I saw that coming instantly when I watched the episode for the first time. But now I actually appreciate the meaning behind the usage of the word “nice” in this context rather than the word bugging me, and love the whole episode even more for it.
Huh, I’ve only just noticed the expression Jean makes at the end of the “so kind” scene, after Chloé says her guests “won’t want to miss what’s coming up next!”. I always did wonder about his lack of reaction when Chloé’s exacted her promise from Adrien and waltzes over to criticise her guests’ macaroons. You can see from Adrien’s face he’s guessed what’s coming, but Jean looks … it’s hard to read; initially I thought of it as unconcerned, but now I’m leaning more towards satisfied. He’s already cottoned onto Chloé’s transparent trick, but I suppose is pleased that she and Adrien are friends again at least.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
It’s just occurred to me that there might be significance in the fact that Chloé pushed Jean into the kitchen, away from the audience, before she let off at and fired him. Given how much she loves an audience, and doesn’t normally shy away from being mean to people in public, this is a change! It could be because she doesn’t want Adrien to see her firing Jean. Or it could be because, even though he’s just (unintentionally) humiliated her in front of everyone, she automatically avoids humiliating him in front of everyone, despite how angry she is. Or perhaps a mixture of both.

So ... thoughts?
