Ladybug is actually awful
Throughout the show of Miraculous: Tales of Ladybug and Chat Noir or whatever the full title is we see both main characters act kinda... not so great, but I maintain that the worst of the two, by far, is Marinette/Ladybug herself. Specifically in regards to being a partner to Char Noir.
Yes Chat has his own issues, mostly in terms of constant flirting and asking for a date despite being told no, but he is not nearly as bad as some people say he is.
Now ignoring things like not going to the date which was justified, the NY special thing and the trashcan incident which while not excusable were done in the heat of intense and stressful moments, there are still a LOT of things that Ladybug has done that could qualify as gaslighting, abuse of trust, and just straight up disrespect.
First up is the Grimoire, she never even tells Chat Noir it exists, and even if we say that only Guardians are allowed to read it she still doesn’t bother to tell Chat anything she learns from it that could affect him. I’ll put that as a minor infraction but it plays into some other things.
Second is how even when she learns-- via Alya’s outside perspective-- that the power of a Miraculous can be evolved, altered, and enhanced via imagination and doesn’t have to strictly follow it’s default she again never tells Chat Noir anything about it. Don’t say its a right of passage, she didn’t learn it herself either.
Third, Alya herself. Marinette tells her her secret ID and makes her a permanent holder in Gang of Secrets, but Chat isn’t told for twelve episodes-- a timeframe that is at least two weeks and is likely closer to two (one episode every three in universe days as a lowball still means five weeks) months-- and then only in the form of Ladybug being a no show for a fight and Scarabella taking her place. Now, even if you say there was ‘no way to tell Chat about Scarabella before Marinette had to leave to go to her aunt’s and she tried to get out of it!’ that one doesn’t track because she had time to call Alya, for Alya to go to the bakery, and for the hand off to happen but apparently not enough time to transform and leave a fifteen second voicemail, and two Chat should have been told about Rena being a permanent holder LONG before that because news flash, she is a BIG security risk seeing as Shadowmoth-- or Monarch-- knows her secret ID. Not telling Chat Noir was nothing but disrespect and showcasing distrust in her partner. Then she just gives a placating ‘I won’t abandon you’ to him and everything is all okay because Chat loves her and wants to believe her.
The last thing I’m going to bring up-- though its not the last instance to be found-- is her plan in Ephemeral. There is absolutely NO way to excuse that plan. She emotionally manipulates him and abuses his trust with the express intention of betraying any and all feelings he has for her. She literally uses the line that Chat would only ever give up his ID to her because he loves her. And the only reason she ‘doesn’t go through with it’ is either A) she finds out its Adrien and her simp mode activates so hard she can’t bring herself to react or give up his ID, or B) Time goes crazy and she loses her chance. So really she does go through with it, she did go through with it, and it should not be given a pass.
Ladybug is in fact a toxic partner to Chat Noir who does not respect him, only trusts him as far as using him as a meat shield or a distraction, and actively pushes him aside for practically an entire season before she is forced to start using him again because all the other heroes are no longer available.

There’s 3 types of stopping an Akuma and here’s how:
How I see it there are 3 types of stopping an Akuma. Maybe 4 if you want to be very exact to the tiniest detail but I categorized 2 of them in 1 category because I think they are close enough. This does not include defeating the Akuma and cleansing it with the Ladybug Miraculous.
People oftentimes argue that Chloé has been the very first character to resist an Akuma when others bring up Alya as the first to reject an Akuma but that’s the thing. She was the first to resist an Akuma’s influence but she wasn’t the first to reject an Akuma and she was not the first to repel an Akuma. People tend to treat all of these the same but I think they are different cases and categories.
Now this may be a bit confusing without knowing what I mean by the categories repulsion, resistance and rejection so here are my explanations as to what these categories are supposed to mean and include. (If anyone has better fitting names for the categories I am open for suggestions. Those were the best fitting ones I could come up with but they may not match like I wanted to).
1. Repulsion:
What do I mean by repulsion? Well usually this includes instances where an Akuma does not touch an object and therefore gets repelled.
Examples for this are: Su-Han’s mantra in the season 4 episode Furious Fu. Or that time in the season 3 episode Chameleon where Marinette calmed down before the Akuma could touch her belongings. But I also include instances like in the season 5 episode Revolution where Mister Damocles almost gets akumatized but because of his students encouragment he gets courage again which results in the magical charm manifesting as a shield allowing him to cleanse the Akuma before it could touch anything. But then there is the instance in the season 5 episode Collusion where Miss Bustier manages to cleanse an Akuma through meditation (at least I am assuming that was some form of meditation technique). Yes an object of hers got touched by the Akuma so technically it’s a bit different compared to the other instances but it’s also kinda similar to Damocles case since the Akuma got cleansed so I’d still count it as repelling.
So generally we can summarize this category with characters and instances where characters have calmed down before an Akuma could touch them or when they have cleansed the Akuma. (Those are actually the 2 sub-categories which I have categorized in one category because to me cleansing an Akuma and stopping the Akuma before getting touched are both ways of repelling an Akuma to me.)
There is a bit of a side effect to this tho. While in some cases the Akumas do get cleansed because of meditation or the magical charms, it can also happen that an Akuma instead gets redirected to the next victim because the Akuma hasn’t been cleansed.
2. Resistance
What do I mean by resitance? Well usually this includes instances where an Akuma does manage to touch an object but the target managed to resist the temptation and offer of power. However the Akuma doesn’t get cleansed.
Examples for this are: Chloé Bourgeois resists getting turned into an Akuma Villain even after the Akuma touching her picture by rejecting the temptation and Hawk Moth’s offer for power in the season 3 episode Miraculer. Or Félix Fathom when he resisted getting turned into an Villain even after the Akuma touched his stuff simply by rejecting Shadow Moth’s offer (and Senti!Gabriel’s threats) in the season 4 episode Gabriel Agreste.
However because the Akumas don’t get cleansed they just target a new victim so someone else gets turned into an Akuma instead.
3. Rejection
What do I mean by rejection? Well usually this includes instances where an Akuma manages to akumatize the target and fall under some semblance of mind control (since Akuma Villains do tend to act in a way the target would never have acted like without the Akumas influence). However the target eventually manages to break free from that control and manages to deakumatize themselves.
Examples for this are: Alya Césaire in the season 4 episode Gang of Secrets, when Alya managed to break free and turn herself back from Lady Wifi into Alya. Nino Lahiffe in the season 4 episode Rocketear, when Nino managed to break free and turn himself back from Rocketear to Nino. Chloé Bourgeois in the season 4 episode Penalteam, when Penalty got sick of her clones and eventually turned herself back into Chloé. Kagami Tsurugi in the season 5 episode Perfection, when an akumatized Kagami sees how much other people actually care about her. She breaks free from the Akumas control in that moment and managed to turn herself back from Ryukomori into Kagami. Lila Rossi/Cerise (or whatever her name is. I’ll call her Lila for simplicity) in the season 5 episode Revelation, when she manages to deakumatize herself from Hoaxer to Lila after she got the information she wanted from Nathalie.
What I’ve also noticed about the instances in this category is that the characters seem to retain their memories from when they have been akumatized which is something that usually never happens after getting deakumatized. Usually characters are disoriented and don’t remember anything but whenever a character manages to deakumatize themselves they seem to know where they are and what happened. Take Lila as an example. She smirked right after deakumatizing herself like she knew exactly what she did. Or Alya, she didn’t look confused at all and could instantly respond to Ladybug’s comments which is something that Akuma Victims usually never do due to the disorientation and confusion. They usually take a moment to collect their thoughts and realize where they are or why they could be there meanwhile Alya didn’t take that time. She only took a little time to catch her breath. Or Kagami who seemed to remember what happened while she was Ryukomori. It’s similar like with Alya where she didn’t seem disoriented at all and she didn’t seemed confused on why Marinette’s classmates where there with a big picture of Kagami. It was like she knew exactly what happened similar as Alya and Lila.
Anyway…
There really are differences between how a character may stop an Akuma from targeting them.
Anytime someone brings up the characters that have rejected an Akuma there is always someone who brings up Chloé Bourgeois. The character who had a picture touched by an Akuma in the season 3 episode Miraculer and then resisted the Akuma’s influence by rejecting Hawk Moth’s offer for power. People keep bringing up Chloé was the first to resist an Akuma. And that is true but the problem is that they throw it into the same category as repulsion and rejection. How I see it’s not the same thing so I don’t think Chloé should be brought up when people talk about characters who have rejected an Akuma. Same thing the other way around. And same thing with characters who have repelled Akumas. Characters like Alya should not be brought up when talking about characters who have resisted an Akuma. At least not if you are trying to say they are the same thing. It would be like trying to compare apples and pears.
Even if we would act like repulsion, resistance, and rejection are all the same thing, Chloé would still not be the first to stop an Akuma from targeting herself. In that case, it would be Marinette who was the first to stop an Akuma from targeting herself since the season 3 episode Chameleon (in Chameleon Marinette managed to stop the Akuma from targeting her by calming down) was canonically before the season 3 episode Miraculer (in Miraculer an Akuma landed on a picture Chloé was holding and Cloé managed to resist the Akuma’s influence by rejecting Hawk Moth’s offer for power). However like I previously said these are not the same thing. Yes generally speaking all 3 are ways to stop an Akuma from targeting a specific person but they are different ways to do that. Some stop the Akuma from targeting only one person, others stop the Akuma from targeting everyone and the rest stop the Akuma from controlling someone (which kind of is also a form of targeting in a sense. Maybe not the traditional way but it is kinda targeting someone if you try to control them). I don’t want to treat them the same because to me they are not the same. If we go as a whole then yes, Marinette would be the first to stop an Akuma without explicitly using the Ladybug Miraculous. Chloé would be second, and Alya would be 3rd. However, if we divide this into sub-categories like I did Marinette is the first to repel, Chloé is the first to resist and Alya is the first to reject. It just makes more sense to me to divide them into separate categories.

Note from the author: “So... I am not a writer by any means, I apologize if my writing is a little odd. This is the first Fan fic I've ever posted on this site. Basically I asked on Reddit awhile ago if anyone had written a story based on this idea, after awhile I just decided to do it myself.”
This story is *really good, especially* for a first. It’s a season four rewrite, but Marinette reveals to Chat Noir after Gang of Secrets instead of Alya.
And can I just add that I think the author treats Alya with respect, even as she’s rewritten out of much of the story. Alya hears Marinette’s hurt, respectfully gives Marinette space, and takes her advice and starts investigating Lila...

MLB Season 4 Character Analysis: "Gang of Secrets" (+Call to all Marinette Stans)
Introduction
Back again with episode 3 of season 4, "Gang of Secrets" and as you know from the title I have something for my fellow Marinette stans but you'll have to read until the end of the post to find out what it is or you could just scroll all the way to the bottom and see what it is. In this series, I analyze the POVs of all the characters of MLB in every individual episode of season 4, helping the haters understand these characters' thought processes, emotions and motivations and now we are on the episode.
This episode... man, this episode was the turning point of early season 4. It showed us that season 4 is not afraid to take big steps and change the status quo, unlike the previous three seasons. This episode became my favourite episode of the series when it came out and I'm sure it was the favourite episode of a majority of the fandom as well. It may not have given us the reveal, but it did give us a reveal and that really is something for the fandom. Not only did this episode give us a reveal, but it also gave us tons of character moments, most prominently for Marinette but its still a lot. I am going to have fun talking about this one so let's get started.
Character POVs
Marinette/Ladybug
"If I tell you, things will never be the same between us again, it will mess up everything maybe even destroy it!"
Marinette this episode... my poor baby 😭! I just wanna give this girl a hug, this is by far the most I've felt for her since "Truth" which isn't a very long time but still.
This episode starts with Ladybug and Cat Noir once again saving Paris from Shadow Moth and we can see that the stress of being Guardian is getting to her which makes sense since the job of a guardian is something that requires your full attention with zero distractions and that includes your social life. Just look at Master Fu, he was taken away from his family at around the same age Marinette was just so he could have his full attention on being the guardian of the Miraculous and after his accident, he felt the need to isolate himself from everyone due to the enormity of the guilt he felt for his mistake and due to that this is exactly what he taught Marinette and in this episode we see her falling down the same spiral.
Cat Noir offers to take her some place where there is "no talking" and it turns out to be the movies which we've seen him talk about in previous episodes like "The Dark Owl" and "Timetagger". Ladybug of course is not pleased that Cat Noir used her poor emotional state to take her to the movies and she yells about how the romantic drama they're watching is "unrealistic" comparing it to her own love life, unbeknownst to Cat Noir. This of course requires him to take her away so as to not disturb others. Ladybug, still spiraling further into insanity tries to remain cheery in the hopes that if she acts happy, she'll feel happy and suggests that they go swimming.
After returning back to her room, she decides its best for her to stay Ladybug so as to be ready whenever another akuma/amok attack happens. One of the kwamis remind her that Tikki could be drained on energy and out of worry for her kwami and friend, she reverts back to Marinette asking her if she is OK. Tikki gives us facts by saying that she'll be fine but Marinette should be more worried about herself.
Meanwhile, Marinette's friends are worried about her and decides to go confront her about what is bothering her like great friends they are while Marinette decides that the best way to handle everything is to give up her civilian life and be Ladybug all the time but fortunately her friends came before she could go too far and she was forced to transform back to preserve her secret identity but when she saw Rose about to discover the Miracle Box she went into a panic and pushed her away and lashed out at them for invading her privacy. Her friends try to comfort her by trying to let her know that they can tell her anything but Marinette, knowing the importance of secret identities, knows she can't do that and hastily makes up the excuse that she no longer wants friends which succeeded in making them leave but at the cost of losing her friends, making her go into a depressed state.
This leads to her friends being vulnerable to Shadow Moth and get akumatized into their classic forms and become the Gang of secrets, a group of supervillains determined to find out what Marinette is hiding. Marinette is forced to deal with the consequences of her mistake by fighting her friends. She manages to capture Lady Wifi and is able to convince her to fight off Shadow Moth's influence and de-akumatize herself and with her becoming Rena Rouge, her, Ladybug and Cat Noir defeat the rest of the Gang of Secrets together.
After Marinette's friends were de-akumatized, Marinette corrected her mistake by telling her friends that she is not ready for love yet and is OK with friendship for now. After her friends leave, Alya stays behind, knowing her BFF too well to be fooled. Marinette breaks down in front of Alya telling her she is afraid of revealing her secret as she was afraid that it could change everything between them or even destroy their friendship. After getting support from Alya, Marinette puts herself first for once and reluctantly tells Alya her identity because she knows she needs help. The episode ends for her with Alya giving Marinette that hug I've been wanting to give her the whole episode.
Man, that was the longest Marinette section I've ever had. Well, since we're done with it now, let's move on to the other characters
2. Alya
"If it's too big, two of us can handle it better than one"
Make way for Alya who was a legend this episode. Not really that much on character moments for this episode but a very supportive best friend and I thought I should mention it.
Alya, like Marinette's other friends, were worried about her after her break up with Luka and wanted to make her feel better. Marinette of course had to preserve her secret identity so she had to drive her along with the rest of her friends away and this led to her akumatization into Lady Wifi as part of the Gang of Secrets due to feeling hurt about losing her best friend but when Ladybug captured her and reminded her of of how Ladybug and her as Rena Rouge trust each other even though they have to keep secrets from each other and this gave Lady Wifi the strength of will to de-akumatize her self back into Alya and together, with her as Rena Rouge, they defeat the rest of the Gang of Secrets.
When Marinette told her and the rest of her friends that she wasn't ready for love yet and wanted to stick with friendship for now she knew that Marinette didn't tell them everything and stuck around to try to help her. When Marinette breaks down, she comforts her and tells her that she can help her if the burden of her secret is too big and when Marinette revealed to her that she was Ladybug, instead of fangirling over the fact that she finally found out who her idol is, she embraced her when she needed it like the amazing friend she is.
3. Marinette's friends
"I really thought it would work"
Now, last but not least, Marinette's friends, who were the akumatized victims this episode. Seeing that their friend Marinette was sad and broke up with Luka, they decided that they use a special bracelet suggested by Mylene to let Marinette know that she can tell her BFFs anything and they can help her with anything.
But since Marinette was Ladybug, she couldn't tell them, their idea failed and they left, depressed that they lost one of their friends just because she wouldn't tell her secret. This made them vulnerable to Shadow Moth and akumatized them into the Gang of Secrets who want nothing but to get their friend back and find out her secret. After getting de-akumatized, Marinette apologized to them and explained to them that she just wasn't ready for love and wanted to stick with friendship for now. Her friends gladly believed (except Alya) and accepted this let her know that they will be ready to make a complicated plan to get with whoever she wants whenever she's ready giving a happy ending for them.
Conclusion
Well, that's the end of what I like to call the angst trio and its more or less smooth sailing from here for all our favourite characters, at least until the final stretch of season 4. Now for the surprise: It's really hurtful seeing your favourite character get salted on social media and any Marinette stan would know this. So I thought, what if there was a place where all Marinette stans can exist in peace on Reddit and I created this. If you agree with what the name of the subreddit says then you're welcome to join the community. I just made it so everything isn't set up but when I get time I'll work on those other things as well.
So that's it. Like last time, if I missed anything in this analysis, let me know.

Note
The difference between Amphibia/TOH and Miraculous in terms of girl power is that the first just treats girls like any other gender while MLB tries to make girls better than other genders and still ends up making the show revolve around boys in specific.. somehow
Yeah ML very much outdated progressiveness
Sure there's the surface level "feminism" by having the girl save the day every time, but it's surrounded by boys being the focus and getting special treatment.
Like you can't claim to be a girl power show while also having all the prominent girls snarl at each other over a boy. Or redeem men who are racist, bigoted and straight up abandoned their families, while claiming two teenage girls are irredeemable. Or have all the prominent female characters (except Alya) be motivated by male attention.
Look at any interaction Marinette has with another girl, it's almost always about Adrien. Either doing something for him, to get his attention, or just talking about how amazing he is. When's the last time we saw Marinette and Alya having a girl's day out, or cramming for a test together, or baking together. Nope, all their quality time spend together must be focused on Adrien. Gang Of Secrets, I salute you.

MLB - Season 4 - Episodes 2 and 3
Lies
Sad kitten is sad.
Her mom is literally blind, I don't think she gets an opinion on this one.
Are we getting like the same episode from two different POVs? Or just a part of it?
Oh no, he lost the lucky charm.
Well, those ships lasted all of five seconds.
Gang of secrets
No intro?
Chat Noir had a bad plan.
Marinette is being very normal about this.
"Rabbit check"? What.
Marinette is about to make a huge mistake. I can feel it.
Oh god, this is gonna be a "This is fine" episode, huh?
And there it is. The huge mistake.
She made them a dollhouse, this is adorable.
Timebreaker, sweatie, are you aware that what you're doing literally kills people?
These girls are getting scary good.
Fucking hell, good on Alya.
Girl needed to get this shit out of her chest. And if anyone is going to be able to keep it a secret, it's going to be the girl who just managed to fight off Hawkmoth while being actively akumatized (yeah, I'm deadnaming because fuck him).

SHIP STUFF
Put your money on ladynoir, kids
On the merits of imperfection (why ladrien is my favourite side of the love square)
The innage tragedy of ladrien, and why I love it
So here’s the thing: (from the perspective of character growth, reversing the love square makes no sense)
To phrase this better than I did so late at night that it was technically morning: (lukanette is a masterclass in the crucial difference between showing and telling)
The NYC special might’ve sunk lukanette before it ever had the chance to happen
if we’re using “friendship is more important than a celebrity crush” to argue against the love square…
On shipping dynamics within the love square, mainly marichat vs. ladrien
ADRIEN AGRESTE MY BELOVED
Adrien Agreste and the limelight
Adrien Agreste and the question of unmasking
Some speculation about Gabriel’s possible ways out of being Hawkmoth and how they will affect Adrien
To cross your DNA with something reptile (on sentiadrien, because who needs narrative logic when you can have angst)
Being the topic du jour and all (the show has already shown that getting his amok can’t be a ~beautiful metaphor~ for sentiadrien’s freedom)
If sentiadrien is meant to be a commentary on child abuse then someone has no idea how stories work (spoiler: it’s not, because abuse is funny on this show)
SPOILER: I’M A CHLOÉ STAN I GUESS
Ending Chloé’s story as a villain would be a vaste of screentime and that’s why they shouldn’t
This be the verse (let’s just say I’m less than impressed with how early S4 handled the Bourgeois family drama)
Some more Zoé meta
Let’s talk narratological theory to explain why Chloé is an abused child in the text even if the creator insists she isn’t
WHY LUKA ISN’T MY FAVOURITE CHARACTER
Spoiler: Luka Isn’t A Great Character Yet (written in response to some people’s very low standards after “Truth” aired)
In fact he’s so poorly written that he’s pretty much an unintentional parody
Overthinking things (they don’t mean it like that but I saw some uncomfortable sexist themes to Luka’s akuma powers, both times)
Can we please stop blaming Marinette for Luka being a simp
MIXED BAG
Paper faces on parade (comparing and contrasting Marinette Dupain-Cheng and Gabriel Agreste)
On the feminist merits of MLB
The Scarf Came Back (on “Mr. Pigeon 72″ and the meaning of its many callbacks to early S1)
Related: S4 and “Gorizilla”
Jagged Stone is… (a spoiled manchild who’d be an awful parent if he’d stuck around and they were better off without him)
“Gang of Secrets” was underwhelming and that’s a problem
I finally realised where my entire problem with “Gang of Secrets” lies
Right now my main hope for S4 is that I’ll come out of it shipping alyanette like it’s going out of style (this show should’ve put more effort into Alya like three seasons ago)
MLB and the bad rich people
Some observations and a poor attempt at analysing the depiction of wealth in Miraculous: Tales of Ladybug and Cat Noir
No, Marinette isn’t a Mary Sue (because I refuse to acknowledge linguistic drift and “Mary Sue” does not mean what you think it means)
Etymology ragepost, MLB edition
This show just can't up the stakes in battle
NOT REALLY META BUT STILL
Chloé should discover Cat Noir’s identity it’d be great
I also really want Felix to become a gentleman thief
What if all the heroes knew everyone’s identities except Cat Noir’s, wouldn’t that be super fun and not at all heartbreaking
My ideas for the Secret Sibling were way better than who it turned out to be tbh
Did you know that I have a tag devoted to Kagami being a fujoshi
Outline of the Hikaru no Go AU someone else should totally write
“Puppeteer 2″ was a microcosm of the Cat Noir-Ladybug-Nino-Alya mess of S4
Marinette is canonically bi in the Norwegian dub
GOING OFF ON OTHER PEOPLES’ POSTS
The Umbrella Scene Redux in the NYC special wasn’t about Adrien falling for Marinette but a foreshadowing of the importance of friendship going onward
Adrien’s pain lies not in unrequited love, but projecting his abandonement issues onto Ladybug
A small but heartfelt declaration to adrigami
When you have to make your characters repeatedly insist that someone is so totally in love, it’s not coming across as totally convincing to your audience
tl;dr I suspect that the reason marichat is so popular and ladrien is correspondingly disliked is about gender roles, actually
On marichat and ladrien and romance tropes
No really, ladrien is stupid and that’s why I love it
The Reveal is supremely unlikely to happen before the deciding battle against Gabriel and if it does, they won’t get together before it anyway
MLB’s got a bit of a genre problem and that’s why the plot cannot ever move
Chloé is the Loki of the MLB fandom and given how much attention the show proper gave her compared to the rest of the secondary cast, Thomas Astruc has no right to be surprised about it
Chloé can’t be Queen Bee again before she realises that she doesn’t need to be Queen Bee to do good things
More Chloé analysisin’: An irredeemable character wouldn’t need a three-episode storyline to explain her reluctant fall for the villain
Some people finding the sentiadrien narrative a healing parable about emotional abuse does not stop it from functionally annulling the actual emotional abuse the show depicted

MIRACULOUS LADYBUG ZE CONFUSION !
In the episode Gang of Secrets Miraculous: Marinette lashes out on her friends and causes an Akumatization. BUT! This part confuses me.
“Cat Noir mentioned him and Ladybug saving Marinette several times and yet everyone seems to like her; he could be referencing to "The Evillustrator", "Gamer", "Befana", "Glaciator" and "Truth" or it could be that he's referring to that maybe Marinette was the reason for several akumatizations prior to this episode.” I don’t get it, what is chat noirs point? Is he saying she is to blame for the akumatization, or what? I really don’t understand- please help a confused girl out😭😭 #ladybug #miraculous #MLB #miraculousladybug #chatnoir

Thanks guys for the help of some you do know what this meant :)

Doing a thing: MLB characters as avatars of the fears (may do a part 2 at some point)
Maribug: definitely the lonely, especially in S4. She thought all her problems were because of being in love with Adrien and closed herself off from everyone around her, especially in gang of Secrets, she doesn't necessarily fear being alone but she creates loneliness via her fear of failure etc
Adrichat: THE WEB. Adrien's biggest fears and hates are being controlled, and one of his biggest plotpoints is being controlled by his father. Cat noir is his escape and we even see his biggest fear as Adrien in sandboy is being locked up. He is petrified of standing up to his father as much as he is terrified of being controlled by him
Renalya: I honestly can't find much for her, but I've tried ruling out ones that I didn't think fit and I came to the conclusion that she fits under the stranger (sort of). Alya never wants anything between her and marinette and her and nino to change. She can't keep secrets from him and all the changes in the ones close to her she has commonly been unnerved by (again, big stretch but I could barely find anything to work with). We see her be akumatised in s4 because things between her and marinette changed for the worse.
Lila: the spiral. Not because she's afraid of this necessarily, but because it fits so well with her character. She was introduced as what we can assume a villainous character with little motivation that would use lies and manipulation to turn people against the protagonist. Her goal as an antagonist perfectly complements the spiral in that she thrives off her own deception and makes everyone else suffer the consequences. Even now we see Marinette suffering and terrified because of her deception

In episode one of this season, Chat Noir showed great initiative- pushing Ladybug out of the way when she was hit by Truth, coming up with a great plan to ensure she wouldn’t reveal anything when she had to take the muzzle off. I was happy to see him being portrayed as the equal he is instead of comedic relief. I hoped that it would set the tone for the rest of the season/series but obviously that was not the case. The creators gave us ONE episode of him being so extremely vital to the deakumatization and another episode revolving Adrien’s POV because they intended to significantly decrease his involvement after that.
Beautiful execution on their part. I’m obviously disheartened to see our cat boy feeling the effects of exclusion now that Alya knows, but episodes one and two being about Adrien/Chat Noir make so much more sense now. I was naive to think they had just decided to prioritize him more and give us more powerful Chat Noir/Adrien content. I’m excited to see what’s next.

[ mlb spoilers: s4 - ep 11 || guiltrip ]
Did i just finish the new mlb episode? Yes I did.
Was it worth the wait? ...kinda, but not really.
Pig miraculous? Absolutely adorable.
It's powers? I feel like it could do more damage than good. We were lucky Juleka's wish was so doable because, idk, imagine if Adrien was akumatized: how tf are you gonna bring someone back from the dead/wake up from a coma? Or just make someone to pay attention to him/love him? If you show that to him he's just gonna get more melancholic / sad / irritated.
Did Rose's sickness surprise me? Yeah it did, but because it was never fucking implied.
But on a positive note I absolutely respect the shit out of rose now.

Alya knows is lowkey my favorite trope in ml fanfictions so I'm really excited
I really would like her to know also about Adrien but that would be too much
But IMAGINE the shenanigans oh god
