Clandestine Chapter 12 💗
Happy Only You Sango Week! 💕
To kick things off, @skyelara & I are thrilled to give you the next installation of Clandestine! Read it ✨here✨ today!
For today's Roots theme from @only-you-sango-week, we focused on the meaning of the Hiraikotsu to Sango and what she might be feeling when it breaks in Episodes 44-45.
Tumblr media
(New banner still in the works, but enjoy this one for now so at least we don't end up in banner jail again 😂)
We've decided that, in order to get more frequent updates, we're returning to Clandestine's roots as a drabble series. But don't worry, there's still plenty of saucy and secret moments to come.
Check out today's preview below the cut 😊
As one last treat, I have also recently received this STUNNING commission of Clandestine from the wonderful @eliza-faust-diary 🤩 It takes place a bit before today's chapter, and shows an incredible stolen moment from our favorite monk and slayer 💕
Tumblr media
The pieces clattered uselessly to the ground around the possessed swordsmith. A gasp escaped her lips at the sight. Her weapon crashed to the ground, torn in two. A sudden pang of grief grasped her heart, squeezing, as she felt her heart split the same as her weapon had. Eyes trained on her now useless weapon, her lungs ceased to work.
She didn’t truly understand the devastation she’d felt at the time, but now it was clear.
Hirakotsu was so much more to her than a simple weapon. It was who she was. It was her very foundation as a demon slayer and a cherished remnant of a previous, happy life in the slayers’ village.
She reached down to collect the ruins of her beloved weapon, her shaky palms brushing against the cool bones. The voices of her chattering friends reached her ears from across the open field. They were unaware of her plight, caught up in their deliberation of how to proceed with the dangerous sword, whose evil still lingered even after its master had perished.
Tears streamed silently down her face as she ran her hand over the smooth rift of the weapon where Tokijin had split it in half. She was careful not to make too much noise, lest she attract the prying eyes of her friends. She knew, of course, how much they cared for her by now, but she really did prefer to grieve alone.
It was bad enough that Miroku had caught her crying in her moments of sorrow. She didn’t need the others to also see the weakness in her heart, as well. She didn’t need them to see how she wasn’t strong enough to protect her allies. Her friends. After all, she had just been so helplessly injured in the aftermath of their last battle. First it was Kanna, slinging her weapon back at her, like she was a child again, training for the first time. Now her weapon, the very source of her strength, was struck down without so much as making a strike against her enemy.

Forgive Me, Hiraikotsu
Written for @loveofmirsan Mirsan Week 2023 — Day 3 Leather 🪃 Set after Episode 12 of Inuyasha: The Final Act, Sango works on attaching the leather binds on Hiraikotsu after almost losing her prized weapon for good.
Tumblr media
Check out on AO3 here!
Sango sat cross-legged on the soft grass near a tranquil stream, carefully attaching the leather bindings to her newly restored Hiraikotsu as her companions set up camp nearby. The sun was beginning to set, casting a warm, orange glow over the land. It had been a long and emotionally charged day, etching memories that seemed to linger.

Happy Mirsan week!!! I decided to go with the prompt paper that @loveofmirsan had for Day 1 (albeit, a day late). And with that, I am FINALLY updating 273, where we are dealing with the aftermath of a very drunk Sango.
Chapter 17: Will You Go On a Date With Me?
Sneak peak below <3
--------------
“What do you mean?” Sango lifts her head slowly, eyebrow raised. “Why shouldn’t I go on my phone?”
“Inuyasha.”
“What?” he barks, sitting down with his arms crossed. He leans back, chair teetering. “She was bound to find out sooner or later.”
“Find out what?” Sango demands, the pieces of her heart picking up speed in her chest.
Kagome supplies with hesitation, “You…kinda ended up on the front page of the paper.”

Ponytail/Brown
For day 4 of @weekofmirsan!
Word count: 100
Sometimes when she really wanted to drive him crazy, she kept her hair up in her ponytail.
All day it would swing around behind her as she walked and worked, brown hair gleaming in the sun, and he would watch it, watch her, flames of love and lust smoldering in his soul as he waited for the sun to go down.
The village would fall asleep around them, and the moon would climb higher and higher as she slowly puttered around tidying up, a smirk on her face and a swing in her hips.
And then finally she was his.

Chapter Update!
Chapter 5 of “Pictures of Happiness” is live! Follow the link below to check it out on AO3. In addition, I’m currently working on a cover banner for this first section of the story, so here's the line art and flat colours completed tonight. Look forward to this completed as well as more chapters to come!

Even now as she sat there in class, she was coming up short on things to say. She was quickly approaching the point of needing to send something, anything, or not send anything at all. For the remaining 20 minutes of the class, she would compose a text and take her notes. Will the message be written in haste and perhaps come off a little reckless? Perhaps. She just needed to open the door and step through it.
[SENT 15/03 9:20A.M.] – Good morning! Hey, it’s Kagome! I got your number from Miroku, I hope that’s okay. I wanted to reach out and tell you that I had a lot of fun last night and I’m happy you were there.
Well, there it was. Not bad overall. She took a moment as she stood just outside the lecture hall she had just left and looked at the sent message. She wasn’t expecting anything in return; Miroku had made it quite clear that he doesn’t respond to any text messages in a timely manner. She smiled inwardly before tucking her phone away and headed towards her next destination to ready herself for her next class.
Until next time!

Things to Keep Summary: There were others who loved and needed Kagome even though InuYasha was meant to be with her. He knew this, but gods, the cost of it. A one-shot that was edited and polished to shine just for its 2nd Anniversary.
A/N: Two years ago today, I thanked a close friend for inspiring me with a dream she had because every day InuYasha spent without Kagome must've felt like an unending dream. A few months ago, I polished up "Things to Keep" and submitted it for a Rumic Fanzine project. Unfortunately it was rejected since I'd already published a previous version, but I still wanted to give this piece back to you because I'd fallen in love with my edits. And more than that, I knew you guys loved the original enough to nominate it for the 2021 2nd Quarterly Inuyasha Fandom Awards and you believed in it enough for the story to win third place in the best one shot category. Thank your support back then (and now, too!), and I hope you enjoy reading this special version, taking note of all the little changes.

Things to Keep (Anniversary Version)
InuYasha lounged under the shade of one of many trees lining the river near Kaede’s village. Miroku washed his family’s night robes with Gyokuto strapped to his back while Sango burped Kin’u. It’d been over a year since the well sealed. InuYasha still thought about the surprised look on Kagome’s face when he was pulled down the well, but he preferred to remember her safe in her mother’s arms. It was difficult to do.
Kin’u burped and, within seconds, Sango had the newborn secured to her back. She knelt next to Miroku, telling him she’d take over as if she never stopped. InuYasha’s ear flicked. Despite catching their conversations more often, Sango’s tone was gentler than the half-demon was used to hearing. Miroku switched roles effortlessly, choosing to trade Sango’s clean pieces of laundry for dirty ones.
And this was how they all lived now: resting by the greenery and exchanging cloth instead of sutras, oversized boomerangs, arrows, and swords. InuYasha wondered if Kagome’s days were boring like his; she always seemed frantic when he came to pick her up. Maybe she didn’t have time to think about them anymore. It would be easier for her that way.
Miroku shifted, putting InuYasha in Gyokuto’s line of vision. The newborn extended her arm out to him, and he was fascinated by the way her fingers flexed. The spaces between them were bigger than last month, putting him in a rotten mood. He hated seeing more of the world through those tiny fingers; it just meant the days Kagome spent here were getting smaller than the time they spent apart—if those types of things could even be compared. InuYasha had never really been around human babies before, so how was he supposed to know whether or not the emptiness Kagome left was even similar to babies growing up? The half-demon sharply turned away to offer Kin’u a passing glance instead. It’d be easier to watch that icicle of drool fall onto Sango’s back.
The spring sun warmed everything in its path, something that only InuYasha’s legs understood while he lounged.
Now Kin’u was gurgling, gnawing on her fist.
Miroku once told him how remarkable it was that he always knew which twin was which, but the monk must’ve forgotten about InuYasha’s nose. The girls looked the same, but their scents were unique. It was kind of like Kikyo and Kagome’s: similar but only on the first sniff.
The afternoons were getting longer again.
The sun’s reflection on the river’s surface shone like a beam now, hitting InuYasha right in the eyes. He blinked a few times, scowling. Damn thing made it nearly impossible to get a good look at that fibrous white towel, the one with the unmistakable blue polka dots that Sango was taking from Miroku.
As if possessed by a demon, InuYasha was there. Standing by the river, standing before Sango. ....

been struggling with finding any inspiration this week to write, but this little soulmate one shot came to me in a dream, haha. now, i can get back to writing smut, muhahaha. enjoy lovelies!💕
“Ah, it seems Lord Kouga and his mate, Lady Ayame, have invited us to the Summer Solstice Festival this year to welcome their first litter of cubs.” Lady Izayoi hummed, flitting through the stack of letters as Prince Inuyasha rolled his eyes. Their home always stinks. Maybe I can come up with some kind of excuse to not go.
“Son, do not roll your eyes at your mother.” Lord Toga pursed his lips without ever looking up, continuing to write out responses to the never ending letters and proposals from various kingdoms. How did he..? “And you are coming, no excuses.”
Sighing, he crossed his arms and slid father down his seat, catching his brother’s smirk. Bastard.
“Inuyasha, maybe this time you will finally get to discuss things with Lord Koga.” Inuyasha wanted to swipe the knowing grin off his face, but clenched his jaw instead. The last time he brawled with his older brother, the asshole almost put a gaping hole in his gut.
“Sesshomaru, stop teasing your brother. You will be attending as well and I expect you both to be on your best behavior.” Toga looked up, giving both of them a stern look that said “If you don’t, I will be the one to punish you.”
“Yes, Father.” They replied in usion.
“Sesshomaru dear, how is Kagura?” Izayoi smiled, her tactic of changing the subject relieving to him. Inuyasha glanced down at the small stack of invitations in front of him, the idea of reading each one exhausting and tedious. It was debut season and while he himself had been announced years ago, many courts were reaching out with their own invitations and secretly hoping he would choose their princess as a bride.
“She is doing fine, resting as much as possible. I expect her to give birth in two month’s time.”
Inuyasha tuned out their conversation, gazing out the window. It was nearly sundown and Miroku and Sango should be back soon, after visiting her family for the day. His cousin had managed to find his soulmate pretty early on and even though Sango was hesitant at first, Miroku never strayed. The monk’s still a flirt, but he’s loyal to her.
Hell, his parents and even his brother and sister-in-law were soulmates. While it was a little different for demons, they had mates. Someone they could bind their life span to, a bond that couldn’t be ignored. He had even heard of mates sharing emotions and similar thoughts, that’s how strong the bond was.
He sighed, his heart aching for his own as he leaned on his arm rest, propping his chin up with his fist. Being a prince was great and all, his father encouraged him to learn about more than just the typical Lordly duties, and that he even declared Inuyasha could marry whomever he wanted, title or no title. Even with all of that, he was still the only one around that didn’t seem to have a soulmate. Maybe it was because he was a hanyou, he didn’t know. All he did know was that it was lonely sometimes.
A flash of dark hair, followed by the softest of giggles, appeared in his mind. Straightening, he looked around, his brows furrowed in confusion.
“Inuyasha, is everything alright?” Toga glanced his way, sealing a letter with the royal wax seal. Shaking his head, Inuyasha muttered he was fine, wondering just who that was.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Three days passed and Inuyasha was still confused about the woman popping up in his thoughts at the most inconvenient times. First, it was her hair and laughter, then he swore he could smell her, the faintest scent of wildflowers fluttering across his senses. A brief glimpse of pouty lips or a cute button nose. Sometimes it would be a whisper of his name, causing him to shiver. It wasn’t until he saw her chestnut gaze while he was eating dinner with his family that he knew something was going on.
“Mother, can you tell me again how you knew Father was your soulmate?” He prompted, taking a bite of the garlic chicken.
“I’ve told you that story about a dozen times and you still don’t remember?” Izayoi giggled as Toga patted her hand, proudly smiling.
“Can you tell me once more?” He asked once more, earning looks from everyone.
“I would love to hear it as well, Aunt Izayoi.” Miroku added and Rin agreed, her little smiling dazzling.
“Of course dears, let me start at the beginning. I was enjoying a lovely afternoon in my garden at my Father’s palace. You all know my dear husband was traveling back and forth between Lady Kimi’s home and our own, discussing matters about Sesshomaru when that very afternoon, I found myself staring into the koi pond with the brightest of golden eyes staring right back at me. I thought I was dreaming!” She laughed, Kagura and Toga smiling at her. “It took me a minute to realize that I wasn’t staring at my own, but his. That was the first time I knew my heart belonged to someone else’s.”
“Now, the thing is, human’s eyes rarely have any strange color, so I knew this man wasn’t human, but I didn’t care. From that day on, I searched everywhere I went for golden eyes. After about a week, I saw flashes of silver as I looked in my reflection, but I never stopped searching.” She continued on, “I found out later, I usually saw images of him whenever he was close, as he would fly over my home whenever he was traveling.”
“I also saw flashes of her in my mind as well, but it took me a little longer to put two and two together.” Toga chuckled, intertwining his hand in hers. “After a few months of traveling and getting Sesshomaru situated, my youkai would call out to her and it was then, I knew she lived in the village. The very next day, I introduced myself to her father, your grandfather, and he almost had a heart attack. He certainly didn’t expect for me, a Lord, to just show up unexpectedly.”
“You had the whole castle in an up heap. Servants were running around, trying to make sure the place was perfect for you.” Izayoi shooked her head, her childlike laughter filling the dining room. “When my father introduced me and I stepped into the throne room, it was as if nothing else mattered. I felt myself being pulled towards you and the moment I looked into your eyes, I knew you were the one for me.”
“And you are my heart, tsuma.” Toga smiled, leaning down to give her a small peck on the cheek. “Son, why do you ask?” Here goes nothing. Taking a shuddering breath, Inuyasha met his brother’s gaze and when Sesshomaru nodded, he spoke.
“I think I’m beginning to see my soulmate.”
“Seriously?” Kagura and Sango asked at the same time, Inuyasha nodding silently.
“Oh my!” Izayoi gasped, while Miroku grinned. Sesshomaru even smirked a little, but Inuyasha knew it was his way of showing his affection.
“This is something to celebrate.” Toga announced, holding up a cup of wine in congratulations. “Do you know who she is?”
“If he did, I think he would know, dear.” Izayoi smiled, patting his arm.
“I don’t. I keep seeing flashes, not like in the mirror like you did and my demon keeps urging me to find her, but I wouldn’t even know where to look. It’s always at the most inconvenient time too.” He sighed, shaking his head sadly.
“It may not be a distance thing as theirs was, but you could have a stronger connection to feelings. I can always feel his emotions, even if he resembles the ice king.” Kagura pointed to her husband, smirking. She isn’t wrong.
“Or, it could be a physical touch thing. I wasn’t even sure Sango was the one until I held her hand.” Miroku chimed in, earning an eye roll from his wife. Lecher.
“Just don’t go around groping every woman’s behind who looks like her.” Sango glared and he had to shake the shiver threatening to crawl up his spine. She was strong enough to take him down on one of his good days.
“So what do I do now?” Inuyasha groaned after a thoughtful moment, his mind filled with way too much information for his liking.
“It will happen when it’s supposed to happen. Don’t try to force it, darling.” Izayoi smiled sadly, everyone nodding along.
Inuyasha let out a deep breath, one he didn’t realize he was holding and looking down at the half eaten plate of food. I hope it happens soon.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The days passed in a blur, more images filling his mind. At night, whenever the moon was high in the sky, he found himself watching it with a new mindset, more than once the idea of running through the meadow underneath the stars filling his thoughts. As he and his family were preparing for their visit to Wolf Clan, a new image flashed across his mind, making him pause in his packing.
Looking out towards the courtyard, he could’ve sworn he saw a pair of blue eyes staring back at him from the reflection in the mirror. I thought she had brown eyes? Shaking his head, he wanted to scream and call out for her, his demon growling when her image disappeared.
Groaning in frustration, Inuyasha sank to his bed and laid his head in his hands. Why doesn’t she just appear in front of me? Am I seeing the wrong person or maybe she’s dead and reincarnated. I have this incredible urge to reach and protect her, but how am I supposed to do that if I have no idea who or where she is? Snarling, he swiped his claws across his pillows and grimaced at the torn fabric. Great, now Mother will scold me for ruining another pillow.
Sighing, he closed his eyes, willing her to appear and shook his head as he was met with darkness. I better get finished, we should be leaving soon.
After loading up the carriages, he found himself with Miroku and Sango and his Father, while Sesshomaru, Rin, Kagura and Izayoi followed behind in the second one. Kagura was growing bigger by the day and she wanted his mother and her husband with her as much as possible. He wasn’t surprised by her fear that something would happen, this being her first child and all.
“How are you doing?” Sango asked him softly, breaking him out of his thoughts.
“I’m alright, You good over there? Monk can’t be too comfortable on your shoulder.” He snickered as they hit a bump, a small frown of discomfort appearing on her face.
“He does better when he sleeps along the way.” She shrugged lightly. “Are you still seeing her?” He knew exactly what she was talking about and he nodded, feeling tired. It seems I can feel her now too. That has to mean I’m closer to finding her.
“I have faith, son. She’s probably just as eager to meet you as well.” Toga patted his shoulder and he nodded.
“There is something though. I thought she had brown eyes, but this morning I saw blue eyes. How am I supposed to find her if her eyes change colors?”
“Maybe she can change forms, like a kitsune. She could be a demon or a witch that can change how she appears.” Sango suggested, smiling sheepishly.
“Well that doesn’t help me one fucking bit.” Inuyasha grumbled.
“You know your mother doesn’t like that word. But Sango’s right. You don’t know if she is human or demon or anything in between and that won’t matter because you will know when you see her.”
“I just wished it didn’t have to take so long.” He crossed his arms and went back to staring out the window.
“Don’t we all?” Toga chuckled.
The hours passed by as the sun was just beginning to set, the royal family were nearing the Wolf Clan and their kingdom. Taking a whiff, Inuyasha tried and failed to hide disgust on his face at the stench, but whipped his head up when the faintest of wildflowers flitted across his nose.
Popping his head out the window, he saw a large group of villagers and what looked like a market. Sighing, he thought it was too good to be true and his nose was playing tricks on him again when his Father announced that they would be stopping to stretch and allow the horse a break.
Stepping out of the carriage, Inuyasha found himself looking around, nodding at the gaping villagers. This is the part I hate most about traveling. We are normal people like everyone else.
“Son, I think I smell some delicious food. Care to join me?” Toga asked, joining him at his side. “Kagura is craving some sort of spicy food and as much as I can’t stand the thought of burning my tongue, I told her we would search out something for her.”
Chuckling at his sister’s demand, Inuyasha nodded and together, they walked into the crowd. Frowning, he felt this pull towards a large booth serving some type of stew with noodles. Glancing at his father, he pointed his chin in that direction, his mouth beginning to water. What type of food is that? It smells fucking divine.
Arriving at the stall, he met an older woman with dark hair and one gray stripe appearing above her ear. She had kind brown eyes and a soft smile, reminding him of his mother.
“Hello, would you like a bowl of ramen?” She asked brightly.
“What’s ramen?” He asked.
“Here, why don’t you try some and if you like it, you can take a bowl with you.” She laughed, dishing out two small spoonfuls. Looking over at his father, who looked absolutely delighted as slurped down the ramen.
Raising the bowl to his lips, Inuyasha was surprised by how much he loved it. Grinning wide, he gulped down the remaining amount and together, they held out their bowls for more.
She laughed and he tilted his head, the sound familiar. There’s no way this woman is my soulmate. Looking at her eyes, he saw bright brown, but sighed when they didn’t match the beautiful brown he saw in his mind.
“Actually, would you mind if we took some back to our carriage? My daughter in law is carrying and I think this would be perfect for her.”
“Of course, I’ll dish some up for you and your children. How many bowls would you like?”
“I’ll pay for every pot you have!” Toga held out a small bag, the golden coins jiggling around. “Is this a family recipe?”
“Yes! My daughter Kagome makes this as often as possible, starting from scratch almost every week for market day. Speaking of, Kagome dear! Come out, there is another gentleman who would like to compliment your cooking.”
A joyful, proud feeling washed over him and he looked around, hoping he could see if his soulmate was near. It certainly felt as if she was near, her soft giggle echoing in his ears. The triangles twitched and flattened against his head when he didn’t spot her, straightening his back to introduce himself when the woman’s daughter stepped out from behind a curtain.
“This is my daughter Kagome.” The woman smiled, bringing her forward and Inuyasha breathed in the wildflower scent surrounding him. She has to be close, I can practically taste her.
“Hello, Kagome. My name is Toga and this is my son, Inuyasha.” Toga chuckled and stepped back. Frowning at his father’s odd behavior, Inuyasha turned to introduce himself, and he froze, his demon roaring at everything clicked. There, standing in front of him, stood his soulmate, with long dark hair in beautiful waves down her back, pouty lips, a freckled nose and the most striking pair of eyes he had ever seen. Blinking rapidly, he realized one was brown and one was blue, his world falling into place as her name was whispered into his soul.
Kagome.

Fleet Week - Day 2: Friendship day
Oh yeah! This is it, my kind of fic!
There are so many good friendships in the series, and I went with InuYasha & Sango. Because I'm a sucker for dog boy having to adjust to his friend being a mama.
As usual, shout out to @inu-mothership for the event, and @hanmajoerin for helping me make it better.

Kick
By then, Sango was used to having her stomach touched by everyone.
As her belly grew, so did the attention she received from everyone around her.
Miroku, who was already a very touchy husband, became even more so the minute she announced her suspicions 6 months previously. He managed to mostly control himself when they were in public, but as soon as they were alone, his hands would fly over to her stomach, trying to feel any and every movement happening inside. He didn’t give her a break, not even at night: he now slept exclusively with his arms around her middle, which sometimes got him an elbow on the ribs from time to time when Sango needed to move.
The children were by far the most openly excited, greeting her hands first everyday. Shippou assigned himself the duty of “baby monitor” ever since he was the first–and only–one to detect two heart beats, signaling the presence of twins, months ago. Everyday he would press his pointy ears to her belly and relay what he could hear, always proud of the job only he could do.
Kaede touched her periodically out of midwifery duty, and instructed Rin on how to do the same, and what to look for while doing it. The girl could barely contain her elation to be following through and learning so much with her first ever pregnancy, each lesson being punctuated by exclamations of wonder, some bouncing in place, and the occasional clapping.
Other villagers always arrived full of questions. The children surrounded her with touches, wanting to know when they would meet their new playmates, while the older women asked about how she was doing, gently placing their hands on her stomach and recalling their own past pregnancies.
Before their battle with Naraku ended, she would have avoided the interactions with scrutiny, she couldn’t deny it was enjoyable being the center of attention in this situation. Everyone seemed interested and excited about the babies.
Everyone, that is, except InuYasha.
He kept saying he wasn’t interested whenever she asked, but InuYasha had never been much of a good liar. Sango would catch his ears twitching and perking up whenever the subject of the babies came up, and he gave sideways glances whenever he thought nobody was paying attention. It was endearing how much her friend was genuinely attentive to the matter, and she truly wanted him to be part of it, but as long as he thought she was only asking on his behalf, he would dodge it, out of… embarrassment? If Kagome was here, she might be able to tell her why he acted this way. Sango wasn’t entirely sure as to why he kept depriving himself of the involvement he clearly wanted, but in the end, the reasons didn’t matter. She would find a way to include him one way or the other.
It finally happened on a late afternoon when they were alone: Sango was hanging the freshly washed laundry, and InuYasha was by her side.
“Just sit down and let me do it. Miroku shouldn’t let you work like this.”
“I’m pregnant, not armless. I can still handle laundry.”
He huffed, but didn’t move to take the basket out of Sango’s hands. He just watched as she worked until she laid the load down and moved to sit on a nearby rock to rest.
“See? You get tired too easily now.”
“As far as I know, getting a little tired from carrying these two around isn’t life threatening. I swear, I’d die of boredom if you had it your way.”
InuYasha huffed again, and quietly made his way to her side.
They sat in a comfortable silence for a few minutes, Sango choosing her next words carefully.
“They really seem to be moving a lot today,” she said with a sigh and a hand on her belly. “InuYasha… do you want to feel the babies?”
His face flushed.
“N-no. Why would I?”
Sango reached out to grab his nearest wrist. “It would mean a lot to me if you did,” she said, guiding his hand to her stomach.
InuYasha tried to squirm away as his palm made contact with the material of her clothes.
“I really don’t–holy shit was that a foot!?!”
Sango looked down, trying hard to contain her laughter at the genuine wonder of her friend feeling the babies for the first time. “Yes! Or a hand, I don’t know, they move too much.”
“Fuck… does it hurt?” he asked, moving both hands to her stomach, eyes wide like a child’s and glued to her, as if she could burst at any moment.
“Not really, unless they kick my ribs or something like that.”
“It’s so weird…”
“Super weird,” she nodded. “Houshi-sama says they’ll be born slayers since they’re already practicing their attacks.”
“Are they always like this?”
“Like what?”
“So kicky?”
She chuckled. “Not really, but they seem to react to some things. Like Houshi-sama’s voice. Kirara and Shippou seem to make them more active too. I guess they can sense the youki.”
InuYasha didn’t say anything for a while, pondering what Sango had just said.
“Do you think they’ll hate me?” He asked quietly, almost too quiet to hear.
Sango smiled.
“No. I think they already love you.”

Shoji 🪔
Happy Mirsan Week! 🥰❤️ For @loveofmirsan, kicking off Day 1 of the week — Paper 📃 with a stolen moment between warriors– lovers, behind closed doors.
Tumblr media
Read on AO3 here!
A shoji is a traditional Japanese sliding door or room divider consisting of a wooden frame and translucent paper. The paper allows diffused light to pass through, creating a soft and gentle illumination. Shoji screens are a distinctive element in traditional Japanese architecture and interior design, serving both practical and aesthetic purposes by dividing spaces while maintaining a sense of openness and elegance.

After posting the poll, and it ending in a tie, I still decided to split the chapter into two parts because I hit 8,000 words and still am not done. It's been a while, and I wanted you guys to have something until I finish. I appreciate all the love and kindness on the last few chapters. You are all amazing, but special thanks to @violetasteria for helping me through my writer's block and hyping me up every step of the way. Love you, bestie!! Without further ado...here is chapter 18: He Loves Me? Sneak peak below <3
Quietly, she asks, “Have you ever gotten a girl flowers before?”
Miroku shrugs, taking a sip of his tea. “Not really my style.”
“Ah, that’s  right,” Sango teases, flicking the crumpled petal at him. “I forgot you’d rather fuck around and then find out.”
Miroku chokes on his tea, sputtering. The tips of his ears redden as he wipes his mouth roughly with his arm. “I’ve been better,” he says finally, choosing his words carefully, “with my…extra-curriculars.”
Sango nods, plucking another petal from a rose. He loves me. “I know,” she says in a soft voice. Months he went without having another woman over. Until Kuranosuke kissed her. She tosses the petal on the counter, picking another. He loves me not. “I know.”

Sacrifice
For day three of @weekofmirsan!
Word count: 100
Sango hesitated, hands gripping the fabric of her yukata, trembling as she tried and failed to remove the last layer hiding her from her new husband.
The new husband who’d seen a parade of pretty, perfect women before her.
And she came to him marked and scarred by such strife.
“I know it’s… probably not… very pretty,” she mumbled, finally disrobing and closing her eyes.
She felt Miroku’s hands trail across her flesh and circle the knotted skin of the scar on her back.
“Ah, the symbol of your sacrifice,” he whispered, lips following his fingers, “how utterly, utterly beautiful.”
