obsessed with the idea of the micronations being their own little found family that always gets up to Micronation Antics (tm), and you’d think one of them would be the responsible one but actually they share a singular brain cell whose only thought is Chaos. Since they’re micronations, they get away with so much more shit than the Real Nations and they’re mostly literal children, unsupervised immortal edition, so they could just carry out whatever impulsive idea they have and as long as they don’t cross the line (too much) the other nations won’t mind. Just had to put that out there. Goodnight.

My boyfriend and I made a new micronation called Isopodia. Our territory is our isopod bin (currently empty until we get new starters for the colony).

I can't explain how into it I am. Nothing is sexier than homoerotically working out a constitution.

i found this really awesome website called heraldicon.org. you can use it to make coats of arms and all sorts of heraldry (if youre into that stuff).

one of the coolest things ive ever seen is the Create Arms from Blazon feature, shown in the photo above. you type the descriptions of an arms and it creates it for you! you can edit it manually, which is sometimes necessary as the feature is still being updated and tweaked. for instance, if i wanted to put a bunch of crescents in the cross, id have to it manually as you cant make it with the prompt.

nevertheless, its probably one of my favorite websites and if you want to enter the world of heraldry (like me) then its a very good place to start.

you can publish your arms (if you want!) and it will appear on the website for people to mess with if they want (it would be their own version, not yours!). its a super useful way to see how someone made what they did, especially if there are a lot of things going on.

yet again, super big recommend for people who like heraldry. its still in beta, and much of the charges you’ll find are made by the community (its super easy to upload charges, too!).

The Republic of Molossia is a self-declared micronation within the United States started by a man named Kevin Baugh. He became president of Molossia when he was 15. Molossia uses its own currency called Valora, which is backed by cookie dough . Its official languages r English and Esperanto. They have a timezone 39 minutes ahead of Pacific Time and 21 minutes behind of Mountain Standard Time.

What's funny is that Molossia is still at war with East Germany. Molossia argues that Ernst Thälmann Island dedicated by Fidel Castro to Weimar German politician Ernst Thälmann and given to East Germany, as well as its lack of mention in the Treaty on the Final Settlement or by the nation of Cuba, is therefore still East German land, allowing the war to continue.

Molossia has a postal service, navy and space program.

Flags for the Bardofar Republic

Ahoy-hoy maties.

If you don't follow he on Twitter, it's impossible you know this, but I recently took part in a competition organised by the micronation known as the Bardofar Republic (see https://twitter.com/bardofarmicro). They wanted flag designer allover to come up with the flags of the states composing their republic, and taking the opportunity I made a flag for each and every one of them. My designs ended up winning the competition (except the flag for Obsidian Isle, which @alexknight002 won. The only requirement that the Bardofarian set was that the flags had to prominently feature the colour blue. Because I had to context to what the history, symbols, demographics, traditions and beliefs of each estate was, I had to make them up basing only on the name; they were OK with that. Also, I tried to use the colour green whenever I could because they have a set of green stars on their flag, and thought it could be a cool reference to the national flag.

Without any further ado, here they are. From left to right and top to bottom they're: Solara, Aquilonia, Verdantia, Zephyria, Obsidian Isle, Emberlyn, Serendelle, Sylvanholme, Astravia and Merigolda.

As you can see, I tried to be as diverse in terms of design as I could.

Dreamtalia: New Dreamers

Yep, I made the Dreamtalia butterfly eyes for my littlest muses! Which I shall post here cause I don't know how to paste all these on on paper.All the designs are very simple, as are the colors because I am calling them 'New dreams' that were born. My interpretation of the micros family dynamics is probably different then most. Kugel is loved by Roderich, and Ladonia sees Berwald as his father. Also has a crush on Peter.

The 'New Dreams' are not fully formed, or matured, and so they took the little nations as vessels to use their energy to become whole. They do it while the kids sleep, and try to be inconspicuous to not alert Reeve, the older Nations, etc. These ones will be going on my side account @little-dreamtalia

Kugel's dream eyes. No Arcana number, or title as of yet. He is not fully a lucid dreamer like papa Roderich, but he has very potent imagination. His dream self is much more shy, and airheaded, very dreamy (pun intended) personality. Forgetful. Is drawn to the Emperor and Empress but too scared to try and get close. (yes I am PruAus shipper, and Kugel is their son leave me alone.)

Ladonia's dream Butterfly. Very headstrong, and excited, has so much creativity but has a hard time expressing or creating things. Is a perfectionist and so critical of anything he does. Is drawn to the Tino and Ber, and knows Ladonia is secretly scared of being shoved aside. Also has a crush on Peter in and out of dreams. His turbulent heart, and secret affection for Peter made it easy for this Dream butterfly to capture Ladonia.

Slightly stronger new dream. But as you can see, the designs of it have not fully matured. Her dream Butterfly is is headstrong, bossy, and scared. She is trying to prove herself, and does not want to be under Reeves rule or ...the other. Likes to sing, and usually is seen wandering the open dream lands and talking with fairies.

Seborga's dream butterfly. Much more ...sad. His was a dream that was dying, and slowly came back. He resonated with Seborga, and the micronation felt sorry for the dream and let's him use his body as a vessel. This dream feels affection towards Italy and Romano. He mostly wanders the realm of Cups, loving the sea. Is not flirtatious like waking Seborga, but he is melancholic and poetic.

Dream Hutt Rivers butterfly. This one is very weak, and Hutt River himself is barely clinging to Micronation hood. They both are, in a sense, hiding from much older dreams. He can be found in the realm were Magician was. He needs to feed of much more powerful sources to stay going. Also is a tad of a masochist. Despite all this he is very warm and protective for people he (or Hutt) care about.

THE NON MICROS

Dream Moldova (. Has a shot at being very strong. Very much into dark and strange things, including his humor. It's why Moldova made the perfect vessel. This butterfly dream is precocious, flighty, childishly cruel, mischievous and can set things on fire when angry.

Dream TRNC. You heard that right. Despite his young physical age, this dream butterfly found this little nation to be strong willed and had to have him. Wise, cautious, and decisive and is a suede leader for the new little dreams. He dwells in the small, little corner of the world of dreams that the New Dream butterflies were formed. No one enters into their abode without his express permission.

The Lesbian flag features different shades of pink and sometimes comes with a red kiss on it to represent lipstick lesbians. It was created by Natalie McCray in 2010. Some oppose this flag because of its exclusion of butch lesbians but other flags don't have as much popularity.

Micronations based on contorted historical claims are an interest of mine. And one that I came across a few years ago that has a personal interest to me is the so-called Dominion of British West Florida, as I once lived in the area they claim. Its claim is based on a rather odd reading of historical events, but they basically claim that the old British colony of West Florida (I’m not sure under what borders as it changed a few times) is rightfully British still, and thus they claim to seek recognition as part of the Commonwealth. Needless to say, their claim has not been acknowledged by any nation, much less the UK itself or the US

A quick synopsis of the real history before going into their claim. Florida began as a Spanish colony, first claimed in the 16th century. The Spanish claims, as was common with colonial claims, initially overlapped with Britain’s claims. Eventually, however, a boundary between British and Spanish colonial claims was agreed to after the amusingly-named War of Jenkins’ Ear, which was similar to the modern US state of Florida, but extending further west to the Mississippi River. The border that was agreed to, on a modern map:

Thus including parts of what are today Alabama, Mississippi, and Louisiana (that portion of Louisiana is still referred to as the West Florida Parishes). This is one of several places where modern state boundaries reflect old international borders, in this case, between the Spanish and British empires

After the Seven Years’ War, Spain ceded Florida to Britain. The British divided Florida into two colonies, East Florida and West Florida, with the boundary being the Apalachicola River. In addition, West Florida’s northern border was moved significally northward, to a line defined by the confluence of the Yazoo and Mississippi Rivers

Which included a significant portion of modern-day Mississippi and Alabama. By an odd coincidence, that northern border actually passes through those states’ capitals. The capital of West Florida was the city of Pensacola, which is today the westernmost city in Florida, just a few miles from the state’s western border

When the Revolutionary War broke out, the Floridas remained loyalist. The Continental Congress send delegations to try to get them to join the revolution, but they both chose to remain loyalist. At the end of the Revolutionary War, Spain, which had been an ally of the colonists, regained the Floridas (West Florida had actually been captured by Spain, while East Florida had remained in British control, but was traded to Spain in exchange for the return of the Bahamas). This actually created a border dispute between the United States and Spain, as the treaty between the US and the UK explicitly defined the southern border of the new nation, using the old border of Florida, but the treaty between the UK and Spain did not define boundaries, only ceding the Floridas. Spain thus (not unreasonably) interpreted it to mean that Britain was ceded all of the Floridas as they were defined prior to the treaty (thus including that post-1763 expansion), but in 1795, Spain agreed to the old boundary of West Florida in the Treaty of San Lorenzo, AKA Pinckney’s Treaty. Spain retained the division between East and West Florida, although they moved the boundary between the two to the Suwanee River, further east

In 1819, Spain sold the Floridas to the US (which had already seized the westernmost part of West Florida, the portions now in Louisiana, Mississippi, and Alabama, under dubious justifications) as part of the Adams-Onís Treaty. The US then merged the two colonies into the Florida Territory, which eventually became the modern state

Now, the so-called Dominion of British West Florida agrees with the real history through the 19th century. They accept the retrocession back to Spain after the Revolutionary War, and presumably they accept that the post-1763 expansion was not included in West Florida. Their claim is that when King Charles IV of Spain abdicated in 1808, West Florida reverted to British control, which would thus mean that it was not ceded to the US in the Adams-Onís Treaty

This is a really peculiar claim. A monarch’s abdication doesn’t void any treaties made in that monarch’s name, and they make no defense of that claim, they simply assert it. And even weirder, even if there were some clause that could be twisted to justify that claim, they don’t claim the same for East Florida. Surely if there were some weird clause in that treaty to that effect, it would’ve affected all of the territories that changed hands in the treaty?

Also, the former British West Florida had been divided up between the US and Spain, but presumably, since the claim relates to Spanish politics, they’re only claiming the portion that was ceded to Spain. And presumably not including the eastern portions added to it under Spanish rule? So presumably like this:

Needless to say, their claims have precisely 0 change of ever being acknowledged by either the US or the British government

We are a micronation who declared independence on the 7th of September, 2022.

While we are busy drafting our official constitution, we have decided to give a little information about our great Empire in a slightly more informal setting.

We are an absolute monarchy ruled by a single Imperial Sovereign (other titles include Emperor or Empress, King or Queen, Imperial Majesty, or simply the Sovereign).

Our official flag is the "Golden Protectors" and contains our official Colors of blue, white, and gold.

[Note: the religious symbol of the cross may be changed at the Sovereign's request to either a different religious symbol or to a non-religious symbol.]

We are Pro-Choice, pro-science, LGBTQIA+ friendly, pro-BLM, and we actively help to fight Climate Change wherever we can.

To become a citizen of our great Empire, all one must do is proclaim their allegiance - either verbally or in writing - to the Empire and the Sovereign. Decisions about whether or not to make an official oath to recite shall be made at a later date.

We do not require tax collection at this time.
