More Earthspark goodies to come. For now, here’s some TFP. I did this as an art trade with a mutual on Twitter. It’s almost like they purposely made the TFP designs so bulky and oblong so they couldn’t hug each other. Soundwave was a bitch to draw. Anyway! TF Surge: Megatron is from a very poor family in Tarn. His single father Terminus was a poor nucleon miner who had no education at all, and took the job that paid better than his own parent's so Megatron could have a better chance at life, either knowing the danger or being lied to about the risks. Still he could only afford Megatron's education up to the equivalent of middle school.

Megatron's name was supposed to be Megaton, but Terminus misspelled it in the adoption paperwork, and it stuck. As a child Megatron wanted to be a nurse, but medical school was too expensive and while he was still a teenager, nucleon's effects started becoming apparent and Terminus couldn't work anymore. The still underage Megatron joined the army because he needed a job to support them right now, and the Tarnian military recruitment preys on poor/uneducated/debted people. Before joining the army he'd also met the science student Shockwave in the library, and they dated secretly from Shockwave's abusive and classist family.

Then Vos and Tarn's cold war suddenly went hot and they nuked each other. The panicked Megatron tried to find Terminus before the missiles hit, but Shockwave dragged him into a shelter. Wherever he was Terminus actually survived, but Shockwave's family died. Both cities were devastated, and the nukes were one of the things that led to the Autobot-Decepticon war only a bit later. During the war Megatron rose in the ranks, and eventually became the Decepticon alliance's second or third or fourth leader.

Megatron's dubious leadership style (which includes pitting his subordinates against each other with a "the best bot/idea will win" mindset) stems from having to claw his way up the ranks and growing up in a citystate which had been a military dictatorship for literally all of its' history, it isn't like he had any good examples of leadership or normal behavior. It and military culture are also the reasons he's bad at emotions.

Makes sense makes sense, explains some of his behavior and surely definitely influences how Megs and Shockers interact post bombing

Megaton settlers actually being vaguely nice to you bc you’re familiar and not some passer-by asshole like half of the other floaters that come through town

Like I said in my other post, learning so much more about your fav characters- Gob, Nova, Moira, etc.- just from being around them every day; getting to see all their truly human quirks

If you do happen to go out wandering, you’re that weirdo in town that disappears for days on end then comes back to stay for months on end, and always bearing some new weird shit you found in whatever abandoned building you scrambled through this time

Moira loves the new tech you bring her; some of its pre-war some of its something else entirely (is it even human?) but she loves it all and rambles to you about all her lil discoveries and experiments she’s been performing on the tech

If you’re good karma, a lot of people see you as the protector of the town bc of everything you’ve done for them; defusing the bomb, helping Moira with her book, holding an intervention for Leo

The residents might see you as the town’s nicer version of Jericho

Catching up on the hottest gossip w Vera Weatherly; you probably stayed at her hotel for the longest time before you settled down and cleaned up that old stinky room down the hall to make it your own

Attending Angela and Diego’s wedding, you may/may not have had anything to do with that

Hanging out in the Muddy Rudder to get in on all the action; egging on a few fights with Butch or Trinnie

Bugging Doctor Li or Doctor Preston just bc they have the worst sense of humor and you love getting on their nerves

Obviously getting a very weird reputation when you do that and for a while ppl are kinda iffy around you bc who tf just does that

ehh i think that people tend to forget that tfp starscream attempted to kill megatron after megatron started to act bat shit insane when he came back. Like the show did not begin with TFP starscream wanting to kill him. Megatron left and puts starscream in chrage.

starscream at the beginning of tfp was actually holding down the decepticon cause, and acting as second in command. when megatron returned, he stepped down and was ready to serve him, and then megaton acted cold to him in various ways. the most notable example was when he told starscream to 'stop groveling' when starscream asked what he could do, and starscream was not being malicious. after megatron took the dark energon and became power hungry, and began throwing starscream around the place and stepping on his head and shit like that, THAT is when starscream snapped and decided to leave him stranded in space.

In tfp, Starscream had a lot of respect and loyaty to Megatron until megatron outwardly acted violent toward him and demeaned him.

When starscream returned to Nemesis, he was extremely loyal to Megatron until fucking Predacons rising. So yeah, Starscream did try to kill Megatron multiple times, but if you watch the show you will understand that he only tried to do that after Megatron returned and literally started physically mistreating him out of nowhere. And Starscream attempted to work with Megatron and push it aside until he couldn't.

This isn't excusing how awful of a person starscream is, because i think people tend to see any form of sympathy toward starcream as babying him. Starscream isn't a good person in tfp, and if we talk about how Megatron abused him, we also get to talk about how bad Starscream was an how abusive he was to others. For example, Knockout, the other troops, Shockwave, the seekr twins, the list goes on. And the interestinng thing about Starscream and Megatron is how they both continue that cycle of abuse with one another - Megatron is a victim of violent abuse, and he continues that with Starscream who continues it with others. It would be really interesting to talk about.

and also this doesn't mean, by transformers guidelines, that either of them are past redemption. megatron MOSTLY gets redeemed in TF media but it is possible for both of them to get redeemed too. That is just a random thought that came but whatever.

But i think this one of the few fandoms I have been in where we can see an evil character going through abusive shit, and people will say 'omg you're babying him' if you say that he shouldn't be going through that.

You don't have to like Starscream, or you don't even have to like awful terrible things he does. But this thing where 'he's a villain so he has no complexity' is so strange and counter reductive, and when you see people speaking in depth about his character and round it out to 'omg you're babying him he tried to kill megatron' then i...idk

and idk i wouldn't be making this post if it wasn't clear that op and some other people were directly referencing things i've said in the past. but that's okay LOL

okay so in fallout 3 i have very good karma and ive completed the main story mission plus broken steel so now npc in the wastes will be like "oh my god its the wanderer" and like to a degree i get it if its like a large human settlement like if im in megaton and dudes are like "wow wanderer" or whatever it makes a Little sense but like. willow outside of underworld is saying "bless you. you're an example to us all" like bitch no tf im not. and even if i was why would Willow of all people care she has no reason to care. she doesnt like the brotherhood or give a shit about the enclave and shes a ghoul so its not like purified water Means anything to Her or any other permanent resident of underworld like. cmon

Where do you think Maccready Lucy and Duncan all lived? Probably not rivet city because I can't see Mac adjusting to that life style especially in his earlier years. Probably not Megaton considering the overcrowding issue. Which leaves random settlements.... I think it's safe to say he probably stayed in big town for a minute, but I can't see him staying there once Duncan came along which begs the question where tf is Duncan at?

Funny thought: Smokescreen in but he missed out on most of the war in Earthspark just he like tf prime so his first instinct when he see Megarton is to literally punch in him the face without any hesitation since he still thinks Megaton's is on the cons side.

Fallout NV OC Orson Winterfield

This is Orson Winterfield, a 27 year old mercenary hailing from the capital wasteland who made his way as a courier delivering packages throughout New Vegas. Orson was born in Megaton and due to the radiation there it caused Orson to be born with a mutation called Ghoul's Eye which can be seen in his left eye . This interesting mutation Orson was born with actually makes him able to withstand more radiation than the average wastelander can and he can also be healed by radiation but too much radiation will kill Orson. Orson Winterfield absolutely despises the Legion and NCR politics but not the NCR military as he knows they are just the poor bastards put into a never ending meat grinder of a war. Orson also has a hidden talent of taming the wasteland's deadliest and strangest creatures has his main creature companions is a baby deathclaw named Buster, a cyber dog named Sheena and a juvenile cazador named Colt (creature crew photo later). As a merc Orson can be bought for the right price but as long it does not go against his own code of morals and ethics since professionals have standards (Sniper TF reference) plus for a good price you get a deadly merc from the capital wasteland who owns a baby deathclaw that can still pack a mean bite , a fast cyberdog who never gives up the chase and an aggressive juvenile cazador who has a painful sting. Orson Winterfield was raised by his adopted father who was an Enclave Officer and after his father passed away Orson inherited his father's Enclave Hell Fire power armor. Stay tuned for Orson's adventure throughout the Mojave wasteland
