a lot of the reasons i read him as japanese are most likely little bits of cultural influence from miss ryoko herself but i still think its fun to tack them onto his characterisation (like the type of food he makes and his quiet, self-sufficient style of masculinity)

the iranian part mainly comes from how hes drawn in modern au sketches/with his helmet off hehee i was reading the ddh volumes in between chapters and it rly struck me how much he looks like a very beautiful middle-eastern man LOL

ive said this before but if you hear israel is allowed to compete in eurovision again and your response is ''lol but theyre not even in europe'' or ''eurovision has bad music anyways'' then you are like. majorly missing the point.

#technically most countries around the mediterranean are allowed to compete israel is just one of the only ones who chooses to #(plus some others like lebanon actively wont compete because of israels presence)#and yes the fact they compete IS free positive publicity and tourism for a genocidal nation. and hypocricy when russia has been excluded #its way more troubling than just ''but its not even europe''
