The Hubs of Humanity 1
Prologue:
Back in the early 23rd century, as humanity began spreading its wings into the cosmos, the European Space Convention envisioned a groundbreaking project. They named it HUSB – Harmony of Urbanity and Space Bridges or as the public called it “The Hubs of Humanity”. At the projects core stood the idea to create a network of space stations and infrastructure pieces, each intricately designed to reflect Europe’s intricate designs and reflecting the architectural wonders of a wide range of European cities. It was like taking a slice of Paris, a bit of Barcelona, small snippets of Amsterdam and tiny amounts of Vienna and sprinkling their iconic look´s into the seemingly infinite abyss of interstellar space. The cities in the sky fostered significant cultural exchange, scientific collaboration, and good old human connection. Picture space stations modeled after the elegance of avant-garde designs of Berlin, the timeless charm of Rome or the sophistication of the medieval center of Prague.
Construction kicked of on a massive scale and for a while the project was the talk of the galaxy. The stations became marvels of their own right, embodying the spirit of humanity and its creativity. But as fate would have it, the early days of the 24th century brought a devastating cosmic cataclysm. An insidious computer virus, born from the depths of the digital unknown, infiltrated the project´s communication networks and databases. It spread like a raging wildfire, leaving chaos in its wake, and toppling the human economy and causing the once-thriving interconnected system into disarray. The fallout left a haunting legacy for the project, as the collapse progressed and databases where wiped clean many station dwellers decided to abandon their ships, leaving them adrift and causing them to vanish into the vast expanse of space without any trace left. They became cosmic ghosts, silently orbiting in the darkness, their stories and beauty lost to the void.  Quickly forgotten by the rebuilding civilization that emerged from the ashes. Their memory fading into obscurity becoming fragments of an era long gone by. The civilization moved continually forward, leaving behind the mysterious past.
Many generations passed, and with the shift of cosmic currents, some of the long-forgotten stations reemerged from the cosmic background, having become new, beautiful obscure or even haunting shells of their former selves. Slowly many of them revealed new and diverse tapestries of fates. Some not just remnants but thriving hubs of life, sustained by reformed ecosystems and their resourceful inhabitants which had found a way to adapt to the sudden challenges of having to find ways to sustain their ways of living in space. Others had undergone large alterations, their original purposes re-imagined by advanced AI and machinery which was once designed to keep the stations operational. These technological custodians ensured the continued existence and advancement of these magnificent stations, evolving them into marvels of automated efficiency and sustainability.
The Hubs of Humanity: Aetherian Arboretum
Now after many of them had been long forgotten and become legends of a marvelous past the first of these celestial relics appeared at the edge of Humanities capital solar system. As it floated trough the vast reaches of the cosmos by pure chance it passed the outermost surveillance satellites of the Human system SOL1. There it was a space station which echoes the grandeur of an age long gone. A picturesque and mesmerizing blend of elegance and the neon glow of a bygone era. Tall ornate structures with their sinuous curves and intricate floral motifs rise from the main ring like structure and into the star lit fabric of space. Facades adorned with dim luminescent neon colors cast a surreal picture upon any eyes there to observe it. As it silently orbited throughout the cosmic ballet of space rocks of a region referred to as the Oort cloud it was greeted by a group of space vessels. Drawn towards it they cautiously approach the abandoned celestial haven.
As a group of explorers set foot onto it for the first time again, they marvel at the fusion of design and cosmic functionality. As they wander the deserted streets, the air is filled with an eerie silence, only broken by the occasional rustle of leaves and the distant hum of nature overtaking the space. Vines gracefully cascade town the sides of once bustling structures as they intertwine wit the fading light of neon signs that once proclaimed the names of businesses now long forgotten. The corridors and walkways once trodden by station dwellers, now play host to a delicate tapestry of nature. Moss covering lower grounds and growing through cracks in the flooring and resilient ferns and flowers also pushing their way through the seams. Tables, doors, and windows adorned with wrought-iron designs being claimed by encroaching vines. The almost ghostly neon glow flickering and casting a dreamlike scene into the explorers´ eyes. The grand arches and domes of the once famous trading hub now softened by the embrace of ivy and climbing roses.
Amid this fantastic scene of haunting beauty, unexpected inhabitants had found their niche – flocks of chickens, descendants of once domesticated birds, had adapted to the continuous darkness of the abandoned space station. Their plumage had taken on otherworldly beauty as it reflected the surrounding hues of dim neon lights. Their feathers colored in ethereal blends of deep purples, electric blues, and luminous greens they created a mesmerizing spectacle of shimmers and shadows as they moved through the silent station. These avian inhabitants adapted to the perpetual darkness of the station developing nocturnal rhythms and clucking that harmonized with the faint hum of the station´s former vibrancy. They had become the unexpected guardians of this rediscovered neon-lit legacy.
As the explorers reluctantly tore themselves away from these mesmerizing scenes, they delved deeper into the bowels of the ship, where they uncovered relics and objects of the once flourishing and passionate inhabitants. It also became evident that the station had undergone its profound metamorphosis, triggered by the exhaustion of its fusion systems and batteries several generations ago. The once state-of-the-art machinery had gracefully transitioned into a state of energy conservation. Basic life support systems hummed softly, maintaining the atmospheres delicately balanced atmosphere as the surroundings were bathed in the perpetual dim glow of neon lights, nurturing the lush flora overtaking the stations interiors. The artificial gravity modifier, a relic of advanced technology, continued to function on a minimal level. Its low persistent hum serving as an unseen orchestrator, allowing the abundance of plants and neon-feathered chickens to thrive in their cosmic sanctuary.
As the explorers continued their way through the corridors, they marveled at the ingenious processes that had sustained the stations delicate balance over the years. In this cosmic tapestry, the explorers sensed a quiet resilience. An enduring legacy left by a bygone era that unwittingly had given rise to this flourishing microcosm. The space station, now reemerged as a living testament to adaption, whispering its story of metamorphosis through the hushing echoes of its few still operational automated systems, the soft neon-glow of plant lights, and the vibrant clucks of chickens against the backdrop of the celestial stage.
With high anticipation, the explorers access the ship´s extensive database, eager to unveil the secrets hidden within the almost dreamlike structure they had been navigating. As the displays flickered to life, they revealed intricate schematics and blueprints of the station. The designation “Aetherian Arboretum” adorned the digital representations of the mighty station´s architecture. The name resonated with an ethereal quality, capturing the essence of this celestial haven. Armed with the new knowledge of the station´s identity, the explorers felt a deeper connection to it. As it stood as a testament to human ingenuity and the enduring spirit of exploration as it transcended its initial purpose as a hub of exploration and trade, evolving into a beacon of life amid the cosmic abyss. The name now etched into humanity’s records once again it was soon to become a thriving celestial haven again.
The news of the Arboretum´s rediscovery and its unique transformation captured the imagination of Earthlings in a wildfire. Recognizing its unique historical and ecological significance, authorities and swiftly declared it a protected zone and placed it under historic and natural preservation. The once-abandoned station a testament to the harmonious coexistence of nature and technology, underwent careful restoration with the goal of preserving its unique atmosphere while allowing eager tourists to experience the surreal beauty of the station in a small selected section. During the beginning of its restoration, the celestial sanctuary was moved in a stable orbit around Saturn, creating a celestial backdrop that added to the mystique of the cosmic destination. As visitors disembarked onto the transformed space station, they marveled at the now again neon-lit arches, domes and towers, the vibrant flora and the more than enthusiastic clucking of the specially adapted chickens. Educational Programs were established quite quickly to inform about the Arboretum´s rich history, its transformation and the unique ecosystem within it. Conservationists closely monitoring the neon-feathered chickens, ensuring their well-being and natural behavior are not disturbed in any significant way. As the space station orbited Saturn, the "Aetherian Arboretum" stood not only as a destination for eager earthlings but as a symbol of the boundless potential for exploration, preservation, and the celebration of the cosmic wonders that unfolded beyond the confines of Earth.

Hello Simblr! Though I am not new to Tumblr, or even the idea of Simblr, this is my first adventure into the lands of having an actual dedicated space to tell the stories I usually keep to myself or my wife. I've played the Sims for years, spanning from The Sims 2, The Sims 3, The Sims Medieval, and The Sims 4, though it's only recently I've found my love and passion for Berry sims and all things brightly colored.
I know I'm super late to the game, but the Berry Sweet Pastel Rainbowcy, Pastel Patisserie, and of course, the Not-So-Berry challenges have caught my attention and my passion. I am not typically a legacy-style player, but being that writing and story-telling are my other hobby, I've finally decided to combine my love of the Sims, bright colors, and storytelling into one unit. (Wish me luck!) The first series I will be sharing here is my journey and sims in the Berry Sweet Pastel Rainbowcy. I have my degree in photography and art history, so the pressure is on me to produce captivating images that are beautiful to look at! I hope you enjoy them as much as the story I'm creating--and as much as I do!
My wife is a long-time Simblr user (though she's been absent in the most recent years and you can definitely blame me), and goes by ohthesefaces! In the coming weeks, as I get this set-up and going, she will be helping me make sure I have a Resources page for you guys to see what overlays, skins, and common custom content I use in my game. I am WCIF (where can i find) friendly and more than happy to help answer any questions that you guys have, or just chat about my story!
Thank you so much for taking the time to visit my little corner of the internet and see what I'm doing! In this introductory image, as well as my blog header and icon, I'd like to introduce my sim Cactus Blossom! Although she won't have an active role in my current Berry Sweet Pastel Rainbowcy legacy challenge, she will definitely be seen in the background (I think!) and throughout my blog. Listed here are the rules to the challenges I mentioned: Berry Sweet Pastel Rainbowcy -- Updated by Sweetlysimss Berry Sweet Pastel Patisserie -- basilgrove Not So Berry -- Updated by Sweetlysimss

Sims Tagged Meme
No one tagged me, but I thought it'd be fun to do anyway! :>
 1. What’s your favorite sims death? In the Sims 3, my favorite death has to be the meteor shower death (poor @faeriefrolic's Madeline cannot catch a break with that one xP) and in the Sims Medieval, my favorite one has to be the Pit Monster one!
2. Alpha CC or Maxis Match? Maxis Match all the way, there's just something about MM that makes it so appealing. It's so bright and colourful and I love it so much :> (Maybe alpha is just sorta...creepy to me idk?)
3. Do you cheat when your sims gain weight? Nope, I don't! I love body diversity in my game, however I used to when I used to play the Sims 4! But now, I don't mind any and all body shapes :D
4. Do you use move objects? I do, but only for decor items so it looks like the space is lived in. Though, one time I did use move objects on a computer and my sim used it as a table to eat her sandwich on.
5. Favorite mod? Definitely NRAAS and the Randomizer mod. NRAAS is a must to keep the game running and I like the well, randomness of the Randomizer mod!
6. First expansion/game/stuff pack you got? I first got into the Sims when I was given the Sims 2 by my grandmother. I think my first pack I got was Pets, but I honestly don't remember... it was a while ago lol
7. Do you pronounce “live mode” like aLIVE or LIVing? I pronounce it as aLIVE.
8. Who’s your favorite sim that you’ve made? For me, my favorite sims that I've made are actually based upon two OCs that I have - Connor and Leon. They're my babies and I'll love them forever! Plus, I like how Leon's voice sounds as a simbot! If we're talking regular sims though, I have two. One is from my 'N Cheese legacy back in the Sims 4, her name was Blueberry 'N Cheese (I have her as my origin profile!). The other one is Linden, who I sadly had to retire for now as I've been away for several months. Maybe one day I'll return to his save but for right now I don't want to do any challenges.
9. Have you made a simself? I did once and they promptly died to a vending machine. But like, mood.
10. What sim traits did you give yourself? Dog person, Night Owl, Computer Whiz, Childish, and Family-Orientated.
11. What is your favorite EA hair color? Probably the blonde preset, but other than that one, I just don't like any of them sadly - I prefer the custom ones that I make.
12. Favorite EA hair? Idk why but I really love that Victorian era one that has a big hat. I actually used to have it as CC when I played the Sims 4 so you can imagine my surprise when I realized it was actually from the Sims 3.
13. Favorite life stage? Young adults and elders!
14. Are you a builder or are you in it for the gameplay? Honestly, I love both! I mainly build tiny homes, though but I'm still getting used to Sims 3's build mode.
15. Are you a CC creator? Technically I am if you count those scuffed clay hairs I made for the Sims 4 years ago, but maybe someday I'll touch Sims 3's modding tools!
16. Do you have any simblr friends/a sim squad? I have @faeriefrolic who I met irl before, and she is the sweetest person to know! :D But other than that, I keep to myself but don't be afraid to say hi to me! I know I've been on a hiatus but hopefully sometime in July I can start again, as I've been visiting some family in  America owo
17. What’s your favorite game? TS3! Ever since I've re-visited it, it's one of my favorite Sims games! It's a tie between 3 and Medieval, honestly.
18. Do you have any Sims merch? Uhhh, I had like one Sims-related sticker on my old laptop but I don't know if I'd be able to peel it off without wrecking it.
19. Do you have a YouTube for sims? I used to, but I got really self-conscious of my voice so I don't anymore.
20. How has your “sim style” changed throughout your years of playing? I was very minimal at first, as people usually are when you first play a game. Then I got into NSB challenges, and I loved the wild hair colors that you could put your sim in! (I got up to the yellow gen in the Sims 4). Now, I'm a mix between banilla and berry sims.
21. What’s your Origin ID? ShuckleBerry662, if you play the Sims 4 - my scuffed builds are on the gallery. :P
22. Who’s your favorite CC creator? Oh shit, uhhh I love a whole bunch of 'em! I love @chazybazzy, @poisonfireleafs for hairs. I love @sweetdevil-sims and I recently discovered @teekapoka's stuff too! (idk why it didn't link but oh well.) Also the lovely @lazyduchess for their smooth patch!
23. How long have you had a simblr? I honestly don't remember, maybe 2016-ish? It was mainly Sims 4 and I abandoned that one sooo uh...yeah.
24. How do you edit your pictures? I don't edit my pictures at all bc I don't have the patience for Photoshop and my game can't handle reshade sometimes.
25. What expansion/game/stuff pack is your favorite so far? I love Ambitions and University Life! The Ghostbuster career is one of my favorites and I get excited whenever I hear the ghost sound cue.
26. What expansion/game/stuff pack do you want next? The 64-bit expansion would be an awesome addition to the Sims 3! 😊

Medical Uniforms of the Past: Examining Historical Garb in Healthcare
Throughout history, medical professionals have donned various forms of attire, reflecting not only the practical needs of their profession but also the prevailing cultural norms and beliefs of their time. In this blog, we'll journey through the evolution of medical uniforms, exploring the styles, materials, and significance of historical garb in healthcare.
Ancient Beginnings: In ancient civilizations such as Egypt and Greece, healers and physicians often wore simple robes or tunics, emphasizing cleanliness and modesty. These early medical uniforms were typically made from linen or cotton, prized for their breathability and ease of washing.
Tumblr media
Medieval Medicine: During the Middle Ages, medical practitioners adopted more distinctive attire, often incorporating hooded robes or cloaks to denote their profession. These garments, usually made from wool or rough linen, served practical and symbolic purposes, providing warmth and protection while signaling the wearer's role as a healer.
Renaissance Reforms: The Renaissance period saw significant advancements in medical knowledge and practice, accompanied by changes in uniform attire. Physicians and surgeons of this era favored more tailored garments, often featuring elaborate embroidery or embellishments to signify their status and expertise. Leather aprons and gloves were also commonly worn for protection during surgical procedures.
Victorian Era Elegance: In the 19th century, medical uniforms took on a more formal and stylized appearance, reflecting the Victorian era's emphasis on decency and decorum. Male physicians favored dark suits with high collars and waistcoats, while female nurses wore long dresses or uniforms with crisp white aprons and caps. These uniforms conveyed a sense of professionalism and authority, as well as adherence to strict hygiene standards.
Tumblr media
Modern Innovations: Medical uniforms underwent further transformations with the advent of modern medicine and healthcare professionalization in the 20th century. The introduction of standardized scrubs, pioneered by Dr. William Stewart Halsted in the early 1900s, revolutionized the field by providing practical, easy-to-clean attire for surgical staff. Today, medical uniforms come in a variety of styles and materials, ranging from traditional white coats and nurse uniforms to colorful scrubs and specialized protective gear.
Conclusion: The evolution of medical uniforms reflects changes in healthcare practices and shifts in societal attitudes and cultural norms. From ancient robes to modern scrubs, these garments have played a vital role in defining the identities of medical professionals and instilling confidence in patients. As uniform manufacturers continue to innovate and adapt to new challenges, the legacy of historical garb in healthcare serves as a reminder of the enduring importance of professionalism, hygiene, and tradition in the medical profession.

Alternative History - Theodore Roosevelt, Ronald Reagan, Abe Lincoln, George Washington, and FDR as "Gilles de Rais" as painted by  Éloi Firmin Féron (1835) The painting "Gilles de Rais" by Éloi Firmin Féron, created in 1835, is a striking and evocative portrait that delves into the dark and controversial history of its subject. Gilles de Rais, a 15th-century French nobleman, is perhaps best known for his role as a leader in the French army alongside Joan of Arc during the Hundred Years' War. However, his legacy is predominantly overshadowed by his later conviction and execution for a series of horrific crimes, including the murder of children.
Artistic Context and Details
Éloi Firmin Féron, a 19th-century French artist, was known for his historical and portrait paintings. In this work, Féron captures Gilles de Rais in a dramatic and somber tone, reflecting the dual nature of his historical legacy. The painting portrays de Rais not in the armor of a military leader but in a more introspective and perhaps tormented guise.
The composition of the painting is focused and intimate, with de Rais shown in half-length, his gaze turned away from the viewer, which imparts a sense of introspection or remorse. The lighting is soft yet stark, highlighting his face and hands, thereby drawing attention to his expression and the subtle details of his attire. The color palette is muted, with dark, rich tones that evoke a sense of the period and underscore the gravity of de Rais's story.
Symbolism and Interpretation
Féron's painting is loaded with symbolism. The shadowy, almost Gothic atmosphere can be seen as a reflection of Gilles de Rais's grim deeds and the dark legends surrounding his figure. The somber expression and the downcast eyes might suggest a moment of reflection or sorrow, possibly alluding to his eventual reckoning with his crimes.
The choice to portray de Rais in a moment of solitude rather than in battle or at the height of his power is a telling decision by Féron. It shifts the focus from his military exploits and his association with Joan of Arc to his personal infamy and tragic downfall. This artistic choice serves to humanize a figure often regarded as monstrously mythic, providing a more nuanced view of a historically vilified personality.
Cultural Impact
When it was created, the painting would have resonated with an audience familiar with the historical figure of Gilles de Rais through popular culture and literature, notably influenced by the Gothic revival and a renewed interest in medieval history which marked the 19th century. The painting invites viewers to ponder the complexities of historical figures, the duality of heroism and villainy, and the ways in which they are remembered in history and art.
Conclusion
Éloi Firmin Féron’s 1835 painting "Gilles de Rais" is an evocative work that captures the essence of its subject with both technical skill and deep emotional resonance. Through this portrait, Féron contributes to the ongoing conversation about the legacy of Gilles de Rais, offering a visual meditation on the nature of infamy and redemption. The painting not only serves as a historical artifact but also as a piece of art that challenges the viewer to confront the multifaceted dimensions of its subject.

In the ancient land of Konohagakure, where the rustling leaves whispered tales of battles fought and victories won, the imperial palace stood as a testament to the enduring legacy of the Uzumaki dynasty.
On this significant day, the opulent halls buzzed with anticipation for a momentous occasion—the royal portrait session of Emperor Naruto and Empress Hinata Uzumaki.
The decision to immortalize their images carried historical weight, creating a visual chronicle of the Uzumaki dynasty.
The portraits, including one of the Emperor, one of the Empress, and one portraying them together, would be enshrined in historical records, chronicling the story of their reign for generations to come.
Symbolizing the authority of the monarchy, the portraits emphasized the lasting legacy of their reign, integrating them into the regal lineage that came before.
The ceremonial affair was a special event, contributing to the public perception of the monarchy, solidifying Naruto and Hinata's place in history.
Summoned to capture the essence of their majesties on canvas was the esteemed artist, Master Sai.
His reputation as a master of the brush extended far beyond the village walls, and his presence in the imperial palace was a mark of the significance of the occasion.
Sai was the best of the best. Fit for the job.
As the appointed hour drew near, the portrait chamber underwent a grand transformation.
Rich silks adorned the walls, each thread woven with the tales of Konoha's history.
Intricate tapestries, statues, and lavish blue and green embellishments portrayed the ascension of Konohagakure, chronicling the successes and challenges faced by its people, as well as the unwavering connection between the emperor and empress.
In the center of the chamber, positioned on elaborately carved throne chairs, Emperor Naruto and Empress Hinata took their designated poses, fully prepared for their likenesses to be immortalized on canvas.
Naruto, draped in a majestic white cape flowing down to the floor, encircling him, was positioned hunched forward, hands joined before his broad form.
Red flames gracefully danced at the cape's ends, reflecting the indomitable will of fire coursing through his veins. A red clasp secured the cape across his neck, injecting a vibrant touch of color into his entire ensemble.
Beneath the flowing fabric, he was adorned in a regal dark brown buttoned vest of a distinct hue, along with a long-sleeved white button-up undershirt. His lower half was adorned with dark brown slacks and matching long boots, finalizing his entire apparel selection for his royal portrait painting.
Atop his short blonde hair, a golden crown adorned with fiery red rubies perched, complementing a charming smirk on his tan features, raising his whiskered cheeks ever so slightly.
That look, so subtle yet profound in its depth, proudly portrayed the emperor's confidence and charisma—a smirk that unveiled layers of the emperor's character.
Beneath his royal apparel and imposing title, Naruto actually exuded a playful spirit, endearing himself to his subjects while shouldering the weight of the crown.
Unlike rulers of the past, he governed Konoha and its lovely people with understanding and love, rather than instilling fear through conquest.
But of course, it was not only him that ruled Konoha.
Seated a few paces away, Empress Hinata, draped in a resplendent royal purple dress, was there at Emperor Naruto's side, exuding ethereal beauty.
Her body tilted slightly to the left in her throne chair, hands delicately folded across her lap.
A silver tiara adorned with purple garnet jewels graced her short midnight-blue hair, twinkling in the sunlight.
Hinata's delightful smile, radiating cheerfulness, bathed the chamber in a luminous glow. Her lips touched with a subtle gloss, added a soft radiance to her elegant demeanor, befitting the graceful empress she embodied.
Hinata was a marvel, the perfect complement to Naruto's energy—the yin to his yang, a harmonious blend of warm and cool colors, like the sun and moon.
Their very poses held the promise of breathing life into a canvas masterpiece—a union captured, standing still in time.
The expansive chamber fell into a formal hush, a silence so profound it seemed to echo off the gilded walls. Footmen, statuesque and vigilant, stood sentinel-like at strategic points in the area, their uniformed presence contributing to the air of solemnity.
Courtiers, assembled in a huddle a few paces away from the thrones, maintained watchful postures, aiming to appear more formal than they actually were.
Their ornate fans danced gracefully in synchronized unison, discreetly hiding mouths that frequently participated in gossip and judgment. The gentle flutter of decorative fans and sporadic murmurs of courtly exchanges crafted a delicate harmony within the charged silence.
Amidst the quietude, Sai prepared his brushes, mixing lively pigments on his polished mahogany palette. His gaze was formal as he studied the emperor and empress, observing the nuances of their facial structures, body postures, and attire.
A faint smile graced his pale face, creasing his lips in visible admiration.
The black-haired male marveled at the contrast between the emperor's magnetic smirk and the empress's gentle smile.
Master Sai stood just a few paces away, respectfully positioned near Emperor Naruto and Empress Hinata's throne chairs, by his large easel. Crafted from polished mahogany, the substantial easel displayed meticulous craftsmanship, with brass fittings securing the canvas precisely. Additionally, it was equipped with wheels, allowing for easy mobility.
His exquisite palette held vibrant pigments—crimsons, browns, tans, ruby reds, royal purples, and regal golds, awaiting blending for the imperial portrait of his royal majesties.
Meticulous, Sai ensured azure and emerald hues for Konohagakure's landscapes. Surveying the palette, he also envisioned a fusion of colors—ruby reds for Naruto's regality and royal purples for Hinata's grace.
In the imperial chamber, Sai wore a paint-speckled black smock, paired with a tailored gray shirt underneath and simple black trousers—a basic yet masterful attire befitting the accomplished artist.
Every detail was carefully organized.
The Emperor and Empress, resplendent in opulent attire for the occasion, held poses like carved statues, in perfect position to have their appearances painted. Even the golden sunlight embraced the room just right, casting a warm aura in the room through the grand windows.
Sai blew out a deep breath.
He was ready. Ready to begin.
Everything was perfect, just the way he liked it to be.
Everything was...
Sai's eyebrows furrowed.
except for one thing.
As Sai lifted his brush, the artist hesitated for a moment, assessing the composition before him. He noticed the one lone flaw in the valley of perfection, one that required immediate correction.
He cleared his throat.
"Your Majesty," He called out, addressing the emperor in a tone that was both formal and polite.
"Your Majesty, if you could kindly look at me?" Sai asserted, lifting his voice just a tad, seeking to possibly prompt His Majesty to turn back and meet his gaze once more for the portrait.
But Naruto didn't hear a single word.
In that suspended moment, Naruto found himself ensnared in a trance, his eyes fixed on his wife and only his wife.
His intention was for it to be just a glance.
However, one single look at Hinata, the singular beauty illuminating the entire chamber, was just enough to hold Naruto captive, causing him to forget everything he had been engaged in moments before.
Emperor Naruto just stared at his wife, taking the moment to fully drink in the ethereal beauty of her.
Empress Hinata.
Her regal dress, a deep shade of royal purple, draped around her like a cloak of twilight, accentuating every curve and contour with a grace that echoed the refinement of a medieval tapestry come to life.
Hinata's lavender eyes, pools of sincerity, held a depth that Naruto had always found captivating. At this moment, they sparkled with a mixture of amusement and affection as she observed his distraction from the corner of her eye.
Those plump, glossy lips of hers, ones he's heard time and time again release lewd sounds, and witnessed wrapped around naughty places in the comfort of their private chambers now curved into a pure, cheery smile.
It was her infuriating smile that only worsened Naruto's predicament, further rooting him in a trance he couldn't seem to escape.
His breath hitched. 'Kami, how are you so perfect, my dear?' Naruto thought in a love-daze, his earlier charming smirk swept away only to be replaced by a stupid grin.
"Your Majesty! If I must have your attention again, please."
Ignored once more.
Naruto's gaze merely lingered on Hinata, his neck craned to his right in an awkward position that caused some of the courtiers in the room to giggle due to his obvious distraction.
However, the emperor remained oblivious to that, as he was too engrossed in appreciating the subtle aspects he adored about his wife—the soft curve of her neck, the way her hair framed her face like a dark halo, and the hint of a blush that adorned her cheeks, reflecting the emotions that danced within.
At that moment, it seemed the light dimmed across the entire chamber for Naruto. The dimmed light cast Hinata into radiant focus as if on center stage—a delicate angel poised beside him on her throne.
Naruto's jaw dropped in astonishment once again.
He couldn't help but marvel at Hinata, marvel at the fact that the woman who currently had him drooling, who caused him to look like a complete idiot in the presence of the council and their guest Sai, belonged to him.
His empress.
But Hinata meant more than that; she was not merely his lovable wife—she stood as the guiding compass of his reign.
Throughout his reign, Naruto shouldered a myriad of responsibilities as the figurehead of Konoha, overseeing governance, justice, diplomacy, and military matters. However, amid these challenges, Hinata stood by his side, aiding in decision-making, offering support, and acting as the constant force keeping his moral compass true.
She was the beacon of his reign, the gentle force that possesses the ability to gently reel him back when the weight of leadership threatens to overwhelm him. Her wisdom and grace became the lifeline that anchored Naruto, ensuring his decisions were just and fair for the well-being of their people.
As his trusted confidante, she not only shared his bed but also bore the weight of the crown. Her counsel extended into the late hours, even when their naked bodies lay pressed together, fortifying their bond with a strength that surpassed even the physical.
Hinata's mere presence meant everything to Naruto—a calming influence and a wellspring of strength that enabled him to govern not just as an emperor but as a compassionate leader prioritizing the well-being of Konoha's people above all else.
Hinata is his world, a truth reinforced every time he catches a glimpse of her.
The blonde emperor smiled joyously.
"Your Majesty, I implore you, would you please turn your gaze toward me!" Sai raised his voice for what seemed like the thousandth time, his usual meek and dull voice rising forth and filling the entire chamber with an audible echo.
It was at that moment, at the abrupt outburst from Sai, that Naruto shook himself out of his trance. He reluctantly tore his gaze away from the enchanting vision of his Empress and turned his head toward the distressed artist. A look of shock crossed his tan features, the image of his wife lingering in his mind even still.
Naruto planted his gaze back on Sai, who appeared noticeably tense after nearly two straight minutes of calling out to him, now breathless.
Sai cleared his throat, adjusting his smock on his body. "Forgive me for yelling, Your Majesty, but-"
"No, no, you're fine," Naruto apologized, waving his hand dismissively, "I should be the one to apologize to you, Sai-san." The blonde emperor adjusted in his throne, stealing another glance at his wife.
"You must pardon me, I got a bit lost, uh, in the beautiful view there," He replied, his eyes glinting mischievously.
Hinata let out a subtle giggle, casting a discreet glance at her husband, prompting his blue eyes to quickly snap back to her.
Blue clashed with lavender.
It was at that moment, that a sense of familiarity permeated the exchange between the emperor and empress, hinting at a connection beyond the formalities of the imperial court—reserved for matters that only unfolded in their private chambers.
Naruto couldn't keep his eyes off of her.
And Hinata was well aware.
The blonde emperor shot a seductive grin her way, nearly captivated by the sight of his wife laughing. He admired the way her delicate features subtly creased with genuine joy, and observed as one of her small hands rushed to cover her mouth.
Nevertheless, Naruto shifted his gaze back toward Sai, promptly adopting a more serious demeanor as he hunched his body back over, rolling his shoulders forward.
Simultaneously, the charming smirk that had graced his lips earlier made a swift return.
The black-haired artist nodded in acknowledgment, satisfied.
"Thank you, Your Majesty,"
Expressing his gratitude, Sai offered a courteous bow before redirecting his focus to the blank canvas before him.
In that moment, the imperial chamber regained its quiet reverence, with the only audible sounds being the subtle strokes of Sai's brush as he began the initial sketches for the portrait.
It was then the royal portrait session commenced, with Sai embarking on the task of capturing Emperor Naruto and Empress Hinata on canvas with deliberate and precise strokes of his brush.
His motions resembled a dance, a rhythmic choreography that conveyed both expertise and artistic finesse.
Sai displayed a virtuosity with the paintbrush, seamlessly wielding it as if it were a natural extension of himself.
His hand moved with remarkable speed, crafting swift and deliberate strokes that captured the essence of the scene.
Concentration etched across his face as his eyes effortlessly shifted from canvas to Emperor Naruto and Empress Hinata, meticulously ensuring each of their poses and details found its place on the evolving masterpiece before him.
However, as Sai persisted in painting, the unspoken connection between Naruto and Hinata unfailingly lingered in the air, echoing deeply within their minds.
Redirecting his focus to Sai, Naruto maintained his charismatic smirk, yet a subtle hint of something more was present—a genuine expression of love, mirroring the joy reflected in the eyes of his Empress.
Remaining motionless, Naruto sat with his hands clasped once again, slightly hunched over, his blue eyes unwaveringly fixed on Sai, just as the artist had requested countless times before.
Naruto was trying.
He was trying his utmost effort to maintain his focus on Sai, to remain present in the moment, to fulfill the necessary task at hand.
However, as Sai continued, moving his brush back and forth, dipping it into the needed hues on his palette, Naruto couldn't resist.
He found himself casting stolen glances toward Hinata anyway.
It was a paradoxical gaze—one that held both the weight of a ruler responsible for an entire empire and the tenderness of a husband enchanted by the woman who shared his throne.
It was almost involuntarily, the way his head consciously turned, to seek another glimpse of Hinata, as though fearing she might vanish if he didn't seize the moment. The enchantment she cast over him persisted, drawing him back to her radiant presence with an irresistible pull.
Every single time.
One look wasn't enough. He needed to look at her again and again.
Yet, with every turn of his head, Sai's voice crashed in, as predictable as clockwork, compelling him to regain his composure once again.
"Your Majesty, if I may request your focus once more."
"G-Gomen."
Offering another apology, Naruto seized Sai's reminder as a means to detach himself from the magnetic allure of Hinata's presence. He sheepishly refocused for the umpteenth time, determined to uphold the dignity fitting for his position.
However, as time unfolded, the same pattern emerged.
Throughout the meticulous process of capturing the imperial couple on canvas, Naruto found himself repeatedly drawn to Hinata, his gaze straying to steal a glance, despite his best efforts to remain fixed on the task at hand.
Sai, patient yet firm, would intervene with a gentle reminder each time, steering the Emperor's attention back toward his direction.
Meanwhile, Hinata, skillfully sustaining her composed posture throughout, couldn't overlook Naruto's occasional glances. She actually found him and his glances rather adorable.
Her voice, gentle and teasing, pierced through the subdued ambiance of the chamber.
"You seem quite distracted, Naruto-kun," Hinata remarked playfully, her cheery smile undeterred.
"My love, are you finding it difficult to keep your eyes off me?"
Naruto's breath caught at the emergence of his wife's voice in the quiet room, momentarily taking him by surprise.
He chuckled in response to Hinata's playful chastising, conveying acknowledgment of his predicament.
He shrugged.
"Well, you're not making it easy, Hinata-chan." Naruto responded, keeping his head straight, posture firm.
Hinata's laughter, like the soft chime of bells, echoed in the chamber, her head tilted slightly.
"It's fortunate that Master Sai possesses such patience. I can only envision the frustration he endures, repeatedly interrupted by the numerous times you turn your head," She remarked, a playful glint dancing in her lavender eyes.
Sai smiled sheepishly from afar, "Oh, it is quite alright, your majesties. I will manage."
Naruto snorted in response, overlooking Sai's presence, "Oh, very funny. I almost laughed because of you," He declared sarcastically, his eyes drifting over to his wife, "Never known you to be the amusing one, Hinata-chan."
"Oh, I am amusing, am I?" Hinata hummed, "I happen to get that from you, my love," She retorted, attempting to maintain her smile and not succumb to laughter.
Naruto smirked, enjoying their playful back-and-forth banter. However, Hinata knew better than to engage in such exchanges.
In these little playful skirmishes, he always emerges victorious.
A mischievous smirk crossed the whiskered male face, a smirk that promised trouble, "Heh, well, it's a pity for you, my empress, because the significance of my expressions of amusement and yours carry different weights."
"And why is that, my emperor?"
"Because my amusement leads to laughter, whereas your amusement elicits a stir in my groin, and it might just end with that dress of yours being torn off-"
"Naruto-kun!"
Hinata's entire face blushed a deep shade of red, her embarrassed screech resonating throughout the entire portrait chamber.
She fought to keep her composure, resisting the temptation to burst into laughter or give in to embarrassment; her body was certainly in a state of confusion.
How could she remain composed when her husband chose such an inappropriate moment to express his desires?
How could she remain serious when her lover is horny?
The empress let out a small whimper as she surveyed the chamber, finding their courtiers collectively amused, giggling within their huddled corner.
The footmen remained motionless, yet subtle shifts in their expressions revealed nuanced adjustments–perhaps a twitch of the lips or a fleeting change in gaze, betraying a silent language of their own.
Sai momentarily froze, his brush suspended in the air, drops of paint falling to the floor, and his cheeks tinged with pink—all unmistakably aware of their rather suggestive conversation.
Hinata's exclamation thankfully interrupted Naruto before he went too far, averting the revelation of their more intimate sides in the privacy of their bed chambers and preserving the formality of their presence and the situation.
Hinata breathed heavily, her body tense, and her face frozen in a state of shock.
Summoning the courage, she dared to sneak a peek at Naruto from the corner of her eye, blushing as she found him looking at her quite seductively, his lip bitten—a sight that stirred emotions within her that must not be felt at the moment.
She clenched her thighs over the other, shifting in her throne chair.
"Stop that, Naruto-kun."
"Stop what, Hinata-chan?"
"Stop being such a distraction and focus on Sai-san," She scolded in a hushed tone, "We need to make this moment as stress-free for him as possible."
She then extended her delicate fingers to gently guide her husband's face forward.
However, as soon as her fingers made contact with his whiskered cheeks, warmth flooded through her hand, eliciting a shudder. Nevertheless, her fingers persisted, gently guiding Naruto's head away from her and back towards Sai.
But she felt resistance against her hand.
Defiantly, Naruto pressed his face against hers, resisting to keep his head tilted in her direction.
His whiskered cheek lifted, a devious smirk plastered on his face.
"No," He shook his head, "I don't think I will." He retaliated.
"I happen to want to look at you more, my empress." Naruto whispered in a daze.
Hinata gasped.
Indeed, Naruto was horny.
She could discern it in his voice, with the way he practically moaned her title, and the defiance underlying his tone.
Hinata noticed it in the way he resisted her commands, ones he typically followed quite obediently. Additionally, she noticed it in the intensity with which he focused solely on her, seemingly oblivious to the other spectators in the room.
And as she cast another look, lowering her eyes, Naruto's aroused state was unequivocally confirmed by the evident bulge in his formal slacks—a sight that caused Hinata's breath to hitch.
Her lavender eyes narrowed, shooting her husband a warning look, "Behave yourself, Naruto-kun. You'll have plenty of time to admire me later, but for now, we must be serious."
"No, I can't afford to be. Not right now. Not when I'm like this-"
"Would you two like a break, your majesties?" Sai's voice interjected once more, dispelling the heated tension between the emperor and empress.
Shaking off his flustered state, Sai placed his brush on the table beside him, where his palette joined it.
Clasping his hands, he observed as the royal couple halted, redirecting their attention toward him.
The black-haired artist offered a faint smile, "I see that you both are very distracted, and that is quite alright. I shall give you two a break and resume in fifteen." He offered.
"How does that sound?"
Instantly, Hinata agreed to the break, granting Sai a bow of the head, "That would be quite splendid, Sai-san. Arigato." She expressed her gratitude, "We'll appreciate that time to compose ourselves."
Sai nodded and bowed, "Of course, Your Majesty. I'll make the necessary arrangements for your break."
As Sai left the chamber, Hinata turned to the royal court, the rest of the attendants left in the chamber, "Everyone, we will take a short break. Please give us a few moments of privacy, and we'll reconvene shortly."
In response to Hinata's command, the courtiers and footmen complied, bowing in unison before making their exit from the portrait chamber room. The swish of their elegant attire and the soft echoes of hushed conversations gradually faded away, as they left one by one.
The departure of the last person was marked by the chamber door closing with a muffled thud, sealing off the outside world. The echoes of footsteps faded away, and the room fell into a profound hush, leaving the space exclusively reserved only for the emperor and empress.
Now alone, Naruto was given the freedom to unleash the beast dwelling inside him, allowing him to finally surrender to his manly urges.
In an instant, Naruto's expression transitioned from the formal demeanor of an emperor to the private intensity of a husband eager to be fulfilled in the way only his wife knows.
He turned back to Hinata, now with a naughty glint in his eyes.
"Heh, I gotta say, it's so hot to see you in action, my empress, ordering those pesky courtiers around."
"Naruto-kun," Hinata snapped, turning her head sharply toward him. She scoffed, "We're all alone; I hope you're happy now, causing a scene-"
"Oh my precious Hinata-chan, I am more than happy. I am ecstatic!" The blonde emperor exclaimed, his husky voice echoing off the walls.
"You made the right call there, my love, because we..." Naruto hurriedly slid one hand down his body, fondling himself within his slacks, clutching the bundle of flesh in his hand, "have some unfinished business to take care of."
Hinata squeaked in embarrassment, her cheeks flushed even deeper.
She shook her head disapprovingly, "Naruto-kun, I know what you're thinking and cannot possibly do that now-"
"Shh."
He beckoned her over with one finger.
"Come, wife," Naruto commanded, not wasting any time.
He signaled for his wife to come closer with a mere gesture and command. And he observed in satisfaction as Hinata emitted a groan but obediently rose from her throne chair, her purple dress transitioning from a stationary state to a graceful flutter around her legs as she stood.
She extended her hand to retrieve her crown, turning to carefully place it on her throne chair, ensuring no harm would befall it.
The midnight-haired woman turned back, shaking her head, "Oh Naruto-kun, what's gotten into you?" She questioned as she walked over.
"Aroused? At a time like this?" She gently chastised him, her voice a soft reprimand, "Can't it wait until we get back to our private chambers? We should focus on the portrait session. It's an important event for our reign-"
"Shh, my love." Naruto hushed her again, placing a finger over his lips.
Instead, he nodded his head downward, "No more talking."
Leaning back in his throne chair, he opened his legs wide, inviting her to witness the full bulge of his erection in his slacks.
"Kneel." He only commanded, desiring to see her fully, to witness her in a way only he could.
It was at that moment it seemed as if a switch had been flipped in Hinata's mind.
With that simple command from her husband, it felt like Hinata's body was no longer her own, a vessel now bound to his desires.
Despite all the reservations and internal disagreements, Hinata found herself compelled to heed her husband's order, a silent surrender that permeated every inch of her being.
Hinata obediently complied, lowering herself to kneel before Naruto, directly in between his spread legs.
She kept her eyes fixed on him throughout her descent to the floor, her lavender eyes filled with a mix of surprise and affection as they met his hazy blue eyes, glazed with arousal.
The purple fabric of her dress sprawled elegantly around her as she kneeled, creating a luxurious contrast with the crisp floor.
From her lowered position, Naruto, seated in his regal throne chair, chest rose, legs wide, and his chin now resting on his propped arm exuded the aura of the emperor that he embodied, appearing like a giant peering down at his petite lover.
Hinata's legs were neatly tucked underneath her bottom as she knelt, ready to do what she was told.
She looked up at Naruto from below, the great contrast in their heights becoming pronounced due to her kneeled position.
Hinata's cheeks darkened, a fierce red.
The dark-haired empress tried to conceal the arousal that was starting to stir within her, but it was undeniable.
As she gazed up at her husband, the power dynamic between them became palpable.
Her submission to his command heightened the intimate spark between them, and she struggled to hide the growing excitement within her.
Hinata swallowed, her eyes shifting down ever so often to the bulging monster that was now within her line of sight.
She released a shuddering breath, "Tell me, what is the matter, Naruto-kun? Why are you-"
"Oh, don't play coy, wife. You and I both know what is the matter." Naruto intervened with a click of his tongue, "What I have come to want." He added.
The blonde emperor tilted his head, admiring his wife in the kneeled position below him.
Naruto, his excitement palpable, couldn't help but smirk, "I needed a break from all the formalities," His expression turned dull, waving his hand, "from all the doo dah, and the hullabaloo."
He huffed, his smirk slowly returning, "Yes now, I want to enjoy the view I've been denied."
Hinata, flushed red, couldn't suppress a giggle due to her amusing husband.
She raised one hand, gently covering her mouth, "Oh my! Aren't you quite the forward one today, Naruto-kun."
Naruto leaned forward in his throne chair, his gaze fixed on Hinata, his majestic cape fluttering with each deliberate movement.
"Can you blame me?" He remarked, "You look stunning, as always, all dressed up, dolled in your cutesy dress."
His words prompted Hinata to shift her gaze downward to the elegant purple dress adorning her, cascading down her figure, embracing her physique and offering a glimpse of cleavage.
She bit her lip.
Leaning in closer, Naruto lowered his voice, as if the two weren't alone.
"Ever since I first laid eyes on you in it, I've been wanting to tear it off your body, bend you over my throne chair, and fill you up," He admitted, exhaling through his teeth.
Hinata's breath hitched, her womanhood blooming awake, tingling within her undergarments.
Her body, held suspended by his mere presence, remained motionless as her husband's gaze wandered appreciatively across her rising chest and the entirety of her form.
Naruto traced the concealed curves of Hinata's figure, a masterpiece he couldn't get enough of. The fabric embraced every contour, testifying to the familiarity and allure that captivated him.
Although Hinata's body remained concealed beneath her dress, to Naruto, it was as if he could see right through, mapping every curve and structure of her.
His gaze, carrying the memory of her body stripped bare time and time again, traversed her form like a well-worn map. Each hidden spot, a realm unraveling her control, was etched in his memory like the sacred landscapes of his kingdom.
Hinata's body was a cherished territory, mirroring the intricate knowledge he held, an unwavering awareness never forgotten.
Naruto reached out to her, and with a gentle touch, his fingers traced along the delicate arch of her chin, where the callousness of his skin met the soft, velvety feel of hers.
Gently cupping her chin, he ensured her gaze remained locked onto his own.
"I can't resist you, Hinata-chan."
Hinata, holding back the impulse to shatter into a million pieces, resisting the love juices that flowed into her undergarments, soaking them, let forth a smile.
She lifted her head slightly in her husband's grasp, gently biting down on her lower lip.
"W-Well, I suppose I can't blame you for being captivated by your Empress."
Naruto's grin widened, "Heh, captivated is an understatement, darling."
He raced his thumb across her glossed lips, some of the gloss brushing off onto his thumb, "I want you, Hinata-chan. I want you now," He whispered, the urgency evident in his tone.
"N-Naruto-kun..." Hinata breathed.
He gestured toward his pants, mischief gleaming in his eyes, "I can't hold back anymore. It'll be quick." Naruto offered desperately.
"Besides, we don't have to go all the way. You can work your magic with that mouth of yours, can't you?" He proposed with a wiggle of his blonde eyebrows, a sight that left Hinata feeling captive to embarrassment.
Hinata knew what Naruto was getting at.
He was hinting at the foreplay that they had engaged in many times before, something Hinata was not only familiar with but exceptionally skilled at–one of the numerous hidden talents someone of her refined stature harbored.
Whether one believes it or not.
Naruto sported a smirk, observing the blood rushing beneath Hinata's face, turning her redder and redder, resembling a cherry tart.
The sight confirmed that she understood precisely what he desired.
Naruto nodded down at her dress, "I promise not to get that dress of yours sullied, nor your face."
The blonde emperor snickered, "I promise."
Hinata released a shaky breath, her restraint slowly but surely slipping from her fingers at the sight of the yearning in her husband's eyes and the longing in his voice.
Hinata knew what she must do.
She understood her role when Naruto was like this; it was her duty as his empress, his wife to fulfill his desires, satisfy the itch in his groin, to surrender her body to him whenever he pleased, whenever he commanded, regardless of the reason or the prevailing circumstances.
If he wants a child, she shall give him one.
If he wants sex, she shall give him that.
If he wants to use her mouth, she shall allow him.
Hinata knew that and was fairly pleased with it.
Thus, she could no longer deny him.
Her head nodded, her short hair swaying in response, "Al-Alright." She whispered, giving in.
Her compliance swiftly garnered her a kiss on the lips, a reward that elicited a cheerful giggle from her.
"Good girl."

Capturing Heights: The Essence of Tower Diamond Paintings
There are lots of different techniques in the art world, but diamond painting is one of the few that really stands out and grabs the hearts of artists and art aficionados. It's a unique art form that combines the precise cross-stitching of art with the vibrant colors of diamond art painting kits. It's an experience you can't get enough of, as you get lost in the details of how the diamond pieces are placed.
There are many themes in diamond painting. However, there is one theme that stands out from the rest due to its elegance and its historical importance: the Tower. Towers diamond painting, with their grandeur and height, symbolize human ambition, strength, and the passing of time. What better tower to represent this than the famous Galata Tower?
Tumblr media
Galata Tower Diamond Painting: Embracing Istanbul's Legacy
The Galata Tower is a medieval stone tower located in Istanbul, Turkey. Established in the 14th century, it is one of the most iconic landmarks in the city. Over the centuries, it has been witness to the expansion and contraction of empires, the union of different cultures, and the transformation of an ancient metropolis into a modern city. The challenge of capturing the essence of the Galata Tower diamond painting is not only for the artist but also serves to bridge the gap between modern art and traditional architecture.
Tumblr media
For those who are not familiar, the Galata Tower offers a stunning view of the city of Istanbul, particularly the intersection of the Golden Horn and the Bosphorus. Its conical roofline and surrounding urban tapestry create a challenging task for diamond painters, as the play of light at various times of day, the sea, and the cityscape necessitate a combination of colors and shades in order to achieve realistic accuracy.
Connecting with a Historical Monument through Modern Craft
While the process of creating the diamond painting art of the Galata Tower itself is satisfying, it also allows the artist to create a connection with the history of the tower. Each bead placed in the painting serves as a reminder of the architects and other individuals who contributed to the tower's rich history.
Finally, the world of paint by diamonds is full of opportunities for exploration, both artistic and educational. Galata Tower's diamond painting kit is a perfect example of this. Whether you are an experienced diamond painter or just starting out, embarking on a project such as this is sure to be an enjoyable experience.

Get to know me tag
Thanks to @zosa95 for the tag. There are more of these fun social tags going around than I can handle, but this one looks like something I can manage!
(I’m lousy at tagging people but would love to see responses from more folks.)
Rules: Answer the questions and tag 9 people you want to get to know better.
1. Favourite colour
I used to love purple, then green, then yellow. These days, I think I just love bright, cheerful colors. I like tie-dyes. I love autumnal colors together -- reds and oranges and golds. I like colors in gradients. Colors really cheer me up, particularly in the pandemic year(s) where everything seems a little gray.
2. Currently reading
Sailing to Sarantium by Guy Gavriel Kay Star Wars Legacies: Survivor’s Quest, by Timothy Zahn The Two Towers, JRR Tolkien, reading aloud to my daughter
3. Last song you listened to
Pretty sure that was a Hawaiian rendition of “Somewhere Over the Rainbow” on the speaker system of the airport shuttle :-D. We’re on vacation and aren’t listening to a lot of music.
4. Last series you watched
We’re almost done with Picard. We haven’t loved it as much as I would expect.
5. Sweet, spicy or savoury
Savory, usually? But I have a severe weakness for ice cream.
6. Craving
Sleep, actually. We’re at the travel fatigue stage of a long vacation. I’m also really craving time to play Sims and work on my mod suite.
7. Tea or coffee
Coffee, but sometimes tea.
8. Currently working on
Sims Games: The Samples, of course. I have laid out a bunch of posts I want to write. I also added the Weddings for Inactives mod and Non-Wedding Wedding Cakes and I’m excited to try them out in a wedding for (spoiler) Edmund who is (spoiler?) out of the household at this point. I’ve also been toying with a bit of Bring Me to Life Challenge by @queeniecook, inspired by @mosneakers‘s Oh My Darling. It doesn’t HAVE to start with bringing Erik Darling back to life for Agnes, but I love that premise. I started this challenge just to test out a fresh game using the MacOS 64-bit game, so it’s a one-sim household with minimal mods, but I AM playing in Sunset Valley 2020. To my surprise, it’s been fairly stable so far. Maybe the OS 64-bit game isn’t too bad if you’re not trying to load an existing save.... I don’t know how committed I am to playing it through because I have two other challenges I deeply love (an ISBI and a highly modified Nothing Is Free) that I want to return to. I’m also on-and-off designing a challenge built from the different ITF futures. Because I can’t do anything simply, I’m looking to see if I can update Lunar Lakes and hack it as an Oasis Landing replacement. I’ve already played in Oasis Landing and just don’t find it that interesting. I have the basic outline of the challenge put together, and of course it’s a matter of taking time to finish prep. Modding: I just made a version of Mermaid Tail for Children that is attached to only one set of leg bones to match @danjaley‘s Toddler Fin Reworked to go with some child mermaids I’m currently playing. Danjaley reported that the original creator JuBa-Oo gave her permission to upload changes to hers, but I haven’t verified if I can upload mine. I’m rebuilding Nona Meena’s Breastfeeding mod to use the breastfeeding animations from The Sims Medieval. Thanks to @danjaley who sent me the animations some time ago. I was always kind of shocked that nobody had done this. Now I know why. It took a LOT of work to figure out how to execute a custom JAZZ script while carrying a baby. Also TSM has the same baby-as-object thing going on as TS4, so it’s taken quite a bit of massaging. ALSO, though Nona invited folks to produce breastfeeding animations when she released the mod, it turns out that I’ll have to rewrite the breastfeeding interaction and release a new version. (Nona has granted permission to muck with her mods, fortunately.) The good news is that I have it all working for the standing-up (non-rocking-chair) interaction. Except, well, the baby is upside down. Working on that..... The Pets Expansion is still in progress! I’m about to release a small mod to fix pet breed tracking so that you can breed purebred pets. I haven’t figure out if it’s possible to get NRaas Consigner to make use of the breed. :( I’m also working on diseases for pets, fixing some bugs in pet fighting. When those are in good shape, I can go back to the Medicine Cat mod from Warrior Cats because the medicine cats will have something to cure.

Kat’s Massive To-Do/Wishlist
Learn how to convert meshes to different bodyshapes (ts2)
Clean out my WIP folder
Redo old preview pictures
Dig out my old (kathcberg91-era) cc backups and see what’s in there, fix mistakes, give them new thumbnails, and put them up for download (I may or may not have broken the links)
Fix links on my old blog (I think the theme is broken too)
Find a new theme (?) and profile picture
Figure out a good way to take family tree pics for my legacies
Finish my characters page for the decades challenge (and also maybe Breckenridge)?
Set all of my cc to show up in one place (in order in CAS)
Reorganize my projects folder
Learn how to shoeswap things
Learn how to make separates (preferably for categories other than casualwear)
PUT THE SECOND PART OF MY MEDIEVAL HAIR DUMP UP FOR DOWNLOAD (ya’ know, the one I’ve had finished for like half a year now but am just too lazy to bin and take preview pics for???)
A few “mini defaults” for ts2 (e.g. separating the “extra” parts from sunni’s medieval ui defaults)
Figure out mesh-making (I’ve been making renders in blender and playing with the physics engine and it’s really fun so far!)
Convert some ts4 terrain/terrain paint as a default terrain for ts2
Maybe figure out a way to make custom roads reference your default terrain rather than needing to edit the textures individually
Default replace all of the careers, cards, etc. in ts2 with they/them/non-gendered pronouns bc I learned how to edit in-game text the other day and I like to torture myself with long-term projects, apparently
“Finish” my genetic skin setup and put it up for download (the kinda-current version is on my “WIPs folder of doom” page, but I still want to add more, clean up the swatches, find a better way to organize it, etc.) + edit the sortindex numbers
Re-organize & compress my dl folders (again)
Figure out a way to quickly make new packages (I’m currently working with MacroRecorder, which works well, but the free version only allows for 10 repetitions, which isn’t ideal)
Figure out a way to quickly change the sortindex value of a package so you can arrange cc in a certain order without having to edit each individual package file
And now for the wishlist (ts2):
Color wheel (like I said, a girl can dream, right?)
Batch edit for simPE so I don’t have to spend ages editing each individual file whenever I do...anything, really (WITHOUT having to merge files), I should probably post something on mts about this
Less hideous lot imposter textures
A lighting mod that is basically @dreadpirate’s edit to gunmod’s lighting mod, but with the indoor brightness of spookymuffin’s/@dreadpirate’s mm lighting mod, which can be switched back and forth between almighty-hat’s “a world lit by fire” edits (a function of @dreadpirate’s edit of gunmod’s mod)
Figuring out why CAS lags with lots of accessories, makeup, etc. while Bodyshop doesn’t (and if it can be fixed, I’ve double-checked and it’s apparently a known issue, even if you only have a little cc and your computer is capable of handling it)
64-bit version of ts2 (c’mon EA. I’m waiting.)

The Ideal Sims Game
Had some thoughts and have to put them somewhere.
I’ve thought about what I like about different sims games and reached the conclusion that it would be... Mostly a mix between The Sims 2 and The Sims 3.
Hear me out.
“The Sims 6″ or whatever we should call this hypothetical game, would be generally similar to The Sims 2, with some notable differences
CAS
CAS customization options closer to the The Sims 3 level. Color sliders!
Traits, aspirations, lifetime wants, and personality points. Obviously some traits would be removed since personality points cover some of those (mean, outgoing etc), and plenty of traits should be featured later in expansion packs/DLCs so EA can milk their dear cash cow, but as said, DLCs should not be for gameplay essentials, it should be for gameplay enhancement.
Turn ons and turn offs. Should include things such as personality traits, approximate hair color, work type, work level, clothing, glasses, yadda yadda. The hair color would check based on what’s in close proximity by using hexadecimals, that way sims can also be attracted to custom hair colors such as purple hair.
Age options, because sims shouldn’t have to start at the beginning of the adult stage every time.
Height sliders!
Disabilities. Yes, this would include a Simlish sign language. Disabilities should also be able to overlap, and occur because of events and chance cards.
Worldbuilding
The ability to create your own town like in The Sims 2, but the ability to edit the map itself such as adding/removing roads and more.
No townies or NPCs should spawn unless you approve of it. This means you’d be able to create your own NPCs for the town. Your sims shouldn’t be able to go to the hospital if no one is employed in the Medical career, or call a fireman unless no one is in that career, etc. (unless you have chosen yourself in settings that should be created by the game automatically).
Open world and story progression like in The Sims 3 if the player enables it in settings, university shouldn’t be separate. The university system shouldn’t be as complex as in previous The Sims games, just a school essentially but requires more homework and similar. This experience can be elaborated on in expansion packs and DLCs.
More control over economics and politics in the world. Should taxes exist? You decide. Monarchy? Democracy? Dictatorship? All of this should be something the player can fix. Alternatively include this part in a DLC since it’s very specific.
Gameplay
Wants and fears, affected by traits, aspirations, and personality points. A family sim with commitment issues will still fear marriage. A “Gold Digger” lifetime want family sim will want their relatives to marry rich sims.
Aging settings- let players decide for themselves how many days a sim should be a baby, toddler, child, teen, young adult, adult, and elder. The default days should match number of years IRL, because no one is a teenager until they’re 30.
Jealousy changes. Being in love and being in a relationship needs to be a separate thing, because Don Lothario getting slapped for “cheating” on Nina Caliente with his fiancé makes very little sense. Open relationships should be a possibility, perhaps require certain traits for this to happen?
Sims who hate each other shouldn’t necessarily get into violent fights constantly. Traits and personality points etc. should change how the sims act around the people they dislike.
I love chance cards, keep those in please. If anything, add more of them. Also, if chance card choices go against the sim’s personality, possibly have a small % risk that they will lose that trait or gain/lose certain personality points (with the % increasing per time the sim acts out of character)? And of course, chance cards that give you the ability to gain traits. You could also have extra options arise depending on skills, personality points, traits etc. (For example, a charismatic sim should be able to talk themselves out of a situation, or have a greater % chance of success doing so.)
Pre-made sims
The “alternate universe” idea was cool but poorly executed. Feel free to try again, and do so with the old Sims 2 premades. That way, you can take the storylines everyone thought were so cool and give it a new spin, without ruining current canon.
Stop making their skintones lighter...
By following these we essentially have a mix between The Sims 2 and The Sims 3 base games with a few enhancements.
What can be added in expansion packs and DLCs?
How can you milk the cash cow without taking away essentials from gameplay that make players feel forced to buy everything or they can’t play? Well, ideally everything should just be included in the first game, but we know EA doesn’t operate that way.
The key to “expansion packs” is that functions in it should add more to gameplay but not be a requirement to enjoy the game. To quote someone on the Steam review page who bought African portraits for Crusader Kings II: “I have to pay money to be black.” That’s not how it should work.
Things you can leave out from the OG game and include in Expansion packs or DLCs:
CAS
Various clothes and hairstyles. With the color changing tool there’s a lot of room to change things already. Cut down on the number of hairstyles and outfits so more energy can be focused on improving the gameplay aspects. Cosmetics are always best reserved for DLCs.
Tattoos.
Secondary aspirations. They’re good to have in the game to give your sim more depth, but they are not a neccesity and are thus good to save as optional content.
More aspirations and lifetime wants. Goes together with more careers of course, and pet-related lifetime wants for pets expansion pack etc.
Stuff packs that focus on certain time periods, cultures, and more.
Worldbuilding
Alternate start years. A medieval expansion pack, for example, that allows you to create a medieval world specifically, where technological advances aren’t available etc. You could use “into the future” ideas for this too. You would be able to choose whether technological progression should be flat or improve over time. (Imagine the Legacy Challenge done in this!)
On that note, a “Castaway” type of thing would be cool.
Gameplay
Aspiration rewards. Not essential for a base game.
More careers! Can easily be included in a work expansion pack. With this expansion you could include career rewards, more chance cards for all careers (including chance cards that make you gain/lose traits, personality points). Businesses go here too IMO but knowing greedy EA they’d put it in separate expansion packs.
Expansion packs with chance cards and special events for different life stages. A mid-life crisis? Teenagers going through hormone hell? All that doesn’t need to be in the original game but can be included in expansion packs.
While we’re talking about that, a pregnancy DLC sounds like a mess, but this is an opportunity to add triplets and quadruplets, pregnancy tests (although obviously sim-ified), the ability to lie about the father of the child, paternity tests, and more.
Pets! Not much to add here other than that it’s a perfect opportunity to add a unicorn and, idk, the ability for horses to get jobs if your sim has particular traits that lead to nonsense behavior á la Caligula.
Weather and season holidays.
Vacations, because every sims game needs it.
The Sims 3 Supernatural was incredible with the complexity to each supernatural creature. Something similar again, however, it should also acknowledge hybrids (we know this is possible to some degree, because aliens in The Sims 3 had a hidden “alien DNA percentage” value), and no random assignment of supernaturals. They should be rare unless the player changes it to not be so in settings.

@Simblr Community
First of all, I would love to have made a post for everyone I appreciate but I just don’t have time to. One of the things I feared doing this is that people would feel left out and it’s never my intention to do that but I know it is the result sometimes and if you feel like you’ve been left out I am sorry D: hopefully I can show my appreciation through my actions though throughout the year! For now, I wanted to highlight a few more simblrs!
One thing making this post has made me realize is just how many positive interactions I have had over the years here and hopefully I’ll have a lot more.
I’m sorry if even after this you feel left out :( but...my IM box and mailbox is always open! If you are left off it probably means I just haven’t interacted with you before but I’m always eager to meet new people here so just let me know! It is also entirely possible that as I created this I missed out on someone T_T for that I am sorry and I hope I can make up for it in some way in the future...
