It's all "Kids Need To Be Back In School!!" until city schools are so underfunded that multiple schools have to close for multiple days because there's no air condition and it's still hot out, or in winter there's no heat (while the former governor and centrist darling uses state funds to install a heated driveway at the governor's mansion)

I didn't mean to post this on April Fool's, but I can promise it's not a joke, unfortunately.

Since I graduated in December, I've been unable to find a job - either getting rejections or no reply whatsoever, and where I live currently isn't the most productive area with opportunities. Thankfully, up until now, I've had savings and a minor freelance gig to help take care of bills and my pets, but any money I had put back is about gone. It's frustrating and embarrassing, but I'm unsure how to make ends meet from here on out until I can find a job.

I've fought with myself to even ask this, especially since my writing has been so slow-going due to job hunting and I don't have much to offer, but I know I don't have much else to lose at the moment while I keep doing applications.

I'd be glad to write ficlets, poetry, or anything similar for a Ko-Fi, pay what you'd like or can. My writing tag is here, but I can discuss any fandoms or interests via DMs. Also, please, I know times are tough and money is tight for everyone, so don't feel bad if you can't do anything. Thank you if you read this far, too - sorry to break up the boop-fest with this.

Wondering how other people compare to my chronic illness adventure of accumulating specialists. How you interpret this question is up to you - for my part I'm thinking about people I go to regularly and also specialists that I've gone to repeatedly, even if I'm not on an annual/biannual cycle with them.

Life is hard! Consider buying my stuff!

My life isn't quite falling apart, but things have gotten really tricky lately. One housemate (and their super destructive, permanent houseguest) is refusing to pay their share of rent or utilities for the next three months, and another is refusing to pay their full share of rent for that same amount of time and is making us cover around $75 every month, and I'm having to double-up my hours at work while still being a full-time student (and also one of my professors, who we're 99% sure is using ChatGPT to generate her citations because none of them exist and we pointed this out, hates my guts and has been grading me really harshly and forcing me to go full-sail on every assignment to ridiculous degrees in order to pass this required class).

My spouse is working on getting full-time at their job, but it looks like they won't be able to until December, and we also have no idea how much rent is going to increase this year-- my guess is it's going to go up another $500, same as last year, to a total of $3,000, so things are gonna get really fucking bumpy until around January, probably.

Since when did we start charging money on patreon for fanfics 😭😭😭😭 is this for real😭

hi, love. I haven't seen that many people doing the Patreon thing when it comes to fanfic, but it's pretty common for people who draw for example to set up a Patreon. I believe that everyone who does, just like myself, needs the money. I wouldn't be doing it if i didn't need to. I figured the Patreon setup was the best idea since it's not really that common for people to tip writers, we've been struggling with getting reblogs and comments, so you can imagine.

Right now, I'm applying and doing tests to get an internship, which still won't be enough because I'm also trying to apply for a master's. So, yeah, I'm really thankful for everyone who tipped me on ko-fi and subscribed to my Patreon, last month my savings were over, and the Patreon money was what helped me pay for some medical stuff I needed (Idk if you saw the whole mick schumacher's sick club, but yeah — huge thank you for everyone who subscribed/donated btw).

We often see fic writers as little robots who don't eat, drink, or sleep. We request stuff, and expect an instant reply, and when we get the content we don't even go back to the page to tell the writer our thoughts. We don't reblog, nor leave comments, but still, we expect them to keep writing and keep sharing everything as if it didn't take hours, sometimes days to come up with a 1k piece polished to what we think readers will like best. I hope I don't sound rude, I'm just trying to make a point because I'm tired of seeing writers deactivating, tired of seeing my friends getting writer's block and then people still demanding things.

On top of that, I'm still posting a lot here, from smau to blubs and long fic requests (and I won't even talk about how some pieces aren't even getting a hundred notes, which always makes me wonder if I'm doing something wrong, if my writing is bad, or if there's anything that I could do to make the reader's experience more enjoyable), and it takes a lot of time, it's even harder to balance the two profiles now, but still, I keep sharing some of my work for free. so please, please, don't make me feel bad about needing money. thanks ❤️.

how much mold is considered a mold problem in your bedroom also can mold make your heart rate fucked up thanks. Aoh also the wall which has the mold literally falls apart if I touch it so. Not really sure how to get rid of it also I assume there's more mold on the other side of the wall??? idk I think every couple of months I discover mold somewhere and panic and then clean it and forget about it.

Hello everyone! So my friend, Eric (@aziru.cos on Instagram), recently found out he has an aneurysm and will need surgery. This has been a really heavy weight on us and something that has been hard to predict what will happen next with. Mostly it means a lot of doctors visits right now. With him also having Polycystic Kidney Disease, it means that he might have to go on dialysis after the surgery. So as you can imagine, it’s been stressful.

But to get to the point, we're trying to raise money in order to take care of medical and living expenses for surgery and the time after. it is my choice to not be partnered but christ it is expensive to be a single-income household! the vet just quoted ruthie’s bill for today at $450 and that’s without any meds, which she cheerfully informed me will be “pretty expensive.” it feels like every time I get close to digging myself out of the last financial hole, I get walloped with another huge bill and there’s next month’s budgeted savings gone because I don’t have anybody else’s income to help provide a cushion. my rent is the same as my married friends’ rent, my childcare expenses will be the same, but I have to do it all on half the salary. SORRY for venting I understand these are the consequences of my own choices but I DO kinda resent that our society is set up to make not being part of a couple a significant financial hardship!!!

Hello! My name is Erica, and this is a fundraiser for my senior kitty Milo. Milo is 17 years old and was recently diagnosed with hyperthyroidism. Milo also has kidney disease and has not been feeling well for quite a while, needing many trips to the vet and blood tests. This past Saturday, October 29th, Milo had to be hospitalized. His new thyroid medicine has now made his thyroid levels too LOW. We were told to stop giving him his medication and return in two weeks for more tests.

The vet exams, blood tests, medicine, hospitalization and prescription diet have been costly, so I am asking for donations to help with Milo's ongoing healthcare expenses. I am aware that Milo is very old so I probably don't have much time left with him, but all I want is for him to feel like himself again. I just want my buddy boy back.
