disabled trans lesbian in need of help with housing & dental work
hello, i am a schizophrenic cripple who is currently in need of a lot of dental work, including fillings, extractions, and deep cleaning. my insurance won't cover everything, and I've been given a total of $680 for the procedures that aren't covered. i have been homeless for the last 3 years, so my teeth have deteriorated greatly, and they impact my ability to eat, and my general quality of life.
i also need help with necessities, as well as rent, which i have been struggling to pay, as my landlord wants $475/month and I only make $245/month for being in the process of applying for disability. i have not been able to work for years due to the severity of my disabilities, and a severe injury to my leg. if you are interested in supporting me, i make zines about queerness, including topics like bigenderism, bisexuality, transmasculinity, aromanticism, transsexuality and more, and i have also released a zine about plurality. you can find these on my Ko-Fi shop, as well as generally donate there
you can also support us here:
cash app: $glitterGraphix
pay pal: glittergraphicnightmare @ gmail . com
venmo: equinoxian
chime: $equinoxian
thanks for reading, supporting & interacting, have a great day. you are appreciated

Hello, friends! I have, per friends' request, created a GoFundMe for my Stupid Cancer Bills. At this point, I am just desperately trying to keep my head above water!
Venmo/cashapp are @irishais, and here's my PayPal.me if that's preferred.
If people could reblog and share this, that would be deeply appreciated.

Before you pay that not-covered hospital bill:
I want to take a min to spread awareness for the No Surprises Act after noticing a reddit post earlier.
This protection for patients just popped up in the past couple years, and the one major downside is that it's up to the patients to speak up to make use of it, but not everyone knows what it is.
"If you have private health insurance, these new protections ban the most common types of surprise bills. If you’re uninsured or you decide not to use your health insurance for a service, under these protections, you can often get a good faith estimate of the cost of your care up front, before your visit."
Consumer fact sheet
Typically, health insurance companies will help pay for bills from "in-network" providers, AKA their VIP inner circle gang turf. They won't help pay if you get medical care from another gang's henchmen (out of network).
This means that sometimes, a person would go to the hospital, which they knew had been covered by their insurance before, so they expect it's going to be relatively affordable. But they didn't know that multiple medical "gangs" were working in the same hospital. Their anesthesiologist, for example, was from a different gang. That specialist was out of network even though the surgeon and nurses were all in network.
Boom. Big bill for thousands of dollars and their insurance refuses to help pay it.
Tumblr media
But now we have this law! The No Surprises Act means that insurance companies need to cover "surprise" expenses (under certain conditions).
If you don't have health insurance, hospitals and clinics need to give you an accurate quote before you get services, then foot the bill if they were too far off the mark.
The Fact Sheet section of the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid services have some wonderful user-friendly resources for you about health insurance and how this act works.
Keep in mind that Medicare and government-run programs always have weird rules for everything, so you might have different (yet similar) protections through those programs.
If you have a medical bill that wasn't covered by insurance and you think it might count as a surprise bill, please check out your rights and consider fighting it instead of letting it become a stressful expense or debt you can't repay.
Go here to start figuring things out for your situation:
Health insurance companies have way, waaaaay too much power over our lives. We need every drop of protection we can get - but it only counts as much as we can understand and use those protections!

How to Pay Hospital Bills When You’re Flat Broke
It’s a fucking travesty that the leading cause of bankruptcy in these United States is medical bills. Not credit card bills nor risky investments. Not even student loans, but hospital bills. Invoices racked up through freak accidents and diseases the patient certainly didn’t ask for and would probably prefer to live without.
To our readers in other, more civilized countries, you’re dismissed. This week we’re going to be dissecting a uniquely American problem: exorbitant medical bills and how to pay them.
The CEO of GoFundMe, an online crowd-funding platform, never dreamed that his company would become synonymous with “I’m broke and need $300,000 to pay for my child’s cancer treatment.” What he envisioned as a way for entrepreneurs and artists to raise money for their passion projects has become the last desperate hope of sick and injured Americans on the verge of total financial ruin.
It blows, dear readers. It fucking blows.

Financial Emergency: Medical Bills and Holiday Funds
As much as I hate asking for financial help...unfortunately, I need to.
For the short version: after experiencing health problems and over a dozen doctor visits, my medical bills are starting to pile up. This has left me on a very tight budget, including next to no holiday funds for Christmas shopping for my family and friends. And I fear that other costs will begin to suffer soon, like my food budget and bills.
Long and detailed story below:
So, I think I should give you guys some info about what's happened to me the past month. I've been to the doctor half a dozen times for gastro pain and some unusually excessive blood loss (I apologize for the gross implications).
The gastro troubles led to me being diagnosed with "gastroesophageal reflux disease," which is basically a mix of gas buildup, indigestion, and acid reflux. It's not life threatening and I'm taking meds to handle the pain. As for the excessive bleeding, the cause of it is still unknown. I'm actually going back in tomorrow to be tested for Cushing's disease.
As expected, all of these doctor visits have led to many medical bills. For blood draws, and ultrasounds, and even a CT scan. And this couldn't have come at a worse time since Christmas is rapidly approaching. My holiday funds have been drained. And I still have more bills to pay (still have two more doctor appointments coming up).
I apologize if any of this was TMI, but you guys deserve to know what's going on when I ask for financial help. All I can do now is ask any of you for help. Whether it's donating or spreading the post around or just offering me moral support, I genuinely appreciate you guys.
I'll be accepting donations through Ko-Fi. Thank you for your time.

No one likes to have to do this but I have set up a GoFundMe for my treatment here in the UK.
I'm an American who got stuck here after a cancer diagnosis in May. I was on a marriage visitor visa so I could marry my now Husband in July.
As the plan was not to live here in the UK I need pay for my treatment.
Unfortunately after 6 rounds of chemotherapy we found out it grew and had a choice to make that weekend. We could stay or go home for the rest of the treatment.
Those rounds ended up costing £30,000.
That weekend my hand and a portion of my face went numb. We went back to the hospital and found out the cancer moved to my brain and I could not fly home.
So I've been stuck here receiving treatment that has been more intense than the previous rounds of chemotherapy. Which comes with a much higher price tag.
I don't have an estimate for the rest of the treatment for this since it's ongoing but I do have the cost of the Stem Cell transplant portion. That number ended up being £125,000 that needs to be paid upfront.
Any help is greatly appreciated be it donations or sharing.

So I already have a visual impairment, lupus, arthritic knees and oodles of mental health issues, but now I have
~*°•°*~a brand new mysterious GI issue~*°•°*~
that I'm having to wait months to get checked out with a gastroscopy.
Because of that, I've had to go to the ER a ridiculous number of times recently thanks to episodes of extreme pain, uncontrollable vomiting, and lack of appetite, and my PCP literally telling me to go there. So now I've got a ton of medical bills to pay and nothing left for basic needs.
I made a wishlist for food, helpful medical shit and toiletries. Anything from it would be amazing, frankly. I also have a venmo if you'd rather send cash instead, and of course, there's still my pinned Fundraiser for fixing my damn house.
Amazon wishlist: [link]
Venmo/whatever: [@ifridiot]
Thank you so much for taking the time to read this. Every reblog and share helps more than I can say.

Dad's Medical Fund
In short, my dad has developed an infection in his blood and was getting treatment - today (2-1-24) he called me and said their giving him trouble after settling him in the facility they transferred to last night, that his insurance is supposedly no good to cover it.
I've started a fund to hopefully help this, as I don't want him to step away from potentially good treatment (as understandable as the stupidity is and wanting to walk away). The amount is just a ballpark until I get an update on what else is going on.
Any and all help is appreciated

not what i usually post but…
Tumblr media Tumblr media
this is Rocco, my friend’s cat and one of the sweetest animals i’ve ever met.
Rocco is currently facing a health crisis — he has just been diagnosed with hyperthyroidism as well as liver and pancreas abnormalities. he may also have cancer. his kitty parent, a genderqueer young adult, has no way to help him, because they do not have the funds to get him additional testing or appropriate care for any of these conditions.
here’s a link to his page:
without treatment, hyperthyroidism is a slow and painful disease that will starve Rocco until he is too weak to fight. there is a medicine to treat him, but the barrier is cost.
i’ve never reposted anything asking for help on here because it’s hard to know what’s legit and what’s not. but i can promise you - this is a close personal friend of mine’s cat who is suffering. i’ll be donating some of my own, and i hope you can give what you can. even just $1 gets that much closer to the goal.
even just reblogging to signal boost helps.
thanks for reading this far, and here’s a bonus Rocco for your trouble:

Your Yearly Free Medical Care Checklist
If you are an American who is lucky enough to have health insurance, you almost certainly have free medical care coming your way.
Several annual and semi-annual services are available to you with no copay—and you have absolutely no reason not to use them. Technically, you have already bought them, as their cost is built into the premiums you’ve already paid. And your body will thank you for it! Even if you feel perfectly healthy, establishing a baseline of health will help your medical professionals detect problems early.
Pro-tip: don’t wait until the end of the year to do all this stuff! Every medical office I’ve ever been to is slammed during November and December as everyone tries to use up their benefits. Schedule it now to avoid the crush.
Here’s what you should be doing every year.

This week has been extremely difficult for my family and I. My dad has been having chest pains for a couple of days, on Wednesday he was admitted to the hospital because he had a heart attack
We found out yesterday that he has to have a quadruple bypass Monday afternoon
Now we're going to be relying solely on mine and my step mom's income for a couple of months until he's cleared to go back to work. We need help. Please donate if you can, if you can't that's okay too.

Alix needs some help!
Tumblr media
👑 I've been dealing with some hard times. I needed emergency dental work due to immense pain, despite lacking the funds necessary for a crown. I don't like asking for help, but since I'm in a pinch (I had to suddenly use money meant for living expenses) I'm raising $ to meet my 1K goal. Please read more below & share! Thank you!!
Tumblr media
I'll be streaming twice a week on Twitch: Mondays & Wednesdays @ 9am PT! I had to take an extended break because of pain, but I'm planning to at least stream the last two weeks of February with a break afterward once my final crown is delivered. My first stream is for $15 Doodles on Monday, February 19th @ 9am PT!
Tumblr media
Would you like me to draw something for you? You're in luck!! I have limited slots for character art open: 4 slots half-body, 5 slots full body. I'd love to draw for you, whether it's your own character or a fave from media you like! DM with details!
Tumblr media
I've been hard at work on a zine featuring dragons!! This PWYW zine is technically free, but if you choose to support with $ everything will go toward my medical bills. I'm really excited to share what I've been making very soon!
Tumblr media
I'm also accepting $ directly! You're welcome to reach out for my V* information (that's the best way to send something), or if you want to share a bit without reaching out, check out my tip jar! I deeply appreciate anything I receive. Thanks so much!! Want to share this info with someone off Tumblr? Please use this link to spread the word! I'm working hard to make this the only other time I ask for help. Thanks for reading (and for sharing)! 💖✨
