I once saw this video about how Heisei Godzilla is pretty much what people think of when they hear the name "Godzilla." It's also the version the media tends lean toward for commercials and promotions. Personally, I can't say I disagree. Heisei Goji does check all the boxes when it comes to Godzilla's general traits.
Big? Check.
Powerful? Check.
Destroys cities? Check.
Roars a lot? Check.
Blows atomic ray beam from mouth? Check.
Fights other monsters? Check.
But what do y'all think? Is Heisei Goji the definitive Goji?
Random headcanon: Miss Pauling loves action movies -- she'll take basically anything with any kind of violence. War movies, the Godfather, dubbed kaiju flicks, whatever. She has to justify it to the Administrator that she's "doing research", and is then asked to take notes. When 1977 comes around, Miss Pauling absolutely knows who Mechagodzilla is. Of course, they're all unrealistic enough that ultimately, she has to come up with the excuse that hey, a stopped clock is right twice a day, and it helps keep in touch with popular misconceptions about how gunfights work -- there's those police reports about those gangsters who never realized that you could run out of bullets and you'd have to take a bunch of time to reload, y'know? Secretly, however, she's just watching them for their own sake. It's just a fun afternoon for her.
Trying to draw Godzilla characters from memory (with slight elements of personal interpretations). Definitely missed a few, but it's like 10pm for me right now lmao.
Since I've already got like three projects going, I ain't adding a fourth one any time soon, but I might do little bits of random fan art for other things here and there.
Plus I really don't know if my art stye really suits Godzilla, like, at all. I feel like the monsters would be way too expressive if I used my normal "rules".
