déjà vu | benny weir x fem!reader
description: y/n struggles with a depressive episode and benny is there to help.
trigger warnings: mentions of depression, mentions of anxiety, fluff, angst, etc. read at your own risk.
word count: <1k
With your eyes closed, your lashes kissed the apples of your cheeks as small snored escaped your parted lips. The covers clung around your body tightly, keeping you warm throughout the night. Your hair was matted against your forehead. You had no motivation to get out of bed and let yourself sleep through your alarm clock.
"Honey?" Your mother's voice was heard, but you were unable to respond, deep in sleep. She walked further into the room and gently pressed her palm against your shoulder. You nestled deeper into the pillows and let yourself sleep.
"You've gotta get ready for school. Your alarm's been going off for ten minutes," She spoke a bit sternly. You remained still beneath the blankets. She released a soft breath in defeat and shut the alarm off, exiting the room. She seemed to have given up on getting you out of bed, so you let sleep consume you.
.
Ethan was forcing his sneaker onto his foot as Benny came rushing into his bedroom late that morning before school.
"Have you seen Y/N? She didn't stop by this morning," Benny's pupils dilated as he watched Ethan quickly tie his shoes.
Leaning back up to look at Benny, Ethan hummed and shook his head, "Maybe she's sick."
Benny shook his head, "She always calls me if she's staying home sick."
"You think something's wrong?" Ethan raised his brows.
The tall, skinny brunette shrugged but in his eyes it was easy to read over his worries about you. The two of them scurried down the stairs with their bags slung around their shoulders and exited the Morgan household. The two of them walked along the sidewalk, towards your house.
"Maybe she just slept through her alarm, she does that a lot," Ethan suggested as they crossed the street to the small house you lived in. Benny released a gentle sigh and knocked on the front door quickly.
When the door opened, revealing your mother, she offered them a small grin. "I tried getting her out of bed, she wouldn't budge," Your mom let them enter the house as Benny and Ethan both walked in.
"I'll go check on her, E," Benny looked to the shorter teen and scurried up the stairs. He walked down the hall, to the white door at the end of it. The door was cracked as he gently pushed it open with the pack of his palm. Your eyes were still closed as you laid under the covers, overtaken by slumber.
Benny watched as you slept, the room was filled with the aroma of dirty laundry. His eyes diverted to the clothes that were scattered across the floor and the crumbled pieces of paper that sprawled out on your desk. He released a gently breath and walked towards your bed. He could tell something was bothering you, despite simply being asleep. He sat against the edge of them bed, making you groan gently at the sudden dip in your mattress.
"You okay, Y/N/N?" Benny asked in a whisper.
You hummed in response and pulled the covers over you tighter, ignoring his question. He pulled his lips into a thin line and stared at you. His lanky fingers reached for the blankets and slowly pulled them off you. Your body was exposed into the cool air of your bedroom.
"Benny," You whined and sat up in your bed, your hair was a complete mess and your skin glistened with oil in the reflection of the sun's rays.
"What's going on?" He asked quietly, concern overwhelmed his tone.
"I was sleeping and you disturbed that," You huffed, tasting the morning breath that tasted against your tongue.
"Y/N," Benny gave you a knowing look, raising his brows.
You looked at him for a moment and sighed, sitting against the edge of the bed. "It's happening again," You whispered, shamefully.
Benny parted his lips and looked at you with ease. He cleared his throat, not wanting to say anything that would offend you, "You mean a depressive episode, right?" You nodded in response and stared at your lap, picking at your nails.
"I just wish it would go away," You picked your head up to look at him, noticing that he moved closer to you. Your eyes glossed with tears as your chapped lips parted gently.
"It will," Benny gave you a thin smile, hoping that it would ease your distress. You released a shaky breath and felt a few tears slip from your eyes, rolling down your cheeks and to your chin. He hated seeing you this way. You fell weak and Benny took notice of this, which caused him to wrap his arms around your shoulders and pulling you close against him. Your face rested against his chest, overwhelmed with tranquility in his embrace.
Benny held you tightly and dipped his chin down to speak to you more intimately, "I've got you, Y/N/N. It's okay."
.

The Turn: Part 2 // mbav fic
Summary: (yet another) canon divergent fic from 1.13 “ReVamped” when Jesse bit Ethan and what if Sarah came too late and left Ethan to turn into a vampire? And how are Benny, Sarah and Ethan himself handling the change?
A/N: Here is the second part, sorry it took so long to post! If you wanna read the first part it’s here. This is the last part for now so it’s an open ending. I might come back to this story some day but I don’t have anything planned or written yet so it could take a while. I hope that’s not gonna stop people from reading, feedback is still very much appreciated, it would actually motivate me to continue!
Word count: ~ 2k
Dying was painful. Jesse's teeth on his neck have been, mildly said, unpleasant. It had hurt a lot but nothing compared to how he felt right now. It was excruciating.
Make it stop, make it stop!
Everyone watched Ethan how he was tossing and turning on the bed and shaking horribly, an expression of extreme pain twisting his face. "Right now his body is trying to fight off the venom that's been spread, not knowing that the battle is already lost. The body is trying everything to reject the vampire curse since it's unnatural," Benny's grandma told them. Sarah nodded solemnly, she could still remember her own transformation very well, unfortunately.
Benny had said nothing since they arrived at his house and put Ethan on his bed. At first he still had no pulse and it was eerie to carry an essential dead Ethan and watch him lying there, lifeless. It was something that Benny never thought he would witness and never had wanted to. It was his worst nightmare. Sure, he was afraid of dying young and his death being meaningless but Ethan…this was worse. He didn't notice how tense he'd been when Ethan finally woke up (or came back to life?) and his heart was beating again and Benny relaxed a little before Ethan settled into this stage where he seemed to be in more pain than before.
"Benny, would you come and help me down in the cellar, dear?" Benny reluctantly stepped away from Ethan who was still writhing in pain, his eyes closed shut.
"Sarah?" His voice was croaky, from not speaking for an hour and being on the edge of tears. He wasn't going to cry, he had to stay strong. Sarah turned around and looked at Benny, her arms entwined and her warm, brown eyes shining with concern. He cleared his throat, "Watch Ethan and shout if anything changes, okay?"
She nodded. "Of course."
Benny acknowledged it with another nod and followed his grandma out the door towards her 'secret shelf'. He was still in his tux without the bow tie but he didn't even think about changing, it was the last thing on his mind. His bones felt heavy as they carried him down the stairs.
"Will you pass me the tubes, darling?" Evelyn Weir prepared the bright red liquid and filled it up into four small packages. It wasn't enough but she didn't have more of the blood substitute at the moment so she just hoped it would fill Ethan for the time being. She watched her grandson get the tubes from the shelf mechanically, his face sullen. She sighed.
"Benny, there's something we need to talk about." She sat down next to Benny who still didn't look at her, his eyes were far away. "Ethan…might be different when he comes back and you need to be prepared for that."
His head whipped towards her. "What do you mean?"
"He'll be a fledgling when he wakes up and his first and foremost craving will be blood now. The temptation will be incredibly strong the first few days and weeks if he decides not to feed and I need you to be there for him. This whole experience must have been very traumatic so you have to help him."
Benny nodded, he would do anything for his best friend. "He might get aggressive and testy and will try anything to get to blood even if he isn't consciously aware of it, the need will drive him and we don't know yet how strong Ethan is to resist it."
"He's the strongest person I know." Benny said defiantly. If not Ethan who would be able to manage it?
Benny took the potion but stared at his Grandma confused. "Wait, why didn't you tell Sarah any of this?"
Evelyn nodded in agreement. "He is but we don't know how the vampirism will affect him as a seer. I doubt his abilities will be gone but they could be different or enhanced and the powers could make him more instable and jumbled. I tell you this because you're his best friend and you understand Ethan more than anyone else, you'll remind him of who he is when he can't do it himself. And of course, the other way around too." She smiled and gave Benny a peck on his forehead. He blushed, not because of the kiss but because of her words.
She stood up and filled the blood substitute flasks into two full packed bags. "We should go back, Ethan should wake up soon. But before we go, let's put some balm on your injuries, you got hit back there quite badly." Evelyn turned around to her shelf and took out a finished brewed flask of balming potion, she always had a little bit stocked. It was a rather harmless potion with not too complicated ingredients that didn't have to be fresh.
"She's a fledgling herself, she knows how it is, she will be able to help Ethan in her own way." Benny uncapped the lid and took a sip. He grimaced. "All of it," Evelyn said sternly. Benny wanted to protest, he didn't even feel the pain but he knew it would come back later.
He reluctantly swallowed the rest, it didn't taste good but he could already feel his back and legs mending and his headache subsiding. As gross as the potion tasted, at least the healing went quick and painless.
They returned to Benny's room with the blood to a still shaking Ethan and a worried Sarah. "He keeps muttering something about 'make it stop, make it stop', I don't know what to do."
Benny's grandma comforted her. "Don't worry Sarah, that's the pain he's going through but it will stop soon, we can only wait." Sarah nodded but she still looked concerned. She remembered seeing Ethan with his life on the line, she'd seen him die and she wouldn't be able to forget it so fast. She couldn't help him then and she couldn't help him now. A real screw up she was, she thought.
A few minutes later Ethan suddenly stood up in the bed with a gasp and opened his eyes. "Ethan!" Benny immediately rushed to him and the dark haired boy tried to assemble his overwhelming thoughts but there was only one thought sticking out.
"Hey E, how are you?" Ethan looked up to see Benny looking at him with a concerned but relieved expression. What happened? A quick search through his brain and he found the answer.
There was Jesse cornering him… "I wanna make you suffer, now stop struggling, I've got something for you."
…And he was bitten, there was pain…he was drained of blood. Blood…
"Your blood is so tempting even just like this."
…And there was Sarah… "Get the hell away from him!"
And then…darkness.
"Ethan, are you okay?" Benny's worried tone reached his ears but he barely registered it. The spellmaster was right there in front of him, overwhelming his senses. He smelled two other people in the room that he could immediately identify as Sarah and Benny's grandma. Sarah smelled differently than the other two, almost bittersweet but it wasn't appealing, it reminded him of death.
"Agh!" An onslaught of pain erupted from his skull. He thought it was over and yet another burning ache settled in his throat that almost made him choke. Ethan felt Benny looming over him, could smell his scent in a way he couldn't before, he smelled like peanuts and vanilla in the weirdest way but it was unmistakably Benny. Underneath it he smelled a delicious, rich aroma that made his mouth water.
"Yeah", a rasp came out, "I'm fine." He cleared his throat and looked at Benny again whose hand was curled around his arm since he woke up.
He stared at Benny's neck and his eyes found his jugular vein that was pumping blood through his body. Ethan didn't know why it stood out to him but he wanted to rip into it and consume the red liquid hiding underneath. Blood, yeah, he wanted the blood. He drew closer to his best friend.
"Ethan, no!" A hand pushed him back down on the bed, he snarled and pushed the hand away. He grabbed a hold of Benny's arm but before he could drag him closer and get his teeth anywhere near the tantalizing veins, a much stronger, firmer hand pushed on his chest and held him down. He knew it was Sarah, his eyes were glowing golden and he snapped at her with his fangs. How dare she come in between him and his feeding, she could get her own meal!
Benny jumped away a few metres as soon as his arm was freed, wide eyed. "He needs the blood substitute now, he's going berserk!" Sarah screamed while she tried to keep Ethan from snacking on his best friend. It was harder than she thought, his fledgling urges and powers making him stronger and more determined. Sarah had a little advantage since she had more experience with them and Ethan didn't know how to use them yet but he was running on instinct and was nearly overpowering her.
Evelyn grabbed the bags from Benny's desk where she deposited them and passed them to Sarah who fumbled with the opening of one, clamped it between Ethan's teeth and forced the blood substitute down his throat. It immediately gave Ethan flashbacks to Jesse feeding him his blood but he swallowed, compliant. It smelled and tasted so much like the thing he was craving and he could feel his headache and the burning in his throat subside the longer he kept on drinking. It didn't feel quite right though but for the time being he didn't care, it was satisfying enough. He took a hold of the bag, greedily swallowing down the rest.
Sarah made sure Ethan finished the first bag before she lessened her grip on him but his fangs were still out and he looked hungrily at the two humans standing in the far corner. It wasn't enough, he needed more. Sarah threw the second bag into his lap and he quickly ripped into it with his fangs, the liquid spilling out on the sides and staining his mouth and white shirt even more red.
Benny watched in quite a bit of a shock how his best friend was tearing into the blood bag like…an animal. And the way he looked at him before, he was like…like a predator. He thought he would laugh because he couldn't ever imagine Ethan being like that, it was too unlike him, that boy apologized to his bullies when they made him trip. But this was real and Benny was just lucky that it wasn't his arm that was in between Ethan's teeth right now.
Sarah turned to him and his grandma while Ethan was busy slurping on the blood bag. "Right now he doesn't have much recollection of anything, the only thing his body knows is that it wants blood and there are two humans in this room which are a really bad temptation." She said in an apologetic tone as she was essentially kicking them out of their own home.
Evelyn nodded. "I should've known and reacted quicker. It's all right, we'll leave for now." She touched Benny's arm who was still staring at Ethan.
"Benny." His grandma said and put her hand on Benny's shoulder, guiding him out. His eyes didn't leave Ethan as he followed her out until they closed the door, leaving Ethan and Sarah alone in his room.
