no powers university au: after being falsely accused of physical assault, wrongfully treated by adults and having his voice ignored, akira loses his ability to speak due to the trauma, becoming selectively mute as a result.
he meets goro akechi, local campus sensation and an upperclassman, who just so happens to be very fluent in sign language.
link to original twitter thread here. (note: i just borrowed the scene from A Silent Voice, this isn’t actually an au of A Silent Voice)

no listen. king seven deadly sins is. he is SUCH a good character. he's sensitive and can't really tell if teasing is lighthearted or malicious. he's protective but feels like he can never protect anyone. he's strong but sees himself as weak because the people around him are stronger and he couldn't protect anyone. he's serious and struggles to let loose. he has an inferiority complex. he just wants to be loved. no, just wants to be worthy. he feels like he needs to constantly prove himself to be worth anything. he's the fairy king, but he doesn't think he is. he lost his memories for 100+ years thus causing him to "abandon" the fairy king's forest which led to its ultimate destruction. he took the brunt of helbram's crimes and was labelled the sin of sloth because he "let it all happen". he believes he's guilty of his sin. he believes it with his whole entire heart. he doesn't Really know how to blame other people and instead pins the blame on himself. “i’ve got to atone for this; for making my friend suffer so much longer than anybody should ever have to endure, for not realizing what he was going through, and for not keeping that important promise that i made to diane. but, i’m never gonna forget". "if you really knew the grief of losing someone precious to you, you wouldn't be so willing to die". "the fairy king falls from the sky to his death - what unfortunate irony that tale would be". "i am a selfish king". he's shy. he overreacts. he loves his sister. he loves the forest. he's willing to die for everything he loves. he has trouble trusting people. he makes his own clothes. he used to hate humans. he talks to himself. he talks to oslo. he loves diane. he gets jealous easily. he is silly. he is the fairy king. his name is harlequin.

can you get the audio of filbo from the very very beginning of the game going "I know who you are!" i need it for a meme
“I know who you are… you’re The Journalist! I knew it was stupid to ask.”
Hey, it’s that line from the soundtrack!
Apparently, the original ask was sent on November 16th. I hope this wasn’t too late for your meme-making endeavors.

One and Oni Itto 👹👹💥
Tumblr media
18/11/21 - Genshin challenge 12|16 Look it’s my Lock Screen 🤪🤪😜 I was so happy when I finished this one ! It was the first drawing I genuinely liked in quite a long time 😥😥 I think Itto is one of the best crafted characters in genshin. He has an amazing personality (I could hear his voicelines for weeks nonstop), one of the most unique character designs (in Genshin), and my favorite english voice actor ( that I met with Persona 5’s Ryuji, another fave of mine), Max Mittelman. Plus, he’s voiced in Japanese by the guy who sang some of my favorite old anisongs too (Innocent Sorrow from D. Gray Man and Resonance from Soul Eater), T. M. Revolution! Never thought the guy voice acted too, but mAN he slays there too !!! I can’t even imagine how much Hoyo spends with those castings…….,,,, I only pre-farmed for 2 characters in all of my Genshin story: Venti, and then Itto. Good times 😔😔😔

Did a bunch of drawings of Pete-
my favourite boooooyyy
I adore him so much and I love that he is voiced by Max Mittelman 👀💕 (my sis noticed that Pete's voice sounds familiar and then only after she told me it is Max I realized and my heart opened up since Max also voices my fav Genshin boy 👁👁💕)
Hwr- words can not describe how much I love Pete for his dorky- and nerdiness! I adore everything he says 😫👌💕
I also saw that a lot people complain about the same voicelines 👁👁
as a passionate genshin player I just can say-
"Osmanthus wine tastes the same as I remember-"
Hwr! I also love how the people who made the game made sure to do proper research on all the insects that appear in the game! Since I started playing I find myself researching the different creatures aswell 👁👁💕
also the puns
and the 80s
and the artstyle
it's all so colorful
and the hysteric Orb Weavers when you take on step too close to them
I love it all so much-

Thoughts on Final Fantasy VII Rebirth [2 out of 2]
Refer to part 1 before reading please
The cast has seen improvements all around Brianna White’s Aerith was already an all time performance for the series and it being joined not only by Suzie Yeung’s Yuffie but also by John Eric Bentley’s Barrett was a great surprise and a huge glow up from Remake. It might be too early to tell but between the interview where they told her to tone down her acting because it was too good (her vomiting noises specifically) and the sheer strength of the cast this time around I wouldn’t be surprised if she was the performance of the year at The Game Awards later this year. As for Barrett the main factor is that Rebirth gave Bentley more to work with and he sure took advantage of it delivering a performance worthy of the nuance Barrett deserves. This is not to say the other performances where bad as Cody Christian, Britt Barton, Max Mittelman and Paul Tinto all did great jobs as Cloud, Tifa, Red XIII and Cait Sith respectively or the side characters like Caleb Pierce, Kayli Mills and Piper Reese all did fantastic jobs as Zack, Cissnei and Elena but we would be here for like 8 more paragraphs if I listed every performance[also wanted to drop here Matt Mercer and J Michael Tatum as Vincent and Cid to finish up the main cast].
Gameplay wise it plays like a faster version of what Remake was doing which is just an ATB version of Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII’s combat which is to say it plays really good, the game now includes way more commands and allows you to stack even more wacky materia to make your characters as customizable as you can without dropping what made them unique and letting you work with whatever party you vibe with the most (Aerith and Yuffie is the best party and I will die on this hill), the second most important gamemode is the exploration section of the game which unlike 7 Remake or 16 is very open while still filling condensed unlike 15’s huge vastness this one is closer in approach to the always reliable Witcher 3 open world zones but that doesn’t mean it drops the basics of the huge open world trend, like many of its kind Rebirth has the infamous Ubisoft towers, (which hot take but I enjoy in a checklist sort of way) some random busywork and the third gameplay pillar minigames which there are a lot, probably too many to talk about here without making this longer than it needs to (which it already kinda is) but one I do wanna talk about is Queen’s Blood as its questline was a great little distraction with bizarre analogue horror elements that I didn’t expect from the obligatory FF card game at all while also being a somewhat fun game with some interesting strategic depth.
From here on out I’m gonna talk about the ending so skip from here to the conclusion if you want to keep reading spoiler free but otherwise. [First off the second visit to the Golden Saucer is great fun, this time the “date” goes fantastic as you visit Loveless, a beautiful rhythm game and the story of a knight fighting darkness to save his beloved accompanied by some of the best music the game has to offer and topped with a musical performance by Aerith with her singing voice being provided by Loren Allred who performs a gorgeous ballad to close out a contender for moment of the year, and afterwards if you upped your relationship to your date enough you get one of the “intimate endings” which are little character moments between Cloud and whoever he is with that I hope will be revisited in the third game as they are just wonderful. Afterwards we get a slightly better version of the Cait Sith liar reveal during the Dio vs Don Corneo tournament and soon we are, sailing through the Meridian Ocean chasing the turks with the help of Vincent to arrive at the fortress of the ancients, where another moment of the year takes place in the trial, a small section where we essentially make everyone face their worst moments again so that they may be prepared for what comes ahead (special shoutout to Yuffie’s Intermission revisit, it felt crushing in all the right ways),in general things were shaping up great and we were wrapping the most ravishing bow to finish up the gift that was the middle of the VII series, but then suddenly a dog arrived and bit everything, that dog is called the temple of the ancients. That final push started strong with the isolation of Cloud trying to save Aerith from the grim fate she is predestined in the original game and surprisingly succeeding in saving Aerith from fake Sephiroth only for what I can only understand as a convergence of timelines to start happening and switching our Aerith into a different timeline while leaving us with a dead one from another but I will get into that in a second, then everyone is able to arrive and they see the dead Aerith which prompts the start of the bossfight, an interesting detail is that everyone but Cloud starts with their Limit as they are fighting to avenge their dead friend while Cloud still needs to build it up since he is fighting to restore her and prevent Sephiroth from fusing the timeline, in a bizarre way Zack is also there for a bit of the fight until he gets separated into another world again while still being attacked by Sephiroth, what is curious is that for brief moments (synergy attacks in this case) Cloud can join Zack as a sort of projection without entering this dimension fully as well as fighting Sephiroth now in a white void instead of the usual dark one that represents his subconscious even being joined by either the summation of Aerith across all timelines or just our Aerith now aware of her role in all of this to finish the story of Rebirth. At the end we see that everyone Aerith was killed by Sephiroth except for Cloud who is still communicating with her from the other dimension (if he was losing his mind we would have the static and not the rainbow) while everyone else mourns her loss. This leads to the ending cutscene where Cloud and Aerith go their separate ways to finish the story and frankly I kind of hate it, Remake already had a decently open ending that needed some input from the Ultimania (a book about the game that Square Enix releases like a month after the game) to fully get and now it feels like they just doubled down and made the Ultimania a required part of understanding what is going on since everything is just very speculative and borderline impossible to confirm as a thing that actually happened. Maybe it will fix it and an explanation will be available online for people that finished the game to look up but it's still an incredibly scummy way to sell us the Ultimania and a blight in what was otherwise an outstanding game.]
Bringing everything to an end, I really loved this game, despite my issues with some parts of it, it's good to see that like with Remake, VII can carry the franchise while the main series struggles to turn out greatness again. The sheer love that was put into it can be felt all around and the team deserves all the praise they are getting, iIt was a great experience and I can't wait for the final one in a few more years.

Earlier today, my sis and I tried thinking if terrifed teach was an anime, who would be the vas
We came up with:
Justin Cook (Kirishima [BNHA]) for Hijita
Justin Tindle (Karama [AssClass]) for Sano
J. Michael Tatum for Miki
Jonah Scott for Hatanaka
Landon McDonald (Ranpo [BSD]) for Akira (maybe, he was a hard one to pick)
Christopher Sabat (All Might [BNHA]) for The Principal
Kaiji Tang (Gojo [JJK]) for Karasuma
Luci Christian (Uraraka [BNHA]) for Kuniko
and then we got stuck
Tumblr media
asgdsgafgdsf this isnt even putting the cart before the horse anymore this is fully loading the cart and building a stable before the horse
tbh. i dont watch dub anime so idk VAs (but also idk japanese VAs either. VAs just arent a thing i pay attention to in general really) but i have some free time so i guess ill look up some demo reels and give opinions on the ones i have any opinions on
(and find out that all the VAs i do know are from genshin)
Justin Cook (Kirishima [BNHA]) for Hijita
tbh i barely know any of the characters this guy voices. i guess its fine
wait actually. i know EXACTLY who should do hijita. max mittelman. that guy is so good
Austin Tindle (Karma [AssClass]) for Sano
shitttt ur right sano is kinda karma he's just less smug about it
oh what this guy also voiced kaneki i think i actually watched TG in dub back in the day
J. Michael Tatum for Miki
oh shit this is pantalone from genshin hell yeah
Jonah Scott for Hatanaka
JONAH SCOTT FRIEND OF DRAWFEE???
ok jonah cool and all but i have an actual opinion here. corey landis. the guy who voices welt in honkai star rail. i think he would fit hatanaka
Landon McDonald (Ranpo [BSD]) for Akira
too high pitched i think. takahashis voice gotta be low and sexy but also deranged (sanest takahashi liker)
consider: sean durrie (baizhu genshin)
Christopher Sabat (All Might [BNHA]) for The Principal
the characters this guy voices are all so gung ho the principal is more refined i'd like to think. and tired
have u considered. keith silverstein (zhongli genshin) (am i just typecasting yohaji chars to genshin chars at this point? perhaps)
now if i was a deranged person i would suggest the stanley parable narrator. thankfully i am a normal person so i would never say that
Kaiji Tang (Gojo [JJK]) for Karasuma
honestly? u know who would fit ranmaru? ranpos VA. landon mcdonald
Luci Christian (Uraraka [BNHA]) for Kuniko
ok going into this i already had an idea for kuniko. lilypichu. she would fit.
Alejandro Saab for Fuji
ah yes i see this guy on twitter all the time
my first thought was his voice is Too deep but then i heard his performance as miyamura and yeah i guess i can see it
Aaron Dismuke for Ogoso
idk i cant really see it but also idk what kind of voice would suit ogoso
and while we're on the topic of VAs anyway
kaeya's VA would totally fit ebisu
venti's voice but higher would fit mame
since jjk was mentioned: i always thought i could only recognise 1 jp VA (hiroshi kamiya, because araragi). i now know i actually know 2 because i was watching the new jjk and geto talked and i had to do a double take and still cant unhear reigen
the things i would do for amaaki to be voiced by hiroshi kamiya. i can only dream. or seimei but i think seimei is meant to have the same voice as haru. i think?
i have thought long and hard abt what harus eng voice should sound like. idk lol theres no genshin character i can typecast him onto. but i think max mittelman could do it too this man has sold me on him forever with his performance as itto i believe he has the range to do anything
tbh im like the worst person to discuss anime VAs with LOL the types of voicework i like is like. stanley parable narrator. superliminal glenn pierce. the beginners guide davey. getting over it monologue. (....honkai star rail welt)

now I'm curious, what other opinions abt the dub do you have 👀👀👀 me and my friends think karamatsu sounds like markiplier
RAY CHASE BESTIE I AM SO SORRY but no youre rightJKGHFJGH
THIS GOT LONG IM PUTTING A READMORE
i do actually really really like Ray Chase as kara but the way that Nakamura pitches his voice down for him and then when something karamatsu isnt like. prepared for or whatever happens he goes back up into his regular vocal range or sometimes a bit higher really adds to karamatsu's whole. everything HJGKHFJGH LIKE his whole identity pretty much IS performance so even his voice being part of his front is so fun to me, Ray Chase's voice feels so naturally deep and smooth that its like. his voice is Too Cool for kara yknow like his voice being Actually cool? karamatsu fucking wishes JHKGJFGHD BUT i do think he is one of the better choices that the casting directors made compared to the rest of the brothers
(AGAIN NOT SHITTING ON THESE EXTREMELY PROLIFIC AND TALENTED VA'S this is just my opinion of them as the ososan characters)
like i said before i have Absolutely zero qualms with Max Mittelman as Totty literally thats a match made in heaven I think he was perfect for the role n absolutely killed it hes so funny and from what ive seen the writers actually gave him so many good lines big ups for todo likers
Kyle McCarley as Ichimatsu i honestly havent seen much of his performance but god did he put is whole pussy into the one episode where he INSISTS they have to respect each other, hes honestly really really good at maintaining the monotone voice while also conveying a lot of emotion through his voice its pretty impressive that he can do the yellingscreaming while keeping that up, Fukuyama Jun's like. jump from monotone to YEEEAAGHHK when ichimatsu is At His Limit is really really funny so i think that these two are pretty much on par with each other while putting their own spin on how the character . i dont know. expresses himself i guess. poggers :thumbs up emoji i cant use cus im typing on desktop:
in a ranking id prob put Ray's kara here but i already did him so. just. in case u wanted to know this is where he goes to me lmfao hes pretty on par with Kyle's ichimatsu to me tbh
Billy Kametz as Osomatsu honestly worked pretty well osomatsu is the most some guy ever and when u listen its like. a little over the top(obv bc its an anime dub) but its definitely a voice youd hear and go yeah ive probably walked past someone what talks like that, again Great delivery on some lines, he does sound a lot less SillyGoofy #girl... frat bro vibes in there tbh But i mean if he was american i guess he kinda would be huh GHJFGHDF he kinda lost how cheeky he sounds in jp also like there are moments but for the most part :( also the way they wrote him (again i havent seen much but from what i Have seen) he doesnt have the same I Love My Little Brothers energy idk how to describe it they all feel like they hate each other more rghjbhjgh
Sean Chiplock ouygugh im so sorry king but also not it for Choromatsu...... casting directors, voice directors, whoever else is involved in the process, if youre gonna cast around your initial reactions to how the characters are why doesnt he sound like a fuckin nerd!!! i get that hes initally played as a Straight Man but you didnt have to Just Some Dude him make him sound like the loser he is!! even like a little nasally! i also think he sounds a little too much like Billy's Osomatsu, (which again not the va's faults i feel its a voice direction issue) when they talk at the same time its kinda hard to tell em apart which might be on me for not watching enough and getting used to it but... sorrie... no from me
Michael Sinterniklaas i have so much repect for you but.... i already said in that other post, the voice they okayed..... everything he was made to say....... no. thats not jyushimatsu. that fuckin. companion character in some fantasy anime ass voice, his whole deal in the dub is too childish imo and i get why that was their first impression but oough his character suffers so so much for it moreso than any of the others.... they massacred my guy..... and this is absolutely not a dig at Michael, ive seen his other work hes incredibly talented, just everything they got him to do as jyushimatsu makes me take critical damage in real life my hp bar drops so so much
Also i really like Cassandra Lee Morris as Totoko but I feel like she doesnt capture the flip between teehee totoko chwwaaannn and KILL KILL KILL voices that Aya Endou manages, he voice is very cutesy, but i feel like she doesnt sound mad enough when totoko gets pissed WHERE IS YOUR ANGER? YOUR RAGE??? RISE RISE RISE RISE RI
also also Keith Silverstein as iyami is honestly really good i didnt really know what to expect but i feel like hes p spot on, idk how iyami-likers feel abt him though lol ask telly or sth HJGHJ
SORRY this got long but i probably was never gonna be happy with the dub, im not gonna get too much into the writing in the localisation but ough. it is Just a comedy show to the dub writers and i can respect that, but the show means a lot to people Because of the characters and how they clearly run deeper than they appear thats a huge part of the appeal for ososan imo and i feel like a lot was lost in the translation. But! it can be pretty funny sometimes and thats all it rlly needs to be, funny haha penis anime
im gonna try and give the dub another shot, ill do me best to grit n bear through it GHJFG

Sorry to come in here but since I love dub directions, as a hypothetical question, who was your dream cast for each? I just love thinking of all the possibilities and scenarios of HOPEFULLY which company can sponsor in the future the whole 200
omg hi anon! i'm going to mostly skip the characters that i liked the official dub voices of if that's alright, and list out the ones i haven't heard in the previews yet or don't remember ^^ also sorry if the explanations are lackluster, i've been looking up so many videos to see ranges of va's i'm writing down and spent hours trying to decide! let me know if you want more characters, and which ones in particular if you do
reborn: i actually don't mind veronica taylor's take on him too much, but something about it just sounds off to me idk, but i can't think of another va except for christina vee to pull off reborn
tsuna: erica mendez's nagisa shingestu from udg would be a great voice for tsuna
yamamoto: johnny yong bosch, i've seen people put him as mukuro which honestly i think would be great too, but takeshi's vibe fits more in my mind
gokudera: eric vale with his voice for sanji one piece, he sounds enough like a nerd and still be angry
ryohei: kaiji tang, there's not a specific voice to pinpoint but i believe he could do a very energetic but still slightly older sounding big brother
hibari: might be a strange pick but cody christian's cloud strife, kyoya has a very smooth voice and i can definitely imagine hearing an "i'll bite you to death"
mukuro: robbie daymond, his range with goro akechi alone (though that vocal performance is extremely impressive) is so fitting for mukuro
chrome: valeria rodriguez using her voice of sucrose from genshin OR suzie yeung's fuuka from persona 3 reload
bianchi: allegra clark, specifically her performance as boss from ai the somnium files
haru: monica rial, watch ouran's dub renge is literally her
dino: max mittelman with his voice as atsushi from bsd, with a hint of ryuji from persona 5
byakuran: daman mills' lyney from genshin but more sinister would fit marshmallow man so well
this was really fun to do actually, thank you for the ask!
