Group 2 (Black Knight, Valkyrie, Moondragon, Beast and Doctor Strange): The strange quartet that is The Black Knight, Valkryie, Moondragon and Beast end up lost on a strange world of Dwarfs. They have to help save the foolish dwarfs from themselves, as they've accidentally unleashed an ancient monster buried in the mine. And in order to get to Doctor Strange and get through this strange world of the dream demon's creation, they must stop this monstrous creature from snuffing out the holy flame of the dwarfs forge.

Shortly after they've managed to save the dwarven kingdom, they're granted an audience with the king of the dwarfs. For their valor, he grants our four heroes medals proclaiming them saviors of all dwarfkind. and in exchange for their valorous deeds, he shall grant them safe passage to the surface world. They shall be accompanied by the finest dwarf warriors, who will guard them on their way.

Inevitably, this leads to catastrophe when an invading force ambushes our quartet and their dwarven guard on their way to the surface. Thankfully, almost everyone survives. But sadly, there were a few casualties on the dwarfs side. So our four heroes tell the remaining dwarfs to turn back and bring their dead back to their kingdom, so they can have a proper burial.

Now free of the underground tunnels of the dwarves, our group heads for the kingdom they see in the distance. When they arrive, they come to find that the kingdom was already waiting for them. The ruler of this kingdom is an all powerful dark sorcerer, who wants to break free of his realm and come to earth so he can conquer it. he's already captured Doctor Strange, imprisoning him in a magic proof tower. He'd previously been trying to trick Doctor Strange into giving him the info he needs to escape from this realm, but Doctor Strange was too strong willed and wouldn't spill a thing.

So now our evil sorcerer has a bold plan: he sends our four heroes to the dungeons, to await his punishment. And that punishment is quite simple: he's going to drain them all of their essence and lives, then use this essence to sneak himself onto earth. The only way to stop him is to find another sorcerer capable of defeating him, so The Black Knight and Valkyrie lead a jailbreak to try and reach Doctor Strange's tower. Moondragon and Beast are meant to serve as the distractions, holding up all the guards while the other two escape.

Valkyrie and The Black Knight do escape, and they even manage to free Doctor Strange. But worse news: Moondragon and Beast were recaptured and sent to be punished by the sorcerer. Since Moondragon was seen as more powerful, this sinister sorcerer of a king decides to attack Beast first. He begins draining Beast of his essence, erasing the years of time on his being, when suddenly Doctor Strange breaks in! And the combined magic powers of Doctor Strange and Moondragon manage to defeat him! With his defeat, the kingdom is saved! And on that note, our five heroes are now free of the demon's curse, and they reawaken in Man-Thing's Swamp.

Just one new problem, however: Beast. Although the spell of the sorcerer didn't manage to kill him, it has messed with his physiology. Now he's pure flesh and blood again, no hair at all. Well, most of the time. Now his two different genetic strands are fighting for dominance, leading to him randomly changing from his furred apperance to his non-furred apperance at random times. It's a new complication that leads Hank McCoy to ask himself: which form would he prefer? Does he want to stay furry and bestial? Or does he want to go back to his more human apperance now, after all these years? It's a conundrum that will lead to an extensive story arc for him if this series continues.

Did I watch Thor: Love and Thunder? Yes, yes I did

Is the scene where Valkyrie kisses a random girl’s hand the only thing in my mind now? Yes, yes it is

One thing I absolutely love about 616 Jane Foster's journey is that it's one giant fuck you to Odin.

Jane really said, 'Oh you don't want to turn me into an Asgardian so your son and I can get married? Well fuck you not only am I gonna take over your son's position, but I'm also gonna temporarily take over your position, and then become the only grim reaper that can supply your dead army with soilders.'

Like go off queen. One way or another she's becoming an Asgardian.

Yeah, I mean Valkyrie's not a bad character but they did completely brush pass she would have been part of brutal conquerors. And she is not so much feels guilty for that as she's sad her fellows and girlfriend died

But also imagine what the Valkyries themselves must of thought. You spend years in service of Odin taken and conquering only for one day him go, okay we're done with that, also you guys kill the princess now

Right? That's why I would love a Disney+ series about Asgard and the Valkyries, something that would be brutal and tell the story as it was and bring to light how much death and pain Odin, Hela and their warriors brought to at least 8 realms.

One can only assume that if Hela had been indoctrinated and raised as a conqueror, the Valkyries must have been brainwashed just as much. Val does say at one point in Ragnarok that she "believed in the throne" at the time and I bet her sisters did as well. To wake up one morning and have Odin tell them "oh what we were doing was wrong, let's call ourselves their protectors and stop conquering" would be mind blogging, and I can imagine them taking sides, even agreeing with Hela instead of Odin.

Val is a great character (I'm not objective lol), the main problem is she's part of a franchise that was retconned and puts more emphasis in being funny than actual characterization and world building. If only she was handled by Gunn...
