Today's project was cleaning out this garden bed and replanting it. The whole thing was thickly weeded over and all that greenery went to the goats. Because they think it's yummy. I then put in two volunteer tomato plants that I pulled out of another bed and two replacement zucchini plants that I had to buy because something chewed through my seedlings at root level. Hopefully they will take off and I'll get a decent crop this year but if I don't at least I tried. Now I need to go and get cleaned up and ready for work. Enjoy this beautiful sunny day my friends. #oldhousethings ✨ Our bedroom used to be a sun porch. We are fairly sure. 3/4ths of the room is bead board (no other room is), pretty sure there’s no insulation, and there is a window leading to another bedroom in the house. We patched over the window on one side. But it would be far too complicated to take out the old window on the other side - in our bedroom. So I went with it. I hung my favorite decorative thing - twinkle lights - in the window frame and covered it with a gauzy floor length curtain. Not perfect. But the light is nice! Hopefully whenever we sell, someone else will think so too. ✨ When it comes to flipping houses, you can’t get everything as perfect as you’d like. Especially in my case - I’m a perfectionist. But you can make things better than they were! Spring spilling out all over! It is funny how so many who have been captivated by this gathering of seasonal bliss blooming branches have said "I have that bush" or "I never thought about making an arrangement from my shrub. I just cut it back after it finishes blooming." Just look at the beauty that could have been enjoyed inside as well as outside. Consider using a recycled container to showcase what's blooming outside - inside. Also consider bringing those blooms up close and personal when entertaining. Spring blooming bushes add value to life as the world begins to awaken with the fresh colors of Spring. Allow the gifts of the season to spill out of vases, old containers, a old purse, or even an old pair of shoes. I'm knitting a jacket for Banjo even though he mostly prefers to be unclothed, regardless of whether the temperature is 40F or 40C...I saw a similar adult size one somewhere and am making it up as I go. There'll be a seam from shoulder to sleeve hem, which I haven't got to yet...And today I finished grouting the hearth - only took me a year or two. The tiles were thrifted from two different oppies at different times and waited a long time for me to decide what to do with them. Banjo's jacket is all thrifted yarn, too.
