Was browsing 12 inch GI Joes on ebay, and I found one of the off brand GI Joes I had as a kid. His articulation was ok, though he felt kinda cheap. I was always annoyed at his molded on shirt, as it lookced bad, hindered his articulation, and later on made it hard for him to wear barbie dresses. He did wear skits though, and shared his pants with barbie. He was one of the figures I had that vanished with my mother's old barbies so I don't have him anymore.

Hey love your blog, fakies are really cool if not sometimes a bit creepy/weird. I found this online and can't pin her origin down or anything. I believe she is a lanard pony but not sure. Sorry I only have the one picture.
Hope you're well 😊💖
Tumblr media
Yes indeed, she looks like a vintage Lanard pony! Lanard still makes ponies but their new ones are in a different style. (More cartoony eyes.) The classic Lanards have painted hooves, with one being a different color than the rest. :)

Kaiju Week in Review (April 2-8, 2023)
youtube
Tsuburaya's Big International Push™ for the Ultra Series has been missing one huge element for a while—English dubs for the new shows. These are supposed to be for kids, right? Well, they're finally correcting that with Ultraman Z. This is the only New Generation show I've actually finished since R/B, so I'm pretty thrilled, and it's extremely well-done to boot. OkraTron 5000, the same Dallas-based studio that handled Shin Ultraman, is behind it (and they got Sean Schemmel, Goku himself, as Ultraman Zero). I'm not sure of the exact pace at which they'll be releasing these, but episode 2 is already out as well.
youtube
Some rare Godzilla video game news that isn't a Battle Line update or a mobile game collaboration: Zen Studios' Pinball FX will be releasing a trio of Godzilla vs. Kong-inspired digital pinball tables. So a console game collaboration... still an upgrade! (And believe it or not, this is the first game either MUTO has appeared in since that Candy Crush clone back in 2014.) The trial starts April 13.
youtube
After only uploading Godzilla Island episodes for a few weeks, Toho's English Godzilla YouTube channel is branching out again with subtitled episodes of Chibi Godzilla Raids Again. It starts... well, April 11, which is why I'm scrambling to get this post out. Since the show is so new (and not a web exclusive), there might be a quick hook on these, so be sure to download them; the TOHO animation channel has already removed the first episode.
Tumblr media
After limiting itself to figures of MonsterVerse kaiju who have already been covered by S.H. MonsterArts, Hiya Toys is innovating with a Skullcrawler figure, now in the prototype stage. This is only the third articulated figure of the character, and should easily trounce the Lanard and Playmates versions. Note the elbow spikes: it's either the Skull Devil from Kong: Skull Island or Number 10 from Godzilla vs. Kong.

HEY SO apparently I never posted (or forgot I posted?) my Lanard Xenomorph collection here. But had something fun happen two weekends ago sO.
The green warrior and bronze runner were gifts from @sonohtigris and @abarateal respectively. I’ve had the giant purple queen for a while after I immediately fell in love with it on a Walmart run. Lanard sells toys exclusively through Walmart, which means they’re always fairly cheap but become an absolute bitch to find once they go out of stores. Their Jurassic Clash and Star Troopers original lines are moderately pricey on ebay for Walmart toys. I picked the white drone up from ebay myself! (along with a nice Dante from Dante’s Inferno (2010) Xbox 360 action figure)
These are the 6in 1:12 scale ones, they also have a smaller 1:18 range (think like... old GI Joes/small Star Wars figures) that comes with guys and vehicles. I don’t have any but I do know that there’s a MUSTARD YELLOW XENOMORPH which fills me with deep, deep delight.
I love them, honestly more that any of the realistic xenomorph action figures I’ve seen. The sculpt is good, there’s so much texture and a few nice differences between the figures (the hands, head, and forearms of the drone and warrior are different). And god bless but the colors are so so much fun. Since they’re proper toys they’re beefier and sturdier than smaller figures and I don’t feel nervous posing them. Just good toys tbh.
Anyway, two weeks ago I needed to kill time during my work trip so I swung by Walmart to buy a new bathing suit and you will not believe who I found!
Tumblr media
It wasn’t even seven dollars... IT WAS FOUR.
Absolutely bought it. I had waffled on which drone to get from ebay and settled for the white, but god damn do I love the.... idk what to call this. Neon red? Neon red drone. Atrocious. 10/10
That means I own the full second set! First set has realistically colored facehuggers (with the white drone), second set has GITD (glow in the dark). The first set warrior is blue. Boring. Don’t need it. And the runner is like... A slightly uglier metallic, the bronze is superior.
Anyway. Really happy about that.
I just need to pull the trigger on some old 2018 Jurassic Clash dino rider toys and I’ll basically be set for my Lanard collection, unless I want to bite on a Star Troopers set because the bugs are really cool.

So I’ve been on a bit of an My Little Pony kick since I’ve been watching a few of youtuber Shunks’s MLP iceberg videos (which I highly recommend you check out if your an MLP fan btw) and somthing that struck me today is how there really aren’t any other examples of dedicated toy lines that fit into the “horse doll” niche My Little Pony fills.
I know that feels like a weird to say, but... i dont know. When I started researching it I assumed MLP had to have some competition in this market. Like, just look at the fashion doll world, for instance; Barbie came onto the scene in the 50s, essentially creating the fashion doll toy nice as we it today and now there are many individual brands like Bratz, Monster High, LOL OMG, Disney Princesses etc etc that have taken inspiration form Barbie yet still have their own identity, providing competition and maintains the fashion doll su genre of toys.
Meanwhile MLP just... doesn’t have that.
I mean sure there were a few toy lines that tried to replicate their style and success, like those “fakies” like the Lanard ponies, those Cabbage Patch Kids ponies, and those Bratz Ponyz etc. Plus you do see those funny dollar store knock offs from time to time. But for the most part, especially in the modern day, My Little Pony doesn’t have any other competition in the Horse Doll niche like you see Barbie has in the fashion doll niche.
Granted, there are a few good reasons for this; conceptually, I guess designers find it easier to think of possible themes for a n 11” female figure to explore, eith a horse, even a cute stylised one, I feel like they’d have more limited options when crafting a theme, backstory characters etc. (Though, i dont know if that’s entirely true. I’d say that the horse dolls we know, I.e. mlp, have only really fallen into the thematic category of “pet toy”, fantasy or slice of life play sets, but that’s for another post...)
the second bigger reason I think is that the competitors in the past I mentioned earlier borrowed to much from MLP and its style. The candy coloured coats and manes of the horses, the rump symbols, the posed bodies etc, they were basically identical to MLP without doing much to innovate or actually carve out an identity of their own. There was also the fact that these Pony or horse centric toys were spin offs or side lines to other more popular non-horse centric dolls (Ponyz and the Cabbage Patch Ponies being good examples) which meant they were often just used as accessories to capitalise off MLP’s success.
So yeah, long story short, I’m surprised to learn how few actual examples there are in the “horse doll” sub-genre of toys...

2023 Wishlist From Other Toy Lines
Here are a selection of items from other toy lines that I want to get to integrate with my Joes. There's stuff here from Jazwares Fortnite series, Lanard's the Corps,
Tumblr media
Up first is the oldest items on this list. The first set of bad guys from Lanard's Corp line, the Marauders. Ravage, Plague, & Vulture (there was a fourth member, Road Rash, but I already have him). Ravage & Vulture were released in both multipacks but Plague was replaced by Road Rash and is harder to come across.
Tumblr media
Originally a singular character due to his abundance he was written into the Corps cannon lore as being a series of clones made by the Curse, based off the original character. So yes I want multiples of Shrapnel.
Tumblr media
This helicopter from Fortnite works great with any group, so time to get the Choppa.
Tumblr media
Who wouldn't want to have a truck, so here's the Fortnite Bear.
Tumblr media
A four pack of vehicles for around $20, yes please. The Corps Combat Strike Battle Set.
Tumblr media
Yes more VAMPs, this time from India's Funskool. There is also a Police one.
Tumblr media
I'm always looking for more medics for my Joes and so I want to grab a Fortnite Triage Trooper.
Tumblr media
One of the allies of the Joes from the cartoon (Honda Lou) owns a trucking company and the Mudflap will be the best choice for her.
Tumblr media
Though his figure is not out yet, I will gladly pick Whispering Willie up as soon as I find him.
Tumblr media
The final issues of the Devil's Due run introduced Athena, the Baroness' family's private army. I plan on using these two Fortnite figures as that army, the Elite & Rogue Agent. I don't large army build but I am wanting at least 2 of each of them.
Other items include the Final Faction Elite Arrow ATV & Accessory sets
Tumblr media
and Fresh Monkey Press & Zica's Eagle Force figures.

Colonial Marines VS Aliens
Xenomorph Swarm
by Lanard Toys
For the month of October I’ll be posting everything I can relating to monsters, and other frightening beasts.
I’ll be posting things outside of my usual order
Okay for starters let’s begin with one of SciFi’s most iconic horrors, the Xenomorph form Alien.
This Alien toyset is part of a larger scheme to bring back a lot of the retro franchises in toy form (I mean why not, it’s already more appealing than many of the new movies), and I’m pretty sure these Aline figures are made by the same toy company as ‘Elite Corps’ toyline I did a few reviews of a back in 2016; Lanard Toys. LINKS BELOW!
https://jimclassicstoycollection.tumblr.com/post/135005691878/the-corps-elite-vs-the-curse-this-three-pack-i
https://jimclassicstoycollection.tumblr.com/post/155950307542/the-corps-elite-i-bought-this-for-like-6-at
I’m going to start with the box here, and I don’t give them all that much attention; but today I feel like I have to.
This is a very attention grabbing box.
The set in total comes with a Space marine (naturally), and Xenomorph (duh), a gun for the space marine, a xenomorph egg, and a face hugger. Okay; not bad for $10 I suppose.
I’ll start with the Colonial Marine….he’s trash. He is literally a re-purpose of the Elite Corps toys. I mean, I SUPPOSE by itself it’s an okay figure (below G.I. Joe standards) but ‘army build’ worthy, I suppose. Just keep them in the back ground behind your actual G.I. Joe figures.
But it’s the Xenomorph which really takes the spotlight here!!!
