For how much Machete is described by others as off-putting, he really is a beautiful dog. Does Vasco ever tell him so? That his eyes make him look earnest, his fur the most comforting shade of white like cream, the way his ears catch light like stained glass? If someone doesn't tell him so, he'd forever think he was ugliest duckling
I think Vasco definitely tries, sincerely and often, but Machete is very reluctant to accept compliments and positive feedback. Especially if it's about something as personal and innate as his looks.
#he quietly spends a lot of time and effort trying to make himself look his best so appearances aren't a trivial thing for him#he's always very clean and neat and presentable#except on those occasions when he's soaked in blood but that's totally besides the point#white fur is kind of high maintenance any tiny bit of dirt or staining becomes an eyesore and if it dries it may be hard to remove#he bathes very frequently way more than average considering the time period#some of the outfits he wears are worth more than the combined lifetime earnings of like six generations of his family#silk was outrageously expensive and the brightest red dye came from pulverized cochineal insects that had to be imported from America#which had been colonized less than a century ago so those tiny little cactus bugs were really troublesome to get and the demand was huge#he doesn't quite have the nerve to wear perfume despite it's widespread popularity at the time#but he makes sure the smell of frankincense burned during church services sticks to his fur and clothes#in general when you spend your entire life around strict emotionally congested highly religious men#you might not end up developing a very healthy self-esteem or body image#once you've internalized that sense of inferiority it's hard to unlearn it#he's so thirsty for approval and praise but when he receives some he immediately gets uncomfortable and distrustful and vaguely angry#he absolutely struggles to compliment people back as well at least on any meaningful and personal level so there's that#answered#anonymous#Machete

I've tried to run BG2 again (I need to finish my modded playthrough) and my laptop is in such a bad state it prectically lags BG2. BG2, which could be run on a determined microwave, on a laptop that has 8GB of RAM! It is heavily used and it has a lot of apps, but I've uninstalled everything I didn't use and cleaned the registry awhile ago. I suspected the antivirus, but the system manager shows it actually doesn't consume a lot of resources. It's not the disk space, since it's got plenty. It turns out it uses 100% of its disk all the time, and the main culprits seems to be.... *drum roll* system and Windows telemetry service! I now have to spend the evening elbows deep in frankly confusing system settings to find a way to turn the telemetry service off, and it may or may not improve the situation.
Once I finish this playthough, I'm definitely switching the laptop to Unix.
#personal#you know I'm annoyed by the number of completely useless apps win10 runs in the background#I don't need 5 processes of edge I really don't!#I don't need windows game overlay#or a separate service to launch office in one-click#also kudos to the designers for splitying settings into 3 different apps!#I've disabled animations and everything and it didn't improve things at all unfortunately#I don't want to reinstall the system just yet bc mods are easily messed up during reinstalls#but I bet. that this dying laptop will suddenly run like gold on unix#my old work pc did and it was two times weaker than this one in every possible aspect#thankfully I have a better computer now but it still annoys me to have a laptop I just can't use bc it effectively boots for 15 minutes#and lags afterwards#I don't know if it's planned obsolence or something#but I put a lot of energy in the maintenance of this laptop and I'm losing patience#if it is planned obsolence#then... well. I'm not going to buy a newer presumably more resource intensive system#for a laptop that wheezes in effort under an older one#oh no#If they make their product unusable I'll just cease to use it#I've got another pc on windows anyway

he's yana's favorite but japan really loves twst's literal bank. aka the octavinelle trio. these three took business into a whole new level and became twst's main income dorm 😭😭😭 i remember back then when azul's dorm card was released and was the highest sale they've ever gotten. then when the union birthdays of the twins came (hence having 4 banners featuring their birthday cards), they broke twst's systems because of how many people are pulling and paying for their cards.
i wouldn't say he's not popular but the octa trio still overpowers malleus. even ace and deuce overpowers mal since he's so hidden in terms of lore and appearance. just wait till chapter 7 drops and japanese fan artists are speedrunning fanart already.

so.
to clear up space/get some funds/cover my increasingly insane bills, i've put up a few things to sell on eBay and also obtained a thermal printer so that I can, among other things, figure out how to sell and ship shit out especially when it comes time to open up the pop-up shop. well I already fucked up with 1) eBay's TOS (one of my listings got flagged and I watched enough law/makeup drama youtubes to know what went wrong), and 2) printing shipping labels with my new thermal printer. wasted a bunch of labels to find out I had to select a label size option that I didn't even fucking know was there so now I'm stuck with a PDF in the absolute wrong size and a regular ol' printer with no ink. man i hope the other listing gets sold soon so that I can do a proper shipping label print test.
