A genuine question out of genuine curiosity for my American peeps.

You guys have Republicans and Democrats, but do you have third/minor party?

I’m from the UK, which has similar two-party system between Tories and Labour, but we’ve had a few third party’s gather significant votes in the past like Lib Dem’s or Green Party or the SNP. They don’t really go anywhere because the two major parties usually steal back the spotlight, but when they get a lot of votes in elections, they do cause a stir - bloody UKIP got us into the whole Brexit mess when they got the spotlight.

So, for Americans, how does it work? I genuinely want to know.

Delighted by my morning errand! My nana has… some hoarding issues. A year or so ago my mom and I tried to go in and help her clear stuff out. I was listing piles of stuff for sale for her, she made a ton of cash off it.

But my mom was so rude and judgemental during the process that my nana called it off and told us to stop coming. Most of the stuff we excavated from her garage is still sitting out in her carport.

One of the pieces that didn’t sell was this absolutely stunning old Singer sewing machine. It came in its own table and was in absolutely pristine condition. The machine itself is black with gold accents, really sleek and beautiful.

I mentioned it offhandedly during a one shot to a friend and he asked if I had pictures. I did, and when I showed him he asked what I listed it for.

I shrugged, “I asked 200 for it. It’s in great condition and besides being an antique those things never break. All the same machines on eBay were going for $400-500. But it was too pricey I guess.”

There was a little break in conversation and I saw the wheels turning in his head. “Do you want it?”

“200?”

“My nana will be thrilled, let me set up a pickup.”

So today we met there and he looked it over. It’s just as pretty as I remembered and when we plugged it in it hummed happily along. He was glowing with delight and my nana was thrilled to be making some cash.

I hope he adores it, but I’m mostly just happy it’s going on to be used rather than sitting unloved in her mountains of tchotchkes.

Best thing about Steeplechase is watching Justin slowly go mad with power. Turning point was in the Gutter City arc when he realized he can just say anything and make it canon. Yeah you have to bring your own dough to the bakery!! Fuck you!!! Historically the dynamic on this show has been the players do goofs and the GM frantically tries to move the plot forward so it's really funny to see the opposite. Justin said YOU'RE trapped in here with ME and proceeded to invent the Rust Miner and Shlabethany. The nervous first time GM from the early episodes was never seen again. He has free reign to torment his beloved family and no one can stop him! It's an education in the worst possible times to play the saxophone!

while I'm here, i will post my beloved magpie! I've gotten to play her for a long while now, going on nearly 2 years i think! some rambling under the cut bc i like her u_u ♡

magpie's a rogue/archfey warlock whose patron is a noble of the winter court called "the lady of fallen snow." it's a tiny bit funny- her favorite seasons were always spring and summer. though, the stinging cold doesn't seem to bother her as much lately. maybe winter's been growing on her.

she used to like to collect little trinkets and odds n ends, but lately she's been a bit busy with the ramifications of their party's actions and whatnot.

another thing she used to be was silly and reckless, more concerned broadly with having fun than things like rules or consequences. one of her guiding philosophies used to be that there wasn't any sort of trouble she couldn't get herself out of. that was easy enough to say when she was the only one affected by her troublemaking. not so much when she has friends she cares about and their blinding optimism has landed them in mortal danger more than a few times.

being responsible and practical isn't necessarily her strong suit, but she's been giving it her most honest try.

I kept thinking about how Forever would react to seeing Martyn, but I feel we all expect him to react a certain way, so instead my interest shifted to another thing: how would Martyn react to Forever.

You know, Martyn is a lot emotionally smarter than most people Forever has shown any interest in.

Bad, Phil, and Brunim tend to wear a mask about their feelings and show their emotions in weird ways, and Max just doesn't tell you how he feels. Martyn may joke a lot about his own feelings and kind of hides them but never to the extent that the other 4 do, and, more importantly, can see the emotions of others and act accordingly.

Although, most importantly, he is not auto-destructive like them. Bad and Max are super auto-destructive if you are aware of their lore, but Philza and Brunim are quite bad too. Brunim is willing to die if it helps to prove a point and Philza is more of the sacrificial type, which is not great, thank god he is good at surviving otherwise he would have died who knows how many times.

Martyn is more "sure, why not" but can draw a line and say "That's a bit too much". So, of course, he would say "yes" if Forever asked him out, but could tell he was just a replacement just by Forever talking. He would probably think that Phil is the ex, not Brunim, unless Forever straight-up says his name.

But, of course, he is not immune. He recognizes why he actually accepted Forever's idea. He can recognize it on Forever because he may or may not be doing the same but at the end of the day. Forever is Forever. Martyn is Martyn. They cannot be replaced.

i like to think that if any of the demons were to have kids (biologically, not emotionally), the kids' symbolic animal would be similar to their dads. ex, fly papa beel and his butterfly kid or peacock dad lucifer with his hummingbird child

Not to ignorantly deny all of the big bad things in the world, but to survive them.

I feel like warrior cats ( + fan works and other cat-centric media ) should show zoomies a lot more. Like The deputy and senior warriors setting up patrols when a young warrior dashed right past them, and they joke about whether they could have an advantage with hunting in that state. Or LeafPool noticing that JayFeather looks a bit fidgety and tells him to go outside. He huffs before complying and a few seconds later she hears him zooming around the woods outside the medicine den.
