if ya'll want to play a cute wizard/witch game but without the added transphobia and antisemitism, then please look no further than Calico on Switch. its a cute magical girl esque sim game where you can fully customise your character, furnish and decorate your own cat café, play mini games when making recipes, complete tasks for NPCs. By the way, nearly all the NPCs are some flavour of queer-trans, enby, gay, lesbian etc. you also get to collect animal friends and even ride on some to get around the map.

this is actually my comfort game. it doesn't demand much from you and its very relaxing and fun to play. it has an amazing and cute soundtrack and honestly, i could not recommend it enough.

I’m working on the prototype stage

Right now I just want enemies to spawn from the right, they’ll damage the player via touch. The blue button will be the magic button so all enemies on the screen will receive damage slowly, but the green button requires the enemies to be closer but the player will deal a ton of damage but only to a single enemy at a time. switching between green and blue styles of attack should be delayed and both types of attack should level up over use. Today i’m gonna both work on some more concept art, and also see if I can get enemies spawning in, walking/stopping, attacking, and despawning. And see if I can get the button to deal damage to enemies on the screen. --  I also have to do some resarch on magical girl creation, and writing. Hopefully by the time I have the basic prototype mechanics more fleshed out i’ll have a more abstract idea of how i want to impliment story elements to encourage the player or keep them engaged.

Lucie Viatge, the character designer of Goodbye Volcano High, recently revealed more concept art for the game, including of the in-universe Magical Girl show "Pretty Heroes" (link in source):

There is also a Magical Girl show in the game, called Pretty Heroes. I designed all the characters! I'm a big magical girl enthusiast, with my favorites being MS Madoka Magica, Cardcaptor Sakura and several Precure seasons (ofc I also like Sailor Moon and many others).

Unless I missed something, I'm pretty sure Pretty Heroes is mostly just mentioned and maybe some poster or merch is shown here and there a couple of times in the entire game, so it was a big surprise learning that there was so much thought put into it. Edit: turns out there IS a scene with them I completely missed, beware spoilers.
