On June 22, the Magadan City Court arrested a local resident Alexander Semisynov for four days because of the slogan “Glory to Ukraine, glory to the heroes” on his profile picture in a telegram. The ruling is available on the court's website.
According to the police, Semisynov posted two avatars on Telegram. The first one shows the Ukrainian flag with the inscription “GLORY TO UKRAINE”, the second one shows a bust of Stepan Bandera with the inscriptions “GLORY TO UKRAINE, GLORY TO THE HEROES” and “Our father - Bandera, Ukraine - mother Mi for Ukraine we will fight!”. Below the bust, the dates of Bandera's birth and death are also signed.
The court considered the slogans to be a greeting to the UPA and "Ukrainian nationalists". Semisynov during the meeting objected to this that he did not consider the slogan nationalistic, it is freely used on the territory of Ukraine and other states as a greeting.
