I feel like a lot of MadoMagi copycats miss that MadoMagi doesn't really hold any malice towards the magical girl genre at all and if anything embraces it fully, it just takes its concepts and interprets it in a darker sense. A lot of media that tries to replicate misses that and just go "Pfft magical girls are so stupid and childish, we should make a show where they all die, and are miserable and depressed, and it's dark and edgy for the sake of being edgy."

You guys I was at the grocery store with my roommate and the self checkout was rebelling against us so she tried to get an employee's attention and the girl went "what is it baby?" and oh my god. I don't see much positivity for people with missing teeth, especially if they are younger like in 20's

So here's to you, you arent forever ruined, you arent a failure for missing teeth, it doesn't mean people can't find you attractive, and it especially doesn't show weight on your morality.

Some people are more likely to get cavities, some people get injured, some people didn't have the proper resources, some people didn't have the energy or executive function to be consistent, etc. And it doesn't matter the reason. You aren't bad or less lovable or anything else that was pushed upon you.

Do you think Claire deserves to cuss Carmy out in season 3 ?? i see a lot of people talking about it but I dont know how to feel lol

see here's my thing:

i think claire does deserve at least some closure from carmy but honestly, in my mind, she isnt a victim in anyway. her cursing him out, while it may be satisfactory, just doesn't make much sense to me. yes, she was hurt by what he said in the freezer. yes, their relationship ended on a sour note.

but are we gonna forget he was trapped inside a freezer with no way of getting out or seeing who was behind the door when he was expressing his feelings?? or how carmy gave her the wrong phone number on purpose? claire left after ending their relationship herself. carmy, while yes he was being an asshole, had a lot on his plate that night because it was a soft open of his restaraunt.

i don't think she should be the one to curse out carmy. if they do give that to someone, it should go to one of the bear staff, maybe syd or nat. they were let down more times then claire was, and truth be told they deserve to be hurt a lot more. carmy didnt call the fridge guy, getting himself locked in there during their busiest night. carm was barely there to help with the restaraunt. carmy ditched syd for their testing other restaraunts date.

tldr; i really dont see claire getting to be the one to curse carmy out (if it even happens) logical. it should be someone from the bear.

no prompt attached so im turning this into a headcanons post tyty.

FUN FACT, abyss monarch was actually designed with eldritch horror vibes in mind, that was stated by some of the designers who worked on them :3

they have eyes all over their body, not just on their chest. they have extra eyes on their face, down their arms, a bunch on each tentacle, and more on their chest, they just keep them closed most of the time because that's So Much Vision

i like to imagine they have some passive powers from the darkness of the Sea Fairy Tear that they dont really think about using, they just Do.

like sensing stuff in the darkness. they can sense where life is without having to actually look at it

they can change their coloring, they just prefer black because it helps them blend into the darkness of the abyss

shadowmancy is another favorite of mine to give them!!! they can use the shadows as physical things the way they use their tentacles. this came with them absorbing the darkness of the Tear/Sacred Pearl, but their control over the magic is something they were taught and used in Sugarteara before they became abyss monarch

also on the lines of shadowmancy, they can use the shadows to travel around as they please. they sort of melt in and out of the darkness.

theyre VERY flexible. they can contort their body to the EXTREME. (this is actually something they could do before they became abyss monarch, but they had a reputation to uphold then, so...) they like to do it as abyss monarch, it's like stimming to them. not uncommon to find them contorted around themself just for fun

very good balance. you can't knock them over. they can also walk backwards as easily as they walk forwards

they have 100% eaten other people before. not that they go out of their way to do that, but when they black out... the abyss is Hungry.

their blood is black.

their mouth is a horror show. they have a beak the way all octopodes do, but they also have sharp teeth and their tongue is abnormally long. they can also unhinge their beak and open their mouth far larger than they have any right to.

the way gem slowly became less “human”, showing less mercy as time went on, calling scott smajor and turning on him immediately after turning red even though she spared him at the beginning, her leadership over the boogies and the way she controlled them, she was TERRIFYING

the world slowing falling to chaos as people realized what was happening, the fear and betrayal setting in as more fall to the curse, and yet some alliances stayed true despite everything

now we just wait to see how this impacts the end of the season

Gamefreak has been writing legendary Pokémon phenomenally lately, Pokémon like Calyrex and Ogerpon truly feel like friends and companions, like I've not seen a single person ever dislike those two because the game makes them so likable and gives them so much personality and really makes you bond with them so it's genuinely a treat when you get to catch them! And it doesn't feel as impersonal as "Oh let me catch this all powerful god so it doesn't destroy the region." I think it really exemplifies the fact Pokémon are FRIENDS, and Ogerpon and Koraidon/Miraidon also prove that Calyrex didn't work just because it could talk, they all work because how they're woven into the narrative and the protagonist by extension. So catching them (or being able to use them in battle with the SV box legends) feels like proof of your bond with said Pokémon.

So before I say this, note I am a disabled transfeminine individual thats not an mra. Say that now cause people like to caricature for those that go against them.

I've seen a growing number of people say men can't face specific struggles or discrimination with being a man as a factor. Or transman can't face specific struggles. Or there struggles are fine or should be downplayed. Or transmen aren't allowed a specific word for the oppression they face.

So discrimination unique to men or masculine individuals and how might impact transmen

Mental health: many men are discouraged from getting mental health for problems they face, this has been a problem the mental health field has known for decades. Many transmen as they transition are pressured more and more to "toughen up" while dealing with possible therapists transphobia

Sexual assault victims: if you count forced to penetrate, coerced, told have to cause married. Then its around the same for men and women

The thing is, there is an assumption that men can't be raped, or should be taken more lightly, or in the case of brittain with forced to penetrate a much lighter sentence on the perpetrator.

This makes it so even if a crisis center you want to go to says for all. You might not get any help cause a man.

For transmen,a unique position, do they go in as a man and get denied for that, or trans and possible transphobia.

"Men are all violent" is a stereotype, but the reverse, men are more likely to be the victim of violence. Infact of murder victims, more then 3 men for every 1 woman.

But going back to the stereotype. It's the reason that white woman are more likely to cross street to avoid a black man then a black woman.

It's the reason a mentally ill homeless woman seems to get more sympathy and money then a mentally ill homeless man...who is also more likely assumed to just be a drug addict

It's the reason for shot to death by police in u.s. is nearly 20 to 1 for men vs women (no statistic anywhere says men are that much more likely to be violent)

And there are a bunch of other problems unique to men ive seen that i didnt list in detail (like men victims of domestic violence)

Transandrophobia/transmisandry isn't just "misogyny plus transphobia" its also specific problems that transmen find themselves facing, some like i listed are general to men but primarily minority men, but some are for being a transman.

And saying transmen face unique struggles does not downplay struggles transwomen face.

Nor does talking about struggles unique to men (ussually more pronounced if other minorities) does not downplay struggles unique to women.

This is not an either or. All issues should be addressed.
