FINALLY, AFTER LIKE 3 YEARS, IVE GONE BACK TO MY ANNUAL PRIDE ICONS OF CHARACTERS FROM MEDIA IM FIXATED ON<3
no seriously i used to do this every year for like, 3 whole years before high school and then college stole that time from me. i think i only managed to finish these (with minimal carpal tunnel) because i allowed myself to get loose with the line art. i tried to use it as an exercise for jsut getting comfortable not doing too many passes. this was as much a nostalgia trip as it was a reminder for myself to be as self indulgent and "cringe" as i wanted. some of these are headcanons (poly zane, nb harumi, trans cole, lesbian nya) and some are just color palette matches lol. i just wanted to get at least one real pride post out on time bc, as a poly, enby lesbian creator, this month means a whole fuckin lot to me. sorry for the ramble/rant
i also put the couples (samurai & glacier) together bc hey!!! those are my guys!!!1!
ALSO ALSO my hand gave out once these ones were done so im not adding other characters or flags, im resting my damn hand lol

Dragons Rising spoilers below, beware :3c
don't get me wrong, i ADORE how many new female characters we've gotten in DR, but im terrified that in part 2 ninjago will continue its pattern of disregarding female characters' issues and ignoring/not making interactions between female characters pass the Bechdel test.
i say this mainly because sora's first introduced issue/concern is a valid one. she really could have hurt Nya and herself during that battle. this, of course, is not talked out between the characters (despite the fact that they could have a very interesting and enlightening conversation about powers and how they do/don't define themselves)
the only female character sora gets to interact with for prolonged periods of time is doc larow, and while she introduces an interesting level of angst and sparks wonderful growth in sora, i find it distressing that nya was RIGHT THERE and they didnt even get to talk it out together!!!!
euphrasia talks with her while shes accompanied by arin, and she doesn't even get to MEET wyldfyre until after the big battle in imperium!!! presumably they interacted during lloyd's coma, but WE DIDNT GET TO SEE IT.
the only person she confides in is arin, but it makes sense as they are close friends and basically grew up together post merge, AND sora is extremely closed off. theres an in canon reason for it, but im so concerned that, much like mei from lmk or nya in every season ever, soras problems wont be acknowledged or talked about in canon. its one of the big problems i have with the series' writing.
dont get me wrong, i love the new dynamic and the new girls, im just concerned ninjago will fall into its old sexist pitfalls. in the meantime, i am going to enjoy these girls before something bad happens to them

3 Great LEGO Themes That Unlock a Child’s Imagination
A single LEGO set can open a world of wonder for a child. That may be why LEGO is one of the most popular toy brands in the world. From LEGO DUPLO to LEGO Creator Expert, there is a LEGO theme for everyone. Each theme is a voyage of discovery into a world of imagination for children (and even adults). Children can be transported to distant lands right from the comfort of their bedroom. Plus, they have the option of following the provided instruction booklet or forging ahead into their own imaginative adventure. Better yet, they can mix and match sets to their heart’s content. If you’re looking for new ways to stir your child’s imagination, here are three LEGO themes that are sure to unlock all sorts of possibilities.
Tumblr media
The Iconic LEGO City Brings Familiar Themes Home LEGO City is one of the brand’s oldest and most recognisable themes. It didn’t always go by the name “LEGO City,” but it has always been a theme where children can find familiar elements from their community turned into LEGO bricks. You have police stations, fire and rescue services, family homes, town centres and vehicles of all kinds. Children can recreate their own community or create one from their imaginations. They can build a small village for their favourite minifigures, race cars against their friends, or build the ultimate rescue service station complete with a fleet of helicopters. Plus, LEGO City is always expanding, so you can discover something new with each set. LEGO Friends Creates an Immersive Play Experience LEGO Friends has a lot in common with LEGO City. While you won’t find police or fire service buildings here, you will find holiday homes, animal rescues, day-care centres, restaurants, and more. LEGO Friends is a way for children to bring more colour and vibrancy into their imaginative play. They can play with cute animals while they join friends at their holiday beach house. LEGO Friends takes children beyond their ordinary world and transports them to a new place where friends gather and are always ready for a new adventure. The theme also introduces children to a different style of minifigure called the mini doll. Mini dolls have a more “realistic” appearance that young children can connect with. They may see more of themselves in the mini doll and feel more immersed in their play experience. Experience Magic with LEGO Harry Potter Imagination is at the heart of LEGO Harry Potter and all Harry Potter toys. This includes the beloved LEGO Harry Potter building sets. The LEGO Harry Potter Hogwarts Chamber of Secrets set recreates familiar scenes from the film and book. Children can explore the Great Hall or delve into the depths of the Chamber of Secrets hidden beneath Hogwarts. The set includes minifigures like Harry Potter, Ginny Weasley, Luna Lovegood, Gilderoy Lockhart, Albus Dumbledore, Nearly Headless Nick, Tom Riddle and more. Children can recreate magical scenes of their favourite Harry Potter moments. Or they can create new magical adventures with characters they know and love. They can even bring in new characters and figures from their other collections. No matter which LEGO theme you choose, they always offer endless storytelling possibilities. About Hamleys® There’s something magical about toys. This is a sentiment Hamleys® knows well. Since their humble beginnings in 1760, Hamleys® has been dedicated to bringing joy and wonder to children throughout the UK and the world at large. Every day, Hamleys® welcomes countless children to their many locations, including their landmark location on London’s famous Regent Street. Hamleys® is a place where you’ll find a collection of the latest toys alongside classic toys that continue to stand the test of time. For the ask game: tdp and lotr ;)
Ohoho I see how it is, fam! Gosh, okay uhhhhhhhh
TDP
blorbo (favorite character, character I think about the most) - Runaan, my angsty long-haired neurodiverse stabby honorable hot elf son who is hopelessly in love with his husband and cannot say feelings to save his life
scrunkly (my “baby”, character that gives me cuteness aggression, character that is So Shaped) - Bait, tubby lump o' grump, a rainbow of colors and feelings
scrimblo bimblo (underrated/underappreciated fave) - Opeli, Queen of Order and President/Founder of the We Hate Viren Club, what is their combined backstory like, gosh
glup shitto (obscure fave, character that can appear in the background for 0.2 seconds and I won’t shut up about it for a week) -Crow Master, my emo son, what is up with his corvid-shaped shadow, he tries so hard to do a Good Job!
poor little meow meow (“problematic”/unpopular/controversial/otherwise pathetic fave) - Viren, High Mage of Katolis, Bi Disaster Man, Irredeemable(?) Asshole, Horny On Main For Elves Power, Stealer of Shirts, Eater of Orange Peels, Swiper of Crowns, Locker-upper of Children, Devil-Dealing Dumbass, Reluctant Blood Ritual Performer, Just Generally Thirsty, Researcher and Schemer Extraordinaire Yet Still So Foolable, Smooth-kneed for Saleer, First of His Name
horse plinko (character I would torment for fun, for whatever reason) - ahaha no this would also be Viren if I wanted to break someone, but usually I torment Runaan because he can take it
eeby deeby (character I would send to superhell) - you might think I will say Aaravos, but it's actually whoever is responsible for the Moonshadow elves having to deal with the angst of blood promises/binding ribbons and having assassins in the first place. Someone set this precedent, and it's still here, ruining human and elven lives/families alike. So if that's a dragon, like Luna Tenebris, fine. If it's Bloodmoon Huntress, fine. If it's still Aaravos, fine. May every step they take on the path to superhell land on a Lego.
LOTR
blorbo (favorite character, character I think about the most) - Elvenking Thranduil, yes I have a type, stoic white-haired queer badass leaders who protect their people in problematic ways while looking hot, what about it
scrunkly (my “baby”, character that gives me cuteness aggression, character that is So Shaped) - Kili, he's literally a chibi dwarf, come on
scrimblo bimblo (underrated/underappreciated fave) - Celebrimbor, the elven smith who got fooled into making the Rings of Power. He's kinda a Feanor 2.0, except way better than the OG redheaded disaster elf because his heart was in a much better place, and realistically who wouldn't fall prey to the charms of Sauron? Anyway, he makes pretty magic artifacts, he's an artificer and that's freaking awesome
glup shitto (obscure fave, character that can appear in the background for 0.2 seconds and I won’t shut up about it for a week) - gotta be the Mouth of Sauron, he's freaky and gross but somehow weirdly compelling
poor little meow meow (“problematic”/unpopular/controversial/otherwise pathetic fave) - Denethor, Steward of Gondor, for the sheer amount of family and cultural angst he can carry all at once, he's an idiotic drama king steward and he drives so much of the plot with his dumb slanted perspective... He's basically a Viren
horse plinko (character I would torment for fun, for whatever reason) - Gimli son of Gloin, because he howls so horribly and Generally Emotes With Overkill, but also so his gentle elven prince, Legolas Greenleaf, can show up to help calm him down and set things right again
eeby deeby (character I would send to superhell) - Smaug! He's a sad little king of a sad little hill, petty and cruel, a tiny little bitch and a coward, pathetic but not even in an interesting meow meow way like Denethor. Just fall, burn, and perish already, you paper airplane lightweight. Ugh.
DUDE this was fun, tysm!!

The History of my planned franchise
This fictional Universe, which is now simply called “ Fantasy “, had many previous names and incarnations.
The very first few Comics simply starred an overly simplistic drawing of the artist and had no specific name. This were just comedy stories were bad things happened to the author and had no real story.
The very first story incarnation of the franchise was “ Litli and his magical Pencil “ which shifted more to a child friendly comedy adventure style.
The main character was an oval smiley called Litli and he posessed a magical pencil with which he can create anything, His personality was more or less baed on spongebob. The story was supposed to be told in 3 parts, however i quit after not even finishing the first comic due to negative reception from class mates.
In the only comic book available, Litli gets chased after by his rival General Phil who sees Litli as a threat and wants to steal his magic pencil. He manipulates Litlis Pencil  and after making him feel alone, Litlis draws himself multiple friends ( all being copys of himself ) which then however turn evil and become the henchman of Phil.
It would have been revealed that Litli was a failed experiment and some of Phils relatives were killed during Litlis creation, however i never finished that storyline. A proposed sequel would have featured his evil mirror double Iltil, however because that name sounded stupid in german, i changed Litlis name to Lidli, so that his evil counterpart could be named Ildil.
A second version of the franchise was “ The adventures of XP “, which starred a cross chapped main character who had a sidequick called the Hunter, however i cancelled it so quickly, there is no story to tell.
A third version was called “ The Adventures of Stone and Cave “ and featured two Lego Characters who had to fight an alien species. Also cancelled.
A Fourth Version featured Mario and Luigi look alikes and it was called “ Klario and Flummigi against the bacteria “. This weird story was about Klario and Flummigi going against a very large species of bacteria and...thats it. Cancelled as well before any actual storyline existed.
A fifth Version was simply titled “ Phantom “ and was about a faceless serial killer called Phantom. He only has two yellow cat like eyes and sharp teeth, In the original comics he never had a body and was really just two floating eyes and a mouth. However he was somehow still holding on to a pair of scissors and a needle, which he uses to kill his victims and sew them together into his new creations. His only character trait was the he is evil. There were also some other villains like a guy who only killed people who had sex and the first incarnation of Annika, here she was called Bloody Mary and was the love interest of Phamtom.
She has an obsession with children and tries to create her own out of spare body parts she got from her victims. However, she and Phantom soon start to fight each other in a Freddy vs Jason manner. However the entire Phantom storyxline was cancelled as well.
After that, i thought about giving all this comics one shared universe and called the town there were all living in “ Travell “. And the franchise was soon called “ The Adventures of Travell “.
Lidli was now a Kangoroo and the storyline would have included a world ranking list, were everybody can fight each other to prove who is the stongest and Lidli, wo has just crash landed on the planet, slowly figuring out the world and trying to particiape in the list. The Storyline would have also involed 2 Witches who would try to rule over the world by joining forces with a demon who in turn get shis powers from a lost innocent child.
However cancelled.
Then i tried to imitate Pinkamena and the Luna Games, by creating Dorufine and some failed video game attempts and animations and after many blog deletes, i renamed the franchise The Blossom Flower and changed the main Character back to Bloody Mary, although she was called Annika as a cover up.
But you all know how that went and no i renamed the entire thing to “ Fantasy “ and still dont post becausde i still hate my art.
But now you know everything you could possibly know about the stupid Sh** i made.

Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse Movie Review
Tumblr media
Spider-Man 2 set the standard for the wall-crawler’s celluloid escapes, and the movies have been trying to catch up to that ever since. Thanks in large part to poor decisions by Sony, it never came close until Marvel got a hand on the property again. The last thing I ever expected from Sony’s own spin-off movies was that they’d be any good, especially after surviving Venom. As it turns out, the soul of the character just needed animation to set it free. Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse is not only a great entry in the webslinger’s mostly forgettable filmography, it’s in the top tier of superhero films, period.
Miles Morales (Shamiek Moore) is a black teen being sent to a private school after winning a scholarship; his father (Brian Tyree Henry) is a by-the-books cop who struggles to understand his growing son but loves him anyway, which sounds cliche but works because the character is so well-written. His mother (Luna Lauren Velez) is unfortunately sidelined, and spending more time on her in the sequel would be welcome. He looks up to his uncle Aaron (Mahershala Ali), who shares Miles’s love of graffiti art but who is also some sort of a criminal. I mention Miles’s race because it’s important: the movie elects for a happily stable family and a smart kid with a bright future, a rare focus for African American characters in cinema. The movie is not political in the slightest, and treats this as if it’s not uncommon, because it isn’t. It’s a deliberate contrast to Peter Parker, whose life is a constant mess. Miles gets his powers with a similar spider bite and without much fanfare.
Tumblr media
Speaking of Peter Parker, he shows up, voiced by Chris Pine, and gets in a big fight involving the Green Goblin (Jorma Taccone) and the Kingpin (Liev Schreiber), classic Spider-Man villains somewhat re-imagined for the setting. When things go wrong trying to stop a dimension-combining device, Miles lands the gig of stopping the machine from firing again, but can barely use his own powers. Another Parker (Jake Johnson), an older and out-of-shape one who has given up on life, shows up and doesn’t make a very adequate mentor. He’s eventually joined by numerous other versions. Spider-Gwen (Hailee Steinfeld), who is clearly here to launch her own spin-off, is cynical and calculating. Peni Parker (Kimiko Glenn) is an anime take on the character whose powers are actually invested in a machine that I think is piloted by a spider itself. I’ll be honest, I lost the details in the rush, but she works because she’s more homage to the form than parody. Spider-Ham/Peter Porker (John Mulaney) is sadly underutilized and didn’t really add as much as he could; there’s too many other Spider-guys for him to stand out. By far my favorite was Spider-Man Noir, a version who is almost all shadow, wears a fedora and trench-coat, and is voiced brilliantly by Nicolas Cage, who channels Humphrey Bogart and James Cagney. Indeed, the voice cast is so stuffed that Lily Tomlin and Zoe Kravitz end up in tertiary roles. Each of these alternate heroes got sucked into Miles’s universe and will see their molecules fracture like a bad radio signal if they don’t get back. For this, they seek the help of a batty-but-brilliant scientist (Kathryn Hahn), who provokes one of Parker’s best lines. Each is accompanied by a quick and humorous rundown of their respective origins, which both serves as a nice send-up of the now-tedious origin story and fills in whatever small amount of info the audience might need.
A disclaimer for those who are understandably confused about Spidey’s cinematic history: none of these Spider-People are the same one from the Marvel Cinematic Universe, that interconnected place of Guardians and Avengers. The Parker here appears to be some version of the one from Sam Raimi’s first trilogy, and considering the divided reception of that line, it’s an interesting choice (it still contains the best Spider-Man movie, and a couple lackluster ones). It matters far less than it does in the MCU, because this movie feeds more on energy, humor and heart than on continuity. To my recollection (it’s been a while), all of these characters exist in some way in the comics, but you don’t have to care. On screen, they play off each other wonderfully. The jaded Parker is like those wizened mentors from every movie ever made about a plucky kid finding his way, except this guy, while having the skills, doesn’t care. That’s a decidedly different look for Spider-Man, one that only an animated film, specifically only an animated film this unique, could pull off; an apathetic hero is just not something audiences would accept if he were the main character. The Noir version has the most potential for his own movie, as his universe is the most different from what we’ve seen before. Like Rey in Star Wars, Spider-Gwen is unfortunately given the least interesting character, but there’s room for development later. For some reason, the same people that decided we need more female heroes (which we do) also decided they always have to be---pardon the expression---the straight man. Will we maybe have a female take on Tony Stark at some point? I won’t hold my breath; the culture just isn’t there yet.
Tumblr media
The heroes are of course opposed by the afore-mentioned villains, joined by many others: Prowler, a Batman-esque fighter, Scorpion (Joaquin Cosio), Tombstone (Marvin “Krondon” Jones III) and a surprise bonus pick who I will not mention because you should discover it for yourself, except to say this person really works while, in a way, bringing back a long-absent, long in demand foe. When machines are activated and villains are fighting, the movie does occasionally veer somewhat close to confusion, but it always recovers, with the exception of some of the villains being rather generic. Animation has unshackled the agility, speed and wit Spider-Man has always evoked in the minds of people flipping through comic panels. There’s a litheness to the movements of the characters that no amount of CG could ever replicate, and a boundless energy that the unique animation style---designed to look like comic panels in motion and, to my eternal shock, actually successful in this---works perfectly with.
Still, the most surprising thing is how the emotions carry through. Each Spider-Dude-or-Dudette has their own tragedy and loss, and the sense that no matter what universe he exists in, he’ll always have to deal with that is sadly poignant, especially for anyone who grew up on the Spider-Man mythos. There are actual stakes here; even the motivations of the Kingpin have real heft. The movie has been handled by Lego Movie producers Phil Lord and Christopher Miller, with a small army of co-writers joining along the way, and the surprise is that for once, so many cooks have managed to concoct something that feels so sincere.
If you aren’t a comic person, don’t worry. There’s enough heart here to sweep you up even if you don’t know your spiders from your bats. Stan Lee’s posthumous cameo feels fitting, in a movie that does right by his (and Steve Ditko’s) best creation. Nerds tend to declare amazing absolutely every comic movie that comes out. And every once in a while, they’re right.
Verdict: Highly Recommended (3 1/2 out of 4 stars)

Star Wars Movie and TV Release Date Calendar
https://ift.tt/eA8V8J
The future of Star Wars is secure. The end of the Skywalker Saga didn’t mean the end of the story of the galaxy far, far away. It just meant countless new possibilities, both on the big and small screens. In fact, Disney has already announced more than a dozen live-action and animated projects that explore other corners of the Star Wars universe, from adventures starring the brave X-wing pilots and clone troopers on the front lines of countless wars to tales of bounty hunters and even the Sith. And plenty more in between!
This post is where we’ll keep track of all the upcoming Star Wars movie and TV releases as they’re announced and release dates are set. Hit the links in each entry to read articles that tell you more about what you need to know about all these new Star Wars adventures!
Stream your Star Wars favorites right here!
First up are the movies but scroll down for TV release dates…
Upcoming Star Wars Movies
Rogue Squadron
December 22, 2023
Director: Patty Jenkins
Disney confirmed during an Investors Day presentation in Dec. 2020 that the first Star Wars movie to follow The Rise of Skywalker is Rogue Squadron, a movie that “will introduce a new generation of starfighter pilots as they earn their wings and risk their lives in a boundary-pushing, high-speed thrill-ride, and move the saga into the future era of the galaxy.”
Wonder Woman‘s Patty Jenkins will direct, making her the first woman to helm a Star Wars movie. We’re very excited about this!
Read more about Rogue Squadron here.
Untitled Taika Waititi Star Wars Movie
TBA
Director: Taika Waititi
Writer: Taika Waititi and Krysty Wilson-Cairns
After his stint directing (and voice acting) on The Mandalorian, Taika Waititi will return for a big screen offering!
“Taika’s approach to Star Wars will be fresh, unexpected, and…unique,” said Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy in a statement in 2020. “His enormous talent and sense of humor will ensure that audiences are in for an unforgettable ride.”
There’s very little in the way of actual details right now, not even a release date yet, but we’ll be keeping a careful eye on this as it develops.
Untitled Kevin Feige Star Wars Movie
TBA
Writer: Michael Waldron
Marvel Cinematic Universe steward Kevin Feige has been the last decade building a multi-billion-dollar superhero blockbuster powerhouse for Disney, so it’s no surprise the House of Mouse is giving the producer a crack at its other big sci-fi franchise. Feige is developing a new Star Wars movie with Kathleen Kennedy, and Loki creator and head writer is penning the script. And that’s all we know about this sure-to-be-massive Star Wars picture.
Untitled J.D. Dillard Star Wars Movie
TBA
Director: J.D. Dillard
Writer: Matt Owens
Reports of a new Star Wars movie from Sleight director J.D. Dillard and Luke Cage writer Matt Owens first hit the internet in Feb. 2020. We don’t know much about this movie or when it’ll premiere. Could this be an exclusive Disney+ movie?
Read more about this movie here.
Rian Johnson’s Star Wars Trilogy
TBA
As far as we know, The Last Jedi director Rian Johnson is still working on his own Star Wars trilogy. All we know about these movies is that they will take place in previously unexplored areas of the Star Wars universe, and will kick off a brand new saga of films completely unrelated to the Skywalker story. We wrote in more detail about what that might mean for the franchise right here.
On the other hand, maybe Johnson’s recent comments about what a mistake it is to pander to fans are an indication that his relationship with Disney has soured. He also happens to be working on multiple sequels for a little franchise called Knives Out. Those are probably taking up a bit of his time, no? Read more about this new Star Wars trilogy here.
Upcoming Star Wars TV Shows
After the success of The Mandalorian, it should come as no surprise that there are way more Star Wars TV series coming to Disney+ in the next few years. Here’s what you have to look forward to…
Visions
Sept. 22, 2021
Animation Studios: Kamikaze Douga, Geno Studio, Studio Colorido, Trigger, Kinema Citrus, Science Saru, and Production IG
This new anime anthology series is one of the most unique Star Wars projects yet. Lucasfilm has brought in several big Japanese animation companies to produce their own takes on the galaxy far, far away. The nine short film collected in Visions cover many different corners of the universe, from tales about the Jedi and Sith to the adventures of a cute little droid, each with its own distinct art style. Boba Fett is in there, too! More like this, please.
Lego Star Wars Terrifying Tales
Oct. 1, 2021
Director: Ken Cunningham
Writer: David Shayne
Starring: Jake Green as Poe Dameron; Raphael Alejandro as Dean; Dana Snyder as Graballa the Hutt; Tony Hale as Vaneé; Christian Slater as Ren; Trevor Devall as Emperor Palpatine; and Mary Elizabeth McGlynn as NI-L8
Loved last year’s Lego Star Wars Holiday Special and want more of that, please? No? Too bad. We’re getting more Lego Star Wars shenanigans this year, but this time Poe and BB-8 must confront the spooky season. The premise actually doesn’t sound all that bad: after the events of The Rise of Skywalker, Poe and his trusty droid must make an emergency landing on the volcanic planet of Mustafar, where they’ll venture deep into Darth Vader’s old castle and encounter and ancient evil that must be stopped. Could be good!
The Book of Boba Fett
Christmas 2021
Executive Producers: Jon Favreau, Dave Filoni & Robert Rodriguez
Starring: Temuera Morrison, Ming-Na Wen
Boba Fett is back and getting his own spin-off series set within the timeline of The Mandalorian. The show will also star Boba’s new partner, the deadly assassin Fennec Shand!
The Book of Boba Fett has wrapped filming and is slated to premiere in Christmas 2021. Robert Rodriguez, who directed Boba Fett’s return in The Mandalorian season 2, will exec produce alongside Favreau and Filoni.
The Mandalorian Season 3
2022
Executive Producers: Jon Favreau & Dave Filoni
Starring: Pedro Pascal, Carl Weathers, Gina Carano, Katee Sackhoff
The Mandalorian season 3 went into pre-production in 2020 and is set to film in Fall 2021, now that work on The Book of Boba Fett is complete. That means we won’t see this one until the second half of 2022 at the earliest.
The Bad Batch Season 2
2022
Director: Brad Rau
Writers: Jennifer Corbett & Matt Michnovetz
The Bad Batch is set directly after the events of Order 66. The rise of the Empire has led to the destruction of the Jedi, and as we learned in the first action-packed season, the imminent end of the clone army. Grand Moff Tarkin wants to replace the clones with a new, more obedient human army and Clone Force 99 isn’t too happy about it. Now on the run from the new galactic order, Hunter, Tech, Wrecker, Echo, and new member Omega must find their new place in a galaxy that no longer seems to want them.
The first season ended on a massive cliffhanger that could have huge implications for storylines coming up in the live-action universe. We can’t wait to see what season 2 has in store.
Read more about The Bad Batch here.
Obi-Wan Kenobi
2022
Director: Deborah Chow
Writer: Hossein Amini, Joby Harold
Starring: Ewan McGregor, Hayden Christensen, Moses Ingram, Joel Edgerton, Bonnie Piesse, Kumail Nanjiani, Indira Varma, Rupert Friend, O’Shea Jackson Jr., Sung Kang, Simone Kessell, and Benny Safdie
Ewan McGregor is finally returning to the role of Obi-Wan Kenobi in a series set between Revenge of the Sith and A New Hope. The Jedi Master has settled into his life as an exile on Tatooine, where he’s watching over Luke Skywalker from afar. Will his next adventure take him off-world or is he going to have to protect a defenseless village from raiders Toshiro Mifune style?
Here’s what we know about the plot: “The series begins 10 years after the dramatic events of Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith where he faced his greatest defeat, the downfall and corruption of his best friend and Jedi apprentice, Anakin Skywalker turned evil Sith Lord Darth Vader.”
Hayden Christensen is returning to play Vader, which is very exciting!
Andor
2022
Writer: Tony Gilroy
Starring: Diego Luna, Alan Tudyk, Genevieve O’Reilly, Stellan Skarsgard, Denise Gough, Kyle Stoller
There’s a Rogue One spinoff series starring Rebel secret agent Cassian Andor coming to Disney+! According to the press release, “The rousing spy thriller will explore tales filled with espionage and daring missions to restore hope to a galaxy in the grip of a ruthless Empire.” This sounds very good.
This series was set to film in early 2020, but Covid-19 pandemic delayed the show. It finally wrapped filming in August 2021.
The Acolyte
TBA
Executive Producer & Writer: Leslye Headland
Russian Doll co-creator Leslye Headland is developing a new series called The Acolyte, which is set during the High Republic era, a time period that predates even The Phantom Menace. The series is said to be “female-centric” and seems to be a darker Star Wars story than what we’re used to seeing on screen.
Lucasfilm describes the show as “a mystery-thriller that will take the audience into a galaxy of shadowy secrets and emerging dark side powers in the final days of the High Republic era.” Sounds intriguing!
We have some theories as to what the show could be about here.
Ahsoka
TBA
Executive Producers: Jon Favreau & Dave Filoni
Writer: Dave Filoni
Starring: Rosario Dawson
Described as a limited series that continues the story of Ahsoka Tano after the events of The Mandalorian season 2 episode “The Jedi,” Ahsoka will likely bring the beloved hero one step closer to finding her missing Jedi friend Ezra Bridger and taking down Grand Admiral Thrawn once and for all.
Rangers of the New Republic
TBA
Executive Producers: Jon Favreau & Dave Filoni
We don’t know anything about this show except that it’s set within The Mandalorian timeline and will “intersect with future stories and culminate into a climactic story event.” It sounds like Star Wars may be on its way to having its first big TV crossover.
That said, recent reports suggest this show’s been put on hold due to the dismissal of Gina Carano, who was said to star on the show as Republic marshal Cara Dune. At the very least, it’ll likely be a while before we finally see this one.
Lando
TBA
Writer: Justin Simien
The smoothest scoundrel in the galaxy is finally getting his own event series on Disney+. It’s currently unclear whether this series will follow the younger Lando played by Donald Glover or the original one played by Billy Dee Williams. Maybe it’ll star both?!
A Droid Story
TBA
This animated TV movie will follow C-3PO and R2-D2 as well as introduce a new hero to the Star Wars galaxy. That’s all we know at the moment!
cnx.cmd.push(function() { cnx({ playerId: "106e33c0-3911-473c-b599-b1426db57530", }).render("0270c398a82f44f49c23c16122516796"); });

Jack Ryans
Jack Ryans
It was 1966 in Germany. A boy, only sixteen months old and named Jack, was playing on the second story balcony. His mother wasn’t watching him. Barbara had two other children at the time, one a newborn. Jack’s older sister, Lilly, was playing dolls in the house. Jack was playing with a ball. It rolled off, and he went after it. He plummeted thirteen feet from the balcony, hitting his head.
Lilly saw and screamed for her mother. Jack was taken to the hospital, he lived, but not without brain damage. Fortunately it only left him with a learning disability. The incident put strain on Jack’s parent’s relationship. His father, Jack sr., blamed Barbara for not preventing it. Soon after the family moved back to Arizona where Jack would spend most of his childhood. There was also another addition, his name was Tony.
Jack had two teachers that he actually liked… In second grade he had Ms. Jackolette. She was kind, never calling him names like most of the kids would. She also encouraged him to go to his resource classes to get help with his reading.
In sixth grade Jack had Mr. Daletory… “Every mor-ning Pa... took-” Jack read from the textbook, struggling with the words.
“Dang that guy is stupid.” A kid snickered.
“his gun, and his tr-aps... and was gone a-all day in the Big Woods, set-ting the sm-all tr-aps for must rots, no, musk-rats-” Jack continued, trying to not let the kid get to him.
“Yeah, he can’t even read right.” That made the whole class laugh. Jack was enraged, he was putting forth a lot of effort. Out of rage and frustration he flipped the desk. “That’s enough, it’s not as if you fools can read much better. Jack, why don’t you go outside and cool down for a bit,” Mr. Daletory proclaimed.
Weeks later Mr. Daletory brought in plywood for the kids to make flower boxes to sell as a fundraiser. With the money they went to the Grand Canyon.
When Jack wasn’t struggling to make sense of what the teachers were saying in school, he mowed the neighbors’ lawns. Right after school you could find him delivering newspapers on his paper route. In his free time he would play with his siblings…
“But I wanted to be a cowboy this time,” Tony complained glaring at his older brothers.
“You’re the youngest so you have to play as an Indian,” Shawn explained.
“Lilly is playing as an Indian and she isn’t complaining,” Jack mentioned.
“But she’s weird,” Tony exclaimed.
“I am not, I just like pretending to be Sacagawea,” Lilly said.
The four of them would play like this until dinner, chasing each other. There was also plenty of name calling.   A few years later they moved to California where Jack would spend the rest of his teen years, and eventually his adulthood. Jack’s mom Barbara also remarried while in California. Pat helped focus Jack’s mechanical knowledge into a career.
When Jack moved to the Antelope valley he met Delilah. It was in algebra class. They didn't start dating right away. Eventually they got married. They put off the wedding once, but eventually decided that there would be no perfect time, so they set a date and went with it. The wedding took place in Las Vegas; family and friends attended.
Roughly two years later Jack and Delilah had their first kid, a boy named after his father. That was one of three of Jack’s favorite memories.  They went to Seaworld, Mexico, and Lego Land as family vacations. There was something missing, and about ten years after Jack jr. was born the family had another addition. Her name was Lynne. This was another of Jack’s favorite memories. Four years after her birth there was a surprise, as it had taken so long to conceive their second child they had thought it would be impossible to have a third. This surprise was named Kenneth, but given the nickname Kenny.
In about 2006 Jack became a manager at Northrop Grumman. This made more luxuries available for the family.
In 2013 Jack became a grandfather, or grump-pa rather. Luna looked a lot like her father Jack jr. In 2014 the family took a trip to Mt. Rushmore. Jack and Delilah took turns driving there. Jack was glad to see the monument with his family. On the way back to California, they stopped in Washington to meet up with Jack’s father. This was Lynne’s second time meeting him, and Kenny's first. At the bowling alley Jack and his father talked about nothing in particular. Jack sr. gave the kids quarters to play some of the old arcade games. Jack was quite amused with his daughter.
Two years later Jack took his family to Alabama for his sister-in-law’s surprise birthday party. The drive to the airport made him extremely anxious. On the plane he humored his daughter by posing for selfies, and trying to get Kenny to join in. The drive from the airport to the hotel was long and confusing. The GPS took them the backstreet way, and in comparison to the AV’s simple grid, Alabama was baffling.
The green was his favorite part. Alabama had so much vegetation compared to California.
October, hunting season was in full swing. Jack waits, hoping a deer will cross his path. He’s fifty-one now, his oldest son married, his daughter in her junior year of high school, his youngest still in middle school. Jack stopped talking to his siblings; their lifestyles clashed with his. He was the most successful out of them. Jack hopes his children will become even more successful than him. Despite the challenges he had faced, and the problems that may arise, he has to say he’s happy with how his life has turned out.

i know. i know i know i KNOW ninjago is a kids show and i shouldnt be surprised but FUCK, MAN
so many (SO MANY) characters in this stupid lego show deserve to be angry, especially at each other. i hope w dragons rising emotional beats will hit harder and last longer (but im not betting on it) but the og show? that pile of garbage???
lloyd is allowed to be angry at his mother. lloyd is and SHOULD be angry with his father and uncle. at jay and kai. he has SO MANY PEOPLE he could beef with (and in the case of the first one and last two, I THINK MAYBE SHOULD!!!!) but he CANT bc its a show for babies!!!!
im just. so full of rage and i want my favorites to as well. i want zane to be angry for the ableism in season 1, for being forced into this role as an unemotional entity used as a meat shield and protector, for being forged into the soldier that can come back, for learning his only worth comes through death. i want nya to tell jay to fuck off and respect her fucking boundaries, i want her to scream at wu and misako and garmadon, i want her to be angry with kai and how enabling he is, i want her to deck jay in the face, i want her to be able to vocalize and talk through her hurts and explain how dehumanizing it is to be forged into a person whose only worth is her power, when she was so much happier without. i want cole to be able to hate his dad for never telling him about his mom. i want lloyd!!! to be angry!!!! i dont care if this seems canon to others i am just!!!
I WANT THESE LEGOS TO BE ANGRY AND PISSED OFF!!! I WANT THEM TO BE ANGRY!!! AT EACH OTHER!! BECAUSE I AM ANGRY!!!!

What's on TV: 'Castlevania,' 'Snowfall,' 'Candy Crush'
It's a holiday week, but if you're up from people setting off fireworks early, you can check out six new comedy specials on Netflix Tuesday morning as part of The Standups, with Deon Cole, Beth Stelling, Nate Bargatze, Dan Soder, Nikki Glaser, and Fortune Feimster. Then, later this week the service drops season one of its animated Castlevania series, as well as the most recent season of CW's iZombie. FX is premiering Snowfall, its crack cocaine era drama from John Singleton, while Hulu drops season one of Pure. The most unusual debut, however, is probably the new Candy Crush game show on CBS. Look after the break to check out each day's highlights, including trailers and let us know what you think (or what we missed).

Come November and the air is crisp, the lights have started sparkling, hot chocolates are a chocolatier, everybody is buying gifts and all is red and we are getting ready for our old man Mr Santa. Well in all this excitement we decided to visit in November and with our 5-year-old daughter who was visiting NYC for the first time. The sight of the fall season with its colourful trees was a perfect welcome we were looking forward too.
This trip was a completely new experience as this was my daughter’s first international trip and we were worried about meals, sleep, weather and of course jet lag.
Our trip started with a direct flight from Delhi to NYC on Air India, which lands early in the morning NYC time. You get a full day to reach your hotel and settle in for the crazy vacation ahead. It took us around 1.5 hrs to reach Manhattan from the airport.
As we were not travelling outside New York, so our base for the whole trip was Hotel Pennsylvania. The location is just perfect, it is 10 min from Time Square, 15 min from central park and 5th Avenue. With 24hr restaurants near the hotel, food is never a problem, especially when you are jet lagged. The most amazing Penn Station, which is across the street. Most of the Hop on Hop off tours are being sold outside the hotel gate, you can choose from a couple of operators.
First things first … you are going to walk a lot so a Stroller is a must. Either get one with you or you can buy it in NYC. We bought it from a Kmart store 5 min from our hotel. And I can’t tell you how useful and convenient it was. Next is a 7-day unlimited subway pass, which will save you loads of money and time. Ohanna used to sleep by 6 in the evening and we used to cover her with a blanket and take her everywhere we went. I came back super fit after the trip, with all the walking and pushing around the stroller. When visiting USA kids might take 2-4 days to get over Jet lag. So keep the first few days travel plans light keeping in mind the sleep patterns and the exhaustion.
The first day itself we went to Times Square in the evening. It was really sad to see that the Toy store had closed down, but none the less there was a lot to do. After clicking loads of pics we went into M&M store right around the corner. It is really huge and fun for both adults and kids. You can get all kinds of M&M toys, clothes, mugs and accessories. Don’t forget the free instant photo booth.
A Broadway with your kids is a must. You can buy last minute discounted tickets from TKT located at Times square for some the most amazing Broadway shows like Lion King, School of rock, etc. We saw Mary Poppins and it was in a very vintage looking theatre with beautiful balconies and interiors.
Bronx Zoo
• It is by far the best and the biggest zoo I’ve ever been to. You can buy discounted tickets from their site or at the gate itself. In summers it is highly recommended that you do it online to save time standing in the queue, also it is free on Wednesdays. A very sturdy stroller can be hired at the entry gate for kids; I did and would really recommend it. Day is full of surprises, fun and lot’s of learning for kids and adults alike, with exhibits like sea lion feeding, birds of paradise, flamingos, polar bear, Siberian tiger, African lions, giraffes, penguins, African safari, train in summers, 3D show, bugs carousel and a huge canteen-cafe with good food and very nice coffee.
Staten Island Ferry
It is free and perfect for watching Statue of Liberty and later catching up with old friends. By evening we were exhausted and came back early, but not before spending time at Time square. You will go crazy with the 10000 plus eating joints in the city with a huge variety of cuisines to choose from. Try new places every day.
Central Park
We were extremely lucky with a beautiful sunny day to spend in the central park. The bright sun, fall colours on trees and the fresh crisp air are all we needed to make it perfect. Grabbed a quick bite and we were at one end of the park. Your kids will love the play areas they have built; they are so safe and full of interesting swings and obstacles. Next was the ice skating rink, it was super tiring and so much fun, It’s a must. Soaked the sun and started our long walk in the park going over and under bridges, crossing ponds big and small, statues, various courts and much more. The place was brimming with people running, exercising, cycling, walking their dogs or generally chilling on the lovely green benches. It has a small zoo too if you don’t get time to visit the Bronx.
Coney Island
Being winters we had to give it a pass as luna park was closed and the aquarium was under renovation. But summers you definitely can’t miss it.
Shopping at 5th Avenue and exploring the village- Soho-
On one hand, 5th avenue has huge stores on both side and on the other hand in Village you can find small boutique and designer stores and few of the most interesting restaurants and cafes in Nyc. Check Out High Line park built on an abandoned raised metro line.
Disney on Ice Show:
We found out about the Disney on Ice show in the time out the magazine for kids and were lucky to get tickets for it. Had to take the train to Newark for the magic show with all of the Disney characters. Got late coming back that day and experienced flurries, as it was really cold that day. It was a very special experience
