Finally watching season 5 of one tree hill, Why was Lucas so mad that Peyton didn’t want to marry him when they were NINETEEN!!!! Like she literally says “not now later” cuz shes freakin 19 and workin in a mf mail room like give the girl a minute. Like this entire season arc is based on 19 year old Lucas bein pissy that Peyton was like lets not get married at 19!!!

Usually I don’t agree with P Sawyer but on this one I’m team Peyton. It’s just so funny that Mr “when all my dreams come true you’re the one i want beside me” was like actually nah I’d rather fuck my editor cuz u don’t wanna marry me at NINETEEN also why is this 23 year old even editing his book like she “just graduated” WHY IS SHE EDITING NOVELS SHE SHOULD BE AN INTERN OR SOMETHING the ages in the time jump of this entire show PISS ME OFF.

*little disclaimer, i scripted all of my family in my CR doesn’t exist in my DR because it just makes me feel weird, i don’t know how to explain it. i have a good relationship with my parents and family, but i just feel weird with them being in my DR*

my mom, haley lenz m/l/n

• she is 38, turning 39 soon

• stay at home mom

• 5’8

• had me at 18

• had my brother at 34

my dad, nathan royal m/l/n

• he is 39

• NBA player

• 6’4

• was 19 when i was born

• 34 when my brother was born

my little brother, james lucas m/l/n

• his nickname that everyone calls him, and that he goes by is jamie

• he is 4 years old

• he is in Pre-School at hawkins, starting late since i scripted that we moved back later in the year

• i was 16 when he was born, shortly turning 17 in the next three months

ISN’T HE PRECIOUS???🥹🥹

• my parents got married at 16 and 17 (juniors in high school)

• both went to UNC for school, and my dad played basketball there for a year, before shortly being drafted to the NBA.

• we lived in wilmington nc, until I was 11, having then moved to hawkins (like said in previous post)

• lived in hawkins from 2013-2022, and then we moved to los angeles, california after I graduated, now we are back in hawkins for my dad, as he is back on the Indiana Pacers (see previous post)

• i graduated hawkins high in 2022 (fun fact that is the year i did graduate in my CR)

for those of you who don’t know who these people are, they are Bethany Joy Lenz, James Lafferty, and Jackson Brundage who play Haley, Nathan, and Jamie Scott on One Tree Hill. One Tree Hill will forever be one of my comfort shows, and a show that means a lot to me. I actually got to meet Bethany and James twice at a convention, and it was something I will never forget. They were very kind, genuine people. I always loved Nathan and Haley, (Naley) and adored their relationship, and I wanted them to together. I never once felt jealous over Haley being with Nathan {which is shocking just because when you’re crushing over a fictional character, how can you not be jealous over their s/o lol} and i always called them my TV parents lol. they are set as my parents in all my DR’s, alongside Jamie being my brother. Jamie was their first born, but I made him the second because i’m the youngest sibling in my CR so i wanted to be the big sibling in my DR. Jamie was absolutely adorable in season 5 of One Tree Hill (he was supposed to be 4 turning 5) and i knew he had to be my brother and start off at 4. If you have seen the show, then you know them, and know Nathan and Haley’s story. Their troublesome times they had when they were first together and even later did not happen and are not going to happen in my DR. Some things will be how they are in the show, just some.🚨SPOLIERS ->{like Nathan in the NBA, them getting married at 16/17, them having me at 18/19 (they actually have Jamie, but i switched it to make since clearly LOL }. 🚨I highly recommend you watch the show, it’s one of the best in my opinion. It is on Hulu and Max, and has 9 seasons. it also has Chad Micheal Murray in the show (i have met him three times by the way), {and for you Supernatural and the Walking Dead fans} as well as Jeffery Dean Morgans wife, Hilarie Burton (i think she is in The Walking Dead too? don’t attack me if i don’t know i don’t watch it, SORRY) . which they play Lucas Scott and Peyton Sawyer, who are also my Aunt and Uncle in my DR(s). I won’t spoil anymore for those of you who haven’t seen it, and maybe want to watch. Who knows you might want to shift there after you watch it ;) But yeah, i won’t say to much more on my DR family, other than Lucas is the uncle who coaches at Hawkins High (see previous post) because like i said, i don’t want to spoil anymore. The characters were all in their 20s in seasons 5-9, so i had to make them look and be older than that obviously. so these are pictures of the actors, but they will be their characters. (if that makes since). i edited Bethany a bit, I added some more makeup, and made her hair longer and blonde because i’m blonde so I needed her to be blonde naturally lol. She changes her hair color a lot, but I couldn’t find one of her with blonde hair with the age that I was looking for, or that was a good photo.

ok i now present to you: what i was thinking about during my 2 hour drive home tonight. (re: we need a tda fancast so that in march when all my other obsessions run dry and i come crawling back to cassandra like the little rat i am, i can make stupid tiktok style edits about emma and jules and co). here is what i’ve got. we don’t have to worry about images rn i didn’t do that and i won’t tonight unless i’m awake at 3am. ok let’s get into it

emma- olivia holt. her big brown eyes fr. jules- logan lerman. he was the first guy i thought of. livvy- i’ve said peyton kennedy before but i changed my mind because i also changed my mind about ty so i had to reflect that with livvy. saoirse ronan because she looks like a haunted victorian child. ty- kodi smit-mcphee. he looks like a little bug eyed freak. all love of course. he’s so great in movies too we love him. dru- i said shannon berry before when i did this for twp and i know she’s only 13 in tda but give me a break it’s hard enough to find one actress that can passably be considered curvy or just “not skinny” i did not have a single clue how to find an actual teenage one. shannon is good enough for our purposes… malcolm- tom blyth tbosas obviously do i even need to say more. helena don’t read into that. cristina- cheyenne isabel wells, she played olivia in rise of the pink ladies and she slayed it. jamie- michael cimino because he has a very charming smile and i like him and he’s cute. diego- xolo maridueña because i have seen him in cobra kai unfortunately and i know he has a very good like. stoic yet kind look about him when he wants to. it was hard to think of anyone that had a more serious look that diego would need. mark- i had to think about this one for like. ever. not as long as cristina but like at least three songs. anyway. mike faist. i stand by that he looks elfin. kieran- again i had to think about this one for a while because i needed to think of someone who looked elfin. oh fuck i forgot the actors name. lucas from grey’s anatomy. lucas of season 19 of grey’s anatomy fame. niko terho. he looks like. puck-ish. he could be a pixie. kieran is not a pixie i’m just saying he has that faerie look. to ME. and diana was too hard so i gave up and i’m gonna say danai gurira i know if we’re fancasting diana we should have a trans actress but seriously name a few dark skinned black trans women who are famous actresses that have been in a lot of movies. can you. i clearly couldn’t think of one. this is the society we live in. anyway. remind me i made this post when it’s march and i start saying i’m gonna make tda capcut ass edits. and i’ll do it too i won’t have school i’ll have ALL the time

This is probably an idiotic question, but how much do you think Chad/Sophia and Milo/Alexis being in love in real life and that chemistry naturally translating onscreen has to do with why you ship brucas and literati: not a factor whatsoever, a small factor, a mid-sized factor, or a major factor?! I never thought it impacted why I shipped either of them but, honestly, on paper both ships are 'eh' to me and the writing has me cringing at points, but somehow when I actually WATCH them my heart is like 'yup, no matter what your brain says, we want these people together' and I really do think the actors' chemistry factors into that a lot more than I had realized. (The reverse is often true too---like my brain *wants* to ship brulian because they're a 'healthier' ship and Julian gave Brooke her fairy tale ending and all that but my heart is like 'eh, sorry, just not feeling it.') I swear there are a few Gilmore Girls scenes where I'm like 'that's not even Rory and Jess---you can tell by the tone and expression that it's Milo and Alexis lol' and same goes for Chad and Sophia when I rewatch parts of OTH. So I would say the actors' real life love coming through onscreen influences my shipping both those couples a lot, or at least more than I'd realized before. I'm so curious what your take is!

I would personally say that the chemistry has a massive impact. Not necessarily the real life relationships, though I'm sure for some that was part of the fun. Oftentimes, when fictional couples turn into real life couples, both the on screen and off screen dynamics are shipped simultaneously. I mean, it especially plays a large role in terms of Rory's relationship with Jess and their continued popularity. Their on screen relationship didn't last long at all. Milo choosing to leave at the end of season 3 and only appearing sparingly after that meant Rory and Jess never got a proper second chance or even a semblance of one beyond one kiss in season 6. Yet, their relationship is massively popular and touched so many fans. It's the definitive Rory romance even though she dated both Dean and Logan for longer. While Jess got a big push considering he was a real character with his own arc and story lines as opposed to Dean and Logan who primarily revolved around Rory with little things happening in their lives here and there (Dean's failed marriage, Logan's constant battle with Mitchum) that Rory would typically be there to observe, it's undeniable that what they shared on screen can't really be described as a successful romance. Both Rory and Jess had good intentions, but Jess also had a lot of problems that he needed to work through. He genuinely loved Rory, wanted to make her happy, and seemed committed to staying together after high school, but then his personal demons got in the way. So as a result, Jess let Rory down and failed to properly communicate the things that could have brought them closer as a couple. But, damn. The chemistry.

You see little moments like this on the show and also out of context in so many edits. You almost forget how badly things ended. Because how can you not love them?! And back to the chemistry. It never felt as natural with Rory's other boyfriends. I think it was more believable with Logan than Dean, but overall this looked effortless.

Also, Chad and Sophia. Good god. I don't know specifics about Milo and Alexis, but by all accounts Chad and Sophia's short-lived marriage ended in complete disaster to the point it's widely speculated that it played a role in how the endgames played out contrary to what everyone behind the scenes claims. Whatever Brooke and Lucas were intended to be in any given season (and I personally think that during season 2 at the least they might have been endgame), their chemistry far outshone the official Lucas/Peyton pairing. It was just so raw, you know?

These are all different phases. Through their initial relationship to the separating/divorcing era to firmly divorced, that chemistry never went away. Even when the underlying subtext isn't supposed to equal Brucas, the fact their love was once real off screen meant that it never 100% went away. Lucas could say a million lines about what Peyton means to him and how he's never been happier, but it never packed the same punch as the look on his face when he's around Brooke. And I'm not stupid. This is not pro-Chad and Sophia. The man got engaged to a high school senior. I'm not here to debate his real life thoughts and feelings for his ex-wife. I'm also aware acting exists. But if we're talking about real life relationships and on screen chemistry, it's relevant. For them at least, what went down in real life made the love story between Brooke and Lucas feel real.

As for Brooke and Julian/Sophia and Austin, it's interesting how it all kind of inverted. This is a good example of how other times, what's happening in real life doesn't make a difference in regards to on screen couples. On screen, Brooke and Julian were perfectly fine. I'd probably say they had the most heat in season 6 when Sophia and Austin were still figuring out whether they wanted to be together, but the Brooke/Julian relationship overall never had the same passion and effortless on screen affection. It never looked as put on as Lucas/Peyton scenes, but it was never exciting. So I definitely see what you're saying. On paper, Brooke and Julian was the right ending. It was evident how much Julian loved Brooke and that they'd formed an incredibly strong relationship throughout seasons 6-9. But because of the differences in chemistry, it doesn't feel quite as impactful. With Brooke and Lucas, it's like their love for one another is so overwhelming and impossible to turn off even when they want to. With Brooke and Julian, they love each other and it's really nice to have that comforting love after years of failed romances. But it's not necessarily the romance that jumps out.

See, this is very sweet. They're doing everything right. But it's just not the same.
