while i loved the tarlos plot in 3x15 i'm sad that they cut the group hang 😔

Tmnt headcannons and a psa for those like 3 toxic ppl
87
- Raph can get the highest flips pit of all his brothers
-Leo found out how to make the brushes used for Kanji n such for fun and will sometimes make wallpaper with his favorite quotes
-donnie breaks the fabric of the universe at least once a week and no one is surprised
- mikeys accent is fake, he actually has a Bronx accent, he just liked the sufer persona so much he decided to commit
90s
-Leo got the go ninja go song stuck in his head for years
-Raph is the best break dancer and will go to clubs with his brother sometimes
-Donnie will sometimes escape to scap yards for hours on end just tearing appliances apart
-mikey has anger issues, as seen by him beating the shit out of a punching bag in the deleted scene (April's drawing of mikey)

-leo will get "the batman" voice whenever he is stressed

-raph started watching tellanovellas with their father after his nightwatcher thing
-mike will bake custom cakes for his cowabunga carl gigs for an extra price, at first it wasn't very successful but then word spread that they were the best goddamn cakes around and people started to ask for cakes even if they didn't have a kids birthday. Let's just say having a turtle at your quinces or receptions became an inside joke.
-don and mike are up at the crack of dawn, mike cause he likes to bake the cakes the day of so they don't dry out and the frosting doesn't get the weird hard bits after refrigerating and don because he needs to inject coffee and acetometaphin into his veins to deal with these stupid fcuking people
-leo had to use an automatic rifle once in the jungle and he vows to never again
-raph and Casey spent one too many times out till the break of dawn, Casey almost got fired, but raph and him made up a story, put on voices and treachcoats all that jazz. Now Caseys boss thinks he has ties with the mafia... it gets really runny when April finds out and chases them down
-don and mike spend mornings listening to lowkey but hyping songs to get ready in the morning " a boy named pluto" mainly because don can't handel anything loud and mike will cry if the song doesn't have some kind of sway to it
- Raph became the nightwatcher after witnessing the og guys death, poor guys traumatized
2012
- mikey is the best at disappearing, but only after don invested the egg shell smoke bombs
- Leo voice box was permenatly damaged when he was attacked b4 the farm house arc, it gets really bad when he is stressed
- Raph after the whole brainworm thing (is that cannon or fannon, im like 70% sure it's cannon but idk) gets really spooked around insects and worms, especially if he can hear them moving
- Donnie got a chem set for Christmas from his brother, but he knows they really just stole stuff from nycu, he loves it
2018
- Raph gets sad sometimes that he isn't smaller cause he wants to be help, his brother make sure to give him a really big group hug, doesn't solve anything but he knows he is loved
- Mikey spray paints, it started with the sewer walls, but now he does abandon buildings too
- Donnie built himself the best noise canceling headphones, and then built all his brothers pairs because they kept asking to borrow them
- Leo ugly laughts at the fnaf sb freddy memes, all of them, it makes everyone who hears it wheeze
2023
- Leo is so goddamn anxiety ridden, this poor boy
- Finally a raph that does violent right, yeah it might (read deffo will in hs) end up bad, but never for his brother, cause he protects them with that violence and anger
- Don definitely learned how to speak Korean so he could watch k-pop interviews as they aired
- Mikey is a natural at martial arts

There has been a bit of toxicity regarding raph fans, like 3 of them. Everyone else is great, so for anyone experiencing hate from those people like @theunicorncomic-blog and @incorrect-2003-tmnt-quotes ( like people are being toxic to them not that they are toxic) along with anyone else experiencing toxicity from the 3 Raph fans
I am so sorry, I know it can be stressful and they seem to like to target things that are personal. So just remember it doesn't matter who your favorite is, it doesn’t matter if you hate a character, we are tmnt. We are TMNT and we love our ninja boys, and we always will. Embrace the new iterations, learn of the old, no matter what it will bring you joy to see our boys out n about getting love.
Spread love and affection, and ignore those who are violent without reason.
And for those like 3 toxic raph fans, I get that you are upset about people disliking raph or feeling like his personality is costing other characters, but something to remeber is that, we love raph, he is a great character, what we are upset about is that the writers make him "angry, strong, rule breaker" and nothing else, they don't let him grow, they don't let him experience, for example the other characters start out as this. " Mr. Rules, Ninja, Leader by name only" and then let him grow to " leader through experience, kind, and willing to risk it all for his family" another " know it all, annoyed, non confrontational" and let him grow to " empathetic, strong willed, smart" they allow the other characters to grow, while sticking with their base. So the Raph we want to see at the end of a series is " willing to do anything to protect, strength through family, and angry at injustice" we can see it be set up in 07 and 03, but the others leave him as an angry, violent jerk who is funny mind due, but non the less we are left wanting more from someone who tends to be one of the more focused on characters.
TLDR, we are upset that Raph suffers as a character from lack of mobility, in a main position he has the options to, but the writers don't give it to him, and by doing so it costs the other characters. So stop being toxic and giving your character a bad rap by using slurs against the people who have different views from you. Just remember there is way more good than there is bad, don't let these 3 ruin things for everyone else or warp your view of others

The one good thing about buddie not yet being canon is always getting a solo storyline for Eddie and Buck (and you are right, Chimney deserves his own storyline in 6b!)
I will forever be mad that Tim & Kristen (including Tim because he actually spoke about it to a journalist) decided Chim didn't need his own arc in Maddie's absence. FOREVER MAD.
And people say "Oh, but Chim being gone really helped the audience feel how fractured things had become."
Well, consider this:
Chimney was a character before Maddie came along. Chimney is his own person outside of his relationship the same way not everything Buck and Eddie do has to be about/include each other.
We could have had Albert (idc if fandom doesn't like him, he's literally family) helping out with Jee once or twice. We could have seen Henren (one one half of them) around her. We could have STILL seen the tension between Buck and Chim for a few weeks with them not talking and then they have a REAL scene where they put all that crap behind them. We could have had Uncle Buck even earlier (for those that care)!
And for the Madney part of it, we could have gotten Chim reaching out and failing to get into contact, leading to a talk with EDDIE!! The guy who also had no way of knowing where his kid's mom was!! (That is not me saying the reasons for why they left are comparable or equally excusable, I'm gonna stop everyone right there. But it IS something that the show could have used to have the guys bond. Maybe that was what the deleted 5x04 scene was about, we don't know.)
Even something like Chm being "kidnapped" didn't get the angst fandom expected. It was a "haha, how funny" moment with the soundtrack and the fact that his partner wasn't even aware it was happening (a big difference from how LS intertwines Judd and Grace's careers when they're apart).
Stop disrespecting my guy, 911! This is supposed to be an ensemble show!
Getting back to the main point of the ask (this is why I don't talk about Madney/Chimney very often, lol), I think Eddie's solo storylines are better than Buck's, tbh - Eddie and Shannon was good because we saw his growth as a parent while she was still mentally stuck in her early 20s bitching about the past, the fighting arc, Eddie Begins > Buck Begins, EddieAna was better than BT because they made her look perfect (minus the ableism that the show handwaved) and Eddie was like "You're perfect, but not perfect for me." whereas Buck kinda...had no choice but to break things off?
But...Eddie's arcs don't last as long because he's not the character the show uses to draw viewers in. 😶

hello d! nice ask week question for you - as a new member of the fandom, how did you come across 911ls? also, what inspired you to start writing fic? what's your favourite thing about writing fic and the thing you find most challenging? 💜
Hi Lola! Thank you for the question 💗 Sorry for answering this so late!
How did you come across 911 LS: Answered here 😀
What inspired you to start writing fic: Well first off the last time I had written fanfic was when I was like 15 writing about (redacted) 🤫 It was only a couple fics and definitely nothing good 😂 thankfully I had the sense to delete them from existence all those years ago 😅 I’ve written other things since then but not fanfic. Hence why I was so nervous to share my first bits of Tarlos writing. Now as for starting to write Tarlos: My inspiration was just the show and TK and Carlos themselves. Their story is just so beautiful, and I really connected with aspects of each of their characters. And then just reading fic again in general is inspiring me. So many talented people crafting their own stories and it just makes me eager to join the fun and contribute. I have a need to put them in even more situations 😂 I’ve been finding inspiration pretty easily at the moment. The way my brain works, I hear a lyric or see a random picture, anything as simple as that and I’m brimming with ideas. My number one thing I found inspiration in is literally just words. I’ll be reading a fic and someone uses the word ‘savour’ or ‘speechless’ and bam I’m thinking and I have to exit the fic tab and go start writing before I lose my idea. A few WIPs started from something as random as that. As an example the colleagues AU I’m working on all started from twos things: Someone [that may or may not be you and Rae] using the word ‘professional’ in their fic, which of course made me think of TK saying the words ‘what we did this morning was very unprofessional’ in that 2x04 scene. I went hmm professional? = work = colleagues = hookup in the office and so forth 😂 I now have 2 separate office based WIPs in the works because some of the scenes I’m writing aren’t working with the current plot so they’ve been shifted into a new doc haha. But I’m serious. Other writers are the reason I’m even attempting fic again no rules in breakable heaven by @strandnreyes and un(professional) services by yourself and @rmd-writes got my brain ticking and really gave me a kick up the butt to actually try write anything even half as good as those💗💗💗
What’s your favourite thing about writing fic: The strories you get to explore. Getting to have fun with the characters we know and love. Being able to expand on scenes and missing moments in canon, and weave my own intricate story whilst still making it feel faithful to them. Thinking up an AU and put them in whatever environment I feel like, I am really loving it atm. When I actually have the time to write anyway, because I certainly have not this week 😅
What you find the most challenging about writing fic: Sort of mentioned above because it’s a favourite and also challenging. But when crafting my own story, specifically an AU, trying to make them feel authentic to the characters we see on the show. Whilst also being fully fleshed characters in their own right in the little universe I’ve created. It’s got me like ‘would he say that? would he think that? would he do that?’ even in this made up scenario. And if there’s one thing I’m gonna do, it’s overthink 😂

1. On one hand, I just want them to be happy and soft because they deserve it. On the other hand, I know that doesn’t make for compelling TV. So in addition to the Gabriel thing, I’d probably have Carlos develop an addiction of his own. Maybe it’s like, stimulants because he’s putting so much time and effort into finding who killed his father. But TK is in denial for the longest time because Carlos would never do that, and once he realizes that he’s wrong, it puts TK’s own recovery to the test getting Carlos the help he needs, but he pulls through and gets Carlos on the path to recovery as well. I know, I’m terrible, I’m sorry.
2. Either Julius to make Tommy’s life with Trevor very complicated, or Billy because I can’t help it, I love Billy. Or Alex trying to win TK back, just so I can watch Carlos could punch him out.
3. If it wasn’t for the identical cousin storyline Mateo had, I thought it would’ve been absolutely hilarious if they did House crossover and Owen’s other ex-wife was Lisa Cuddy, also played by Lisa Edelstein. But since they already did this kind of with Mateo, I’m going to be boring and say another 911 crossover would be cool. More of TK clocking Buck from a mile away and Eddie conveniently entering the scene immediately after, please and thanks, because that was so funny.
4. A Halloween episode for sure. I hate to say anything nice ever about Riverdale, but I loved the “3 different vignettes in one” episodes they’d do, especially the one in season 2. I think it would be REALLY cool to do something like that, where we have one story with Carlos investigating Gabriel’s murder solo and things get creepy, and then another story of the 126 showing up to a call except it’s to an abandoned asylum or something and they find out no one actually called (it’s like a ghost call), and then a third story of maybe Grace and the Wyatt and Charlie having a Halloween night in but it goes very “The Strangers” on them and someone is trying to break into their house but it’s really just like Judd’s daddy or someone totally innocuous.
5. A part of me wants to say the absolute blatant rip off of the Gabby Petito case, but I love Marjan centric episodes and there are not enough of them. So uh… probably the Owen stalker storyline. I don’t need more of Rob Lowe stroking his own ego on my screen.
6. Either Jensen Ackles or Timothy Olyphant as the new like, lead Texas Ranger. Basically taking over Gabriel’s position. And he would either a) be really keen on working with Carlos to help solve the murder because he has history with Gabriel or b) is behind the murder of Gabriel. Or both!
7. Ugh, this is so hard. I love both! I think he’s happier as a paramedic, but I wish he’d have more to do than drop the “BP is whatever over whatever, Cap!” line. Plus, I miss the little rivalry between him and Carlos when TK was AFD. I think I like him better as a firefighter, but I’m good with either.
8. REYES, TEXAS RANGER. I really wanted Detective Reyes, but I totally respect Carlos’s want to save people rather than figure out the case after the damage has been done. That being said, I kind of have a sneaking suspicion that a fellow ranger did Gabriel in, and I feel like Carlos will both NEED to get into the rangers to figure that piece out, and will WANT to next season to honor his father. Also, Team Carlos in a Cowboy Hat.
9. A Carlos flashback if I had to pick. IDK, I feel like TK has a lot of episodes that kind of center his trauma, so we know a LOT about TK, and less about Carlos. So it’d be nice to see more of his story, pre-TK.
10. A new partner for Carlos. You know… because he becomes a ranger… bonus if it causes a little bit of tension between him and TK like Cooper did! (I like the angst, I can’t help it)
11. Lou II! I love reptiles and TK being a lizard boy and Carlos being sketched out by them… all of it is adorable.
12. I’m gonna say Carlos’s sisters, just because I don’t think we’ll see much of TK’s cousins going forward unless Sydney decides to come after Owen for assisted suicide. Which would not surprise me in the least.
13. Andrea calling TK mijo. I just love it so much!
14. Reyes-Strand. I like the flow of Tyler Kennedy Reyes-Strand and Carlos Tomas Reyes-Strand better than Strand-Reyes.

WHAT A WEEK OF Ws AND Ls.
The Ls: I spent a lot of this week feeling bad about myself and writing fanfic anyway because I had time this week that I’m not going to have next week, and then feeling worse about myself because the fanfic was bad, and I felt bad about it being OOC, and also not having any real narrative coherence or value, and being structurally completely insane. Also, this chapter is now 10,000 words long and is not yet complete and I know I was trying to convince myself earlier that there is absolutely no reason a chapter can’t be a novella, but also why would it need to be. But the parts that are bad need to be there in some form, so I have to fix them, not simply delete them.
The Ws: I kept writing. PRESS ON REGARDLESS. Hisagi and Matsumoto had a better conversation than I thought they were going to have. I don’t think it’s quite there, but it’s way better than the version I wrote last year and this week deleted all of. In a different conversation, I managed to work in a reference to the Koifushi Bananas, my beloved. I wrote most of the 2nd of 4ish fight scenes in this fic, which I was concerned about because I don’t want them to feel repetitive; and I personally think fight scenes are more interesting to watch than to read. But this one has a JELLY WOLF (except it’s not jelly, or a wolf, this is a terrible description), which I’m happy about, because the entirety of the outline for this part was just "I’ll probably need you to cover for me. Don’t go too far." and “shikai” and I didn’t know there was going to be a Jelly Wolf.
I am very fond of Jelly Wolf, so here is most of his scene:
Faster. She needs to be faster. One at a time won’t be good enough.
Matsumoto splits her attention. Haineko, at the back of her mind. Haineko, entrusted. They are faster and stronger together but Haineko can hold her own, ash moving like a lynx through the trees, only to dissipate and move like no creature at all.
Matsumoto can smell it now, gamey and rich—not blood, Hollows don’t have blood—so thick it’s obliterative to all else.
(Her captain, somewhere. Don’t get too far. Don’t let him get too far—)
Matsumoto shoots through the forest, trying to close distance. She doesn’t think she can make the same kidou net as Hinamori had when they’d fought together in the Winter War, its tight weave almost invisible against the reishi around it, but with any luck she won’t have to. These Hollows are the monstrous kind, not the deceitful—no language, no games. Just hunger.
Stay that way, she prays, and sets bombs. Kidou, nascent, connected by thready intent, ready to be brought together by a final syllable.
Haineko rushes her, splitting the branches from a tree as the ash streams past, friction smoke rising in her wake, and Matsumoto falls into a defensive stance. Haineko materializes as a blade just as black jaws close around her, jaws so large they can’t belong to anything that fits inside this forest. Jaws so large that as they swallow her whole, Matsumoto remains whole. The bite is jagged and she slips through the cracks.
She is and isn’t inside something. The Hollow is more a ghost of a thing than a thing, powerful enough that inside it like this, Matsumoto can feel her body buckling under pressure. Her muscles contact like they’re responding to brutal touch and her breaths come in shallow gasps as her lungs struggle to inflate. She can see the trees through its body, curving inward like ribs, rafters on which this Hollow has hung its shape. Why work around the forest when you can become it?
Matsumoto croaks out the final syllable of her bomb net.
As expected, it’s not enough—all seven bombs blow a hole only large enough for Matsumoto to take one gasping breath of free air before the Hollow’s spiritual pressure shoves her to the ground once more, popping the breath from her lungs.
The jaws come back. They’re clearly not attached to any head, nor is it likely they have any sense that they should be, but in Matsumoto’s mind it’s like a wolf turning inside out, teeth chasing prey down its own throat. Matsumoto throws her sword up to block, another thing that should have been kidou but isn’t, because all language floods from her mind and she doesn’t think she can speak— she can’t breathe—
Matsumoto bets on black, lets her jaws close around her again as Haineko dissipates, and hopes the fangs will miss her again. She sends Haineko away, rushing low over the ground, splintering the tops of roots as they head for the base of the rib-trees.
She feels a sharp pain at her thigh, and gasps.
Blood, blood for sure, as her cheeks turn deathly cold then hot, nervous system jolted into frenzy by sudden uncertainty—where her body begins and ends, what exists within and without. But it’s not a puncture, nothing’s crushed—she can move freely and does, hand slicking instantly as she tries to gauge the depth of the wound. She has no idea what hurt her, until she reminds herself that this Hollow is not, in fact, a wolf—not even one the size of a forest, with its head down its throat. Perhaps the teeth are barbed, perhaps they are not teeth at all. She staggers until the pressure forces her to her knees again.
Tree line, she reminds herself. Tree line, tree line—
At least, she hears a crack, as the earth, carved away by Haineko, begins to release the tree roots, and the tree comes down. The second tree already, she realizes with some relief—the first, while she was in the jaws.
Her leg isn’t off too poorly. It’s painful, missing enough skin to risk infection if she weren’t to tend it, but it’s not deep and it’s bleeding, but not profusely. She’s okay, she’s okay. She hears another tree fall. Faster.
Kidou, this time. First a kekkai, thrown hastily between her and the not-jaws, but a far better defense than her sword. Then bakudou, towards the trees. Used normally, this bakudou will stills the current of reiryoku in an opponent. Trees are not the same, but all life flows with reishi, and Matsumoto tries to imagine the vascular inside of a tree, tries to imagine the small death of all that reishi—water and nutrients and whatever else—coming to a stop. She imagines the burnt out husks of trees after a lightning strike, the emptiness of dry wood stacked neatly in the 10th Division kitchens.
Haineko rips through the dead spots, and the trees come down, one after another after another. With it comes the Hollow, body collapsing with the trees.
Matsumoto rolls, too conscious of the pain as her bleeding thigh bounces over rock and root.
Faster. Haineko doesn’t have enough ash to match the size of the Hollow. She’ll need to make up for it in speed—faster, faster—
There’s nothing to aim for, in this Hollow that is too big for this forest and is this forest and is not a wolf and is and is not a set of jaws and is a heaviness, a great dark mass. There is no heart to aim for, no head. If it has any kind of literal hole the only ones Matsumoto can imagine are the gaps between its teeth.
She will tear it to pieces. She has to. She will tear it to pieces until it forgets it was anything but pieces.
She doesn’t think much, after that, as her mind fills only with Haineko, only with this singular objective: Tear it apart.
Take it in your teeth and shred.

I do wonder why they decided to cut the group hang and have Tarlos scenes instead? I’m not complaining at all but I am curious 👀
This is a great question. We may never know. A lot of decisions go into what makes the final cut of an episode, especially when you would have to trade what we did get in episode 3x15 for something else. It’s even harder with classic tv which needs specific commercial breaks at set points and your scenes need to fit in with that.
Odds are they cut it because it didn’t add anything to the storylines they were telling and it looks like we should be getting some quality time with the 126 hang group in 3x17 and they may have decided they didn’t need this one as well and could prioritize something else they felt was needed either for the Lou storyline or for Grace or Owen’s through line.
That or they didn’t like the C plot or it wasn’t enough and they went back to the drawing board and came up with Lou.
