I’ve had a longtime headcanon that Papyrus has hand related sensory issues, and that being part of the reason he wears gloves all the time. I feel this includes the other Papyri, too, though it manifests differently depending on who.
US Papyrus doesn’t mind physical contact so much if he initiates it, the type of guy to offer a friendly shoulder clasp or high five on occasion, but if it’s initiated by someone else, usually someone he doesn’t know very well, it bothers him a lot. Hides it pretty well, but generally tries to avoid it. His hands also aren’t as sensitive, but there are a number of textures he avoids touching barehanded absolutely.
UF Papyrus is entirely touch averse. It’s not intolerable, not so bad he’d panic at unwelcome contact, but he avoids it entirely, barring the very few, primarily just Undyne and Sans, he doesn’t mind as much. It gets easier later after he’s got more positive exposure, and he actually winds up loving physical contact with people he trusts, but touch aversion with strangers never really goes away. His hands are about as sensitive as Rus’ though, so the gloves always stay on (not to mention they prevent him from nicking everything with his claws).
Void actually used to be incredibly touch averse, to the point that he’d even snap at Undyne if she grabbed him at the wrong time. His bones are much more sensitive after becoming a vessel, and it makes touch often feel like the area in contact is burning or crawling, so he tries to only touch others with his reinforced-gloved hands, when possible. After he learns how to control his focus better it’s significantly less of an issue, and after working in the multiverse for sometime, finds some contact enjoyable, even.

i wish there wasn’t such a stigmatized view on platonically loving people.
I can’t call people nicknames and pet names like hun and honey without them immediately assuming i have romantic interest in them.
i can’t tell my friends i love them without adding on “platonically” or shortening the phrase “ily” “love you” “love u”
i love a lot of people. i love my sister, i love my boyfriend, and i love my best friend. All different versions of love.
let us love people openly and honestly without it being seen as “making a move” or being romantically interested.
please please please stop assuming that love is strictly romantic, i promise you life becomes so much brighter and bigger when you stop keeping love strictly romantic.
